Right now the main group is rowing towards a pirate ship, so your characters probably wouldn't bump into them. But Eric the Sage is in the docks being chased by a horse of pirates to distract them all while the others steal their ship. The Jinmaos could get lost in Carogne, wind up in the shady part of town, and accidentally stumble upon Eric and the pirates.

For really, I think that the poorest he that is in England hath a life to live as the greatest he. And therefore truly, Sir, I think it's clear that every man that is to live under a Government ought first by his own consent to put himself under that Government. And I do think that the poorest man in England is not at all bound in a strict sense to that Government that he hath not had a voice to put himself under.

Giving him a valuable skill that nobody else in the group has would be a good idea to start with - some form of book smarts that could come in handy, or a specific trade (armor/weapon maintenance perhaps?). Besides, as long as the character's willing to help out, they should fit in the group just fine. Angelle sword aside, Eric's a normal human and he gets by - doesn't get overshadowed during battles either, since he has military training.

Jimhao's a genius and the spider can repair stuff. I was thinking maybe like a detective-esque character? But I'm not really sure how that could come in useful consistently, and it might be a pain for Const if he has to start hinting at clues.
