How much more effective does a scythe make things like cutting long grass or grains?

Let me get back to you on that. I imagine it'd cut the time almost in half, if not more, but I'd have to take a look.

On the subject of units, I presume four bushels of grass wield one bushel of fiber rather than a length? Also, on the subject of tree cutting, the OP says that the mightiest trees take two days to cut. If I were to assume that medium sized trees would take half the time, and smaller ones a quarter, would I be correct?

P.S: Are expansion points consumed by item/mechanic or by consultation?

I'm using bushel and length interchangeably for fiber, I apologize for any conflicts in wording. As far as timber goes, pretty much the only valuable lengths of wood are going to come from forest giants (this is partially due to balance, but not entirely).
