Welcome to King’s and Queen’s. An RP set in a world where pure democratic Republican governments failed and fell by the wayside following the failure in America. In this RP you will choose your nation and their ruling family and lead it to greatness. The focus of the RP is heavily on the characters and families themselves while still having nation based RP aspects. Players will be allowed some creativity for history however it must not conflict with OP history, a previously accepted applicants history, and must be approved by the OP or Co-OP.

Breakdown of ground sector - The Royal Army, established by decree of King Washington in 1788, is a relatively large and powerful organization, tasked with the defense of the Kingdom and Her overseas territories as well as with conducting offensive operations against the Kingdom's enemies. Tracing it's lineage to the Continental Army of General Washington, the Royal Army maintains a number of Continental Army formations to maintain the heritage and honors of those units.

Also a part of the Navy are the Royal Marines and American Coast Guard. The Royal Marines, like the Navy and Army, were formed by King Washington in 1788 while the Coast Guard was formed by Parliament in 1915 to free up Naval ships for the War. After 1943, the Coast Guard was moved from military control to the Ministry of Homeland Security but the Coast Guard still claims it's lineage back to the Royal Navy.
Unlike the Army and Air Force, most states only have a token Naval Guard and Naval militia force, with only coastal states being required to maintain Naval militias. There is no Marine Corps segment to the Militias and the Marines also pride themselves on being the only all volunteer portion of the Armed Forces.

Extra military information - Current US conscription law requires all male and female citizens who are at least 20 years old to perform four years of military or alternative service. Nearly 20% of Americans aged 20-24 end up doing their four years in the military, with the remaining 80% of Americans performing some other form of national service. After their term of National service is concluded, those who served in the military are transferred to the Home Guard while those who did not serve in the military are transferred to their state militias. Home Guard soldiers are required to attend 60 training days a year, most often 2 weekends a month and two weeks as a summer or winter exercise. In the 1940s and 1950s, America jumped on the atomic bandwagon, successfully testing a 20 kiloton device in an underground facility in Tennessee in 1970. However, the end of the Cold War and arms reduction treaties would severely limit the American nuclear arsenal, resulting in a greater emphasis on conventional warfare tactics.
Following the creation of the UN Security Council, America lobbied to be included, arguing for a voice on the American continent. After Egypt was admitted, America increased the volume of its demands, arguing that if Africa got a voice, North America deserved one, as well.
During the Afghan Civil War, America would funnel money and weapons to the Afghan Royal Family, hoping to curry favor with the Afghans and secure a partner in the region. Islamic terrorists would later attack New York City, Chicago, and Washington, killing hundreds of Americans and sparking a wave of public outrage against the Afghan government.
During the latter half of the 20th Century, America attempted to impose itself into the other nations on the continent, seeking to bring them into its own borders and secure hegemony over the continent.

Because Russia’s colonies weren’t colonies in the same sense as others but closer to a UK England and Scotland situation. And all are monarchies of some form or fashion.

Fleeing from Europe in order to protect their cultural and religious heritage. By 1870, almost 300,000 Bavarians lived in the region of Tanganyika. In 1870, the Imperial Mandate of Africa established the Colony of Tanzania, which layed claim over the Tanganyika region and the kingdom of Zanzibar. While Tanganyika was subjecated rather effortlessly. Zanzibar stood firm. The Germans brought in a fleet of 3x 3rd Rate Ships of the Line, and 7x 6th Rate Ships of the Line, along with 2 Steam Frigates. In addition they brought a land force of 12,000 German Troops. The Bishop of Nuremburg was made a Cardinal and the Head of the Tanzanian Catholic Church, in 1873 he would move his residence to Dar Es Salaam. But in 1871 a war broke out between the Kingdom of Zanzibar and the German Empire, this would be the first German Colonial War. Of the 12,000 German troops in Africa, only 600 were cavalry and only 12 infantry guns were assigned. This meant the Germans would largely rely on Naval bombardments. They created a diversion by moving landing ships toward Fumba Town, but instead landed a force of 9,000 Germans in Bumbwini, completely uncontested. They marched south and defeated the Zanzibar Army at Koani, before sieging Zanzibar for 2 Months until the king surrendered and then committed suicide.

With the Colony Relatively safe, the germans built up a large mining infrastructure and farming infrastructure. Dar es Salaam would become an industrial port town. By 1900 their were an estimated 840,000 Pflanzers or white Tanzanians, the Portuguese have been fully integrated into the Pflanzer population. In 1914 the great war breaks out and the British lead an assault on the Colony. The local commander, Paul von Lettow-Vorbeck, is placed in command of the Baltic Pact Afrika Korps, consisting of some 18,000 German Troops, 21,000 French Troops, and 30,000 Local Askari fighters (Africans trained to become european soldiers). Lettow-Vorbeck immediately named a Congolese general to lead the defense of the west african front, and assigned him a force of 34,000 to do the job. The remaining 35,000 would defend the wide South African border. The British had an estimated 47,000 troops in Africa made up largely of local africans and indians. Paul Immediately led a defence of the City of Maputo, before leading a counter attack into the Transvaal, thus earning the loyalty of 30,000 Boer troops, this allowed him to give the remaining 17,000 Askari to the West African Front, before pushing deeply into South Africa. But September of 1915, Cape Town surrendered leaving a stiff assault through the Kalahari Desert and into the Namibian mountains. 2 weeks before the end of the war, Windhoek was taken leaving Walvis Bay as the last major city the british controlled.

Following the war was a time of construction and industry, The Boer empire was freed leaving the British with a small colony consisting of Northern Namibia and Southern Angola. A massive rail network was constructed in the 1920s and 30s, and Dar es Salaam, Maputo, and Beira devoloped into large port cities. African Maize and Tobacco were grown across the region. But more importantly were the nations Aluminium, Gold, Platinum, and Copper Mines. The nations large mining industry was boosted by a now sprawling network of roads and rails between a large collection of cities and towns throughout Africa. Roaring 20s culture spread to the region and prompted the start of the African Modern Fashion industry. The first planes in the colony arrived in 1919, and only ten years later several small scale airports were built in the nations major cities. Paul von Lettow-Vorbeck became a national hero, to the people for defending them from the English Tyrants. He was notable for fighting for equal rights for the Africans, believing that all Humans had the chance to prove themselves. He was Knighted in 1916 and then rose to the position of Duke by 1930. He married the famous Danish Writer Karen Blixen (known by her pen name of Isak Dinesen) in 1921. He would have 12 Kids and by the time he became duke of the Colony he had already planned marriages for 3 of them to African Chieftans. In 1930 he would be named the Duke of Tanganyika and the Governor of Tanzania. His closely and carefully planned alliances with local chieftains helped him quickly win over the people of Tanzania, and as a show of good faith to the people he and his family converted from Lutheran to Catholic. He gave many business grants and helped massively expand the nations economy. In 1937 his wife would start the Royal Library and the Public School System.

The nations role in the great american war would be minimal, they focused on supplying the navy, but and also quickly crushed British Namibia with the help of the Boers and Congolese. In 1941, he would move the capital from Dar Es Salaam to the more centralized location of Blantyre, a quite country villa of a british businessman who had been run out at the start of the war in 1938. Here he built a new capital from scratch, quickly persuading hundreds of thousands of people from the nearby townships to come settle at the city. The Royal Library was moved their and the Villa turned into a massive Palace and Castle known as Blantyre Castle. He started the Tanganyikan Gazette, a national newspaper, the public school system, and the public university system. He also built the Royal Basilica in Blantyre. This more centralized location allowed him to run the country more effectively. He would sponsor the creation of the Afropolitan Institute, a system of museums and research centers through out the nation similar to the American Smithsonian.

In 1945 he created the Workers Union to protect workers, and the Citizens Bill of Rights creating a system of rights for all citizens in the colony. Shortly after this on October 3rd, 1945 the nation became the independent Kingdom of Tanzania. He would integrate many chieftains into a ruling group of aristocrats and divided the country into numerous provinces each ruled by a Lord in his stead. He made sure they all went to university and were educated. He sponsored the creation of numerous industries including a bustling Manufacturing industry that really began to erupt in the 1980s. He built many hotels and tourist locations through out the country at different animal preservations. He also sponsored created a modern telecommunications network and sponsored the construction of cinemas around the country to provide the populace with his favorite form of entertainment. He structured the school system to be like the german one which taught students business and trade skills over intellectual skills. Though he created several schools which did teach intellectual things more prominently known as the Technikschule, which required applicants to take an aptitude test. He created the African Bank and thus jump started the financial industry in his country. By his death in 1963 the country would be on track to become on of the wealthiest countries in Africa along with the Congo. In 1963 his son Erich von Lettow-Vorbeck would take over as the King. He would continue his fathers work late into the 1990s.

Between the 1960s and 1990s an African pop culture developed, along with a music industry based around Jazz and Hip-Hop. Modern Farming and Mining technology was introduced in the 70s, decreasing the amount of farmers and miners needed allowing more people to go get jobs in the factories, thus creating a much larger industry their. The population also sky rocket between 1970 and 2000 the population rose from 50 Million to 110 Million. Erich married his eldest daughter to Andre Badajoz, the heir to the once rulers of Portuguese Mozambique, now a Afro-Protuguese Aristocratic Family. Andre was deeply schooled in politics, economics, and business, and ran a Shipping and Banking Empire out of Maputo. Thus Erich would name Andre his Successor at their wedding in 2011. Erich would die of Lung Cancer three years later in 2014, leaving Andre to take over at only 34 years old. However Tanzania, was no longer a poor nation the average wage is currently 9,600 USD, and the population stands at around 148 Million.

Quick question on the map, the history talks about the Kingdom of the Cameroon acting as it's own thing, joining the ATC and all that, but on the map almost all of Cameroon is within the borders of the Congo (light blue). Is Cameroon supposed to be mostly within the Congo? Is Congo and Empire above the Kingdom? Is the teal bits North of the Congo supposed to be Cameroon? Or is it Nigeria?
