< STATUS ON THE FRANCO-ITALIAN WAR >

Corsica
Italian forces secured the beachheads, and managed to seize the cities of Bastia, Ajaccio, Bonifacio, and many others with little resistance. The entire Corsican coastline was under Italian control. Italian forces continue to move further inland, where the French are trying to organize resistance. However, the numerical and technologically superior Italian forces will soon overwhelm the French in Corsica.

Franco-Italian Border
The Italian forces overran much of the French border garrisons. The town of Menton fell without resistance, and Italian forces occupied Monaco for a secured route. Italian forces fought a fierce battle with the French after Nice, but in the end managed to pull out a victory. The Italians now held the French city of Nice. The Italians continued, capturing the towns of Cannes and Grasse before being stopped at the town of Fréjus up to the river Verdon. At the same time, the Italians advanced up to the northern Durance River, seizing the cities of Barcelonnette and Briançon. Meanwhile, the Italian forces invaded French Savoy. The managed to seize the towns of Modane, St. Jean, Grand Paradisio, and Alberville from the French defenders. The French put up fierce resistance in Chamonix, but the Italians pulled out a Pyrrhic victory. The Italians advanced all the way to Annecy, but suffered horrible defeat at the hands of an organized French defense. The quick Italian offensive was just as quick to bog down. Therefore, the Italian High Command temporarily called off the offensive to give troops time to rest and recuperate. This would give the French and her allies time to build up defenses while also giving the Italians time to gather their strength and momentum.

Africa Front
The Italians launched a daring offensive in Africa, overrunning French forces in southern Tunisia. After the Pyrrhic victory in the Battle of Gabès, Italian forces managed to occupy the whole of Tunisia in a short period of time. However, French counterattacks made any further advance into Algeria near-to-impossible. The Italians in East Africa advanced into French Somaliland, managing to pacify much of the colony. The Italians besieged the city of Djibouti, but the French planed for a prolonged siege.

Mediterranean Front
After the Italians bombing of French ports, 2/3 of the French navy within the Mediterranean were either sunk or out of commission for over a year. This gave the Italians naval supremacy (even if for a short time). They established a blockade in order to cut off the easy access from the French to their Mediterranean colonies. However, the French still pose a small threat to Italian naval dominance in the Mediterranean. Not including whether or not the United Kingdom will intervene or not.

STATUS REPORT:
The United Kingdom has formally declared war on the Kingdom of Italy. The Royal Navy is moving to engage the Italian Regia Marina. British forces to enter France in the coming hour.
New recruits reached the Franco-Italian Front. These recruits came just in time to replenished wounded and worn out troops. Defensive lines are still being constructed along the frontline in Europe.

Mediterranean Front
The Regia Marina has prepared itself for a war against the British, and with help from the Austro-Hungarian Navy, the Regia Marina could hold off the Royal Navy. The Regia Marina does have a secret ace up its sleeve. A sizable portion of the fleet is already positioned around Malta, and has begun bombarding the island upon hearing the news of the declaration. Italian marines an paratroopers prepare to land on the island, but it won’t be as easy as first thought. Meanwhile, the island of Corsica fully fell to the Italian forces. The French did put up a valiant last stand in the town of Corte, but ultimately were defeated.

Africa Front
Italian forces begin moving to engage the British in Egypt. Italian forces should be able to overrun the British with support from the Ottomans. The Italian Africa Korps is exclusively trained and equipped for fighting in the harsh conditions of the Sahara an Libyan deserts. Italian forces in East Africa launch a pre-planned invasion of British Somaliland, quickly overtaking the small garrison forces. Italian forces link up in the town of Berbera. The Siege of Djibouti continues.

Franco-Italian Front
Italian troops have resumed offensive operations in the Franco-Italian Front. A major offensive located in the Massif Du Pelvoux and Provence areas saw a major breakthrough in the French lines. The French cities of Fréjus, Digne, and Ebrun fell to Italian forces after fierce fighting. The entire area of the Massif Du Pelvoux was taken, and Italian forces advanced up to the Isére and Durance rivers. Italian forces move closer and closer to the outskirts of Draguignan, Sisteron, Gap, Grenoble, and Annecy. However, a combined Franco-British force managed to fend off the attacks, and Italian forces suffered heavy losses as a result. The offensive is halted, and the Italian High Command agree to wait for German support before launching any further attacks.

Mediterranean Front
With the Fall of Corsica, the Italian fleets continue to bombard the French coastline in the Mediterranean. Meanwhile, reports indicate that the Royal Navy is moving its fleet in the Mediterranean to intervene in the invasion of Malta.
A combined Austro-Hungarian Fleet and a contingent of the Regia Marina has blockaded Malta, and is ready to combat the Royal Navy if necessary. With the French Navy crippled, the Royal Navy has no support from other nations in the naval war.

Africa Front
Italian forces make small gains in French Algeria, despite fierce resistance. The Italian Main Army in Libya line up on the border with British Egypt. Italian East Africa has constructed a formidable defensive line along the border with British Africa. In the Siege of Djibouti, Italians use mustard gas for the first time. This forced the remaining French defenders to surrender.

The sound of iron feet hitting dirt could be heard from miles away and within the small metal can Gerald sat, it was deafening. Thank god, he had earmuffs on or he would likely come home and not be able to hear the voice of his wife and child. He stared at a picture of them taped to the side of the compartment as it swung about in lurching mech. He grabbed it from the confines of tape and stared at it. It was a picture of him and his family as the poised for a picture, it took so long t get everyone in position. He ran his finger across the black and white picture trying to remember his happiness but ever since he joined the Wehrmacht it got harder and harder as the days grew darker. The Kaiserriech had so far decided to stay out of the war fearing a conflict on both fronts but recent events had made it necessary for them to intervene. The invasion of Galacia had changed plans and action had to be taken now to prevent a possible collapse of the Austrians.

They had only received their orders an hour ago and were told to maintain absolute informational security. Anyone how dared leak the orders were to be executed on the spot with no trial. The orders were to move across the Russian border and head for a beeline towards Warsaw. Gerald stuck his head out of the mech's hatch and saw the stars of the night. In front of him lay a dozen mechs with a hundred infantry crowded around them. In the distance, the light of a small town could be seen and through the binoculars of Gerald could see the flag of Russia flying from the tallest church spire. Suddenly a flare shot up into the air illuminating the land between the task force and the town revealing a small line of trenches and panicked Russian infantry as they dashed around the trench preparing for the inevitable assault.

The roar of rockets could be heard as they left their tubes and the light of their flames lit up the dark night sky. Geysers of dirt lept into the air as trench positions were smashed and men ripped apart. The shrill yell of the whistle ordered the 200 soldiers and 12 Mechs of the 4th task force to charge...

Franco-Italian Front
With the German intervention, the Italian High Command orders a new offensive to take place. This one, to cripple the French forces once and for all.
The 2nd Battle of Annecy ended in an Italian victory, and a large force of French and British forces were encircled at Thonon. The Italians closed the pocket, and advanced to the Rhône River. After a concentrated assault, the cities of Grenoble, Gap, and Sisteron fell to Italian forces. A large offensive concentrated Southward crossed the Verdon River. Italian tanks quickly drove to and conquered the city of La Ciotat. Marseille soon fell to Italian forces as well, and a large encirclement was created around Toulon.

Mediterranean Front
In Malta, the islands of Gozo and Kemmuna fell to Italian marines. Fighting in the main island is still taking place. No word from the approaching Royal Navy ships as of yet. The French Navy is all but obliterated, due to a continued bombardment of French ports in the Mediterranean.

Africa Front
Italians made major gains against the French in northern Algeria. Italian forces crossed the Mountains De Nemencha and Mountains De La Medjerda, and advanced to the city of Philippville. They managed to conquer the towns of Zeribet-el-Oued, Kehncheia, Ain Beida, and Oued Zenati. Italian forces cross the Libyan border into Egypt. British border defenses were overwhelmed, as Italians blitzed through the Libyan Desert. Italian forces soon reach the city of El Alamein, where the British have put up a fierce resistance. No change in the Frontlines in East Africa.
