I get that, but we have it now, and it's taught in public schools, but you still have it as a part of his power and weaknesses, that he does, in fact, get powers from a supernatural entity. So I'm holding the app until that is adjusted to fit the rest of the app and our lore.

Question: What's the consensus on pocket dimensions and could one draw things from as a power?

Well basically this pocket dimension is a (As far as the meta can currently tell) infinite pocket of Programmable matter (Computronium, Smart Materials, etc) And they can draw from this dimension to create weapons and armor. Though there are restraints such as how much power is needed (For example, a portable gasoline generator would only be capable of producing a light suit of armor, though a large nuclear reactor could create for all intents and purposes a Bolo.), the constructs are very vulnerable to external energy surges and can be somewhat interfered with by technopaths, regeneration is rather difficult because of how the drawing works, etc.

I'm going to put the breaks on this now just because of how swiss army knife it can be. It poses the same level of applicability as magic so I will most likely not accept it.

The things built by it have to be designed first, and there are currently only two modes currently working(Default modes, you could call em):

STUDENT FILE

Name: Arno Jabulani
Alias: Slangbyt (Afrikaans for snake bite)
Age: 24
Year: 2nd Year
Gender: Male
Image

Image

Powers:
  • Echolocation: Arno can emit a high-pitched noise, inaudible to human ears, that can give him a pinpoint on objects that may not be visible to the human eye up to 400 meters, depending on interference.
  • Neuron Overload: Arno's neurons can fire at a rate almost three times that of a regular human, meaning that he can make his muscles willingly move at incredible speeds. This enables Arno's fast-twitch muscles to be extremely quick. This also greatly improves his reflexes.
  • Enhanced Physiology: To come with his neurons, Arno's body is developed several steps past Olympic athletes. This is almost a necessity, as the stress put on his body by the quick movements he is able to do would break down a normal human's muscles.
  • Enlarged Adrenal Glands: In stressful situations, Arno's adrenal glands can pump out double the amount of adrenaline that a normal human's can. His strength, speed, and awareness can be greatly enhanced through this.

Drawbacks & Limitations:
  • Muscle Stress: As mentioned before, Arno's ability to fire his neurons quickly puts extreme duress on his body. This cannot be maintained very long before either his body completely overheats and he collapses, or his muscles simply split apart at the seams.
  • Echolocation Interference: Arno's echolocation works best with minimal interference. Too much noise or contradictory frequencies will mess him up.
  • Rage Factor: Arno's enhanced adrenal glands, combined with the savage instinct that was bred within him by his makers, can make him a massive liability to any team. His rage can go out of control extremely quick, and endanger everyone around him.

Weaknesses: Arno is hotheaded and quick to violence, and he has a tendency to pursue goals too far.

Equipment and weapons:

BACKGROUND

Nationality: The original was South African.
Hometown: Johannesburg

Personality: Smooth, sarcastic, and silver-tongued, Arno is a character through and through. He has a tendency to be overconfident, but balances it with an extreme drive to perform to the highest of his ability. On this note, he is driven to accomplish whatever goal he may set his mind to at the present moment. Morally flexible and ethically questionable, Arno has a tendency to bend the rules to get the mission done, but is often of the mind that the ends justify the means if the end-state is desirable enough. He is fiercely protective of his friends and of the weak and disadvantaged. Arno does not give his respect out freely, it has to be earned. He is often mistrustful of strangers until they can prove themselves.

Bio: Part of a United States initiative code-named "Mike Delta", Arno was never born. He was made in a tank. Cloned from a South African citizen who emigrated to the United States and eventually found his way into the military, he was given powers through experimentation and born artificially. His growth was accelerated until he was a fully developed human at 19. Then, he was "born" from his tank with all the necessary training and indoctrination to be a killer. Fitted with the best equipment, and barely having the time to question his orders, he was shipped off to accompany several Tier One units within combat zones around the world. He officially did not exist, which made his life much easier when the Green Beret unit he was accompanying in Niger was ambushed and almost entirely destroyed while recovering from a mission. Arno escaped with relative ease, fleeing back to the United States with what little money and personal effects he had.

However, it wasn't long into his hiding that he found his instincts kick in. He had to fight, he was made for it. He jumped around several private contractors for a while, eventually earning himself some infamy in the criminal underground for being a notorious hitman. The target on his back grew bigger every day, and he went crawling back to the United States government for aid when his enemies nearly killed him in a raid on his compound.

It was during this time that Arno met another metahuman who had been in the same employment situation: Darius Ypsilantis. The mercenary-turned-hero mentored Arno through the confusion and anger that he felt, and convinced him to attend the Institute. Despite the fact that Darius never truly graduated, leaving to marry his wife and to pursue a career outside the frontline of combat, he told Arno of the virtues of the Academy and the way that it transformed Darius into the man he was today. Knowing this, Arno attended an open tryout hosted by Cypher and passed with flying colors, receiving an invite to attend the Institute.

His time at the Institute has been both a boon and a curse. Arno still struggles with the nature of his existence, and what he was meant to do on this planet. He is unsure about what he is, or why he is here. However, the Academy's education program and psychological aid staff has developed his mind to the point where he has become, in his own right, a real person. He now enjoys the company of other students, and is capable of suppressing the part of his brain that consistently tells him to pull the trigger.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Fears/Phobias: The unknown, himself and the extent of his powers,
Skills: Extremely dangerous in close-medium range combat, decent tactician.
Theme: They are rage, brutal, without mercy. But you. You will be worse.

What powers would your character have to even make it plausible for him to utilize Computronium?

Theories and postulations say it pushes the limits of conceivably programmable data. It requires an absurd amount of processing power to actually be able to utilize. It's "unobtanium" as it were.

STUDENT FILE

Name: Allen Crane
Alias: Overgrowth
Age: 20
Year: 2nd Year
Gender: Male
Image

Image

Powers:
  • Botanokinesis- Crane has a strong connection to plants, with is powers allowing him to manipulate them at will, and even somewhat unconsciously. Cane can cause plants to spontaneously put on growth spurts and control the direction of their growing, making them act as if they had muscles and sentience. The targets of his powers will also mutate their DNA in order to bend to his will. The apex of this ability of the creation of an organism he calls a Floran. A humanoid shaped plant that may seem partially sentient from time to time.
  • Biokinesis- Crane's powers partially translate to other, more advanced life forms as well. He can help heal other's injuries and make minor body modifications.
  • Crane's powers can be used on himself, giving him a slight healing factor.

Drawbacks & Limitations:
  • Crane cannot create biomass from nothing. While he can increase the rate of growth, the plants still need access to materials to consume and metabolize
  • Plants, he can control at a range of roughly 100 feet off the cuff, and up to over 500 feet with focus, however to use his general biokinesis he needs to touch the target.

Weaknesses: Dehydration can be extremely hazardous to his unique physiology, requiring above-average fluid intake.

Equipment and weapons: 1 Floran

BACKGROUND

Nationality: American
Hometown: St. George, Utah

Personality: A bit reserved and slow to trust. Crane is a nice guy once you get to no him. He isn't loud or boastful, but he'll laugh along when he's comfortable. In strange situations he tends to clam up and try to keep his head down. When he feels threatened, especially from someone in a perceived office of authority, he tends to become combative.

Bio: Crane's father was a geneticist with a promising future at a small, private research institution. It didn't pay amazingly, with him receiving only a portion of the grant money after most of it was already spent. That left Crane's mother to be the primary breadwinner, but they were well enough off. Mr. Crane was doing work that would change the world, something that caused a young Allen to be enraptured with his view of his father as a hero. Everything was picturesque for the longest time, but the beginning of the end came when Mr. Crane's research drew the interest of one of the most prominent biotech companies in the world; promising him a sizable wage.

Mr. Crane saw it as a opportunity to help his research he couldn't turn down despite the words of concern from his wife. That marked the beginning of his downward spiral. He started letting events slip, not showing up to parent teacher night, working late, spending weekends in the lab. Roadblocks began to appear, slowing his team's progress, and drawing ire from the corporation that demanded constant progress. The stress drove Mr. Crane to the bottle, and drove more and more stakes between him and his family. A once kind and gentle man fell until he was no longer recognizable as either a father or husband. Crane's mother finally had enough, and after an explosive argument Mr. Crane was thrown out of their home.

Crane and his Mother tried to move on, but they weren't out of the woods yet. Several weeks later, Allen woke up in the middle of the night to his Father dragging him out of bet and hurriedly throwing a coat over his shoulders and hissing for him to be quiet. The noise stirred Allen's mother who tried to break Mr. Crane's grip on their son, but the crazed man pulled a hidden gun from his jacket pocket and fired a single round. Without bothering to learn its effects, Mr. Crane pulled the now terrified Allen from the home and into his car.

Allen doesn't remember much more from that night, only trying to stay silent while his father ranted and raved while he sped away from anything that resembled safety. After what seemed like an eternity only moments at the same time, Allen remembered being drug into an unmarked building where Mr. Crane's lab was located and being strapped into a chair with is father's dead eyes peering over a green mask. After that he woke up in a hospital room with an arm guard stationed at the door.

Once the dust settled, Allen was reunited with his mother who survived the gunshot and managed to call the police who stormed the lab. Mr. Crane was no where to be found, but Allen was still in the chair with vines growing from his body. He was registered, but otherwise unscathed. It took several years of therapy, but eventually, Allen came to terms with what happened, and became determined to make some good come from his misfortune.

Hm.
How about a set of Power Armor(s)?
Like, a light one with few weapons but good mobility, a medium one with decent weapons and mobility, and a heavy one with lots of weapons but low mobility, along with various esoteric ones meant for environments where the baseline ones don't function well. (An amphibious one, for example.)

These of course all have their own obvious drawbacks. The real difficulty is in keeping track of them.

Ark, if you have an idea, make an app for it instead of just asking us about different powers. We'd be more willing to work with you if you gave us a full app.

STUDENT FILE

Name: Dinara Smirnov
Alias: Frostbite or the Black Hand
Age: 21
Year: 3
Gender: female
Image

N/A

Powers:
Frostbite: As soon as skin contact is made between her and another person, Dinara can inflict the damage of frostbite on him. The longer the contact, the more damaging the frostbite becomes; up to the point where the affected area must be amputated just like frostbite formed through natural exposure to the cold. And depending on the area where the frostbite is inflicted upon such as the face or chest, the results may lead to fatality.

Cold Front: Dinara projects an aura of a 10 feet radius in which temperature in that range drops 80 degrees Fahrenheit or 26.66 degrees Celsius at will. For example: if the temperature is 80 degrees outside, in her aura it drops to 0 degrees Fahrenheit. She could also project her cold front onto heated objects to quickly cool them down to prevent overheating.

Cold resistance: Dinara is highly resistant to extremely cold temperatures and immune to frostbite, both natural and her own.
Drawbacks & Limitations:

In terms of her frostbite infliction, a layer of clothing on her hands or on the person is enough to prevent frostbite. In order for the frostbite to reach full potential, Dinara has to maintain constant contact with the same area for 14 seconds. As for Cold Front, heavy winter clothing is sufficient in countering the extremely low temperatures.

Weaknesses: Bit of an isolationist since her powers could sometimes lead to unsavory results, especially when making friends and relationships.

Equipment and weapons: a pair of winter clothes and snow boots

BACKGROUND

Nationality: Russian
Hometown: Novgorod, Russia

Personality: Though friendly and eager to please, Dinara often held herself back to avoid creating accidents with her powers. Like Siberia, Dinara can be relentless and unforgiving if she needs to be.

Bio: Born July 14, 1998, Dabria Smirnov was born into a family of ethnic Russians that dated back as far as the Crimean War. Her father was an specialist engineer who studied abroad and went on international business trips so he had to leave the house every now and then. During her first 12 years, her life was uneventful as she went to school normally and lived at home normally. Her powers did not become known until she accidentally gave some degree of frostbite to he mother's hand. It seemed obvious at first that Dabria would become a metahuman working for the safety of Russia, but instead her father quickly contained the news to only her own family with the only exception being her grandfather from dad's side of the family.

By the time the Ukrainian Crisis erupted, her father was well invested on leaving the country in search of a better life. Though he doesn't approve of how violent things were evolving, he told Dabria that though he is a Russian man first he wants her to be happy to find a good usage out of her powers because right now she hasn't matured enough to avoid accidents yet. With paranoia of the Russian government taking her away, her father quickly scrapped together enough money to move to the US to finally get away.

After thinking that the pressure was off and hearing about the school that trains the next generation of heroes, Dabria was sent to the academy to train to use her powers for the forces of good. It was all so sudden but she hoped that she will do well in this school and not accidentally cause someone to get amputated.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Fears/Phobias: Afraid of her frostbite powers killing someone unintentionally
Skills: An iron grip, once she holds on she won't let go
Theme:Winter is coming

The cold front shouldn't be on constantly, and I don't like the fact that her powers instantly cause frostbite. Why not, instead of inflicting a status effect on another, she could launch projectiles of ice, or create blasts of cold from her hands?

What? I wanted to try out Frostbite this around. I thought the drawbacks made it balanced.

STUDENT FILE

Name: Jana Lux
Alias: Bloodlust
Age: 18
Year: 1st
Gender: Female
Image

A mass of blood red goo, change once it gets to a certain size.

Powers:
Sanguine Control-Jana can manipulate blood, turning it into a solid blade, a whiplike tendril, or assimilating it into her other abilities.
Sanguis Sanationis(Bloody Healing)-Tied into Sanguine Control, Jana can consume blood to heal wounds.
Armorum Sanguinis(Blood Armor)-Producing a quantity of blood-like material from an organ around her throat, Jana can envelope herself in a durable suit of biological armor, though any increases in size have to be caused by absorption of blood, although Jana can still manipulate this as if it were actual blood.

Drawbacks & Limitations:
Sanguine Control-Jana must be able to see the blood of her target in order to manipulate it, and even then her abilities are sluggish unless it's a substantial cut. Cannot manipulate her own blood.
Sanguis Santionis-She cannot regenerate severe or crippling injuries, severed limbs, while their blood can be manipulated, are incapable of being regenerated.
Armorum Sanguinis-Vulnerable to fire, as previously mentioned requires absorption of blood to increase size.
Weaknesses:
Vampiric- Jana has an unusual craving for blood, fresh blood, Iron rich foods can help keep it at bay, but every once in a while she needs to...feed.

Equipment and weapons: two custom made clawed gloves, a few small flasks of blood so that she isn't incapable of using Sanguine Control

Why would someone like this be accepted into an academy? And what's to stop her from ripping all the blood out of someone's body from a single little nick?

What drawbacks? You don't have any drawbacks, and only the most basic limitations. You'll need to expand it and give a time of effect before frostbite sets in.

.

To answer the underlined, I specifically stated in the app that the amount of control she has over another person's blood is related to how big the cut is.
A papercut isn't going to do anything, a small cut grants small amounts of control but it is very localized, a decent-sized cut can be harmful depending on where it is, and a large cut is going to be lethal depending on where it is.
Though I do see your point on the non-underlined, back to the drawing board I go.
