Maybe I should develop my runes based on alchemy. Magic that adjusts the matter of materials. First it does decomposition, breaking down the unwanted material this will create energy for the reconstruction phase. Then it does the reconstruction phase, the replacement matter and the new and different material.

This magic should be able to change the properties of the said material, changing the materials shape/properties. There will be some rules that balance this magic out, like can’t convert living matter into metal, and etc.

As the extra source of energy, it take energy from earth’s below. Taking a small amount of power from the earth for the magic spell. Likely small and irrelevant for now, but may take its toll the longer it takes.
