Kegyeleem: Magic and Realms

For years, the civilized tribes lived in peace and harmony in Kegyeleem on the supercontinent known as Haza. Until the World Killers attacked ...
The World Killers - vile beasts, with the appearance of demons, but the powers of gods. These two kinds clashed - man, and the World Killers who called themselves “Sakatkin”. It was a bloody conflict that lasted for generations.
Mankind was on the verge of destruction. But then, legend has it that in the final battle of the War for Kegyeleem, the Battle for Haza, a man showed up. Blessed by the gods, he used all the power of the gods at once to smite the World Killers and finally end the war between the two species. This legendary figure is commonly known as the Light Bringer.
However, the blow was too destructive for Kegyeleem to handle. Using all the power of the gods at once had consequences. So, in order so mankind wouldn’t perish, they say that the gods of Kegyeleem split up Haza into five continents - Tulivag (east), Goggled (north), Vutreshnost (middle), Zuid-land (south), and Amrica (west). This period is known as the Drift, which took place over the course of a hundred years.
Centuries after in 700 AD (After Drift), on the continent of Tulivag, humanity and the civilized species are once again prosperous, living in peace and harmony. However, some say otherwise. Some say that one day, the Sakatkin will rise again to wreak havoc on mankind. And, the Light Bringer will be reborn as the King to Come, and he’ll have to return to smite the World Killers once more.

Chapter 1

800 years have passed since the Sakatkin beasts have been eradicated, when the world was once a feuded battleground between humans and the World Killers. Humanity and the related species rule the world, scattered in the many continents building civilizations and kingdoms.

In the continent of Tulivag, the Empire of Nosewagania under Emperor Horcegus II has conquered it's long time rival Sakatia, consuming every bit of land it had. But there are rumors of rebellion breaking out among the counts and dukes in the conquered land, what shall become of the great Empire? And more importantly, how will the realms and people in Tulivag play into this?

Chapter 2

The stage is set.

Destiny will come. As new faces show up continuing their quests and crusades, they shall find out their destinies and what it means for each of them.

World tensions are rising. The realms once enjoyed a great period of peace and prosperity, but now they’ve found new quarrels. War will come. It’s not a matter of if, but when. So, what will be the catalyst to spark rebellion, and war? And, how will each Realm fit into it?

And finally, a red comet has come, flashing across the night sky for all living things in Kegyeleem to see. “To herald his arrival, a star of red shall shine bright across the night sky,” as it says in the King to Come prophecy. If the prophecy is true, then that means the King to Come has come. So, who is the King Who Has Come, the new Light Bringer? And, what does this mean for Kegyeleem?

War is coming. A red comet heralds the King and Savior’s arrival. What will this mean for the destiny of Kegyeleem and all those in it? We shall see, for it all depends on the realms and the people in it.

How this will work/Game Mechanics

Hello, everyone, and welcome to Kegyeleem! A world of magic and realms! There may be some questions, so I'll clarify what I can.
This is a medieval fantasy rp. Basically, it's a world where magic exists and there are different continents and it’s medieval tech. It shall take place on the continent of Tulivag. This will be more character-based, but there's room for military rp.
You will fill out an application. You have two choices: play as a realm and ruler of a realm, or as just a character within Tulivag and/or a realm in Tulivag. If you play as a realm, then please also fill out an app for a character for a better description of the leader of that realm. As I said, this will be more character based.
Provided you follow the simple rules we have, you can rp your character and/or realm in this magical world. If you use magic, make sure you ask the other recipient for permission. Looming in the background, Co-OPs Oppermenia and Dyllonia will be rping the development of the main storyline, which will be divided into multiple chapters.

Rules

1. No godmodding. This means you can not dictate what other character say, do, or how much damage they (or their forces) take in violent scenarios like brawls and militaristic combat UNLESS YOU HAVE THEIR PERMISSION.

2. No instant movement. This is part of godmodding. The rule means that you can't instantly transport armies and/or characters to other lands. Like an army in one continent can't transport itself to another in a single post or a character cannot visit another kingdom without a post indicating their travel. Be realistic in timing.

3. Keep OOC (out of character) comments out of IC (in character) thread(s) whenever you can; we don't want our RP to be mixed up in OOC arguments where others are roleplaying.

4. No OP technology or character. No firearms or modern weapons rifles or machine guns. This is set in medieval times and medieval technology is what we will use. Also no character can be overpowered; like your character cannot be an immortal god who cannot be killed. ALL CHARACTERS MUST BE KILLABLE

5. When doing a military roleplay storyline, please discuss how the battle will go with the other player involved before you rp it. This way, things will be simpler. Also, if you do a war, have a causus beli.

6. Have fun!

Now, Dyllonia and I will be participating in the rp, as well as filling out applications. This is mainly to help out people who are beginners and might be confused about some things.

Personality: He is very honorbound. He makes decisions based on honor and pride, and holds those things very dear. He is also a good leader. He can come off as emotionless due to his lack of sense of humor, but is a loving father
Strengths and skills: Diplomacy, making the right decision
Magic Abilities: He has a weird genetic predisposition that gives him a mystical connection to wolves, although he’s not aware of the extent of this connection.
Flaws and weaknesses: His pride can sometimes work against him
Wealth and special possessions: (Sum up the characters overall wealth and resources at their disposal and also give good descriptions of important unique or especially treasured possessions) He owns a vast estate attached to House Opperman, including Oppermanor. He has a lot of money, his own army. He owns the scepter of Opperman, and a crown jewel which he does not wear because he bends the knee to Horcegus.
Biography: When he was a boy, Gregori loved his father. His father, Grand Duke Nikel Opperman, was a great man who taught Gregori of pride, honor, morals, ethics, mercy, family. Values that a good leader must have. Gregori thought highly of his father and his father’s leadership style and tried his best to live up to it. Now, he’s inherited the Duchy, and is Grand Duke Gregori Opperman of Oppermanson after his father died unexpectedly. Is he up to this responsibility?

Magic Tradition(s): Wolvenists worship the Great Wolf, believed to grant worshippers strength. Some say this can give people magic abilities like psychic and spiritual abilities. Oppermenians also have a mystical genetic connection to wolves.
Foreign policies/agendas: stay loyal to the Nosewaganian empire, protect itself and lend any aid to the Empire or any smaller realms being trampled by other realms.

History: Once, there was a tribe. It was called the ElksPack. From the ElksPack came an Alpha known as Opperman Omulus (son of Omulus), who united all the Third Men tribes and villages they had raided and conquered into an empire. The Oppermenian empire, as it is now called. He set up Oppermanson as the capital, proclaiming himself King of Oppermanson and Emperor of the Empire he had built. He also built the home of his family: Oppermanor. Despite him having many children, he didn’t choose any as successors. He chose Kerr to be his successor as Emperor, which started the decline of the Empire. House Opperman still ruled as Kings of Oppermanson and Lords of Oppermanor.
Pretty soon, the Empire fell as it couldn’t find any rulers that could rule exactly like Opperman. No one matched his firm but loving hold on the realm. So it declined, and eventually broke apart.
The six Grand Houses ruled their own realms as Kings after that. They were allies in a sort of confederation, but still different realms. And so, due to the weak state of the Oppermenian realms, a young Nosewaganian Monarch saw this as an opportunity. He levied the might of Nosewagania’s military (mainly navy) against the Oppermenian peninsula in the name of conquest to better the Nosewaganian Empire. The Realms tried to quash the invasion, but because of a lack of strong leadership over the Realms, the invasion succeeded. They were now apart of Nosewagania.
Because the Nosewaganian Emperor hadn’t lived in the Oppermenian peninsula, and he wanted to gain the trust of the Oppermenians, he decided to let the Kings in the Oppermenian peninsula vote on a vassal to rule them as a smaller vassal constitutional monarchy within a larger one. They voted on the King of Oppermanson, a Grand Lord of House Opperman. This Opperman bent the knee to his new Emperor, and the Emperor was named King of Oppermanson and the Lord of the Oppermenian peninsula. Grand Lord Opperman was given the titles Grand Duke of Oppermanson, and High Warden of the Oppermenian peninsula and all who inhabit. The Grand Houses below him were made the Grand Lords of their realms. And so, Oppermanson and the realms of the Oppermenian peninsula were now part of Nosewagania. They remain loyal to Nosewagania to this day. The current Grand Duke is Gregori Opperman.

Personality: pretty emotionless, very spiritual person, in tune with things
Strengths and skills: She knows how to utilize info given to her
Magic Abilities: mental magic like mind reading, mind manipulation, mental barriers, sometimes telekinesis, telling the future; channing the Great Wolf’s power; extend strength to others; is very powerful, but she hasn’t used the full extent of her powers; connections to wolves
Flaws and weaknesses: her love for the Opperman family
Wealth and special possessions: a red cloak of the High Priestess of the Church of Wolven, an amulet with a white jewel
Biography: She never knew her parents. All she remembers is just scavenging to survive. She’s also always had these weird abilities, these visions she could never quite understand. Eventually, a High Priest of the Church of Wolven sensed her abilities. He took her in and raised her like his own daughter. He taught her of the Great Wolf and her connection to Him, and that’s what is giving her those abilities. He brought her into the Church of Wolven and trained her to hone her abilities and help people and serve the Great Wolf. Then, things changed in a tragic night. Their home was ransacked by an Oppermenian lord of smaller significance. They told the High Priest to bend the knee to the lord, but he wouldn’t do it. They killed him. By succession rights, she held the High Priestess title now. She was shocked, but she knew it was for a reason. They wanted to kill her, but she persuaded them she was of value. A High Priestess of the Great Wolf, and they can use her. Reluctantly, they took her in as an advisor. She was the “representative of the Great Wolf in the mortal plane” to advise them on matters. She rose in the ranks and became a top advisor of the Grand Duke of Oppermanson. But now, he’s died. She has Gregori to advise now.

Like, part of Nosewagania? If that's what you mean, then no. Players who apply for a realm can have an independent state, but can also have it as a smaller state of a larger one if they want to.

Realm Name: The Qallupilluit Clans
Location/Territory claimed(check map): The Qallupilluit are aquatic nomads who live at the bottom of the northern ocean, with their westernmost border roughly corresponding to 10, and their easternmost border roughly corresponding to 262. The bays and coastlines are controlled by surface-dwellers, however. Additionally, some Qallupilluit clans have colonized the surface - 10, 33, 34, 35, and 261 are controlled by them. The 67th Godfall is located to the northeast of 35, while the 68th Godfall is located in the waters between 26 and 143. (The two Godfalls are the closest things the Qallupilluit have to capitals.)

System of government: Theocratic confederation: Under normal circumstances, the Qallupilluit live in disunited nomadic clans, which are each no larger than a few related families, and have no formal leadership. However, the older members of the clan, and each clan's trshaman, have some informal authority. Shamans choose their successors from the most magically-gifted members of their clan, but generally will pick one of their own daughters. Shamans are tasked with performing protective and medical magic, scouting the waters above, performing rituals over scavenged bones, settling disputes and enforcing laws, and preserving the clan's oral history.

During a Godfall, the shamans of all the gathered clans elect one of their own as a "High Shaman", to lead the clans and perform necessary rituals. The High Shaman thanks the Leviathan for its sacrifice, purifies its soul, and begs the Sea-Mother for more blessings. She also officially declares the beginning and end of the Godfall, and commands the collective military of the Qallupilluit if war becomes necessary.
Significant Sub-realms: The 67th Godfall, the 68th Godfall, various nomadic clans who do not partake of the Godfalls for whatever reason.

The Qallupilluit, known by most surface-dwellers as "Fish-Hags", are an aquatic species of scavengers that live at the bottom of the seafloor. Qallupilluit resemble human women with pale skin and black hair, but their skin has a green tinge to it, their eyes and blood are entirely black, they lack noses, they have radial mouths resembling a lamprey's, and their digits are long and webbed for rapidly moving through the water. What appears to be "hair" growing from the back of their heads are actually thin feathery setae, which look black due to the black blood passing through them. The Qallupilluit use these setae to filter oxygen from the surrounding water or air, and will suffocate if they are severed.

Qallupilluit live in symbiosis with a virus that has infected their entire population. This virus makes the Qallupilluit unable to consume anything but bone, but allows them to see even in the lightless depths they inhabit, renders them immune to other diseases, allows them to survive on land for extended periods, and makes their blood extremely toxic to non-Qallupilluit. Qallupilluit are able to vomit up their toxic blood as an attack.

Qallupilluit begin life as millimeter-long non-sapient larvae, birthed in large numbers. Female larvae will eventually develop into fully-grown Qallupilluit, but male larvae remain larvae. Adult females consume large numbers of male larvae to induce reproduction.

Under normal circumstances, the Qallupilluit are semi-nomadic scavenger-gatherers, who primarily consume marine snow and animal bones that have fallen to the bottom of the abyssal plain. They also practice animal husbandry, raising dark hoppers, (Horse-sized transparent crustaceans that resemble fleas, used for transportation.) yeti shrimp, (Cow-sized pale white shrimp with yellow-brown setae, raised for their bones and skin.) and scissor worms. (Massive pale white worms with heads the size of small houses, which resemble Bobbit worms and are ridden in battle.)

Religion(s): Qallupilluit religion is a form of monotheistic animism, worshipping a variety of nameless spirits and a deity known as the "Sea-Mother". The Sea-Mother is believed to be an ancient Qallupilluit who was abducted by surface-dwelling demons. Her hair was shaved off by them, but instead of dying, she transformed into the first Leviathan, while her shorn hair became all the different creatures of the land and sea. While she cannot return to her people in her new form, she sends blessings to the Qallupilluit in the form of her Leviathan children. She is also considered the first mage in Qallupilluit culture.
Magic Tradition(s): Qallupilluit mages are taught by their clan's shaman, and are usually first in line to inherit the position. Qallupilluit shamans are skilled manipulators of flesh and bone, and do so both to heal and to harm. They are also, perhaps unsurprisingly, well-versed in the manipulation of the waters around them.
Foreign policies/agendas: The Qallupilluit are in a state of prolonged conflict with humanity, one which will likely never end, as the Qallupilluit do not have the numbers to engage in open warfare, and humans cannot directly attack the underwater Qallupilluit homeland. Qallupilluit regularly raid coastal villages, and human ships will go out of their way to attack Qallupilluit scouts and surface colonies. Human parents tell their children not to play near the sea, out of fear that a Qallupilluit will grab them and drown them.
Trade (Imports/exports/policies): Some clans engage in limited trade with non-hostile surface-dwellers, exporting unique jewelry and animal parts that can only be found at the bottom of the sea, and importing metal weaponry.

History: Leviathans are enormous creatures resembling whales with the shells of turtles, which can grow as large as five kilometers long at full size. Leviathans typically roam throughout the southern oceans, eating krill and oceanic plants, and growing elaborate ecosystems on their shells. However, like all living things, Leviathans eventually grow old and die. When a Leviathan senses that it is near death, it will migrate to the cold sea to the north of Tulivag, where it will die, and fall to the bottom of the seafloor. Leviathans are very rare and exceptionally long-lived, so these deaths only occur once every hundred years or so. When a Leviathan dies and falls to the bottom of the sea, Qallupilluit congregate around the corpse, and consume it over a period of two or three decades, leading to a massive population boom, followed by a slow regression to the mean after the corpse is picked clean. Qallupilluit refer to both the location of these corpses and the time period over which they are consumed as "Godfalls", as they believe Leviathans are the divine children of the Sea-Mother.

The Qallupilluit calendar measures time in terms of how many Godfalls there have been since the mythical creation of the world, and how many years have passed since the most recent Godfall began. For example, most Qallupilluit clans consider the present year to be Year 11 of the 68th Godfall.

Qallupilluit oral tradition holds that they first encountered humans a hundred and one years after the 55th Godfall, a few centuries prior to the Drift. Qallupilluit shamans were tracking an elderly Leviathan, hoping to guide it into their territory to bolster the chances of it dying there and falling to the seafloor. Instead, the creature was attacked and killed by a human fleet, who dragged it onto shore with magic in order to construct a castle out of its shell. The shamans organized an army to raid the human settlement and recover as much of the Leviathan's corpse as possible, but they were defeated and executed. The Qallupilluit went hungry for another two decades, and never forgot it. Thus began the ancient feud between humanity and the "Fish-Hags", which has become self-perpetuating.

During the Sakatian War against Nosewagania, Dyllonus would take a firm stance against Nosewagania aggressors despite Észak-föld's close proximity to the border. Grigori Vodovenko was the first Tsar. Grigori then built up the military of the Empire, making it the most feared fighting force on the continent. Grigori died ten years later of a heart attack at the age of 70. His son, Alexei, would go on to not only build up the military even more, but to also build up the empires industrial complex. Alexei would soon die in combat at the age of 36. His son, the current Tsar Vladimir, has now been in power for twenty years. He is continuously building up the military and the empires industrial complex. Vladimir has one son, Nikolai.
Additional Information: All citizens are armed and are military trained. The Empire has a standing military of 800 000 troops. Armed with blades made of Siberian steel, they are the most elite fighting force on the continent. In the military there is the regular infantry. After that are the teams who man the catapults, battering rams and ballistas. After which we have the archers. The best marksmen in the land, they never miss their target. After this we have the sorcerers, who act as doctors as well as casting curses on the enemy. They also use build bombs that contain diseases that can be used on the battlefield. Then we have the elite cavalry unit, the imperial cossacks, considered the most barbaric soldiers in the military, they are expert swordsman and horse-riders. Finally, we have the Okhrana. These elite soldiers are the deadliest troops in the Empire's military. These warriors specialize in espionage, sabotage, reconnaissance and assassination. They are masters of disguise. There is no area that they cannot infiltrate, no person they cannot kill or become and there is no secret that they cannot uncover. Trained from birth, they are the deadliest soldiers on the battlefield.
