Yunix Superweapon, Orbit of Ire, Bavern System
17th Helios (17th April), 1930 Hours (Ire Time), 1503 AGW

Michael found himself on his knees, the hangar spinning. Blood leaked from his left temple, spattering the floor in little crimson circles. More blood oozed from the tip of his fingers. Immense pain blurred his vision and clouded his thinking. Gingerly, he placed his unwounded hand to his left temple and felt the warm, sticky blood, fresh; the wound recent. A haze of dark smoke congealed near the ceiling and blackened air that brought a foul stench of melted rubber, and ozone. He thought he caught the faint smell of decaying flesh, but he was not so sure.

The rapid flashes of light, which he could not make out, made his movements seem jerky, like a marionette swaying around in unpracticed hands. His whole body ached and felt as if he had been beaten. His skull felt as if someone had driven a nail through it. He continued to move towards a figure, his eyes unable to focus. He found it hard to focus on anything as his field of vision started to spin. His bleary eyes watered from the smoke. The little starburst of lights, coupled with the sound of gunfire, disoriented him, preventing him from gathering his thoughts.

What happened? He could not remember. Far worse, he could not think straight. Michael continued to wobble and sway, nausea pushing bile into the back of his throat. And then he felt it: a strong tackle. He fell once again, his head colliding with the ground. The pain in his temple spiked, a white-hot flash of agony that summoned a prolonged scream. He steeled himself against the pain in his head and stood on weak legs. A voice spoke; he could hear it faintly.

"Are you alright?" she asked.

Michael squinted his eyes, attempting to identify who it was. His mind was in such a daze that even by voice, he was not able to recognise. He felt a stinging sensation in his left arm for a moment, as if a needle was injected. After a while, his vision started to improve and his consciousness began to return to normal. He looked at the girl who had just saved him from a gunshot. It was Tesex. He scanned his surroundings, the sight of heavy fighting between Republic troopers and Rebels flooded the entire main hangar, with many Republic ships severely damaged.

"Have you made contact with Yanu'Kai?"

Tesex nodded. "They should be arriving at any time soon. At least they can provide some much-needed artillery against the enemy."

Michael ran towards the far corner, where the rifles were placed. He grabbed one and tossed it to Tesex, and took another for himself. They shot a few rebel troops as they retreated back to the corridor. Michael spotted a starship approaching the hangar, firing at the battlefield. Michael could care less if there were Republic troopers killed by the ship. The ship cleared most of the enemies, docking at the vacant bay towards Michael's right.

With the situation at the main hangar brought under control, Yanu'Kai, Glenn, Sojan, Riflona and Ainz exited the ship. Michael was glad to see the success of the rescue mission but knew better that the war was far from over. Within weeks, the rebels have seized control of several planets within the Republic, including the capital of Dieusia. The Grand 11 needed to talk it over on the subsequent course of action they will take to turn the tide of the war back into their favour.

Glenn sprinted towards Michael and wasted no time. "Get the rest here, now!" Glenn ordered. "We don't have much time. The rebels have a weapon of their own. Our defence shields are damaged and this entire superweapon will be destroyed. We got to evacuate!"

Michael could not believe what he just heard. It did not make much sense to him that the weapon he built was going to be destroyed. Then it occurred to him. Cherilyn and Mandy knew the flaws of the weapon. A simple tactic by the rebels would destroy the superweapon. But what weapon was Glenn talking about? He had no time to ponder about that thought. He contacted Fang Hook, Exiyu, Jixu and Jaygini and within a few minutes, all of them were in the hangar.

"Get in the ship!" bellowed Yanu'Kai, who appeared to be more anxious than ever before. "We gotta get out of here! We'll cloak ourselves so that the rebels won't know we escaped."

The ship flew out of the hangar unnoticed, the Grand 11 escaping their doom by the skin of their teeth. As they flew away, they saw the rebel cruisers entering from hyperspace and a beam of hot magma penetrated the weapon so viciously. The damage was far greater than Michael could imagine. It was far stronger than the Yunix Superweapon. The Republic was on the run. To remain under the radar, Michael knew it was necessary. However, he needed to discuss it with the rest. For now, only an atmosphere of relief shrouded the ship, glad that they made it out alive.

Aboard Michael Spencer's personal Cruiser, somewhere in the Bavern System
18th Helios (18th April), 0600 Hours (ZG Time), 1503 AGW

It wasn't long after takeoff that Yanu'Kai realized their ship was being followed despite cloaking their presence earlier, there was an unfamiliar static coming from 50 meters behind the ship. She sprang up from her rest and swiftly trod past the main hangar towards the pilot room. Her meridian blue armour was still stained with the dried blood of weak men and the stench of rebel corpses wafted in the air as she made her way. It had almost been twelve hours since they evacuated from the the decimated Yunix superweapon but Yanu'Kai was still dead on her feet after having to save her comrades twice in a row.

"Geez, Yanu'Kai you could've at least taken a bath. You smell like those boonies who live down by the pits in Jek. Remember that?" Glenn stammered, pausing in-between his sentence to catch some fresh air. Insulted, the moment she stepped afoot the room, Yanu'Kai replied sharply,

"Don't compare my cleanliness to planet dwellers as dry as your humour, Scheinred..."

"Who died and made you the queen of comebacks...oh wait, sorr- " before the yay-high tall viceroy could utter any more careless words, a large pale left hand swung across the room at incredible speed, finally caressing upon the delicate flesh that pillowed the man's skull. The sound of the impact echoed the halls, no less the slap itself would have left quite the battle scar.

"Anyways, did you notice it?" a ballistic Yanu'Kai questioned the ever-damaged Glenn.

"Yes, he's been following us since we dropped out of hyperspace near Minoris Omega, the moon of the huge gas giant in this system. He using an unrecognised ship according to the Crescentian ship logs. Might even be a ship from Herranium. You think he wants to chat?" Glenn grumbled while he coaxed his blistered cheek with a wet towlette.

"Don't be a fool. He might just be a stranded pirate who's barking up the wrong tree. Let's just send an e-flare to scare him off. If he tries to do something funny, blast his puny ship."

"Yes, maam."

Fatigued and in need of rest, Yanu'Kai exited the pilot room to head to her quarters only to be greeted by the sight of Michael and Ainz crossing out planets on the Republic star maps. Intrigued, Yanu'Kai inched in for a closer look.

"They've got to be somewhere. What other location can Cherilyn and Xignus be able to escape to after Roulande that we haven't already considered?" Ainz ranted, at that moment, he simply wanted to get his hands on all the women that made his life miserable and smite them from the face of the universe.

"What are you guys up to?" Yanu'Kai butted in, peering closer into the holographic star maps the two gentlemen had being interacting with.

"Oh, thought you'd be asleep like the rest. Ainz and I here were tracking down Miss Betrayer and her associates, so we can interrogate them on the whereabouts of all the other rebel bases and eventually lead back to the key culprit, Tara. When that time comes, I'm sure you'll want to have a nice long talk with her, right Yanu'Kai?" Spencer vowed as he grabbed a mug of cold brew from the counter.

"I could never have expected my sister to be the mastermind behind all this and it's partially my fault for not being competent enough to stop her earlier. I'd also like to apologize Yanu'Kai for what Tara did to you. I intend to bring her down but I won't be able to end this family feud without any of you." Ainz' confession startled the two, he was never so sensitive in plain language but that put a light smile on both their faces.

Abruptly, the ship's alarm activated. The loud sirens coupled with the throttle of engines revving up woke the other crew members. The ship's under attack. Yanu'Kai rushed to the pilot room, slanting her body sideways from the imbalance of the ship.

"Glenn! What's going on?"

"That pirate you said, well it's latched a tether onto us unknowingly and i'm trying to shake him off. I think he's trying to board our ship." Yanu'Kai raced back to the hangar and grabbed her rifle from the storage compartment.

"Suit up guys, we've got visitors." Sojan and Riflona propped up hard-light barriers in front of the others while Jaygini and Jixu were in position to lunge towards the uninvited guest. A beam of light started to cut through the ship door's interior from the outside, the perpetrator was right outside the ship even though they were traversing space at almost twenty kilometres per second. Whoever was outside the door was clearly not human. The light blade flickered a few times and died off.

The ship's engine had been disabled and the craft was merely drifting in the dead of space. It was an ominous silence that kept the Grand 11 on edge. The pirate could be anywhere. Yanu'Kai called the lead and headed towards the etched door. Her timid hand reached out for the handle but before she could grasp its metal, the door opened. Her eyes beamed wide open and the duchess somersaulted back towards her comrades right before a white beam of scorching light cut across where Yanu'Kai's head could have been. What came through the door was a hulking man covered by a visor holding onto what was perceived to be a sword of pure radiating plasma. Coming close to the blade would be stepping on death's doorstep. The man took small steps towards the Grand 11.

"What do you want? Do you have a death wish? Come a step closer and i'll make you regret ever being born. Show yourself!" Yanu'Kai exploded as she threatened the masked entity with her appearance entering into a psycho-aggressive state of glowing skin and eyes and levitating off the ground. The young duchess could blow the whole ship up if she wanted in that state.

The man's metallic husk and armour clang about each other as he took a step back, having a taste of fear in his tongue. He then sheathed back his sword into its holster in the effort to die down the hostility. With large ironclad arms, he laid his hand behind his head. A click resounded. The man was going to remove the ugly visor that adorned his face. As the helmet unbridled from its complex counterpieces, long hair started to frill and fall onto the shoulder pads of the armour. It was a young girl. All the members were stupefied by the outcome but only Ainz had noticed one paramount flaw. Ainz noticed that girl was none other than Princess Ariamis the First, wearing the armor of the Big Four and it looked like she desperately needed his help.

Meanwhile, in the Supreme Chancellor's office atop the Senate building of Dieusia, a lone dark figure peered down upon the city skyline, donned in fine, black, Veresian silk. She breathed in the fresh air from the open window and erected a smile that carved her face like a moon in the night. She held in her hands a device. It had a single circular polished button. It was up to her if she wanted to press the button. And if she did, the Senate would fall. If she did, the entire Crescentian Republic would fall. If she did, the whole world would fall and be a graveyard...her graveyard.

And all it needs is just.

A little.

Push.
