He had always held a distrust of the Communists, ever since the beginning of his political career in the KMT. What would them running the country be like? They say they'll take China out of the agrarian backwater and into an era of industrialisation. This same promise cost the Russians so many lives. And what of Taiwan? The small rump state insurgency cannot be allowed to exist in Wang's eyes. Will the communists compromise on ideology just as the Soviets did, once cooperating with the Germans?

The president's train of thought was promptly barged into as one of his advisers entered his office. He lay a single photo on the table. It showed the sea, and what appeared to be a vessel. The sky was pitch black, save for a single searchlight on a large island in the distance.

'A picture of Taiwanese waters, where civilian vessels don't operate, lest they be shot down by insurgent naval patrols. The ship appears to be a large cargo craft of some sorts.'

'When was this photo taken?'

'Roughly 10 days ago. The photographer was unable to reach proper authorities until yesterday.'

'So ten or so days ago, a large cargo craft, a convoy, was operating within Taiwanese waters. This couldn't be a foreign shipment, they know it is in their best interest not to operate near Taiwan, and besides, no naval action was reported that day. Unless, the ship's destination was Taiwan. But why would a vessel be headed to a rebel-controlled island. No nation in the world recognizes the CNR, much less their claims on all Chinese soil.'

'Sir, but what if that had changed? What if we did something that may, antagonize the nation in the eyes of foreign regimes. Then the CNR would seem like a better alternative for China.'

'The elections...'

'What, sir?'

'Nothing, just, the elections. I was thinking about them before you came in.'

Chiang sat with his men, a Mauser K98 on the table they were discussing over. Chiang picked up the German gun, and inspected it.

'Ah, it seems my request for a sample of the foreign shipment sent to us 10 days ago has been fulfilled. These should give us an edge when fighting against the mainland army. My only hope is that the Westerners continue to support us even after we launch our coup....'

Around now the forces of the state are having more presence at the Lasacan-Iranian borders, the war will be declared very soon, noticeable tensions between Iran and Lasaca are rising at a rapid rate. One speech the leader held included the quote "Today, we are very unnoticeable, other nations don't see us as much, this must change and the only way to change this is to begin the rise of a massive militaristic empire, we have had our failures in the past but if there is any time to change that the time is now, today is the beginning of the Lasacan golden age, and no one will take that away from us, we will keep fighting, and we will never surrender, for our empires success and the wealth of the nation of cause, we will never stop until our goals are met, the Lasacan-Iranian war begins in exactly one hour, as soon as it starts there will be massive artillery fire and bombings of the Iranian forces, towns and cities, then advancements and the offensive campaign will begin". So as you can guess, there will be a massive war between the DMSL and Iran, Lasaca will only surrender if Iran invades Istanbul, which is never, we will be victorious, and they will meet their demise, in one hour, Long live Lasaca!

The war has begun, we are starting to shell their forces across the border and bomb nearby towns and cities, only 2 of our bombers have been shot down at all by AAs whilst flying over Tehran. We are going to make a quick advancement now, we have a high amount of resources and equipment for our armed forces currently. There is loads of resistance but that is to be expected. in around 4 hours we should have made quite a push forward, the DMSL will never surrender, we will keep fighting until Tehran (the capital of Iran) is fully occupied. today we have fully trained around 45k troops, they will join the front line shortly, our tactic for this is the invade and destroy all buildings except Lasacan bases and houses method, they will have much less to work with, even if they take their territories back it will take a while to rebuild their buildings and so during that time the areas would be completely useless and nothing could be mobilized/created from factories as they would be non-existent there.

The Secretary of State for War knocked on the Prime Minister's office and quickly let himself in before an answer. He frowned as the Prime Minister looked up at him, who was also frowning. The Prime Minister spoke first, "What is it Margesson?"

"The Lasacans, Sir, they've invaded Iran."

"Utter madness, how do they think they can defeat the Iranians - the Iranian army is stronger than ever after the intense training they received from us and the Yanks last year, we still have British troops in the Iranian nation per their request, correct?" Winston Churchill immediately started thinking about his response.

"Yes, Sir, we still have troops in cities in northern Iran where we did most of our fighting alongside the Iranians last year, as well as troops in other cities. We have about 5,000 in Tehran, another 2,000 in Rasht. In the city closest the Lasacan border, Tabriz, we have 1,000 soldiers stationed. What do you want me to do, Sir?"

Churchill frowned, "Immediately communicate with them that they are to not allow Turkish troops into the cities they're stationed in. Tell them to turn Lasacan troops away. Also warn them they are not to fire at Lasacan troops unless they're fired upon first. Also put our soldiers in Palestine and Cyprus on high alert, and contact Hall and tell him the Mediterranean fleet needs to be readied for the worst."

Margesson nods as Churchill continues, "Anything else Margesson?"

"The Italians have declared war on the Lasacans."

"So the time to act is soon, the British Empire won't go to war unless George decides it, but I can try my damnedest to persuade him. And, importantly, if British troops are fired upon it will be considered an act of war against the British Empire and our soldiers will have full right and absolute might to fight back. Off to it, then."

Margesson nods and quickly exits the Prime Minister's office, he went back to his own office and immediately calls the admiralty to notify them of the Prime Minister's orders for the Mediterranean fleet. He then sends a telegram to British commanding officers in Palestine and Cyprus, knowing it'll reach them in a matter of a couple quick minutes.

Rubén Freixa sat down at an old desk on a crowded floor of a six-storey building in downtown Barranquilla, staring out the boarded window at the sky. The United Caribbean Federation was born, and not out of bloodshed, but unity. He turned to look at the flag hung beside him, not printed, nor well made, but stitched together from flags of the constituent states. The government building, if it could be called that, certainly needed an upgrade. A plume of smoke rose from the northern side of the city, a result of an arson but otherwise the peaceful union of the region couldn't be faulted. It was time to make something of this state, Freixa thought. As the old light swung in the draughty room he penned some diplomatic notes:

Today, the 30th of October, the United Caribbean Federation (henceforth referred to as the UCF) was officially formed, following six months of referendums and counting following the most destructive conflict in history, pan-Caribbeanism is growing, and our people have decided unity is the path to progress. We are a well meaning state, and member of the international community. Not much more is to be said, but the UCF is dedicated to its people and their interests. Incursions on the sovereignty of our state are not recommended. We condemn the aggressive and hasty actions of Lascasa and are open to discussion with all states of this Earth.

We have no alignment, but this is not about picking sides, this sort of aggression is exactly what we have seen for nearly a decade now, and is a threat to communists, capitalists and those with no alignment.

We would also ask that the territories of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in the Caribbean (Belize, Jamaica, Bahamas, British Guyana and the British territories in the Lesser Antilles) are allowed to hold a referendum on joining the United Caribbean Federation at your discretion.

The Federated States of Indochina.

During 1940, the Imperial Japanese Army successfully invaded Indochina and overthrew the French Colonial Administration, completely removed French influence from the Far East. The brutal occupation by the Japanese, has forever changed the minds of million Indochineses, their trusts in France as a protector had shattered, and from despairs, many revolutionary movements arose with a belief that only Indochinese can save Indochina. Among them, the most predominant movements are the Indochinese Nationalist Union (INC) and the Indochinese Socialist Alliance (ISA), although different in ideologies, they still decided to cooperate and coordinated their efforts to stop the expansion of Imperial Japan.

After five years of bloody warfare, by July 1945, the Imperial Japanese Army invaders has been defeated and pushed out of Indochina, while the Siamese Empire, an ally of Japan, has surrendered itself and fall into occupation by both British and Indochinese Military. During the Potsdam Conference of August 1945, the sovereignty of Indochina wasn't recognized and the region was still considered as colony of France, despite Indochina's grave contributions for the Allies in the Pacific War, this decision slowly creating an anti-colonial sentiment among Indochinese society.

By the end of 1945, France erected the Federal Government of Indochina from the foundation of the old French Colonial Administration, Lê Nguyệt Thảo, a member of INC, became the first Coordinator of the Federal Government in December 1945. In the Spring of 1946, the foreign policy of France on the colonial issues became more relaxed, Indochina was granted dominion status, a good news for the nation. In the same time, the British Army began to withdraw from the Indian Ocean, the Siamese territories they occupied were transferred to Indochina, followed an agreement with France, this quickly became a troublesome loath later on. Inside the Siamese lands, resistances arose and deaths became more common each days, years will be needed to completely pacify the areas.

While everything look quiet positive, on the eastern fringe of the nation, the Indian barbarians are begin to mobilizing their forces, and in response an Indochinese division has been sent to station in Tanintharyi Province.

Would you be open for discussion with us? We can talk this out, we will be selling the Iranian oil for a lot cheaper price then it currently is. "Benjamin! I have news from London!" Foreign Minister Herbert Vere Evatt opened the door into the Prime Ministers office with a bang, sweat trickling down his forehead as if he had run a marathon. "Lasacans have violated Iranian land! They are invading with full force!"

"God almighty! Are you certain!?" Prime Minister Benjamin Chifley cried out. "What does the Crown think of this? Do the British not have troops in Iran?"

"Yes Sir, You're right. The United Kingdom has started putting her Navy and Soldiers in the region on high alert about a day ago."

Benjamin Chifley's face turned from one of relaxation in his office to one of lament. He got up from his chair and paced about before finally saying calmly.
"Inform Minister of Defence Francis Forde and contact my liaison in Auckland at once, I would like a full report on the situation."

As Herbert walked away, Benjamin Chifley called out, "Ah yes, send a telegram to London, ask if they should require any assistance in any operations they wish to conduct" Kannap

Infrastructure
Perth will soon be getting a harbour extension to allow the capability of handling 35,000-ton ships. Starting on November 1947, the cost will be 450 million pounds (4.5 billion today) and expected completion by November 1949.

The new Alice Springs - Melbourne Railway that spans 2,342km is about to finish construction. Train services by the Oceanic Train Services (OTS) will commence this coming December 1947. This shaves more than 14 hours of the usual drive there.

The new skyscraper called the AWA (Australian Water Association) building in Sydney, 17 Floors and 62 metres tall is under construction which is set to be the tallest building overtaking the Royal Apartment building that stands at 15 floors and 55 metres.

A new warship in Melbourne is being commissioned, the HMAS Wellington, the 4th of a series of Country-Class Heavy Cruisers (Canberra, Sydney and Australia). At 14,000 tons with 8, 8-inch guns in 4 turrets, 4 4-inch AA mounts and 8 40mm AA guns with speeds of 31.5 knots, she may not contend with battlecruisers but shes the pride of the Commonwealth of Australia and New Zealand's Navy.

Day 2 of the conflict in Iran

The Lasacan army have reached the outskirts of Tabriz, but the British forces are starting to become a large problem for us, but we can and hopefully will make it to Tehran. Around 24k of our 200k soldiers have died on the battlefield, but there is still hope at large, the Lasacan Military can do this, it just requires some strategy and powerful weapons. Some fighting has already been reported to be taking place in Tabriz between British and Lasacan forces. It is only a matter of time before the Hashemite Caliphate and East German troops arrive onto the front line. The King suggests that the Hashemite Caliphate begins a naval invasion of Bandar Abbas and Bandar Bushehr immediately.

It's been eight years since the Eagle had bend its knees to the might of the Red Star and decided to join the power of the people. Nationalists who joined the Republicans after the war created a political party called United Iberian Party which the party's ideals are a combination of Pan-Iberism which contained nationalist elements and the ideals of anarchy-syndicalism which is the only ideology that is used by the Republicans. With the Republican victory in the Spanish Civil War; Franco loyalists and Carlists were executed under the orders of President Jose Diaz as they are the reasons why they revolted against the Republic in the first place but the problem is that Sahara became independent and Spanish Morocco; which remnants of Franco loyalists were hiding, were quickly seized by the French which the Republicans, including President himself were angered by the action that is done by the French however the Republicans have no choice to retake its territories since they are not prepared and are still recovering from the Civil War. This caused the public opinion towards France shifted from friendly to unfriendly. In 1941, the Republicans have finally replenished from the bloody civil war and decided to shift its attention from their western neighbor; Portugal, which is ruled by an authoritarian fascist. The Republicans then invades Portugal from three fronts under the vision of a united Iberia. The war lasted for several months and the Portuguese government weren't prepared from a surprise Spanish invasion. Portugal was subjugated to Spain and formed the Iberian Federation although its government were exiled to Brazil as Portuguese-government-in-exile. The Iberian Peninsula is now ruled by one nation that shares one ideal. At this point, President Diaz encourage to call the citizens of Spain and Portugal to call themselves Iberians and can speak their own tongue freely, especially in Portugal. Even though the Spanish invasion of Portugal was part of the Second World War, the war itself was isolated apart from Soviet military aid to the Spaniards. The Iberian Federation was neutral from the rest of the war apart from President Diaz consolidating his absolute rule in the entire Federation. When Germany was defeated, President Diaz decide to align with the Soviet Union due to the fact that the Soviets helped the Spaniards by subjugating Portugal. The goal of the Iberian Federation is ambitious but risky although the so-called Iberians are prepared to face consequences in the name of the people.

People from Madrid flocked the main square to listen from a new speech that will be delivered by President Jose Diaz; who have ruled the Federation for eight years with an iron fist. This speech will be on a national television across the Federation. Minutes later, the Preaident himself arrived. He climbed up on stage and presented himself from hundreds of thousands of people as he stand in front of the podium. He began to deliver his speech as the cameras began to broadcast the President's speech nationwide.

"Citizens of the Federation. Buenas tardes! Today, I'm here to remind to all of you that our goal, our tasks, and our mission as a citizen of the glorious Federation are not done yet. We may have achieve victory against the Nationalists eight years ago and against the Portuguese six years ago but that doesn't mean that we are finished! While we are battling against the Nationalists, the French backstabbed us by seizing our lands in Northern Morocco! That is a no no to us, right, comrades?!"

The people were chanting as they fuel their anger against the French who seized the entire Spanish Morocco and never gave it back to the Republicans after the civil war had ended in a Republican victory.

"After years of preparation, we are ready to fight in order to take what is rightfully ours! The Soviets is on our side and nothing can stop us! For the Federation! For Iberia!"

"For the Federation! For Iberia!" the chants roared across the Federation via the broadcast of the national television.

Days after the speech of Jose Diaz, a letter is sent to General Perez who is currently the head of the Southern Spanish Region Military Command (SSRMC). The soldier enters Perez's tent with a brown folder.

"Hola, heneral!" the soldier salutes.

"Hola. What is this?" General Perez asked.

"This is coming from President Diaz, heneral."

"El Presidente?!" the general widen up his eyes after hearing that the letter came from the President himself. He haven't received any letters from the President after the invasion of Portugal.

"Si, heneral. I'm instructed to only give this to you and read this, heneral, since you are considered one of the trusted generals that is loyal to the Republic." the soldier then gives the folder to General Perez.

"Alright, you are dismissed, soldato."

The soldier salutes and left the tent. General Perez then open the folder and proceeds to read the letter. After reading the letter, the General was shocked but he doesn't have a choice but to assemble 30,000 soldiers equipped with sophiscated Soviet weaponry just in case the British denies the offer.

General Perez. You are one of the only trusted generals in this world full of trickery and lies. I don't want the national ambition to fade away and this is very confidential. I will launch an order if the British rejects the offer. If they reject, the order is to seize Gibraltar. The Navy will help you out as the entire fleet will proceed guard the Strait of Gibraltar and launch a naval blockade within the French waters, especially the southern coast and Morocco.

If the oilfields of Iran are invaded by a foreign power, we will have to take our imports somewhere else. Perhaps the Arabs?'
'I have a better solution,' piped his adviser. 'We should take our imports to the Sov-' 'The Soviets? Yes I know that it is cheaper to transport goods across a single border, and those Caucasus oilfields aren't being invaded anytime soon, but, what would the Americans think?
