Name: Nelson Andrews.
Age: 60.
Occupation: Regional Director of Imperial Bureau of Investigations (Mexico) [Currently Rogue]
Appearance: Officially 6'1, and 210 pounds.
Nationality: White Columbian.
Belongings: A) Book of Common Prayer.
B) The Bible.
C) Investigator Pad
D) Investigator issued firearm.
E) Investigator issued badge.
F) Columbian Identification Papers.
G) A Weeks worth of Clothes (the majority already down at the property).
H) $2,000 Work of Imperial Dollars.
Strengths, and Skills: Ever the unfettered his determination caused him to rise through the ranks of the Imperial Bureau of Investigation. He thought at one point it was best to keep humanity ignorant of the end which was coming, and now certainly has. He no longer believes that possible. Humanities end must be the choice for humans not occultist followers of an inhuman abyss to make. He believes in his mission so strongly he potentially has gone rogue from the IBI, and may or may not be responsible for destroying several towns. There is a rumor that while traveling through Nevada he trapped thousands of people, and used them as bait to draw in ghoul hordes from all over the state before blowing the place to hell, and back.
Weaknesses: Is mentally scarred from the first rising in which his entire town died and came back as the first wave of ghouls. The actions he has taken since then especially in Laggards Burrow and his travels back north have started him down a path of sanity slippage. He believes that only by becoming a fatalistic villain humanity will meet a proper end, and be reborn rather than slaves to a potentially inhuman abyss.
Personality: An intensely religious zealot ten years ago his devotion has bordered to an obsession with the idea of the "true end". Ten years ago he was a controversial figure for approving of extermination tactics that killed thousands to save millions. Nelson is becoming the villain he knew the world needed ten years ago. This time there will be no delaying of the end, but instead of becoming slaves to some abomination, and its immortal servants he seeks to end the world. Despite his fatalism, and despising of cults, supporters, and their objects he is more than willing to use them when need be.
Ten years ago he approved of tactics which secured, contained, and curbed the influence of occult sites such as dispersing their supporters, dealing with their worshippers, and curbing its power source thus making it weak, and withering. Nelson is not a pleasant man and in fact quite the racist despite blaming slavery for the fall of the old U.S, and ultimately leading the world to ruin. Despite acknowledging this he more than happily owns several slaves since "they aren't human after all". Nelsons age hasn't slowed the man down one bit either as he continues down a path of unfettered villainy. At the end of the day, he truly believes a global reset will be the best for all involved even if it means all the sacrifices throughout the year are rendered null, and void.
Likes: Even back when he was a "moderate" Nelson was a man of several controversial opinions. Debating oversensitive, and contentious topics such as religion, culture, and politics have earned him an infamous reputation. Despite all this, he still maintains a sense of quiet in the private sphere and expects civility around the dinner table.
Dislikes: Nelson doesn't like the occult at all even when having to use them to further his ends. He ironically despite owning slaves believes the existence of slavery allowed division to be furthered by radicals, and destroy the U.S. He believes the founding fathers should have abolished slavery, and deported them somewhere else. He notably has gotten in trouble for espousing a world in which the union won so long as Lincoln recolonized former slaves to Liberia. Despite being a slave owner himself he doesn't blame the slave owners so much as he does the radicals on both sides for causing the downfall of a once great nation.
Goals: Since potentially going rogue he has gained followers from the fringes of the Bureau, and in the chaos wants to use occultic sites he contained to further the ends of the "true end".
Fears: Ten years ago he genuinely feared the end of the world due to the movements by the Order of Death. He maintains that the cultists are worshipping more of a nihilistic abyss rather than a meaningful god, and will enslave all of humanity, and their souls. He would rather humanity not be enslaved to a form of immortality similar to "I have no mouth, and must scream".
Biography: Born quietly on February 17th, 1902 to a yeoman family in Tennessee he grew up expecting to take over the family business, the farm, and the slaves. As such his life until 1923 was very unremarkable until his father expected him to make something of himself. As such he joined a project in the new state of Sylvania run by the secret police and helped investigate various leads. Working his way up the ranks he married, had children, and gained a modest amount of land outside Gettysburg. By all accounts, he enjoyed his job and was for a brief time appointed as one of the local chiefs of the Sylvanian Intelligence Police (1926-1929).
His career in the secret police came to an end when a dissenter shot him and left him nearly dead. Nelson spent the better part of 1930 recovering, and watching the U.S Collapse from his hometown in Tennessee. His wife and children were left to tend the family land in Gettysburg while his families personal doctor oversaw his treatment. One humid summer night a star flew above the sky and left a strange dust behind, and Nelson thought nothing of it. That was until a hand came crashing through the window, and screams began erupting everywhere over the farm. Nelson feverish from the wound saw a world of horrors unraveling before him, and it broke him.
Today what happened is known as the "first rising" thanks in part to the "substance" left by the star the dead came out of their grave to consume the living and that people outside who were exposed turned into them as well. The ghouls overwhelmed the farm, and parts of the world as well until various militias, and militaries began to put them down. Nelson joined one such militia to clean out Nashville, and ultimately his hometown making his way back to Gettysburg. He found the horrid site of his slain family and fell into a deep depressive sorrow mourning for three full years as a result. His brother took control of the farm and became the patriarch of those who survived ultimately forcing Nelson to be remarried.
Nelson remarried a young woman and has had several new children, but in his heart can still never truly get over his first wife's death let alone his firstborn children. Something changed after Nelson left his sorrowful state, and using old connections he was accepted into the Imperial Bureau of Investigations branch of Tennessee. He specifically requested the occult division which at the time was laughably underfunded, but after several assignments rooting out dangerous cults, it got what it needed. It was by the time the mid-1940s came around that Nelson's obsessions with the occult got worse. From mysterious blood drinking deaths, a new cult on the horizon worshipping death, and the "second rising" of ghouls which continue to this day it drew Nelson further, and further in.
Nelson eventually sold his land outside of Gettysburg and gave up his legal rights to the family inheritance after purchasing a nice swath of land outside of Mexico City. His brother was shocked, but out of understanding gave him a nice parting gift of money, and slaves to aid in the land down south. Nelsons family and the majority of the slaves arrived to manage the land, but he was stuck in Laggards Burrow. Due to the revolts, a train line was struck, and afterward, Nelson had to take another train which also had to be stopped due to rebel activity. His time in Laggards Burrow proved to be what he needed especially in stopping the goals of the Order of Death even if only temporarily.
The legendary battle of Laggards Burrow bought humanity ten years. In that time Nelson became a regional director of the IBI and ruthlessly persecuted or contained the occult down in Mexico. Since the events over a month ago Nelson has gone rogue, and after promising his family he would be back he has gone on a solemn trek to Oklahoma City. Nelson believes the various occultic buzzings around that area are no coincidence and intends to set the record right. He no longer intends on delaying the end for humanity but instead setting things right by enacting the true end.
