So, before I introduce this RP, a quick list of Q/A for those who are unfamiliar with JoJo
Q: So what is JoJo?
A: JoJo is an anime/manga series written by mangaka (manga artist) Hirohiki Araki. The series currently spans 7 finished story arcs, and is still being written today, currently on its unfinished eighth part, JoJolion. The series follows a family tree of characters starting with Jonathan Joestar, and progressing through to the current protagonist Josuke Hikashgata (DONT mind that he technically isn’t a JoJo, it’s some weird kanji thing where his name in Japanese could be interpreted as JoJo).
Q: So what is a JoJo?
A: JoJo is the naming convention that (most) main characters in this series follow, with the first name beginning with Jo (Jonathan, Joseph, Jotaro, etc.) and the last name having he syllable “Jo” somewhere in it, with this last name typically being Joestar or Kujo. Each of these characters is related by blood in a weird and long as hell family tree (except for the last two, they’re from an alternate universe.)
Q: I keep hearing about these “stands.” What are they?
A: Good question! Stands are ghostly representations of your will to fight/survive/whatever Araki was thinking at the time. They appear to those with huge amounts of willpower, or those who get poked by a magic arrowhead the makes your stand manifest. These stands have stats representing their capabilities, ranging from A to E, with each of these stat categories representing a different area in which they can be graded. The stats are as such:
Speed: How fast the stand can move within its effective range.
Range: How far a stand can go from the user without losing it’s effect, and becoming weaker.
Durability: How resistant the stand is to taking hits.
Destructive power: How much damage a stand can deal out using its ability (or its punch).
Precision: How accurately the stand can attack within the effective range.
Development potential: How easily the stand can develop and become stronger through user experience.
Stands can also come in many shapes, sizes, and types, but I’ll include a link to the JoJo wiki for more info on that.
Now that we got that out of the way, now it’s time for some actual OOC stuff, ain’t it? So, this RP takes place in the JoJo part 4 setting of Morioh, a small town in Japan next to S city (another fictional location). Morioh was a relatively quiet town until stands started popping up and wreaking all kinds of havoc. Ever since the events of part 4, stands have almost become infectious, with a sudden influx of many people randomly manifesting them. This RP takes place in modern day, with Morioh now filled with stand users, and the world now knowing of stands, as they have become a commonplace occurrence. Now, almost 40% of the world now have stands, and those who don't are... well, reasonably afraid. While the RP will mainly remain in Morioh, characters can leave Morioh and explore the surrounding cities if so inclined. Now for some rules...
1. So, this goes without saying, but I'm OP, and my word is law.
2. Be nice, don't be an asshole. I don't really care how your character acts, but in the OOC, bad behavior won't be allowed.
3. This is Nationstates. Keep it... relatively clean. Mild swearing: Fine. Mild blood and gore: Okay... Smut, torture porn, or any other form of overly obscene writing: NO.
4. As per any RP, no metagaming, godmodding, or any other form of nonsense like that.
5. So, character death is possible. Rare, but possible. For example, I'll kill you off personally if you break any of the above rules excessively or repeatedly. Other players must have permission to kill off another player character. Breaking this rule will result in almost immediate character death, unless the character killed belongs to the player in question.
Okay, so rules for Stands, since when it comes to JoJo, we gotta be specific:
1. No time manipulation on a grand scale. No timestop, no time deletion, no rewind, nothing like that. I'll allow something like a localized time slowdown or something like that (as in time for characters within a stands effective range feel time slow down around them.)
2. Similarly, no future sight type abilities. I consider that a type of metagaming.
3. Make your stats balanced. No all A's in ever category, and I likely won't allow too many range irrelevant (as in their effective range is infinite) stands.
4. Make your stand original. I won't allow carbon copies of stands from the actual series.
