Galen hoisted his sword in the air and yelled to his bandits "Men, we shall take this village for ourselves and kill the Enforcer of Kirsin. We shall be the most powerful bandits in history!" His men cheered and stomped, but before they charged, Xinos appeared before them. "This Kalon is an arrogant mortal. He dares to belittle the gods and proclaims my enemy as more powerful. We shall not hold off the attack any longer! Archers, launch your fire arrows at the enemy's buildings! Burn them to the ground! The rest of you, follow Galen to the walls and scale them! Kill them all!" And with that the bandits began their attack, and the archers began burning buildings and watchtowers.

Kalon noticed the bandits launching fire arrows at the walls. Focusing on the more heavily defended areas, Kalon deflected some of them with the gauntlet. As an enemy volley was fired, and they began to reload, Kalon began his own volley.

"Archers, nock!"

The archers put down their improvised weapons and pulled out arrows from their quivers.

"Draw!"

They all drew the bows back far, aiming for the bandits below.

"Loose!"

They fired, hitting into the bandits with many arrows, some fired by those who had killed the bandits in their first attack.

Galen saw his bandits fall and yelled "Shield-wall!" The bandits joined together to form a shield-wall

Now protected from any more arrows, Galen yelled "Archers, fall back to the treeline and take those archers out!" The archers obeyed and fired on the village archers, taking a few of them out.

What looked like a few to the attackers was actually quite a lot. Many were knocked down from the battlements behind the walls. Kalon ordered another volley to the attackers by the tree line, though the arrows coming from the defenders were notably less. Meanwhile, melee troops, many of whom had never fired a bow before, picked up the bows and feebly launched the arrows. As well as that, the fires were beginning to affect the troops, who moved to the centre of the walls, close to Kalon.

Galen noticed the arrows start to lessen and yelled "Men, advance! Stay in formation! Archers, continue to fire!" The archers once again fired, killing several more of the village's defenders. The fact that they were gathering closer together made them easy targets. By this time, Galen and the rest of the bandits made it to a wall and began to scale it with climbing hooks. Galen and a shield bearer were the first to scale the walls, and Galen stabbed a villager through the chest, yelling "For XInos!"

Kalon pointed the gauntlet towards the attacking bandits up the wall, concussing a few to the ground and damaging the wall significantly. Kalon noticed Galen coming up the walls, and as he killed one of the villagers he formerly protected. "For Xinos", he shouted as he ascended.

Kalon pushed past the villagers, trying to get to Galen. He finally shouted towards him, "Galen! I see you have changed your allegiance. It has always been destiny for us to face each other, one on one, in combat."

Galen threw his steel sword aside and pulled out the black crystal sword Xinos gave him. "Xinos protect me." he yelled as he made a thrust at Kalon. Xinos watched his champion, and he whispered a thought into his archers' heads. "If he is close to losing, kill Kalon."

Yxarus, the Great Anarch

Great and terrible anger flowed in The Great Anarch's divine essence, being rejected by fools with a death wish. He looked down as the fighting began between the village warriors and Azgon's solders, with Xino leading. However, as Yxarus watched, his fists clenched and raised his into the sky, with a snap of his fingers, great and terrible lightning struck down onto the ground between Galen and Kalon.

"ENOUGH!" Yxarus decreed in fury, glaring down upon Kalon with a rageful and monstrous three-eyed face , "I offered you the glory and Empire you desire and yet you spit in my face! For that I'm not even going to allow you the satisfaction of one on one combat! Galen, get back in line! Azgon! Leave not a single one alive except for the filth that is Kalon. Let him rot in his foul disease! Now go!"

Kalon caught the sword, halting the force put behind the sword as the gauntlet's power activated, before reversing the force, throwing the sword behind as hard as Galen had launched it, and the lightning sent them both apart. Yxarus had spoken to them all, shouting towards Kalon and his defenders. Kalon turned back towards the Anarch, and the armies of Azgon as they charged towards the line of defenders.

"Archers! Back in formation!"

Except the archers were not well-organised enough. As Azgon's army barrelled into the walls, they sent them crashing to the ground around Kalon, with defenders standing atop them being thrown back by the force of the falling walls. Azgon's forces had completely destroyed the defences. And it was not long before the melee troops stationed on the wall were mowed down by Azgon's men.

Galen smiled and sheathed his sword saying "Ah, it seems you've made a terrible enemy, traitor. You do not deserve to fight me. Men, kill them all." And with that, Galen walked to the back of his bandits. His bandits began to cleave trough the untrained villagers on the wall, laughing the whole time. Xinos, however, appeared next to Yxarus and said "Ah my friend, you had the same idea as me. I never would have let that arrogant mortal fight a fair fight, and I had the bandit archers ready to fire on Kalon. But this outcome is much more....amusing."

Matrix then waded his consciousness through the sea of souls, searching for suitable candidates to become his stone golems. He could just create entirely brand new souls for the job but why do so when you have some which would already be perfectly suitable. He asked the hoards of underworld denizens what they thought about his offer.

Manny weren't enticed by it at all of course. The stone golems didn't seem like very fun things to be considering they didn't get any of the more carnal pleasures and various other reasons. Many souls would rather wait to be housed in the city of diamonds rather than take a a new sort of mortal life as a sexless, unseating, unfeeling, rough rock monster thing. He was however able to procure enough loyal volunteers to fill a dozen stone golems. These were mostly just curious souls who wanted to see what it would be like to be alive again in some fashion. Others were enticed by the idea of being a powerful rock monster and being badas*. There was even one who had been a geomancer in life and was entrigued by the idea of being closer to his element than ever before.

Matrix went to work breathing life into them, siphoning willing souls into the stone golems and raising his hands up into the air in symbols of threading power. One by one the stone golems were brought to life, giggling their bulging rock limbs and stretching out to test their maneuverability. They saw with seismic sense at first, there being little light in the caverns to work with. Matrix had imbued them with many forms of sight, the others they would test out as they went along. One by one they twisted their limbs every which way before going out of the cavern as per instruction and exploring the caves.

The golems moved with the clunking sound of rock against rock, some of them needing to take some time to get used to using seismic sense for the first time in their lives. They moved strong and mighty with pride at being such a divine creature made from the tough rock of the very ground in the underworld.

Eventually some of them would speak their thoughts aloud and notice that their voices sounded rocky and of gravelly rock clunking. This part of the underworld was somewhat closer to the surface of the mortal plane than the other chamber. The caves of the underworld were infinite and on going, not having ever been mapped or touched by any sort of tinkering. The golems found that Matrix, or "The rain man" as the citizens of the underworld had recently decided to name him, had bestowed upon them the automatic racial ability of working with the earth, finding themselves naturally able to preform feats of Geomancy that allowed them to move tons of rock with their minds and dig their way through the caves of the underworld.

Whenever they would find themselves of the impulse to push through rock blocking their way, they simply need Earthbend it out of their way.

As the battle raged on, Xinos noticed that Galen was surrounded by villagers with makeshift weapons. "Galen, why are you doing this? You were our friend and leader, why are you fighting us with bandits?" one of the villagers cried. Galen stood emotionless and said "I have found Xinos to be convincing. He has offered me power if I kill you, and I will take joy in doing so." He then pulled the black crystal sword out of it's sheath and rushed the villager who talked to him, killing her. The others surged him and he spun around, disemboweling three of them until there was only one left, an old man with a club. "Please Galen, spare me. I surrender." Xinos whispered on his ear "End his pathetic life. Show no weakness, and I will grant you all the power and riches in the mortal world." Galen nodded and swung his sword, decapitating the old man.

Kalon saw the battle in front of him. He was still unsure how he was losing, and knew that victory had to be taken from the jaws of defeat. His lord Kirsin promised to grant them victory, an empire even, and yet men were falling left and right. Kalon used the gauntlet's concussive force to knock away those who tried to attack him. As he noticed more and more of the defenders' blood being spilled, Kalon tired more and more, until finally, he was the only one left. His gauntlet still had power, and as more enemies came towards him, he repelled them with it. Foes fell around him, but Kalon knew it was a losing battle. Eventually, Kalon gave up, the gauntlet dropping off of his hand and disappearing as his will left him. He looked down, and a tear dropped from his eye.

"I know your god wants me alive," Kalon said to his attackers, "Mine evidently does not care. Take me to these chaos gods. I will go out on my own terms."

He thought about what it was he would do next and thought that perhaps the place to do it would be elsewhere as this area of the underworld felt too close to the surface and too exposed. The rain man blinked himself to a random location in the underworld and noted that it was significantly lower in the underworld and therefore less venerable to outside interference.

Matrix stomped on the ground and send a shockwave all around him to sense just how far he was underground and was satisfied. The shockwave sent his awareness far and throughout all the many rocky places surrounding him and assured him that this was a good place to hatch his new device. The stomped made a large earthquake underground and it was possible that some of the denizens of the underworld, including his own charges, could feel the vibrations. It wasn't a harmfully violent one but there was no doubt that this one was divine.

Matrix then sat down in meditation to hover there in the tunnel system and hoisted a large rock up from the ground and into the air with his imprecise geomantic movements. Matrix went about cutting the enormous rock with his holy laser and shaping it to a more correct size. Eventually it began to be surrounded by a bright white light of a misty appearance. Slowly but surely, Matrix worked away at the rock and sanded it into perfection. Matrix rubbed and polished at the chunk of rock, the magic turning the ordinary stone surface to an entirely different sort of material.

It was not the white holy diamond that made up the crystal beings he first created, nor was it quite the multicolored crystal lattices he had created to be the city city of diamond. It was none of these things quite, nor ordinary rock now. By now when he was done with it, it was an entirely clear sort of crystal, shaped in one perfectly globe shaped orb that fit inside the palms of two hands. There were rock breakings littering the floor around him and it, chunks of rock strewn about the tunnel floor and little diamonds sprinkled the dull floors of the underworld cave. Powdered rock and gemstone laid about the ground, floating before Matrix was the finished product.

Alai Hino

The mortal strode through the halls, his robes floating behind him. The silken garments were of the typical flowing style of court that Alai's mother had popularized during his father's reign. His brother had not yet taken a wife to set new standards for the court, and so his mother's style stayed, even if she had been shipped across the Emerald Sea to some foreign sea lord's harem, as part of a diplomatic deal that gave his brother the forces to be the first king of Maegros to completely unite the Helin Peninsula.

At the end of a long open air corridor he heard the fast shuffling of silk shoes that indicated the approach of Gelding. The odd fellow stood only about 4 feet tall, but unlike a dwarf was properly proportioned, looking just like a miniature human. He hailed from what the common folk called Pygmy, or as proper nobility knew it, Loth Isle, where he was apparently among the largest of his kind. The pygmy whistled up and said "You hearing who visit?"

Alai looked down at the small man and said "A visitor? Of what manor of visitor is this newcomer?"

Gelding smiled like the little demon he was and said "Suitor yes, Princess of Holk she used call."

Alai stroked his chin and said "My thanks for the warning Gelding."

The royal advisor strode into the throne room of the keep, it's sandstone arches rising high above as several examples of Maegros's natural beauty grew within, even a few animals. A peacock in particular cawed at him as he made his way to his brothers throne. Bowing before it, he rose. In most aspects, Alai and Jakar were indentical. But the difference of a few minutes and a scar on Alai's face that their father had put there to mark him as the younger twin. Jakar wore much heaver garments than Alai and had grown a large beard on his face. Alai approached his brother and asked "We have visitors today?"

Jakar nodded and said "The Princess of Holk. We do not know much about her but according to the scholar we sent out to the gate to meet her she matches all descriptors of her that we have, and even if she is lying, she has the wealth to pretend to be a princess."

The younger twin stroked his chin again and asked "What do you think she's here for?"

Jakar laughed boistrously and said "That much is obvious. Some great disaster recently befell Holk according to our scouts in the North. The exact nature is unknown to me, but it sounds nothing less than cataclysmic. I expect the Princess seeks allies in the south."

As if on queue, the great doors that most parties entered through burst open, as the Princess and her immediate retinue strode into the hall. The Princess herself was beyond beautiful, with pale skin, deep green eyes, and hair like pure gold. In the tropical light, she was absolutely radiant. Her retinue was made of her tired bodyguard of soldiers, haggard looking from the road, as well as the Princess's ladies in waiting. The announcer called out "Princess Liana Unhildr of Holk!"

The Princess approached and bowed before the throne, rising to her feet and said "King Jakar, your exploits are known far, as well as your conquests."

The Maegrosian king smiled and said "It is good to know that I am renowned somewhere at least. Before we go any further with why you are here Princess, I must know. We have been hearing disturbing things to say the least out of the north. Do you have any clearer news for me?"

The Princess meekly nodded and said "It was a nightmare unlike any I have ever seen. A mob of metallic creatures swarming the city walls, bursting through the gates. My group here only just escaped through the tunnels when the entire city was overrun. When I looked back... it was no less than Divine Combat. The Forge God smiting my good city to ash for reasons that still evade my knowledge."

Jakar and Alai had looks of horror on their face. Particularly moved, as if something was forcing his attention on the Princess, Jakar said "Celestials above... we must discuss this further, away from prying ears. If you would follow me, I have a quite safe diplomacy room..."

The king led the Princess into a small room behind the throne. Alai felt a certain dread as he watched the pair. They should be wary of these strangers, especially if the bring the wrath of a god with them.

The Princess

The king began to pour some wine from a decanter in the back. Liana admired Maegrosian architecture some more. Truly amazing feats with what all together was weaker building materials. Quite spectacular. The King placed a goblet in front of Liana and said "Now Princess, I have to know, what do you want from me?"

Liana took a deep breath and said "Simple, I want this." Before lunging for the King and locking him in a kiss. Liana felt the rush of the Mortal's soul leave his body. Wiping her lips, she looked at the soulless mummified corpse of King Jakar IV, The Greatest of Maegros. Lokarn smiled. Now her work could really begin.

Matrix looked at the clear orb of gemstone with excitement, his spirit pulsing with excitement. Just thinking about all of the things he could do with this new holy artifact made his energy shiver with anticipation. Matrix did the equivalent of breathing to steady himself in his excitement and plunged.

Matrix plunged his being into the crystal clear orb and filled it with his light. Sitting down in meditation whilst inside the crystal ball, he slowly began humming. His legs were criss cross in a full lotus position and his hands were in his lap like the practitioners of Zen Buddhism, thumbs touching but barely touching, palms and the rest of his hands one atop the other. Matrix began to to channel earth energies from the spirits of nature in the underworld, taking their souls and weaving them throughout the space in and around him.

The crystal ball quickly filled up with the energy of plantlife, their likeness filling it and surrounding it. Matrix became one with the divine spirit energy surrounding him, at once merging with the local underworld flora and becoming a part of one super sentient tree of divination of sorts. Beautiful ethereal lights filled the room they were in now, the shapes emanating from the crystal ball mirroring that of leaves and vines now, flowers of multicolored lights filling the cavern as he worked his magic.

The souls of the local plantlife began to merge more or less into one super sentient entity, their individual souls being absorbed into one highly intelligent and multifaceted soul with many different personalities all in one being. At the center of this being was Matrix the central lotus, the mother tree of sorts, or rather, father tree. True to his old name as he merged his consciousness with that of the local plantlife he let out one loud and very encompassing HAAAAAAAAAuuuuuuuuuummmmmm, his voice deep and loud and reverberating all throughout the tunnels of the underworld. One supposed was in a way STILL the humming one in some respect.

His loud but somehow soothing humming vibrated throughout the tunnels and vibrated through all the vines of the new ethereal supercomputing mega plant entity, the leaves of this new plant shaking as the humming shook it's ethereal cell structure and intricate lattices of semi solid matter. As he hummed, the roots of this plant shot out of the bottom sphere of the crystal ball and burrowed their way through the ground, multicolored ethereal lights hiding themselves partly under the earth. With every hum the roots of this new godly entity stretch farther and farther in every direction, their consciousness spreading to all points on the root system as the plant grows more and more complex.

There at the center of it all was Matrix. Every being in there still had their own unique identity and ways of being despite being more or less merged into one magical soul. Matrix smiled uncontrollably, somehow feeling very happy to be joined in with the souls of all these other beings in perfect harmony with nature. As they grew their roots to see more and more of the tunnel system, they threw ethereal light in every direction, their hearts beating as one magical soul. Their souls breathing, their heart resounding pleasantly with a nice loud but soothing beating like that of a very nice native Native American drum.

Yxarus, The Great Anarch

Yxarus had an emotionaless expression as he watched Kalon and his men meet their gruesome fate. They all had a choice, and like the idiot humans they were, they chose poorly. He could not help but smirk, however, as Xino conversed with Kalon who survived in accordance with his command. The Great Anarch gave out a thunderous laugh that shook the earth when Kalon spoke of Kirson bringing doom upon him.

"Will he now, huh, Kalon The Not Great At All?" Yxarus cackled as he bent down to get into the portal's face, "Look around you! All your troubles began when Kirson got here, did they not? Look at it all from an, ugh, logical perspective and see for yourself. Not once since he came into your life did Kirson ever help you, but rather brought plague, drought and famine upon you. In the end, Kirson delivered you to the mercy of the Great Anarch and King Azgon, expecting untold suffering upon you."

Yxarus then shrunk down to the size of that of a human and gave the mortal a disappointed expression. "You choose poorly, Kalon." He said calmly and coldly, "I offered you an Empire and yet you choose to be at the mercy of one! Now, with all your friends dead, untold torment awaits you in the Kingdom of Azgonia! ...Luckily though, I am a patient and forgiving God to mortals like yourself..."

Yxarus snapped his fingers and brought forth the golden parchment. "Just sign your signature here, and you will be under my protection." He said, "You will escape the unspeakable horrors of the dungeons of Azgonia and I will start your life a new! Under my protection you will have an Empire to take, rule and call your own. Just take a moment and think. A contract is binding. As much as I dont like the legality of the world, even I am bound to my words. Sign it and all I promise come to path... or not sign it and be forsaken by the gods. Your choice..."

Kirsin,
Defender of the Laws of Physics,
The Great Mover,
God of Forces

Kalon was most definitely conflicted. On the one hand, Kirsin had most definitely abandoned him. There was no chance that the 'Defender of Physics' would come and save him now. Turning it over in his mind, like the sands in an hourglass, Kalon gazed back up at Yxarus, a certain sadness in his eyes and the weight of much suffering on his shoulders. Kalon was tired. No longer had he the vitality or vitriol found in the times past, when he spat at gods and was fanatical in his devotion to Kirsin. But the ambition was still there, somewhat. The lust for power, even if only a small one... And that Yxarus was offering what Kirsin had offered? Maybe this was too good to be true.

Kalon lifted an arm. As he did so, the flesh from his arm began to tear off. Kalon let out a gasp, his jaw moving oddly in his mouth. A deep inhalation of breath brought untold pain and suffering to him, as he gazed down, his chest no longer moving, appearing stuck in one position, though Kalon could feel the breathing continue. As he struggled to get free of whatever hold had taken him, his mind tried to move, though part of his body remained. The structure of his body was disassembling itself in front of him, the forces simply ceasing to function, and the structure into molecules, and the molecules into atoms, and the atoms into particles. Kalon struggled on the ground, in great pain, watching as parts of his body separated from others, before disappearing totally. Kalon looked behind Yxarus, mouthing one final "Why", before disappearing entirely into thin air. With that, the area around shook, as the familiar golden shield of Kirsin hit the ground.

"I see you have met my enforcer?" Kirsin spoke to the two gods, striding towards them, and re-attaching the gauntlet to their arm. They gave the fingers a short flex, before continuing towards the gods. Their face yet again the familiar shadow, deep crimson eyes staring almost coolly at the gods as they stood, defiant, "Kalon Vald. He was a willful creature, that much is clear. Had I the ability to regret or be sorrowful, I would be almost sorry to have to let him go. Alas, his will did not hold out. Nor, by the end, did I expect it to. But he served my purpose well, and likely would have continued to do so long after you both had lost interest if you had let the village be."

Kirsin gazed down at the place where their enforcer was kept, almost reminiscent of times gone by. Though Kirsin was not a god of reminiscence or remembrance. Kirsin was the God of Forces. Defender of the Laws of Physics. The Great Mover. As such, Kirsin would remain true to themselves and continue.

"While I must admit, I commend your valiance in defeating my enforcer and this village, I must show my gratitude for the gifts you both have given me. And, in fact, the victory you have presented both to me and to the forces of order. It must not have been easy going against your own nature to do as such."

Juri

She sat in her floating home, her face being one of contemplation. At her front, an large and inconspicuous looking table that held a map of the entire known world in great detail. Not just any map, but one embued with her magic. The map was constantly updating, the borderlines of the nations constantly shifting once a war came, dots with names appearing whenever a city was founded, and simply fading away once razed, she could also shift it to any view of the map, as it was no globe, and tapping on a detail brought up a floating scroll that described what you tapped on in a quick but informative manner. She took in the practical beauty of her little creation, to the regular man, this was simply some map to marvel at, but to conquerors, this was the key to ruling the world, and for explorers, this was pure joy. She noted it further, the various continents, archipelagos, the many nations and the cities that were scattered about.

The world was a large one, and all the continents were connected by a large land bridge at the far north (think Earth but Antarctica is in the north, connecting all continents). This land bridge was a harsh and desolate land, but in the various river valleys that dotted it, her creations as well as the humans coexisted in order to survive in this cold hell, and they successfully did so, and thrived even, with some help from her of course but that was beside the point.

Small city-states specializing in the trade of exotic furs and whale oil, as well as sealskin and their other products, had popped up, along with nomadic tribes with their monstrous mammoth cavalry, and their patron deity was her, and her alone, though the closer you went to the equator, the less her influence was in strength, unless it was the rabbits, which tended to worship her exclusively and drive out any possible missionaries. But, this status quo was going to change, and she needed to intervene herself, again. Shifting to the form of a purple haired rabbit with perky ears and red eyes, she flew down from her floating house and into the frozen lands down below. She took one more look at her home, covered in clouds, it would be very hard to spot in the constant darkness of the Arctic. A mere moment later, she landed gently in the snow.

On her maps, she had noted the various tribes just below where her house was, and checking on some of them, it seemed that this area was a unstable place. But now, she merely had to destabilize it to the point of breaking the powers of that area, and what better way than to kill all the leaders and grab power in all of them? This was all planned of course, the tribes were going to meet up in a warm cave, it would be a real shame if an earthquake hits them.

And that’s exactly what happened, though it may have been too strong, as it would be felt way down south.

Cyrion had retreated back into his palace. The Anarch had decided to torment a small village after pestering Cyrion, which Cyrion had dutifully recorded. It had turned into a minor spat between three gods, but this wasn't unusual to Cyrion. All of the excitement at Holk had vanished by now, as the gods had quickly returned to their petty squabblings and plots of intrigue. Good for the mortals, and also good for Cyrion's boredom. However, it was not Cyrion's job to act or complain, merely to watch. And no matter how boring it appeared to be, Cyrion still had to record it.

Cyrion still somewhat wished he could move on from this universe, like the great elder being that had given Cyrion his power. At the beginning, Cyrion had wondered what had caused this being to give up this great of a power. But now Cyrion understood. The novelty of being able to watch and record all of history turned into monotony. Every day, gods and mortals seeked power, and their fortunes rose and fell with the days, weeks, months, years, decades, centuries, millenia, eons... if Cyrion was not the god of time, he would have lost count so long ago.

Cyrion opened the door, stepping out into one of his palace's seemingly infinite hallways. He made his way around the labrynth that no mortal could possibly navigate alone, finally arriving at the menagerie. Beasts of all shapes and sizes came up to the glass, wagging their tails. They recognized that Cyrion was their master. In this, Cyrion could understand his fellow gods' quest for worshippers. The pure... adulation he got made him feel warm inside, from all of these beasts. Of course, Cyrion himself had no interest in worshippers, and his followers were few in number, creating their histories to benefit all of humanity, all lesser versions of Cyrion's great book itself.

Cyrion walked down to the deeper levels. Now, the more... traditional animals were gone, replaced by weird and awful creatures. Most of them were monsters, but some of them were creations of the Anarch and others like him. They were pale mockeries of other animals, mostly being amorphous blobs of eyes, mouths and tentacles, beasts that would drive mortals insane. To Cyrion, they were just an eyesore - a mere annoyance, just like everything the Anarch did. He though back to their conversation, and then Cyrion thought about how right after that conversation, the Anarch did the exact opposite of what Cyrion did. Like Cyrion expected anything different from the pest.

Cyrion emerged into the hallways, and approached the living quarters of his family. They were divine, but almost powerless compared to everyone else. He did not have much time for his family, as his work consumed him. His small children hugged his knees, as his wife came up to greet him, embracing him. However, Cyrion pulled away, and returned to his work, walking-stick in hand.

Yxarus, The Great Anarch

Yxarus's eye twitched and his fingers clenched & unclenched as Kalon desintergrated before him. He glared up at Kirson, his teeth grinding as he seethed in divine yet chaotic anger. "What in the Creator's name are you babbling about you fool?" The Great Anarch sneered, "I actively opposed you throughout this whole affair just has I have opposed you since the beginning! I won this battle! I tore down your so-called enforcer's world to sunder and broke both his body & spirit! In the end, Kalon turned against you and nearly signed his eternal services to me. How can such a sane God like yourself call this victory? Are you just as insane as I am? Or was this simply yet another one of your social experiments on the pathetic lab rats?"

Kirsin,
Defender of the Laws of Physics,
The Great Mover,
God of Forces

Were Kirsin capable of smiling, they most definitely would have done. Regardless, Kirsin was satisfied very strongly with the result. Not only the result of the battle of wits between the gods, but of Yxarus' apparent confusion. It was true, Kalon's forces had lost. In that way, perhaps it was a draw, or perhaps it was even a victory for both sides. But Kirsin knew that the chaos god would not see anything less than the obliteration of Kirsin's ambitions, something he thought he had achieved, as a victory. Kirsin knocked their shield onto the ground again, and the village appeared before them.

"You are correct. You defeated my enforcer, killed his armies, obliterated the village, sent Galen Jacques to pillage everything, had the army led by King Azgon take all of the surrounding land. In any normal circumstance, this would be a victory. And thus, I congratulate your valiance - you interfered in my plans to stop them from working, and as such, brought about the collapse of the plan I had thought up," Kirsin's map zoomed out, "But what else did you do? Well, you proved to me that this will, one I thought was strong, was weak and feeble. One to whom an empire is unworthy. The wills of those who followed him were weak too. They put up a fight, which is only expected - they were in the presence of gods and great men. But their wills faltered."

Kirsin walked away from the simulation they played, moving around the area, each step appearing forceful, "I remain rather surprised that you both value loyalty so much when you do so little to earn it. Perhaps you enjoy humans, mortals and their ilk. You enjoy making them dance for you, carry out your will, obey you, maybe even worship you. You make platitudes about how so many gods value morality, as if they are some kind of mortal life, hating them for it, despising them for it... Though you are no better. And this is evident in the manner by which you 'defeated' me."

Kirsin looked out again over the area where Kalon stood. Now, no sign of him remained. Kirsin continued, "You see, I have no love of humans. Most of them, to me, seem the same. They are born, they get up several thousand times, do things expected of them by gods and men, follow orders, and then die. It is only the truly exceptional that stand out to me. That are impressive to me. That cause me great joy and elation - the ones with ambition, and the ones with the will and power to execute that ambition. Yes, I promised Kalon an empire, but what are promises to humans? To mortals? They are worth no more than the memories of the humans that make them, no more than the words that are spoken by them. So where is Kalon now? I cannot see him. He is now less than nothing - nothing is now what the pieces of him that float around us aspire to be," Kirsin raised a gloved hand to point at Yxarus, "But you? You really care about your promises, don't you? You tried to give Kalon a way out. You actually cared about him. Such a human trait. You have been around them far too long."

The god walked over to look at Azgon's army, "And you promised this one an empire. Or, at the very least, the building of his empire served your purposes. And now, what has this left us? It has left us exactly the thing I wanted - a willful, powerful, ambitious man whose willpower changed the world. Azgonia has become a new order. Azgonia will last for thousands of years in the minds, if it does not on the mortal plane. King Azgon will impact the lives of billions - even if you kill him now, scatter his empire to the four winds, those who once ruled instead of him are now dead, and Azgon's vassals control the land. Even if they squabble amongst each other, they are there thanks to his changes to the fabric of the world. Maybe you can kill all of them, tear down their structures. But how long will it be before someone declares themselves King of the Ashes? I will be there next to them, with every ambition they profess and every will that brings them to glory."

Kirsin turned to Xinos, "And you? You have created a true man in Galen Jacques. He wants to be the greatest bandit in the world. And you have promised him that. He will impact billions too, in folklore and in story, where parents will tell their children of the wrath of Galen Jacques on the unwary traveller, taking gold in the night, never letting travellers become complacent. You've caused ripples abounding."

Kirsin finally turned back to Yxarus, "But do you know what the greatest irony is? You created a kingdom, a monarchy, and dared to name it in honour of chaos. If Azgon were some simple sacker or salvager, he would never have made it this far, but you? You turned him into a conqueror, bringing order to formerly chaotic lands by the sword," Kirsin stepped closer, finally speaking only inches away from Yxarus' face, "And how will he react when he finds out you offered his death to my enforcer?"

Kirsin stepped away again, "You gods of chaos never learn, order always comes in the end. The atoms, people, planets, stars, galaxies... None of them move with chaos. All of them run like a machine. One I intend to protect. One I have protected, and I will continue to. And despite your best intentions, human politics has proven the same way. I promised an empire, and out of fear of my empire, you created one for me."

The Defender of Physics turned towards the simulation he had created, lifting the shield to reveal a map of all Azgonia, united under Azgon's banner. "Now, what more can you offer this bringer of Order, Azgon, or those who come after him? I can offer them status as my enforcer. I can offer them power unrivaled. I can offer to give him relics that will make the attaining of his still growing ambition far easier. Whereas you? I doubt you have seen the folly in your ideology of chaos, so all you can offer him is death. I would welcome it, certainly. The machinery of humanity keeps turning... And order always comes."
