The URL for your character image isnt working, could you describe her appearance please? Other than that youre all set to start RPing with her '43 configuration. Best place to come in would be just to show up at the docks.

Alright.

I'll edit in the description.

Personnel file - Operational Sector Eastern Sea - West

Name:
  • AO - FE
  • ANMOQAM - FE (ɑnm-ɔkʼ-ɑm fɟɪ)
  • Nakhang Warship - Whistle
Type: Destroyer
Class: Type-F Class Destroyers
Role: Anti-Air Duty, Convoy/Escort Duty, and Night Patrol
Nation of origin: United Socialist States of Nakhang
Year commissioned: 2-44-1241 (3rd April 1941)
Image or description of the ship girl/boy:

FE is a brown haired and hazel eyed girl with a fair white complexion. As with all Nakanese people, she retains the signature 'Arcticoid' skull shape; moderately large cheekbones, circle-shaped frontal profile, medium length and breadth, and rounded orbital margins. At 155cm tall, and with an ectomorph body shape, FE is skinny and long; she has a long stride and reach for someone of her height. Her hair is flowing and smooth, always kept short and simple no matter the occasion. Most unusually, her eyebrows are thin, sometimes invisible whenever she is low lighting.

On her torso is a sleeveless buckskin blouse, which has a reddish-orange scarf wrapped around her neck. She also has a waist scarf with a gold and reddish-orange pentagon pattern wrapped around a long featureless buckskin kilt. Protecting her feet are a pair of simple leather sandals wrapped thinly in buckskin bandaging, extending up to her calves. Most distinctively, she wears a wide brim fedora with a reddish-orange band wrapped around it. Fitted with a stiff steel ring in the inside of the rim, the hat is a snug fit; it never comes off unless enough force is applied.

Her rigging is consisted of two parts: wrists and waists. Her main armament (twin 110mm guns) are mounted like concealable wrists guns (one on each wrist), while her torpedo tubes hang from each side of her waist.

Gender: Female
Character: FE is a stoic and disciplined individual, only speaking in Nakanese whenever she speaks - something that makes it difficult for others to understand her. She is a woman of action rather than words, refraining from any form of speech unless necessary or sensing anything aloft or curious. In combat, she is clinical and zooty, although she is a humble and honorable foe; she is a woman of her word. Needless to say, she hates lying to both friend and foe alike, even going so far as to despise betrayal. In fact, she hates telling people what to do, preferring to hint, state hints, or silently gesture or act upon something to grab someone's attention.
Special abilities: FE has a special ability called, Oxnow (lit. "Wind-Spin"; ɔxn-ɔw). Like the Nakhang martial arts of the same name, oxnow involves a mixture of extremely fast spins, jumps, and running with kicks and feints to redirect, deflect, or dodge incoming attacks. The concept of oxnow is perpetual motion, keeping the enemy in a constant state of uncertainty and confusion while the user is able to openly and freely evade any oncoming strikes. In the hands of a shipgirl, oxnow allows FE to dodge or redirect projectiles and enemies alike (especially aircraft). Unfortunately, oxnow is a test of extreme stamina and agility - FE will eventually tire and unexpectedly faint if she keeps using oxnow for too long.
Technical Description of the vessel:

As a newly industrialized nation in the early 20th century, Nakhang was a nation unified by xenophobia and a common cultural identity. To protect its sovereignty and resources, Nakhang needed a military to defend itself, and this was met with mixed results. On one hand, the creation of the Nakhanese Army was a success, thanks in large part to rigorous standardization and simplification - something that negated any logistical nightmares and boosted nationalist pride. On the other hand, the Nakhanese Navy was a disaster in the making. This has much to do with the country's economic history.

The ancient Nakhanese system of mandatory public system, Alq, dictated the socio-economic landscape of the Antarctic archipelagos for centuries. While this system was dismantled and corrupted by European colonization in the Americas, Alq was left uninterrupted despite westernization and modernization in the 19th century. Unlike the rest of the world, the ideas of unemployment and poverty was an unknown concept to Nakhang thanks to Alq; however, the centralized planning and enforcement utilized by Alq created a cashless and sluggish economy. Handicapped by strong tradition and job security, one particular industry negatively affected by Alq was shipbuilding.

In an effort to compete with the European shipping industry, Nakhang built small and fast freighters. On one hand, Nakhang was able to rapidly develop and build a massive merchant fleet, but the civilian naval construction boom created an increasing demand in fuel. While there were discoveries of natural gas deposits throughout the archipelago, the supply of raw minerals couldn't keep up with infrastructural expansion and construction. The reason that none of these issues could be adequately resolved was due to the lack of mechanization; everything was made possible only through manual labor. While there was an extreme division of labor and specialization in the Nakhanese workforce, large-scale projects, especially military, were forbidden for the sake of rapid modernization.

While the Nakhanese Army skirted around these limitations via a limited choice of simple weapons and vehicles, the Navy found itself unable to construct and operate large ships. By 1914, the largest ship type that Nakhang could muster were armored cruisers, and even then, their designs were underpowered and unimposing; they were medium-sized ships with simple 12cm to 16cm main armament and 3cm to 5cm secondary armament. On paper, the Nakhanese Navy was one of the largest navies in the world; however, when one took a closer look, there were only torpedo boats, destroyers, and cruisers (light and armored alike). To some, Nakhang was nothing more than a paper tiger, a fact repeatedly mentioned by the British. It wasn't until the outbreak of the First World War, that such allegations would come true.

In 1914, the British-Nakhanese operation to sink and destroy the German East Asia Squadron made it vehemently clear that Nakhang lacked a powerful and experienced navy. While Britain lost two armored cruisers and 1,660 sailors at Coronel, Nakhang's loss of seven light cruisers and one armored cruiser at Puerto Williams (3,900 sailors dead) was a humiliating defeat. Though the Nakhanese wounded and stalled the Germans long enough for British reinforcements to arrive, the pride of the Nakhanese navy was permanently tarnished. Combined with the navy's inability to repel the German U-Boat threat, Nakhang would spend the next 25 years restructuring and redeveloping its military naval industry from scratch.

One of the greatest interwar developments in Nakhanese naval technology was prefabrication. The hard lessons of World War One revealed major weaknesses in the Nakhanese Navy: no capital ships (i.e. battleships), underpowered armaments, and no anti-submarine capabilities. Throughout the 1920s, Nakhang gradually phased out much of its cruisers and destroyers; however, the economic repercussions of the Great Depression disrupted the modernization program.

Faced with major budget cuts and economic hardship, the military had no choice but to downsize, displacing and reallocating many former soldiers and sailors to alternative jobs. Fortunately, the reemergence of German naval might, and growing concerns of Japanese naval expansion breathed new life into Nakhanese remilitarization. The key to its success and reemergence in the world stage lied not in the army, but the navy.

In 1936, Nakhang unveiled a new class of destroyer, the Type-A Class. Unlike its World War One predecessors, the Type-A Class was built in under a month, and prioritized weaponry over everything else. Armed with two triple-barreled 153mm turrets, ten twin-barreled 30mm cannons, and three depth charge launchers, the Type-A Class was a 'gunslinger' for a ship its type and size. Unfortunately, the lack of armor and its single hull design made the Type-A Class a metaphorical glass cannon.

The shortcomings of the Type-A Class were eventually remedied in the Type-B Class; however, the Type-B Class had its own problems. Although it was a fast and maneuverable ship design, one of the greatest flaws of the Type-B Class were poor ergonomics and semi-standard layouts. It was one of Nakhang's first ten ship classes of to be built with prefabrications, but unlike the others, the method of construction was different in which the hull was built akin a coil pot - nearly a hundred sections were transported and welded together to create a ship in a matter of a couple weeks.

The Type-C Class later perfected this prefabrication technique and outproduced the Type-B Class (45 Type-Cs versus 13 Type-Bs) via streamlined and simplified naval architecture. Unfortunately, the Type-C Class suffered from underpowered engines (25 knots) and mediocre electronics, all for the sake of cutting cost. This created a destroyer with decent surface and AA armaments, and could be built and maintained very cheaply; however, anti-submarine capabilities were rudimentary unlike the Type-A Class - something that greatly limited the Type-C's roles in the Second World War.

By early 1939, the Type-D Class was unveiled, built using more traditional prefabrication methods and favoring survivability/safety over everything else. Built with a wider breadth, a high freeboard, and an armored double hull, the Type-D Class was more like an armored icebreaker than a fast and maneuverable warship. Though it inherited the same propulsion problem with the Type-C Class, the Type-D Class had superior defensive armament and capabilities.

Later in the year, the Type-E Class was introduced into service; however, the Type-E Class differed from it's predecessors, because it was built around electronics. Derogatorily nicknamed by the Germans as, Blunthunde, the Type-E Class was designed to scout and locate for submarines and aircraft, along with jamming, eavesdropping, or distorting communications. Unfortunately, the Type-E Class was a prohibitively expensive and lightly armed vessel, with only five ever being made between 1939 to 1944.

By early-1940, Nakhang finally reacquired a sizable navy to contest German and Japanese naval power; however, while most of the Nakhanese destroyers were specialized, there was a dire need for a balanced destroyer design that can fulfill all these roles. The solution came in December 1940, when a new class of destroyer was unveiled. This was the Type-F Class Destroyer.

Incorporating the best of the previous destroyer classes, the Type-F had the offensive capabilities of a Type-A, the engines of the Type-B, the construction of a Type-C, the defensive capabilities of a Type-D, and the communication equipment of a Type-E. It was a beautifully designed mechanical chimera that became the standard template for Nakhanese destroyers. From 1941 to 1945, more than 77 Type-Fs would be produced, eventually being succeeded by the newer Cold War era Type-Gs and Type-Hs.
