Imperialisium has the map been updated? I have an idea for a nation, but would like to see what territories are taken before hand.

Hey Imp, I'm pretty sure I don't own Malta. Was actually going to try and make that a possible part of my future RP (possible point of conflict for anybody wanting to control the Mediterranean, too). Right now though, it's still owned by some Arab emir (assuming nobody else goes in to take it and whatnot).

Be careful going after the Mediterranean. You'll have to contend with the Byzantines, Italy, the Holy Roman Empire, and the "Mediterranean Powers".
It would be very difficult.

Ah my bad. I'll fix it. I must have misread your app since I thought you meant the islands of Sicily AND Malta (along with attendant islands surrounding them)

Malta is in my claims, but I definitely still don't control them.

Its a bit bare bones. But if you can post with the quality already seen in the IC there shouldn't be any issues. Accepted.

by Sweillia
NationStates Name: Sweillia
Nation Name: Civitas Schinesghe, Poland
Capital: Gniezno
Government Type: Feudal
Head of Government: Duke Bolesław I the Brave
Dynasty/Family Name: Piast dynasty
Population: 1.25 million
Eligible Military Population: 210 thousand
Territorial Claims: Pomerania, Cherven Cities
State Religion: Roman Catholicism
Dominant Religion: Slavic Paganism
Minority religions: Roman Catholicism
Religious Information: Despite the Baptism of Poland in 966, Christianity is viewed unfavourably by the common folk. Bolesław has attempted to increase the rate of Christianisation, however, this has caused relative unrest, particularly in the eastern regions.
Economy Information: The Polish economy is mostly agrarian-based, though efforts have been made to expand trade with other European nations, particularly southern Europe in order to extend papal protections against the Holy Roman Empire.
Military Information: The Duke commands a retinue, named a drużyna, of roughly 17 thousand men. Of these, about 4 thousand are cavalry, known as the pancerni, and the remaining 13 thousand are infantry, the tarczowniczy. This retinue is also reinforced by the 'Noble Host', the levy composed of men mobilised by local lords.
History: The nation of Poland was birthed in 966 at the Baptism of Poland, where Duke Mieszko I and most of his court converted to Christianity. During his reign as duke, Mieszko vastly expanded Polish lands. After Mieszko's death, his first son Bolesław became the new Duke of Poland. Bolesław's reign had rocky start, as Mieszko left behind many pretenders, but Bolesław managed to unite the realm. In 1002, the Congress of Gniezno officially established Poland as a European nation. However, the good relations between Poland and the Holy Roman Empire rapidly deteriorated upon the coronation of Henry II in 1902. This led to the Polish-German War, a series of struggles that are being resolved at Brautzen. In 1005, a rebellion in Pomerania lost Bolesław the lands in the north conquered by his father.

Ruler's Name: Duke Bolesław I the Brave
Ruler's: Age: 51
Ruler's Personality: Bolesław is very ambitious, constantly seeking to expand the Polish nation and regain the lands controlled by his father. He is very concerned with reforming Poland to a western-style nation. He is a highly skilled strategist.
Physical Appearance: Image
Ruler's Family Information: Bezprym, son aged 21. Regelinda, daughter aged 19. Mieszko Lambert, son aged 18.
Ruler's History: Bolesław was born to Duke Mieszko I and Dobrawa of Bohemia in 966. Around 977, Bolesław received Lesser Poland from his father in order to prepare him for the role of Duke. However some claim that he seized the area from his father with the support of the local lords. Instantly upon his ascension to Duke he had his hands full dealing with many pretenders. He solidified his rule, expelling the pretenders and even blinding some of their supporters. He had gained whole control of Poland by 996.

Bolesław began his reformation of Poland into a western monarchy with the Congress of Gniezno. Among other things, Bolesław secured arrangements for a coronation, however the death of the Holy Roman Emperor put these plans on hold, as the new Empreror, Henry II, had rather different plans. Henry ordered an attack on Bolesław that he barely survived. This shattered relations between the Polish and the Germans, leading to the Polish-German war.

Bolesław is currently attending peace talks in Bautzen, the aim of which is to put a final, long overdue stop to the war.

Don't think that's allowed, though. Bit too far outside the map and everybody else.

Figuring out my next post. Will take a while, trying to hammer out the general direction of my kingdom's RP.
