Cnut the Great Bookie here. Place your bets, place your bets. 3/4 chance of the expedition becoming a total failure, 1/4 chance of the Calipha going nuts. Will the Pope intervene? Will Genoa fall to Dar-Al-Islam? Place your bets!

With Toaslandia and your permission I would like to retcon my two previous post to take place earlier than I originally posted since I am otherwise stuck and can't post till everyone else move further along, plus both Toaslandia and I will miss a good bit of campaign season if we didn't start preparing for war till late March.Toaslandia wrote:I sure hope that my soldiers in Iberia aren't murdered by the Caliph's wife.
Don't worry they won't be.

Yep, that's why I let the merchants do the shipbuilding. When I need ships, I just tak--I mean "borrow" their ships.

Only the Byzantines, the the Fatimids had standing navies. The Sicilians did as well historically, but the Sicilian player wrote them out of his app.
