Here's the other character I wanted to get up. I'll try to get a post up for Sylanna later today.

Name: Frey Farwind
Age: 24
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Appearance: Here
Statistics:
Strength: 3 - Strong
Better than your average Joe, you can lift other people and swing steel with ease. Still nothing worthy of renown.
Agility: 5 - Heroic
You've been asked if your father was a cheetah, that's how fast you are. You've exceeded your mortal peers and now enjoy speed and agility beyond the norm, though you probably spend quite a bit on shoes.
Endurance: 3 - Tough
You can get into a decent rumble and probably won't come out any worse for wear. Pretty good, though not outstanding.
Magical Prowess: 1 - Incapable
Magic? What's magic? You probably can't do it at all, unless something else's doing it for you and then, you probably don't get how it works. Or you can maybe do talismans or magic potions but as we all know that's not real magic.
Bio:
For the child of a feared pirate captain, Frey was surprisingly kind as a child. Single-handedly raised by his mother, he lived a quiet life in a no-name village on some backwater island, spending most of his time outside playing with the village's various animals or out in the farm helping his mother make a living. All the while, she would tell him stories of his father, a brave man by the name of Fergus. Those stories caused an adventurous spirit to burn within the boy, and he began spending his spare time out on his own, exploring the village's surroundings and pretending to go on quests of his own. Growing up to be a healthy, strong boy, he began spending more and more time on the family's farm, doing everything in his power to ease the burden on his aging mother. For a while, life went on quietly. But not long after he had turned ten, a ship arrived at the shores of that small island, known to host one of the most fearsome pirate crews in the Archipelago: the Maelstrom. They descended from the ship and, instead of so much as glancing at the village, marched straight towards the farm, where Frey's mother walked out to confront them.

At his mother's command, Frey hid. But it soon became evident that things were getting heated, and as he peeked outside through the window and saw the Captain about to hit his mother, he ran out of the house and attempted to tackle the pirate, obviously failing due to the sheer difference in strength. Much to his mother's dismay, the boy was caught, and discovered the truth behind all the stories his mother had told him: that man she called his father, Fergus, was in truth none other than the fearsome Captain Farwind of the Maelstrom, scourge of the Eastern Seas.

He never saw his mother again. In exchange for the promise that she and the village would not be touched, he ceased his meaningless struggle and went along with the pirates. He soon found out that the sole reason his father had come was to train his eventual heir, and train him he did. Despite the fact that he was only ten years old, the Captain showed no mercy, forcing his son to swing the cutlass for hours on end, assigning him various jobs on board of the Maelstrom, and only sometimes allowing him a moment to rest as he taught the boy about some of the finer parts of sailing and piracy.

Despite his resentment about being taken away from his quiet life with his mother, Frey took to life on the seas like a fish to the water. His desire to go back home was offset by the prospect of adventures on the high seas, and while his training was arduous and sometimes borderline cruel, it also represented an opportunity to become the fearsome fighter he imagined himself as during his daydreaming hours near the village. In time, he even began to see all the positive qualities his mother had spoken of in regards to him: while he was indeed a pirate, and cared little for the well-being of anyone not from his crew, it was true that he was proud, brave and unyielding. In particular, Frey eventually came to realize that, while a pirate would lie and steal and kill, someone like his father still dared not go back on his word once it had been given. This fostered in the boy a deep respect for his father; while they would never see eye to eye, the man had a certain greatness to him, that much could not be denied.

The boy's new life as a pirate continued, and though he was not allowed to fight or go anywhere near where the action was just yet, his training progressed. Two years after he had joined the crew of the Maelstrom, another newcomer arrived, a girl only a couple of years older who was called Tari Erdove. Being close in age and having similar adventurous spirits, the two became fast friends and rivals, competing for the Captain's favor and seeking to outdo each other during their frequent sparring matches; Frey's long head start in terms of training often gave him the edge, but he soon learned that was no reason to underestimate his friend. It was also around this time that he earned two companions that would stay with him his whole life, a pair of exotic hawks he had rescued from a sinking ship after his father had attacked it.

Fun as it might've been, this phase of his life wouldn't last. Soon the two young pirates started accompanying the rest of the crew on their raids, and while Frey proved himself as an excellent fighter time and time again, relying more on his exceptional agility and skill than on brute strength, he also revealed to be, on the whole, a less than stellar pirate. Strong morals, courtesy of the time spent with his mother, prevented him from carrying out acts of cruelty against innocents. He began criticizing the actions of his father and his fellow crewmates near constantly, not minding actions taken against the navy or other pirates but utterly disgusted at their treatment of innocents in various towns and cities across the Archipelago. At the same time, he began showing more and more of his father's personality, defying the Captain's authority time and time again with little regard for consequences, firm in his own convictions.

Truth be told, he didn't know why he was allowed to remain on the crew, though he suspected his father was, at the least, proud of his free spirit. Whatever the case, though, he grew very distant from his father, the rest of the crew, and especially from his friend Tari, fights between the two becoming increasingly common. This trend continued until, eventually, the fearsome Captain Farwind passed away, leaving his son the ship. This surprised many, including Frey, as by this point it was believed by the rest of the crew that Tari would make a far better pirate, something he could only agree with. So when she challenged him for the ship, he simply forfeit and let her have her way; where she saw an opportunity to reclaim her well-deserved reward, he saw a chance to distance himself from the life of a pirate.

However, this did not mark the end of Frey's adventures. Instead of continuing to plunder, he became an avenger, roaming the Archipelago and targetting pirate crews, either stopping their raids or stealing from them to give back to the people they had wronged. Naturally, this put her at odds with Tari and her crew, and it wasn't long until they met again. The pirate crew descended upon a prosperous maritime town that the young man happened to be in at the time, and though he knew he would be no match for the entire crew of the Maelstrom, he also knew something key about pirates: they're nothing without a ship. Thus, while the pirates fought and overwhelmed the local guard, Frey snuck into the Maelstrom and burned it to the ground.

Drunk off of his success as a hero of the people, Frey continued on his way, targetting pirates and corrupt officers alike. It wasn't until his path of justice led him to plan and carry out the murder of a tyrannical noble on some far off island that he realized things had finally gotten out of hand for him. Fearing prosecution and unwilling to ask for the aid of the Archipelago's outlaws, Frey left his home region and took to wandering throught the center and west of Requiem, doing odd job to stay alive. Eventually, he came to learn about the Paean Legion, an organization that gave him the opportunity to do some good in the world and earn some coin while at it. Thinking it was the perfect profession for him, he joined without a second thought, becoming a Red Cloak.

Heroic Boon:
Shroud of Shadow - Frey's boon allows him to become completely obscured from sight, giving him the opportunity to sneak up on his foes and freely wreak havoc. He cannot have this ability active for very long periods of time, but lurking through shadows makes it less taxing to maintain.
Abilities:
  • [Blade Mastery]: Due to his extensive training with his father, his own efforts to learn, and his experience fighting pirates and bandits of all sorts, Frey has learned to use a variety of bladed weapons to deadly effect.
  • [Hawk Mastery]: Frey's bond with his two pet hawks, Gust and Gale, allows him to give them a variety of commands.
  • [Stealth]: Out of necessity, Frey learned to sneak around foes and set up ambushes in order to overcome overwhelming odds.
  • [Sailing]: Having worked with the crew of the Maelstrom for several years, Frey's well acquainted with the key aspects of seafaring.

Limitations:
  • Frey relies on stealth and agility to prevail. In a straight fight against powerful foes or large numbers, he'll be at a disadvantage.
  • Using his Shroud of Shadow under direct sunlight is a lot more draining than usual.

Equipment:
  • [Cutlass]
  • [Estoc with Thunder Enchantment]
  • [x2 Butterfly Swords]
  • [x2 Daggers]
  • [Light Leather Armor]
  • [Standard Supplies]

Indo-pasif archipelago wrote:Name: Rajasa Samudraningrat, known to most as Raja The Exiled or Raja The Skinwalker.
Age: 25 years old
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Appearance:
Statistics:
Strength: 3
Agility: 4
Endurance: 2
Magical Prowess: 3
Bio:
Most only know Raja of his title as The Exiled. That said, not many knows why he was exiled from The Eastern Archipelago. Some says he was once the crew of a feared and sadistic group of pirates and his exile is the punishment he has to suffer after he was caught. Some speaks of the rumors that he is the son of a king and a whore, that his exile is to clean the name of his father. Other says that his origin was mythical in nature, that he was somehow born among sea monsters and creatures of nightmares, and he was not exiled but merely sent to hunt on the land-kin.

The truth is, none of these legends are true. That said, they are not without a grain of truth, each of them stems from an actual part of his story.

His story begun in the Kingdom of Mandalasari, a city-island in The Eastern Archipelago that holds sway over other neighbouring islands. Raja is the son of a Bhre, a lesser king that acts as vassal for Mandalasari. The House of Samudraningrat had hold the title for generations and Raja was expected to inherit this title and was prepared accordingly. He was trained in the traditional art of Silat, taught to speak and write in traditional Svarnabhumi dialect and Thaspian language, and pushed to memorize all the important names in the whole Eastern Archipelagos and beyond.

All these training and teaching meant Raja did not get very close to his parents. It is not like they ignored him, or cared more about him as the next in line instead as their son, but they did not share much quality time between the two. Raja adores and loves his parents, but he never truly feels that they were his parental figure. He bonded instead with his mentor and the admiral of Mandalasari's armada Pati Nala, and he quickly proved himself worth to be Nala's apprentice.

It was this connection with Nala that saved Raja's life when a lesser noble revolted against his family. The noble rallied the people and other noble houses against The Samudraningrat. They along with the loyalist were slaughtered after the palace gate was broken down in the stampede. Some however, managed to hide and slip away from the island with the help of Nala and his allies among the Makara, the amphibian creatures that lurk the shallow beaches of Eastern Archipelago. Leaving the burning island behind them, they hid themselves for a few months among the Makara. It was during this time Raja learnt the Ajian Leak from the Makara, a magic he only had heard before and never saw it properly used. The Makara taught him well, but it was not without any catch; there is a reason after all, why the magic is not as widespread as it is.

To everyone else in the world, Rajasa and Nala is as good as dead. Nobody could really confirm their death, but their corpse could be one of the many burned corpse left among the ashes of the former royal ground. But the revolting noble knew he is still alive, somewhere out there and watching the ports and large cities of the Archipelago. When his attempt slowed down after awhile, Raja used the chance to hop from one island to another anonymously, trying to run away as far as possible from the Eastern Archipelago. He would hitch on cargo or merchant ships, earning money through doing rough jobs and becoming an errand boy. One day though, the ship he was hitchhiking on his way to the Western Heartland was boarded by pirates.

Survival being his top priority, Raja and Nala helped fight the pirates away. The combination of their strength and Raja's aptitude in magic even up the odd, but ultimately the two men was not enough to fight a whole crew and they were overwhelmed after an hour of fight. The captain saw their skills, and offer them a choice. To be left for dead along with the other crews of the boarded ship, or join the pirates and fight for the captain. Nala chose the first, while Raja took the second. After saying each other good byes, Raja left Nala on the doomed ship, hoping his mentor would be able to find a way to survive. He knew how his mentor favor honour above all things, but what Raja was thinking at the time is how to survive as long as he could. And thus he traveled across the sea as a pirate, earning the nickname of The Exiled after he told them the heavily censored and distorted version of his story. It was also during this time people first called him The Skinwalker after his unique aptitude in magic.

His time as a pirate ended when a fight against rival crew killed the captain and destroyed the ship. Raja was again left for dead, this time with nobody to help him. His body was found on the coast of Western Heartlands, weak and dying but not dead yet. Luckily, when he was found by the local villagers, a physician offered to take care of him. She was able to speak some Thaspian and while limited, at least he had someone to talk to. Through her, Raja learnt where to find busy cities where he could take a job as a bounty hunter or a sellsword. He finally reached the Velathri Republic, where he found out that the Paean Legion was hiring. He took the job for the coins, but a passion is still burning in his heart, that one day, when he is in a better position, he could avenge his family and reclaim his birthright as the Crownless King of Mandalasari.

Heroic Boon:

Gift of The Waves- The Sea is part of Raja as much as Raja is part of the Sea, no matter how far they are from each other. Raja could call into this connection and briefly becomes a torrent of sea water, crashing into anyone or anything like the tide crashes to the beach.

Abilities:
  • [Martial Artistry]: Raja was trained to be the best warrior in Mandalasari, and while he had lost the honorary title, he had not lost the ability worthy of the title. He follows a certain style that mimics the movement of monkeys, focusing on graceful evasion and elegant counter-attacks. Raja is able to use this technique with weapons, preferably short knives.
  • [Seafaring Skill]: Living in the sea for a few years taught Raja a thing or two on surviving the harsh ocean. He knows his Bow and Stern, and able to captain a junk pretty well. He might not be the best mariner out there, but he sure able to stand his chance in a naval fight.
  • [Leak Magic]: Raja is taught by the Makara on how to use Leak magic, a school of magic focusing on shapeshifting through rituals and pacts with natural Spirits. He is limited at transforming into simple animals at the moment - usually a goat, a boar, or a monkey - but as his skills grow he could access the more.... esoteric forms.
  • [Silver Tongue]: Growing up among scheming politician and power-hungry courtesans taught Raja when and where to say his words, making sure that each word would comply others to believe what he wants them to believe and act what he wants them to act.

Limitations:
  • Raja has not uncovered the fullest extent of Ajian Pangleakan, and thus limited to basic techniques and only for a limited time.
  • Raja has no training in using long ranged weapon, being more comfortable in close quarter combat. If he could not reach the enemy, he is pretty much useless
  • Raja is powerful and quite nimble for someone of his size, but he lacks the endurance to hold out continuous attack. If he is forced to fight a long drawn fight, he has to play smart to conserve his strength
  • While he could be very persuasive, his charm is not magic. He could ask others to do his bidding, but there is no guarantee that they would actually do it.
  • The faction that overthrown his family is still searching for him, and while he has changed how he looks it would be dangerous for him to return to the Eastern Archipelago

Equipment:
  • [Kris Dagger]: A family inheritance that happens to be forged out of magnetite ore, resulting in sharp, durable weapon for him to use
  • [Chainmail and Leather Armor]: Basic armor that offers him protection while allowing him to move swiftly
  • [Machete]: Whenever he feels the need for bigger, badder blade.
  • [Skin Waterpouch]: To store drinkable liquid, from Arak to water
  • [Simple Compass]: Another heirloom of House of Samudraningrat. Upon its back the signet of his family was etched.
  • [Tunic and Hood]: Clothing for when he feels nobody is about to stab him in the back

Optional
Likes: Good fights, good drinks, swimming, Seafoods, cloudy days
Dislikes: One-sided fights, stale drinks, spice-less foods, shiny days
Greatest Fear: Losing his self and identity

Name: Ghazi Torva
Age: 35
Gender: Male
Race: Elf
Appearance: Tall, brown skin, thin, color changing eyes
Image

Statistics:
Strength: 2
Agility: 3
Endurance:2
Magical Prowess: 5
Bio: Ghazi was a esteemed astrologer in his village. People would come to him to know what their futures would be. Ghazi would look at the stars and tell them. One night, he was studying the stars when he noticed one seemed to be getting bigger. He was then hit in the chest with the fallen star. He woke up several hours later to find the star infused with his chest. He got up, and realized he had been surrounded by 5 bandits. Terrified, he threw his hands out, surprised to feel a light tingle in his fingers. Before he knew what had happened, he had burned the bandits to a crisp. Frightened, he fled the scene and never returned to his village. He eventually stumbled upon a mage who specialized in fire magic. He took Ghazi in as an apprentice, and when Ghazi told him what had happened, the mage simply said "You have been chosen by the gods for something greater than yourself. Use your gift to do good." From the point on, Ghazi was a devoted student and devout worshiper of the gods. After 10 years learning to master his power, Ghazi left the school at 30 years old, and traveled the world for the next 5 years of his life, helping people, stopping cultists, and helping whenever he could. Eventually, on his 35th birthday, he stumbled upon a Legion outpost that was besieged by a goblin horde. He rushed in to help the Legionnaires, killing 12 goblins on the way in. With the help of Ghazi, the Legion pushed back the horde. He then saw the noble cause of the Legion, and sent an application form in to see if he would be allowed to join.
Heroic Boon: The Dragon's Touch: When Ghazi touched the Stone, he felt a wave of fire rush through him. His boon allowed him to be immune to flames, which meant he could wear light armor instead of heavy armor because he didn't need to protect himself from his flames.
Abilities:
  • [Astrologer]: Ghazi can understand what and where certain constellations are, so if he gets lost he has a general idea of where he is.
  • [Fire blast]: Ghazi can shoot fire from his fingers, allowing him to burn his enemies without going near them.

Limitations:
  • He will not do things he believes will anger the gods, stopping him from doing anything that would harm an innocent

Equipment:
  • [Leather Hood and Armor]
  • [Scimitar]

Optional
Likes: Priests, Temples, Fellow Mages, Fire
Dislikes: Heretics, Bandits, Monsters, and Water
Greatest Fear: Being a heretic

Confederation of the Equator wrote:Name: Vulluin Berryann
Age: 26
Gender: Male
Race: Wood Elf
Appearance:
Statistics:
Strength: 3
Agility: 5
Endurance: 3
Magical Prowess: 1

Bio:
Born to a subjugated tribe in the Western Heartlands, Vulluin was quickly streamlined towards mastering the bow since a very young age, just like essentially everyone else in his community. Despite never having been given a choice on whether he liked that or not, he was clearly the most promising hunter in his tribe due to his talent with the weapon and the way he utilized his abitilies. Vulluin was not one to speak up a lot, or ever contest what he was being taught. For a moment, his tribe and their territory was all he assumed there was.

His brother Eraas, however, wasn't the average Wood Elf Vulluin found there. Eraas was one of the greatest warriors in the entire region, and would almost always be the one to bring the bigger prey home. Spending considerably more time with his older brother than with any other relative, Vulluin was all ears like he'd always been. Vulluin was quickly introduced to ideas and thoughts that had been alien to him up to that point: from the existence of stone agglomerates covering huge areas to an infinite lake of salt water, all those beyond his reach and imagination. Slowly but surely, his bond to his tribe's territory weakened, with Vulluin's own desire for personal freedom growing inside him.

As the years passed, he continued to pick up more and more habits from his brother, and was the most obvious choice to succeed him when it came to Eraas' status. Alongisde that, their failed attempts of venturing anywhere beyond their borders made him grow frustrated with his own Chiefs. At that point, both of the brothers were the tribe's elite archers, spearheading any ambush or hunt. Vulluin's admiration for his brother kept growing, even when it was clear Eraas was past his prime, and the siblings used every opportunity they could to explore farther: from sparing ambushed trespassers in exchange for information on the outside world to trespassing other territories themselves.

Word of their actions quickly arrived to the Chief of their tribe's overlord, who demanded a punishment for such actions. His brother secretly pleaded guilty to all crimes - even those done by Vulluin himself - and was sentenced to death in order to avoid a conflict between the tribes involved. The moment he knew of what had happened, a mixture of grief and rage took over him, leading Vulluin to consider revolting against his own tribe. However, a moment of reflection stopped him on his tracks. Eraas, the person he had always looked up to, took full responsibility for the actions of two. Vulluin's life had been saved, and it was not in his power to punish the crimes of those who had done his brother bad.

Utilizing his abilities, he was capable of stealing a horse and riding east towards the unknown he really loved, leaving his dear territory behind. There was no point in staying contained to an area his entire life when he could see all there was. The wind and the freedom of the prairies, the clear sky and the occasional farms. It was a long ride, but eventually most of the forests were out of sight. At that point, his only connection to his brother was the pipe Eraas used to smoke with, as well as Frog.

Vulluin eventually settled down at a farm west of the Urban Center, where he worked for a year and where he was given a human surname - Berryann - which he gladly took over his treacherous tribe's memory. However, once the desperate need for gold was behind him, he rode east to the actual city states - the jungles of stone he had been previously told about. Sure, that hadn't been the most accurate of descriptions, but it was good enough. Eventually, Vulluin found out about the Legion - and how it could be his way of exploring the world like Eraas had wanted.

Heroic Boon: Nocturnal Vision: Vulluin can see much more than the average elf in low-light conditions, although he can just barely identify shapes when it's pitch black.
Abilities:
  • [Wind Wisp]: Given his wisp is a spirit of wind, Vulluin utilizes its abilities to move his arrows mid-flight, allowing them to potentially go around corners or dodge obstacles.
  • [Shared Senses]: Vulluin can share the senses of animals from kilometers away and essentially see through their eyes and hear through their ears. However, this ability gets considerably weaker the farther he gets from nature (when in towns, for example)
  • [Peak Archery]: Following what's almost a tradition for Wood Elves, Vulluin is incredibly skilled with the bow, especially those of Elven fabrication.

Limitations:
  • Ability Interdependence: Given arrows move too quickly for him to utilize his wisp effectively, Vulluin relies on the superior eyesight of other animals to guide his projectiles, thus having to utilize two abilitie at once.
  • Energy Consumption: Utilizing his wisp's abilities is highly draining for him, thus making himself limit his use of abilities overall.

Equipment:
  • [Smoking pipe w/ tobacco]
  • [Composite Bow]
  • [Quiver w/ 36 iron arrows]
  • [Hard Leather Armor]
  • [Lockpicks]
  • [2 Steel Daggers]
  • [A very loyal frog called Frog]

Optional
Likes: Smoking, nature, peace of mind, nighttime, hunting, the unknown
Dislikes: Winter, noise, scorching heat
Greatest Fear: The prospect of not having lived by his own decisions

I don't think Wood Elves could bind with wisps. I never mention that Wood Elves have that ability.

To my fellow Goblin exterminators

I’ve only got one or two days worth of posts to go on but being in the UK it looks like it might be the early hours here when the forum gets busier.

I don’t want to hold things up and so if things get heated and I’m not around I’m happy for Telsor to be used in the following fashion:

* He will generally make be loyal to to the cause (unless the world is going to hell in a hand cart) and especially loyal to any who have gone out of their own way for him at some point - think neutral good.
* His priority will be to scout/gather intel on enemy strengths and weaknesses. His willing to take risks to get the most valuable intel back to the team.
* In strategy he will be happier fulfilling the role of a sniper using his crossbow. Preferably from a distance but if necessary as a fast moving marksman in the melee. Short and move, shoot and move.
* If deprived of the cross bow he’ll happily transition to short sword but again using similar hit and run tactics.
* In the melee he’ll take risks to support and save those he is especially loyal to.
* If by some chance the need to front the team arises Telsor is well placed to do this with his bargain/negotiate skill.

Finally got a post up for Sylanna. Gave peeps with nothing to do who signed up for the caravan escort mission something to respond to.

I'll get working on one for Frey now.

I don't think Wood Elves could bind with wisps. I never mention that Wood Elves have that ability.

I took it from Absolon's High Elves application:
Symbiotic Wisps - like all elves High Elves possess a symbiotic relationship with a nature spirit called a Wisp

Correct, all elves in the setting posses Wisps since that's their main feature

On the topic of Wisps, what would they be like/what would their behavior be on the day-to-day? I ask because I noticed it completely slipped my mind to mention mine, and noticed that you also hadn't mentioned yours.

Usually they'd be resting inside an elf but come out behind their back immediately when summoned through either voice or thought. When out in the open they float around either stationary above the elf or aimlessly in the area around them up to 2 or 3 meters away.

Alright. Didn't realize they'd simply be inside their hosts when idle, but that explains everything :P
