Though a good thing to remember is that a bunch of this world is based off of the idea of Shvii dominance over the galaxy, so you gotta be careful with making anything to big. In fact, most other races are usually in some way beholden to the Shvii, a little like Europe under Rome.

I have a few questions regarding the Shvii, since Elias would be well-positioned to know quite a bit about them: What do they look like, exactly? Are they still significantly more advanced than other races of the Hegemony, even at this point in time? How much do they involve themselves in other races' politics?

The Shvii are a lot like the Romans combined with the Mongolian Empire. They are able to maintain their position at the top do to to a much larger, older and well established nation, and though the other races under the umbrella of the Hegemony are advanced, they are only ever really as advanced as the Shvii want them to be.

Most races under the Hegemony as well are able to live mostly autonomously, being able to create their own laws, society's and cultures, but are required to pay tribute to the Shvii in whatever way they please.

However, the Shvii Hegemony has been around for nearly 2000 years now, and it is clear that their position on top is coming to a close. Most agree that this is due to their saving and admittance of Humanity into the Hegemony. This is due to the fact that most other races in the Hegemony have been there since about the start, and have grown complacent in their positions and have little reason to try and change anything in the Hegemony. After all, there is no one left who remembers what it was like before the Shvii came, and most races live relatively comfortable lives, though they are in essence one of servitude. Humans however, as the newest race in the Hegemony, and with a long history of warfare and currently occupying roles as mercenaries, soldiers and fighters much more heavily than most other races, and their small but vocal minority who question their positions and insist on learning about Old Earth, are the most dangerous to the Hegemonys power. This is because we are their enforcers, but also the ones most likely to rebel.

So, while the Shvii are trying to keep anyone from noticing the ever growing cracks in their power, it is clear that the end of Pac Shviimanica is coming to a close, and that Pax Humanica will likely rise. Which is of course why they are so uncomfortable with humans learning about themselves.

It should also be noted however as well that within the Shvii hegemony there is an increasing number of Shvii who support to disbanding of the Hegemony, and allowing other races to live their lives in freedom rather than as workers for Shvii dominance.

Yeah, Isra's a pretty cheery person when there's nothing else on her mind. Shes definitely more inclined to make a joke than get up in your face, though she can do that too should it be called for. After all, you cant make it to far as a smuggler and criminal if you don't have a little bit of a cut throat attitude.

And its alright if you put the kitchen thing in, its a pretty small inconsistency so I'm more than willing to overlook it.
