Synopsis
We had all worked for a much better future. But we never expected this. Our world got damned. Damned to hell. Famine, war, terrorism and plague were all rampant. The 2010s will always be a doomed decade. That decade brought in some critical issues like political correctness, immigration enforcement, climate change and trade warfare. After that, the world became radically different. Governments weren't the same, greater powers fell, identity politics gained notoriety and armed conflicts between countries resurfaced. The sins of that particular decade were so infamous that what it gave birth to was ultimately shunned, although some of us did the opposite, namely acceptance. Now, almost four decades have passed and the world needs to reshape itself to be what it was before everything came crashing down. But that depends on what we are going to do about it.

Welcome to "Anno 2050", a RP that is pretty much like the reboot of a RP by Duestchstein, albeit set years later and having a different timeline. You are in charge of a nation that is doing it's best to reshape the world alongside other nations at this time. The 2010s brought some issues for us all and now those issues has messed up the world years later. The old nations have fallen and the newer ones have surfaced. Your nation is one of these new nations. It is up to you to decide a path for your country, no matter what it takes.

President Andrzej Duda faces an assassination attempt by a pro-European radical group, resulting in his government officially cracking down on left-wing extremism and file for Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty in order to leave the EU. An independence protest ends brutally in Barcelona after riot police opened fire on protesters with live ammunition, unleashing separatist violence across Catalonia. Regarding Poland's EU withdrawal, Austria, Hungary and Italy follow suit, accusing the EU of propagating hatred towards right-wing politics. The UK successfully leaves the EU. Maxime Bernier is elected as Prime Minister of Canada, ending Trudeau's rule and fixing Canadian-American relations.
2020: Trump is re-elected as President of the United States, prompting further political uproar across the country. A terrorist group called the "New Irish Republican Army" (NIRA) began campaigning for Irish annexation of Northern Ireland. 2020 Summer Olympics is held in Tokyo, Japan.
2021: With her popularity decreasing further, Angela Merkel resigns as Federal Chancellor, handing over the CDU/CSU to Albert Krusch, one of the coalition's most fanatical supporters, who turns the coalition into a single party named the Democratic Unification Party (Demokratische Vereinigungspartei), which calls for total nationalization (unification) of the European continent and death to right-wing extremism. His rise to power as Federal Chancellor sees right-wing politics being criminalized and immigration enforcement haulted, causing further anti-government sentiment among Eurosceptics within German politics. He even establishes the Democratic Security Forces (Demokratische Sicherheitskräfte) as his party's armed wing. Japan officially edits Article 9, turning the Japanese Self-Defence Forces into the Japanese Defence Forces (Bōeitai), thus remilitarizing the country. The JGSDF, the JMSDF and the JASDF are replaced by the Japanese Ground Defence Force (Rikujō Bōeitai), the (Kaijō Bōeitai) and the Japanese Air Defence Force (Bōkū Bōeitai), while a new branch called the Japanese Cyber Defence Force (Saibā Bōeitai) is formed to deal with Japan's weak cyber defence. In response to this, the Japanese far-right calls for US troops to leave Japanese soil or face violent acts of terror. At the same time, the far-right radicalizes in South Korea with a number of ROK sympathizers increasing in Japan and taking an extremist stance regarding Korean-Japanese relations. Pro-DPRK sympathy decreases as a result. Among the ideologies of the Korean far-right is "Hyeongje" (형제), which espouses anti-Japanese sentiment, Korean nationalism, Korean reunification, anti-leftism, pro-Western sentiment and Christian fundamentalism. This ideological movement calls for Korea to cut ties with Japan and being more closer to the Western world (including the US). Bundeskanzler Krusch begins to openly support NIRA, seeing it as both pro-European and anti-British. British-German relations deteriorates greatly due to Krusch' hateful stance on the UK. The DV government also began to orchestrate government changes across the EU, putting some member-states (especially France, Belgium, Ireland, Sweden, Finland and Croatia) under authoritarian leaders loyal to Krusch and his pro-European ideology known as "Kruschism".
2022: Japan faces it's very first terrorist attack since 1995, where the National Diet comes under attack by four Zainichi Koreans (all followers of the Hyeongje movement) disguised as police officers, leaving 40 people dead (including the four perpetrators). This causes further anti-Korean sentiment with the Japanese government cracking down on Zainichi Korean activities and banning Korean culture. With further influence from Bundeskanzler Krusch and the recent election of a pro-European government in Ukraine (which later joins the EU that year), the EU radicalizes and starts to make membership withdrawal more difficult by threatening withdrawing member-states with sanctions and later military occupation. The EU openly supports both the NIRA and the Catalan independence movement. Spain faces sanctions by the EU and the Polish government gets intimidated by the BND.
2023: Saudi-Arabia officially withdraws from Yemen and anti-government protests in Iran intensifies. The BND allegedly assassinates Jarosław Kaczyński, the head of the PiS (Law and Justice), prompting both anti-German riots in Poland and arrests of BND agents by a newly-formed secret police called the National Security Service (Służba Bezpieczeństwa Narodowego). Poland officially withdraws from the EU, followed by Austria and Italy. As a result, all three countries are brutally sanctioned by the EU. The US, in response, sanctions the EU and sends aid to Poland, Austria, Italy and Spain. Russia, seeing the European crisis unfold, annexes eastern Ukraine and declares war on Belarus. Meanwhile, NATO officially splits with the US and the UK forming the "British-American Defence Organization". Meanwhile, the far-right MHP (Nationalist Movement Party) is elected to power in Turkey, making the country further oppressive and nationalistic while using the Grey Wolves (Bozkurtlar), the party's alleged terrorist wing, as the country's own Schutzstaffel (SS) to persecute ethnic minorities, LGBT people, disabled people and political dissidents.
2024: The 2024 US Presidential Election gets interrupted by political violence between Democrats and Republicans, prompting martial law to be declared by the US National Guard and the Department of Homeland Security. Meanwhile, following rumors that further withdrawal would repel the possible unification of Europe, the EU officially sends military forces to invade Poland, Austria and Italy, starting the Central European War. Austria, Poland and Italy forms a military alliance named the "Freedom Alliance" (Freiheit Allianz/Sojusz Wolności/Alleanza Libertà/Szabadság Szövetség), which is soon joined by Spain and Hungary, prompting the EU to also invade the two countries. Turkey and Norway joins the EU and sends their armed forces to participate in the Central European War.
2025: The BADO carries out joint military action against the NIRA, prompting Irish military aid to both the NIRA and other Irish nationalist groups in Northern Ireland. With Russia having annexed Belarus and set it's eyes on the Baltic countries, the EU intervenes. Meanwhile, the relations between North Korea and South Korea sours as internal conflict rises within the North Korean government. The EU, meanwhile, carries out airstrikes against northern Italy and western Austria for two months as part of "Operation V", which is carried out by the German Air Force, the French Air Force, the Croatian Air Force and the Slovenian Air Force. The French Army annexes Andorra and invades northern Spain while aided by Catalan rebels. A BND-orchestrated coup d'etat in Prague puts the Czech Republic under a pro-European government who promptly suppresses Czech nationalism and imposes gun control.
2026: The EU occupies both Austria and Hungary, setting up re-education camps for citizens of both countries to humiliate and later submit to EU ideology. Meanwhile, conflict between Iran and Saudi-Arabia arises over Iraq, prompting the EU to side with Iran (due to the nuclear deal) and the US to side with Saudi-Arabia. As the result of Kurds siding with the US and Saudi-Arabia, Turkey sides with the EU and Iran, while the Iraqi government remains forcefully neutral. Meanwhile, President Bashar al-Assad is shockingly assassinated alongside his family by an airstrike against the Presidential Palace. The assassination was blamed on various entities, mainly the US, ISIS and Kurds. Anyway, Syria falls into total anarchy as crisis emerges within the ruling party following the assassination, which prompts both Russia and Iran to jointly send in peacekeeping forces to Syria. South America descends into chaos as the Venezuelan Civil War breaks out and the Amazonas becoming officially deforested.
2027: As the result of the Central European War, economic crisis surfaces in various EU member-states, mainly Greece, Sweden, France and Ireland. Meanwhile, China faces economic debt and South Africa descends into chaos as anti-government sentiment turns further militant. On the other hand, the US is facing further internal chaos as civil war brews. Poland gets eventually occupied by the Bundeswehr with the PiS leadership executed and Polish people sent to re-education camps to both abandon Polish nationalism and pledge allegiance to the EU. Remaining in the Freedom Alliance are Italy and Spain alongside support from the US military.
2028: As a last resort against Taiwanese independence, the PLA invades Taiwan, prompting military intervention by the US and Japan. Some EU member-states, most notably Portugal and the Netherlands, collapses as a result of economic debt, resulting in them being temporarily occupied by EU military forces in order to preserve the EU and keep ensuing chaos at bay while the EU also punishes their governments for economic failure. The NIRA commits a terrorist attack against the UK Parliament, killing 75 people, including the Prime Minister, prompting both martial law in the UK by the British military and further action against Irish nationalists by Ulster loyalists. The Iraqi dispute goes further critical, resulting in Iran officially taking over the Iraqi government and replacing it with a pro-Iranian one under Muqtada al-Sadr, which further militarizes the crisis. Kurdish independence prevails as Syrian Kurdistan and Iraqi Kurdistan secedes to form the Democratic Confederation of Kurdistan (Konfederasyona Demokratîk ya Kurdistanê). In response to this, Iran and Turkey imposes martial law in Turkish Kurdistan and Iranian Kurdistan while the KDK faces a joint invasion by Turkey, Iran, Russia and Iraq. Allegedly, genocide is carried out against the Kurds by the MHP government, which the EU turns an blind eye on. Controversially, the US elects it's first Libertarian President, angering both Democrats and Republicans, who view it as a violation of the country's strict two-party system.
2029: Ultimately, armed conflict breaks out between Saudi-Arabia and Iran. It becomes known as the "Second Gulf War". Both Iran and Saudi-Arabia indiscriminately bomb each others, while the RSSMF fires a missile at Istanbul, cutting off the bridge that connects Turkey to Europe. In response, Turkey helps Iran with military action against Saudi-Arabia, just as Saudi-Arabia gets backup from the US. Russia and Iraq also supports Iran in the Second Gulf War. Meanwhile, France declares bankruptcy and withdraws from the Central European War, prompting Germany and other fanatical EU states to both bomb French cities and invade northern France as punishment for the military withdrawal, which they consider to be disrespectful towards the EU and Albert Krusch himself. In response to the, the USAF bombs the German cities of Munich, Dresden and Frankfurt, which causes further uproar within the US, as some states and organizations found these bombings to be unpopular and anti-humanitarian. The DV government and it's EU allies uses this as an opportunity to create anti-American propaganda and accuse the US of betraying liberalism while encouraging rebellion in the US among left-wing extremists and minority communities. As proven, the EU effectively orchestrates civil disobedience in the US among leftist groups and minority communities, prompting martial law by the US National Guard, the FBI, the DHS and various right-wing militias.
2030: Mexico descends into chaos as the War on Drugs intensifies and the drug cartels gains further power within the country, just as the Mexican town of Chéran, due to it's anti-government stance, gets invaded by the Mexican military on behalf of the country's statist government. Meanwhile, Africa descends into total chaos with governments collapsing and armed groups emerging. Political opposition towards the Krusch government grows more stronger within Germany, resulting in further crackdown on civil liberties by both the DV government and various pro-government groups like Antifa, Grey Wolves and IRGC volunteers. North Korea descends into chaos as Unit 684 overthrows the Kim dynasty and declares martial law.
2031: For the first time in Japanese history, China officially drops a nuclear bomb on Okinawa, decimating the island and taking many lives, prompting the US to launch cruise missiles at the Chinese island of Hainan. Meanwhile, the internal conflict in Burma worsens as the Buddhist community radicalizes under the 969 Movement and the Burmese military invades Bangladesh, accusing it of supporting ethnic rebels. India and Thailand intervenes while ASEAN is facing imminent doom and the Indo-Pakistani relations worsening. The EU is facing further pressure from Russia, the US and the UK, prompting Germany to invade the Kaliningrad Oblast, which causes Russia to invade Ukraine, Poland, Romania, Bulgaria and Slovakia.
2032: Dissolution is nearing in China and USA while the Korean Peninsula descends into chaos with the KPA invading South Korea, starting the Second Korean War. Famine and plague goes rampant in Africa amid armed conflicts. Chéran is razed to the ground by the Mexican military, prompting vigilante action against the Mexican government by both the town's surviving residents and various Mexican self-defence groups. Meanwhile, Canada is facing a similar political uproar as political groups turn against each others. Japan is facing imminent economic debt.
2033: Internal crisis strikes the Communist Party of China (CPC) while the conflict between Democrats, Republicans, Libertarians and other US political parties intensifies. The Russian government faces further opposition and the Iraqi people revolt against the Sadrist governemnt, prompting crackdown by both the Sadrists and the IRGC. Meanwhile, Sweden, Finland, Denmark and Greece officially declares bankruptcy, causing further anger within Germany and other fanatical EU states, who quickly invaded all these countries. With Germany and Russia constantly fighting over Poland, nationalist opposition to both of them rises up among Polish citizens, who quickly form resistance groups like the "Home Guard" (Gwardia Krajowa), the "National Liberation Movement" (Ruch Wyzwolenia Narodowego), the "White Fist" (Biały Pięść) and the CIA-sponsored "Polish Liberation Army" (Polska Armia Wyzwolenia). These movements terrorized both the German authorities and the Russian authorities in occupied Poland for two years.

2035: Civil war breaks out in Germany between the left-wing government and the right-wing opposition. The German Air Force bombs Chemnitz, which had turned into an opposition stronghold filled with right-wing extremists, killing 75% of the city population. More EU states withdraws from the Central European War and military occupations ceases (except Germany and Russia still occupeis Poland), but the invaded countries are badly damaged beyond recognition. Meanwhile, India is facing crisis as overpopulation worsens and separatism becoming more prevalent. Northeastern India faces an unusual political movement lead by a Chinese man named Mohan Wong, who calls for a country that is more stable than India and pledges allegiance to Western culture. The movement gets popular and it gains support from Northeastern Indians. Burmese military withdraws from Bangladesh, but radicalization by Buddhist nationalists continues as the country further descends into chaos. Iran and Saudi-Arabia causes their war to negatively affect the oil market as many oil installations were badly damaged by airstrikes. Meanwhile, the MHP government faces opposition from both Kurds and other parts of Turkish society, prompting civil war to break out.
2036: Unusually, South Korea adopts Unificationism as state religion due to Korean nationalism becoming stronger among Koreans following crisis in North Korea and the failed KPA invasion. The US officially withdraws troops from the whole world as a result of increasing problem within the country. China is further collapsing as a result of ethnic separatism, political strife and economic debt. Martial law is declared on Japan as political violence resurfaces. ISIS finally collapses. UN, AU, WTO and other intergovernmental organizations (except for the EU) dissolves.
2037: California secedes from the US, prompting the federal government to considering invading the former state, but is distracted by the internal strife that is arriving much faster to the country. Texas follow suit with planned seccession from the US. Meanwhile, Mexico collapses, prompting a US migrant crisis that alerts the most xenophobic militias that ever existed on US soil. Immigrants are gunned down by border guards while nationalist protests occurs within Texas. Meanwhile, North Korea ultimately collapses with South Korea deciding what to do about it.

The new country becomes a stable one amid the chaos that is unfolding across the world. The country sets up charity in Bangladesh while a part of Bangladesh votes to join the new country in hope for more protection and prosperity as a result of Burmese mayhem.
