The empire marches south
Image
Thanks to the bastion's attempts to evacuate the tribes in the south, resistance was minimal, if not non existent. The troops of the empire had reached the first line of conquest that was planned by the empire.

Marching order number 2 was issued, the cavalry and harquebusiers would march forward, separating themselves from the infantry, Allowing for a quick and easy conquest of the what remained of the "uncivilized lands" , the infantry itself would be in charge of securing the lands and working along with the Inquisition in order to integrate what little remained of the population. the cannon themselves would be placed along strategic positions in the new border, in order to establish new forts and citadels inside the empire.

The first grenades
Djorni Muchari was a simple man from the coast of the empire, he had a wealthy brother who worked for the military, while he himself operated as a humble fisherman. Djorni had his own way of fishing, dropping a ceramic ball filled with gunpower, and getting to ignite the gunpowder just before it touched the sea, he managed to knock out any fish that he had caught with the long nets that the fishermen of the low sea use.
During one of his family reunions, Djorni showed his brother the method that he used to knock out fishes. He threw a ceramic ball into the sea, it then exploded, suddenly, the fishes in the net stopped moving. "You see what you can do with a simple ceramic and some gunpowder, eh. Ever since those madmen have been going south gunpowder is becoming increasingly expensive, so I might have to simply use other tricks." However, his brother saw it differently. This method could be used by the infantry it, in his mind, close combat troops who would just charge against the enemy, fire close range, then throw these ceramic balls of death, maybe a slow fuze so they may reach their target. After the family reunion was over, Djorni's brother ran back towards the capital, a new kind of troop would be born.

Great Temple of Kona,Central Cadmus

Image

"The gods have forsaken us! They do not answer our prayers, they do not care for our plight! Curse the gods and curse Kona!" A mob had gathered at the fabled Temple of Kona. Cadmus had entered a severe economic downturn, with the price of bread rising astronomically, the people demanded retribution. Their eyes burned with fury, as they held torches and pitchforks ready to pillage the temple dedicated to the Dragon Lord. The Sky Priests gathered outside to temper the flames of passion.

"Please my brethren put down your pitchforks, and torches we have plenty of food to give to the poor and downtrodden, but do not desecrate this temple dedicated to the Dragon Lord! Only ruin shall come from that!". The head Dragon Priest said with pleading eyes as the crowds rushed to him.

"Fuck, your god, we do not want food, we seek the treasures of this place e that have been locked up by this Temple for millennia get out of our way or we will kill you all." The angry leader eyes burning with greed as he rushed towards the Priest with a sword and struck him. The priests were slaughtered as they stood in the way trying to block the entrance from the bloodthirsty and savage mob.

Then it happened. The eyes of the statue glowed with the Wrath of Heaven, and great storm clouds appeared. The statue's eyes, shot a ray of lighting at the leader vaporizing him into dust. The people scattered but the statue who stood over 50 feet tall rose from his throne and fired lighting at the sinners who would dare to turn against the King of Heaven. They begged for mercy, but Kona had none to give he obliterated them all, from dust they came to dust they would return. He then returned to his seat and rested. The few surviving priests headed inside the temple for they knew the End of Days was near.

Skyrealm

Kona stood in Skyrealm, wearing his toga, and golden cuffs. He summoned Terratus and peered at the world."The mortals have sinned against the gods, they shall pay for their sacrilege" He raised his hands, and great storms appeared over the world, only punishing the sinners. Hurricanes in the tropic, and temperate zones blizzards in the polar regions, tornadoes, and sandstorms, the desert regions. Terratus would be wrecked by natural disasters the likes that have never been seen in millennia only when they respected the gods once more would the natural disasters cease.

Angel of Death and Destruction

"Raise Elerra Angel of Death and Destruction!" Kona said as he stood over his new trainee.I grant you the power of Heaven! He shot arcs of divine lighting at Elerra, turning her into twelve foot tall, Angelic Warrior, with wings the color of night, and wielding black armor. Her eyes burned with divine fury. "I grant you the Blade of Heaven!". And a powerful divine sword fell into the scene, she took it and grinned breathing in the power."What is thy bidding Father" She said with a bowing.

"Head to Terratus to give my divine wrath, destroy all sinners".With that Elerra headed with 10,000 Angels to a city of Chambalha. They would dare to curse the gods, to turn their backs against those who created them. Elerra raised the Blade of Heaven and shot an epic blast of lighting at the city which shook the entire world...

The Coming Storm
The Eternal Bastion had seen the economic downturn of Cadmus, and the rapidly destabilizing climate on Terratus. After thirty days and thirty nights of testing, the Intellectual elite put together plans for the Shield Lines, lines of material mined from the Bastion itself that would serve as power lines, ending in nodes that created Divine Shields. Not as big as the Central one, but big enough to shield most cities. With utmost urgency, New, powerful construction vehicles started laying lines to the affected cities. Though it would take a long while for the Lines to reach.

The End of an Era

Elerra's body outright refused the full blessing of Kona, simply taking forth the power of the storm. With this, she faded from Skyrealm. Then, the End Times began. At the front of the Eternal Bastion, stepped out Asmodeus. In his hands were two artifacts. A blade from his father, designed to siphon the power of gods, whilst his shield, to withstand it. Elerra appeared not soon after, though not quite as small anymore. The power of the storms was all that was required.

Asmodeus slowly moved forth to the Bastion's edge, where he knew the Divine Shield was. As he walked, the earth scorched around him, a sign of radiating heat. "Titan. Lord of Fortresses. Bring yourself forth and kneel to me, or I shall raze your fortress to the ground. I shall rip open a tear in this pitiful world's rended heart for the horde of Nurgle to flood forth. The Age of Gods is over, and I shall be the one to bring about the end of you failed creations." He said in a booming voice. "I shall scour this world of the gods, and then I shall find another world to annihilate of your filthy, divine taint."

Kona was furious, of course, he would be betrayed like this. Elerra was a pawn, he raised his hands, and from Skyrealm, the power that he had gifted was returned to him for he had given it on the basis that she would serve him and him alone. He would not be apart of this pathetic scheme.

The Divine Shield sliced up, the murky white surface becoming completely opaque as the Bastion pumped every last spark of it's power into making the Shield more powerful than it had ever been before...

Before Asmodeus was hit from behind by something massive and with the force to level mountains. Titan materialized, all four wings spread out, lines of gold rippling across their black feathers. "And what, may I ask, warrants your ultimatum? I am a Solitary God, only appearing in the most very dire of consequences. The Eternal Bastion is independent of Divine Influence, no god has touched it in millennia. It's inhabitants grow independent, wielding wonders of technology instead of magics blessed by gods." Titan said.

Deep within the Bastion, scientists scurried around in a lab, scrambling to gather notes and setting machines to work. Soon, mechanical arms with a myriad of tools at their ends began assembling some sort of device around The Core, a charred, spherical rock several hundred feet in diameter. Whatever purpose this would serve, is yet to be determined.

The people of Chambalha were weary of war. Weary first of this pointless, bloody conflict with the Djinn. Weary of the gods intervening, killing many more. And now, weary of what seemed like the death of the world. King Uillas, who had survived wave after wave of brutal battle, succumbed to the wrath of Kona. If the people of Chambalha every questioned the gods intentions, they no longer did so now. They truly believed the continued preaching of their constantly reincarnating leader. The gods were evil, petulant children. But what was to be done? Leaderless, and afraid, they mobilised the nation - a nation which, afterall, was once comprised of semi-nomadic horselords. They moved northward, to the Bastion, for protection, loathsome though they found this creation of the gods.

The people of Cadmus, begged for mercy from Kona, they stopped their desecration of the temples and once more respected the holy rites, and divinity of the gods. As such Kona lifted the storms, and blessed Cadmus once more, the disasters that had befallen that land had ended, and they where once more on the pathway to righteousness.

A vast convoy of Bastion transports was sighted moving towards the chambalhans, entire Armies' worth of transports, logistical hulls, walkers, hovercraft, and even mysterious flying machines that hung from rotating blades. One of the Command walker's started blasting it's speakers:

"COME ON, WE DON'T HAVE ALL DAY. WE HAVE THREE HOURS UNTIL STARDRIVE GOES ONLINE AND AT THAT POINT WE'LL BE DESERTED. TRANSPORTS ARE STANDING BY WITH SUPPLIES AND AID. MOVE MOVE MOVE!" The flying machines set down, lowering ramps. Transports opened their doors, Walkers opened. Every vehicle that had room for people opened it's doors to the wrathful weather.

Resentfully, the Chambalhans borded the strange vessels that they saw before them. They did not want to be reduced to beggars. They were a proud folk, but their hand was forced, by the wrath of the gods.

"All gods are filth." Asmodeus replied simply. "The Bastion is made by you. And as such, it is a stain on the land. Now kneel, or I shall show you the power of fire." With this, Asmodeus implanted his sword into the ground, molten cracks appearing around it.

As soon as the last person was onboard, the whole convoy turned tail and gunned off. Hovercrafts blasted ahead, the flying machines plowed steadfastly through the turbulent winds, the Transports rumbled across the terrain, and Walkers trundled on their legs.

After about an hour of the convoy moving along at breakneck pace, hatches opened in the ground that led to ramps. A voice came on over the vehicles inner comms: "Alright, we're headed into the Lower Levels of the Bastion. You need to immediately vacate the vehicles, make it to the designated shelters, they'll have the name of your people on them, and make yourselves comfy. But as soon as you hear a horn sound four times, brace yourselves, that is the Stardrive activating. Do you understand?"

Titan reached up with his wings, almost preparing to flap. "Only if you tell me your master, so I can, as the mortals say, speak to your manager."

The leaders of Chambalha nodded sullenly at the commands that were issued to them as they entered the bastion. The idea of space travel was beyond the comprehension of the survivors of this primitive society, but they knew, whatever happened, the bastion would provide them some measure of safety.

It...
It was finally time...

Gensokyo slowly moved along its orbital path, but this time, this time was different. If you were to predict where it was going, it was going to cover the entirety of Skyrealm. All the while Yuukame sat on a gap and saw that it was good, and closed her parasol. "Well," she began, some odd melancholy in her voice as she sighed, "So long, and thanks for all the fish.". With a snap of her finger, Ellen the Human was brought back in her first form, and a boundary was formed between life and death at that moment, as to allow the now mortal Nuel to survive the vacuum of space. Any moment now and Skyrealm would be completely covered.

"So, Ellen," she began talking to said person, who was bounded by invisible chains as of the moment, "I guess this is it, now or never I guess.". She looked to Terratus, it looked so beautiful today, the night side dotted with little lights from towns and cities, and the day side showing that glorious green and blue with a splash of white. She then clapped her fingers nine times, summoning all her children by gap. "Kids, this is a good time to be quiet." she explained in advance to the currently bewildered congregation, "Mom's got a job to do okay?".

Unanimous "Okay"s were all the confirmation she needed to begin the process.

She first formed a blood red bident on her left and right hands, "This may hurt a bit," she told Ellen, "But you'll live.". With a jolt, she plunged both into Ellen's chest, with the intent to surround the heart with the points of the red prongs. Precision made it so that there would be little bleeding and fracturing.

Asmodeus simply twisted the sword. "I am my own master. I am the Godsbane. The Scourge that shall cleanse you forth from this world." Elerra took her hand, using the power of Yuukame's domain of Boundaries to tear a hole in the Divine Shield and hold it there, not yet doing anything more. "Now kneel. Your final chance." He said, holding his shield up. As Elerra pierced the boundary, so two did she pour forth her power into a tear in reality to Nurgle's Garden, near the front of the Bastion.

Asmodeus once more twisted the blade, sending a jet of primordial flame towards Titan's face as this occured, mainly to put him off balance. The heat itself was like a fuel-air bomb, aiming to draw the air from his lungs and scorch his wings.

Nurgle noticed this immediately and made sure to start pouring Plague-Bearers, Great Unclean Ones, and Nurgle's Legion through this tear. In literal waves they came, millions of flies forming a constant layer of ash on the shield, battering it with their tiny bodies. Great Unclean Ones used their magic to try and keep this tear in the shield going, and eventually Nurgle grew the tear large enough to let through a Pestilential One, a living vessel that shot pestilential energy at defenses inside the Bastion. Nurgle's Legion advanced with Verfaulen, crafted by the God of War himself they slay whoever got in their way, and we already inside the Bastion. Nurgle decided it was time to let forth his Nurgle's Rot, a disease that killed all beings it came in contact with except those already touched by its foulness. He also let forth Angel's Halo, a disease which targeted Kona's Angels specifically, it took advantage of their holy nature by using a single strand of the hair of Sigmar to imbue it with Holy Light, thinking it was safe it would enter their bodies and eat them from the inside out, not only that but the Holy Light inside of it would corrupt itself, and eventually lead to their true death with no chance of re-incarnation. Of course, that was how it was supposed to work, there had been no tests yet, and Nurgle was curious as to how it would perform. WIth this, he sent his fleet of Pestilential Ones and Boil Breeders to Terratus, yet they would not reach it till at least the battle's climax.

APOCOLYPSE,GENYOSKO CRISIS

Image

And the floating cities of Cadmus came crashing down into oblivion, mushroom clouds covered the entire realm. As Skyrealm was eclipsed by Genyosko, the sky magic that flowed from the realm to the mortal plane was blocked. All flying vehicles fell from the skies. Ash and dust blocked the sun, as fires raged across the lands.Terratus was destroyed, shockwaves reverberated across the entire planet. In just a few hours one of the greatest civilizations ever conceived was brought t its knees. Millions had perished, and the Cadmians were reduced to the stone age, centuries of magical and scientific progress obliterated.

A new Dark Age reigned on Terratus...

Titan blasted away at the Pestilential army, kneeling even as he did so. "I kneel, leave the Bastion in peace and eliminate the invaders, and I shall submit." He said, clearly melancholy from his posture. He let his daggers drop with almighty clangs as his wings drooped to the ground around him. "Do what you must."

The Ash cloud billowed across the Bastion, the shield flickering but holding thanks to it's internalized magic source. However, technology began failing. Guns jammed, blackouts rolled across the city as generators faltered. Powered armor fell silent, becoming unwieldy as it's mechanisms siezed. Elevators jammed and trains slid to halts. It was a new dark age, one that would lead to mass suffering. Thankfully, the Bastion's position as a hub would help alleviate the suffering if only slightly...but, it's whole future came crumbling down as forges were reignited, a medieval age. Thankfully, they understood the workings of gunpowder still, so they could maintain cannons and rifles, but anything beyond would cease to function.

44 years. That was how long ago the comet Palit had soared through the skies of the mortal worlds. It did not leave only a trail behind it, but creatures of a most foul sort. The fantoma, magical beings that bring despair and desire, descended upon the mortal realms. These were the creations of Jalejind, the Sullen God. Mortal souls were taken, by trade or force, to wastes of Palit, where they decayed into morose, yearning spirits. These desperate creatures longed to return to their homes, to have some small semblance of their old life. For countless years, they were bound to Palit by Jalejind's will, another torment in an already torturous existence. But 44 years ago, when Palit circled the sun last, Jalejind severed their bindings, and set them loose on the cosmos. Then, thousands of fantoma descended on the mortal realms, a magical scourge unlike any other. And for 44 years, they sowed chaos in the lands they visisted. They fed upon despair and sorrow, greed and lust, and as they fed they grew in power, and as they grew, they caused more sorrow, more desire, and then fed anew. A vicious cycle to be sure.

All the while, Jalejind watched with a quiet glee. From the sole feature on Palit, his decrepit and worn manor Nicuinde, Jalejind has enjoyed the view as his creations seed sorrow in all corners of the mortal lands. And now, with the crisis on Terratus, the fantoma grow ever more powerful, and Jalejind ever more interested. When last Palit circled the sun, Jalejind was content to merely watch his creations act. This time, Jalejind would not be so idle.

Asmodeus suddenly turned his baleful wrath upon Nurgle's armies. He pointed his blade forth at the army of disease, before the ground would erupt upward with lava, bringing only a quarter of the might of the Fire Goddess to bear. Yet there was more...from this came inscrutable, full-borne madness. Visions of the future, of failure, or the past flooded the mind all at once, as Asmodeus moved forth to meet Nurgle's chosen on the field, Elerra moving to seal the boundary to the Garden of Nurgle.

"Chosen of Nurgle. You shall also kneel."

The Great Unclean Ones bid their children stop, and Verfaulen floated ominously over the battlefield. He began to wave his hands, and chanted ancient words. A great ball of energy rested in his hand, and he spoke "Why should Nurgle's Champions kneel to you?"
