They way I had it explained to me by OP, is that your domains are the aspects of the world each and every god has control over, while their personal Realms are were they are their strongest, and due to this are able to shape it to their will and are unkillable while inside it.

While yes, the Lord of the Sands controls mountains and the like, Since Wintergrad is Lopast personal Realm and home, he has final authority over it.

Now, granted, I had no idea you dealt with deserts and Mountains when I chose to stick him an a mountain, but hey, shit lines up i guess.
