Well for one, it kinda did need those farms to survive Savarian's tantrum, they just grew along with it to sustain the population.
However, there was also a substantial food import prior to the collapse, as one would believe.

Eh, I had mostly intended to keep Lenu aside as my IC deus ex machina for when shit hits the fan, since he has power over all the other gods. I was planning to bring in a different god to RP, but haven't gotten around to writing an introductory post.
