My Hero Academia
Next Generation

IC Thread
Introduction

This takes place around 30-35 years after the retirement of All Might. As expected, the Pro Hero known as "Deku" has succeeded him as the "Symbol of Peace", holding the Number One Hero spot as well. Of course, this doesn't mean the entire world is at peace. When old villains are taken down, they are simply replaced by new villains, the same can be said for heroes as well, it's a nigh-eternal cycle.

There's two days until the UA High School entrance exam begins, so the next generation of heroes better be ready for what's to come![/box[box]
Rules

  • Godmodding, Meta-gaming, all that fluff isn't allowed.
  • Keep it PG-13. NSFW Roleplay is not allowed on NationStates, not even in telegrams.
  • Try to keep flame wars to an absolute minimum, to which I mean don't start them at all, please.
  • Creativity is welcome and appreciated, I expect the majority of the Quirks seen in this roleplay to be custom anyways (ask for permission to use hybrid quirks e.g half hot half cold).
  • If you want a Quirk seen in the source material though, it'd make most sense that your character is descended from it's original user, so ask permission! (Note: Nobody is allowed to use One for All or All for One.)
  • Even animals can have Quirks, though that's an incredibly rare phenomenon. So yes, you CAN roleplay as an intelligent animal with a Quirk.
  • Minimum 3 lines for roleplay posts, please!
  • Keep OOC to OOC Thread, IC to IC thread.
  • Have fun! I'm not joking, fun is MANDATORY.

Tag. Though I'm not terribly creative, so some of the quirks I have in mind are similar to those already in the series. The first one I have is Devil's Whisper, which allows a person to manipulate a person through speech (though this is similar to Shinso's quirk). I also have in mind an Illusion quirk, where a person can create illusions through eye contact (like the Sharingan Genjutsu from Naruto). Finally, I'm thinking about a lightning generation quirk that is more powerful than Kaminari's Electrification and has a lot more abilities. I imagine it to be something like the electrically enhanced condition. Which gives you enhanced reflexes, super speed and super strength. Or maybe a power like Gambit's, which allows you to kinetically "charge" an object to explode it or dissolve it by making them melt.

MHA NEXT GEN APPLICATION

Name: Emi Takizumi
Age: 15
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Bisexual
Blood Type: O positive
Appearance: https://i.pinimg.com/originals/f5/57/bd ... fbd36c.png
5’7, brown hair, blue eyes, 143 lbs

Bio: The older of the Takizumi twins (born approximately 29 seconds before her brother, Hirohiko), Emi was also quite unique in appearance, compared to the rest of her family. She has bright blue eyes, while the rest of her family has brown. While she was the first to be born, her quirk manifested after her brothers, with Hirohikos manifesting at age 4, and hers emerging at age 5. The disparity in the twin siblings quirks was quite noticeable, as they were complete opposites. Emi could form objects from her wave energy, shape everything from a tiny snowflake to an intricate crystalline structure. However, Hirohiko could only direct his Wave energy to create destructive force. The twins inherited the combined aspects of their quirk from their father, a pro hero named Purple Light (who’s quirk is to produce beams of purple light hot enough to cut steel), and their mother, a pro hero named .

Occupation: UA student

Quirk Name: Wave energy-Creation

Quirk Description: Creation type Wave energy is a purple form of light energy which can be used to form solid objects. Emu uses her ability to form temporary weapons, such as swords, guns, shields, etc. which fade off after about 1-2 minutes of use. She creates this energy by sacrificing her own thermal energy to convert it into light, which can be manifested in its Wave form. Projectile weapons take more thermal energy as more has to be sacrificed to produce ammunition for the weapon. If she expends too much energy, her body temperature will drop drastically, a symptom that can be fatal if her temp drops too much. In the event of extreme body temperature drops, she must stop creating wave energy and do something physical to raise her body temperature, or consume a hot food or drink of some sort.

MHA NEXT GEN APPLICATION

Name: Hirohiko Takizumi
Age: 15
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Homosexual
Blood Type: AB positive
Appearance: https://s7.favim.com/orig/150827/brown- ... 189804.jpg
5’9, brown hair, brown eyes, 147 lbs

Bio: The younger of the Takizumi Twins, Hirohiko was always the more extroverted of the two. Fun loving and rambunctious, but a good kid with a good heart. When his quirk first manifested, he attempted to hide it, as while he is rambunctious, he also dislikes violence and destruction.when his sister applied for the U.A. Hero course, Hirohiko reluctantly followed in order to protect his sister, and make sure she didn’t get herself hurt doing something dangerous while heroing. During their first year at U.A., the two siblings earned their nicknames (later to become hero names) Purple Wave and Violet Rose (Hirohiko was actually Violet Rose), as well as the name they are commonly referred to as, the Takizumi Twins.

Occupation: UA student (2nd year)

Quirk Name: Wave energy-Destruction

Quirk Description: Destruction type wave energy is the exact opposite of creation type. Destruction type releases pulses of pure light energy, produced through the same therm-light conversion method. Hirohiko can charge his hands with the Wave energy and use it to enhance his punches, or send out projectiles of the energy that cause a moderate amount of damage, being able to make a dent in 5 inch thick steel. Destruction type Wave also bears the same repercussions of use as creation type.

These are still W.I.P. but I wanted to present my idea for the quirk(s).

I like the first two, can't wait to see what the third one looks like! I was originally going to say "Wouldn't they be 16 if they were in their second year?" BUT for all we know their birthday is yet to come.

To be honest, I don't mind if you have a quirk that's incredibly similar to one in the series but not the same, since if I remember correctly it is possible to have two people with Quirks that grant them similar abilities but aren't the same.

E.g: Kota Izumi's Quirk Water Creation is similar to Backdraft's Hydrokinesis, both of them let the user create water.

MHA NEXT GEN APPLICATION

Name: Aoi Tachibana
Age: 15
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Bisexual
Blood Type: Orange AB-
Appearance: (Description and/or image. If using an image, just put the link, DON'T PUT IT BETWEEN IMAGE TAGS!!!)
Speed form pictured. Not my artwork.
Bio:
Aoi Tachibana didn't have what you'd call an easy start.

Her own Quirk, or, rather, the virus it manifested as within her, left her weak and barely able to move as it changed her from a normal looking girl into something almost totally alien, with only her face, hands, and feet as reminders that she was still human by age 4. While glad of the absence of the tantrums the terrible twos were usually marked by, her parents were concerned by the demands of her transformation, and trips to the doctors were frequent until her energy returned after the crystal in her chest finished forming and her "'imaginary' friend", a dull, lifeless-looking copy of herself, began manifesting when she was lonely and wanted a playmate, something her parents tried to train her out of because she'd quickly grow confused and sleepy whenever said "friend" appeared.

As far as figuring out what her Quirk really did, however, that part wouldn't come until she was eight and found herself sitting on the sidelines at recess after breaking her tibia climbing a tree. As she sat on a bench, wishing her leg would heal faster, a teacher noticed that she seemed to be growing, the red-orange "armor" of her body expanding to cover her entirely, and her arms widening out to resemble thick red-orange wide egg noodles, with her entire body bulking up (enough that her "armor" was the only thing protecting her modesty). The transformation took nearly two minutes, during which Aoi, to her surprise and terror, couldn't move at all as her cast and school uniform fell apart around her. Had she not been panicking, Aoi would have been struck by how... oddly painless the transformation was. There were sensations that *should* have been painful, but *weren't*.

And, once it was done, her leg fell off and crumbled to dust at the break, and, four minutes later, one would have been hard-put to tell it had even been injured. In fact, the paramedics in the ambulance *couldn't* tell, and her sluggish movements went back to an unnatural stillness at the hospital when, in tears and tired of the slowness that came with her new form, all Aoi could think about was going back to normal (not that the fat jokes an insensitive nurse had made when the stretcher failed under her weight had helped. It had taken six people to lift her into the ambulance.), and, two minutes later, a very confused doctor saw Aoi sitting on the examination table in her normal form. This incident would lead Aoi to experiment with her Quirk over the next few years, discovering what its forms, of which she found four, could do.

And coming to the realization that, if she could master her Quirk, she had the makings of a great Hero.

Her sights set on that goal, there was really only one school she would want to go to: UA. And so she set about studying and training for that goal.

Occupation: UA Student

Quirk Name: Virus Armor

Quirk Description:
Transformation type with aspects of Emitter type. Allows Aoi to switch between four forms, each with its own advantages and disadvantages. Transforming takes time and requires her to be still, and takes longer each time until she's had at least 8 hours of sleep.

Normal form: Aoi's weakest form for combat, but best for support. In this form, Aoi is no stronger, faster, or tougher than a normal human, but she heals twice as fast and can make dull, lifeless-looking copies of herself which, while not very durable, have all her other attributes except the ability to transform or make copies. She can currently make up to three, and doing so is mentally and physically draining, the effects getting worse the longer she maintains them. She is able to communicate telepathically with these clones.

Defense form: Aoi's slowest form, but best for recovery and taking hits. In this form, Aoi is no stronger than a human, but is much slower and much, MUCH tougher, and can regenerate lost limbs in 5 minutes, her body within 10 minutes, and up to half her core (the jewel in her chest, which is her brain) in 15. So much of her energy is needed for regeneration in this form that she cannot use telekinesis, as her body is barely able to keep up with the demands of regeneration, and is exceedingly slow for similar reason. In this form, Aoi is very heavy and sinks like a stone in water.

Speed form: Aoi's most fragile form, but best for escape and evasion. In this form, Aoi is weaker and much less durable than a human, and resists her own speed solely by means of an involuntary reflex which shields her from the strain and wind resistance. She has a limited ability to read minds in this form, though it'd be more accurate to say she gets an impression of what her opponent is planning to do, and, even thing, it picks up surface thoughts only: It's easily fooled by those who know she's doing it. Her speed gives her an edge in avoiding enemy attacks, but she is fragile in this form, able to be taken out of a fight as easily as tripping over something, and her telekinesis lacks any real power.

Attack form: Not especially mobile or tough, but best for doing damage. In this form, Aoi is slightly slower than a normal human, and is only slightly stronger and tougher, but is a psychic powerhouse, able to fire beams from her core, manipulate her environment through telekinesis, and even lash out with pure telekinetic energy. Using telekinesis in this form, however, is especially draining, and she's not very good up close with it, preferring to keep opponents at a distance. Prolonged battles are dangerous for Aoi in this form without having some way to rest periodically. Her attacks also suffer diminishing returns when used without taking a minute or so to rest.

Probably be very difficult to try to explain, but could their be a UA student who got accepted who didn't have a quirk? Was thinking that they would be an exception to the rule due to skill and having some type of exoskeleton that could make him keep up with the other super powered students?

They'd probably need to be an incredibly wealthy genius prodigy child for that to happen. To be honest that question actually makes me wonder to if a Quirkless person could study within the Support Department of UA.

I think a Quirk might be a requirement for the entrance exam, who knows.

I think a Quirk might be a requirement for the entrance exam, who knows.

I was going with the idea that he was a prodigy hero that was Quirkless and could try out since the equipment could make an exception. If not, he could get through via a recommendation to study within the Support Department, working on equipment but truly wishing to be out in the field.

If not, then I can go vigilante/pro hero.

I think the recommendation to go into the Support Department would work better, then the Sports Festival gives him an opportunity to join in the Hero Course

I'm not good with split personalities. I'm thinking a sleepy sherlock holmes, we've already got a few heavy hitters.

Perhaps going for more of a "super detective weeabo noir" rather than an explicit Marvel/DC superflex mcspandex.

I always try to the the surprisingly overpowered wimp due to skill/shenanigans, rather than trying to dick measure my power levels. You mind if my dude is somewhat versed in his power level, and that his Quirk isn't just a one time active skill but rather a passive skill gradually becoming more active?

What would the Quirk even be? A quirk which gives it's user the mental attributes of Sherlock?

Well, it worked for Gear.

It's loosely described as a trancelike state (hence his nickname "Trance"). He can ignore pain, go even more ludicrously fast/strong, and recall/analyze things he's seen/is currently seeing. But he's not invinsible, his gimmick is he can ignore pain and recover from injuries, but he can be killed very hard. One destructo-wave or a creato-wave inside his skull, and he's toast.
