Is it possible to work for the Corps later on in the future btw? Just being curious.

Also, suggestions on cybernetics availabe would be appreciated. Can't think of anything decent without it being too OP lol. Probably some bootleg/cheap stuff, but still effective.

A neural-connection to his car? Essentially an extension of himself?

Hmmmmm. That's some Star Trek shit shit right there, maybe. Although I figure he'd be going through plenty of cars, and not every one would have a way to connect. Unless it's as easy as blue tooth or just a USB port or something.

Maybe something to increase his reflexes or that could cause him to perceive time slower for a short bit?

That's the goal in the end. Unless you die, or get marked for death by the cops or something.

Well, limb prosthetics are always a tried and true method. Same with eyes, artificial organs that can extract nutrients better, autoinjectors that pump you full of epinephrine or PCP on command, etc.

Really, the smoggy sky is currently the limit.

NAME: Lycan Napoli
SEX: Male
AGE: 20
APPEARANCE: Lycan is a monster in human form, both mentally and physically. Standing at 6'6" and being built like a tank, Lycan has cultivated his physical shape to strike fear into anyone who draws their eyes across him. Tatoos decorate his chest, along with the various glowing tubes that accompany his blood cybernetics. His face is marked by two long scars that go over his eyes like a pair of silvery war paint stripes. His eyes are pitch black, more as a result of his cybernetics than his birth.

CYBERNETICS:

- Spectre X-Prototype Eye Enhancement
Spectre is not particularly known for it's ethical buisness practices, the X Enhancement is a prototype implant that will eventually begin development as a high grade professional implant, that is being tested on "expendable candidates". It grants it's users access to a personal GUI interface as well night vision for use in various dark enviroments.

- Tepes Personal IV Veins
A quick use drug administration system that allows instant injection of a variety on substances into the blood stream via a port in the forearm. These enable the user to rapidly change their physical and mental state by allowing nearly instant injection of steroids, adrenal, and various drugs into the bodily system. Similar systems are often used by military to enhance their soldiers rapidly, injecting them with dangerous chemical compounds to create super soldiers.

- Lytra Impala Leg Enhancements
Impala leg implants enable their user to run faster, jump higher, and fall further. With built in Shock absorbers, spring loaded for maximum thrust per step, and even miniature servo motors to enable maximum potential from one joints, they are every street urchin's low grade leg upgrade dream.

SPECIALITY: Hitman
INVENTORY:
-FN Five-Seven
- Handeled Mantis Blade, Type 14
-3x10 round mags of 5.7x28
-Emergency cannisters of various enhancement and stimulant drugs

PERSONALITY: Cold. Uncaring. Monstrous. Sadistic. The various things said about Lycan would make any psychologist faint from both the excitement of having such a head case on their hands, and the horror of the perfect storm of both mental conditions and a personality so twisted one could barely call it human. Lycan relishes in pain, both his own and that which he causes to others. He takes pleasure in his job, a good quality for any hitman, and would probably be a murderer of the weak and poor in Sac-Town's slums. While he does feel a form of love for a very select set of individual, it is more of an urge for companionship than it is an actual attachment. In short, Lycan is a pinnacle of the social and mental breakdown of the youth minds in the slums, the ultimate creation of poverty and crime mixed together, a being who knows no loyalty or ethics, existing only to satisfy itself.

BIOGRAPHY: Lycan was born in Sac-Town, to an unknown mother and Marco Palermo. Marco was a drunk addict and prone to violent flashes of pure anger. Lycan's mother must have been even worse, because the only truth that ever seemed to come from Marco's mouth was the fact that he had been violently abused during their relationship. Marco eventually stole Lycan away during the night when he was two, gave the child to his brother, and went back to confront his girlfriend. He was never seen again.

Lycan's uncle was not a kind man. He was not a considerate man. Whether or not he was really even human is up to debate. Lycan was abused almost daily, at one point being locked in a closet for more than a week with barely any food. Lycan grew cold, and his hatred for his family and all things related to them grew by the day, until one day, when Lycan was 13, he took a kitchen knife, and gutted his uncle, aunt and cousins, and left them for scavengers and dogs in their own home. He then proceeded to steal and murder his way across the slums for the next 6 years, before finally making someway into the hitman game, so that he could adopt it as his full time job. He tortured those he didn't like, stalked those he did, and made waves in the tiny scale crime scene in his local blocks. Now he is looking to become a fulltime hitman.

Drunk AF here but lessee:

Cybernetic-based direct linkage to your vehicle, think "Red Line" the anime on bath-salts. You and the machine are one, that said you feel every bullet hole in her chassis so keeping her sweet on her (rubber) feet is in your best interest. A street racer with debts to pay could be your angle into our motley crew of fuckups lovely degenerates colleagues in an effort to pay off a pink slip that would mean the loss of your wheels.

22

APPEARANCE:
7'1" tall individual that often wears a hoodie or other long clothes. Mechanical Green Right eye. Blue Left Eye. Often wears a simple re-breather.

CYBERNETICS:
RUST Inc. Synthetic Lungs- once modest and robust organs that was designed to filter the harmful gases of Sac-Town.

XN-28 Bloodstream Nanobots- A cheap medical tool that was once reserved for the Elderly of the now extinct middle classes. Only possesses basic functions like resuscitation, filtering, and blood clotting. Can be potentially upgraded.

H4X3R "Corpus" Mechanical Eye- Black Market replacement of an eyeball for purely normal vision. Has been known to become heavily modified by those with the necessary funds. (i.e. Camera Lens)

SPECIALITY:
Sabotage, Infiltration, Demolition, Armed Robbery

INVENTORY:
Incendiary Explosives, Tool Box, 7-Round Revolver, and a Data pad.

PERSONALITY:
Withdrawn with a sense of dark humor. Often made out to be a methodical and cold individual in his pursuit of wealth.

BIOGRAPHY:
Voultarr grew up like any other poor urchin until he was old enough to work alongside his father in a workshop. However due to the horrid conditions both of them would end up contracting poisoned fumes. While his father died, a nearby cult member offered salvation to him since he was young and strong enough. Soon after the injection and the surgery it took no time for him to adjust and engage in his new life of shady deals on the cult's behalf. After a few good years and even a full bank robbery Voultarr realized that all of his other family had been murdered by the cult members and so he killed and sabotaged them in turn. With no survivors to retaliate back.

Since the death of all he had known and the wasteful, honest life that was driven away led Voultarr to take up contracts with the local broker. Eventually he ran into Victor the "Voicebox" and the two became rivals over a demolition contract while under gang fire. Voultarr lost an eye that and had to get it replaced which set him back in his funds and his plan to get out of the slums, but perhaps he made a cold friend or ally in Victor that day. With his new eye in place Voultarr had to scrounge up pieces from looted enemies to create his infamous rebreather until it finally resembled a full gas mask. The gangs henceforth nicknamed him the "Iron Wolf" for his offensive tactics and looting of enemy assets.

(Younger version of this)

NAME: Leland O'Callaghan
SEX: Male
AGE: 25
APPEARANCE: Standing at 6'3 and weighing 190 lbs (including cybernetics), Leland appears just like your average day-to-day guy. He can be distinguished from other people by his tattoos (most notably tattoos that showcase hate symbols including two SS bolts on the back of his neck and a totenkopf on his chest, as well as tattoos that refer to his old gang affiliation) and his signature pompadour hairstyle. His eye implants that glow a dim orange can also be a dead giveaway.
CYBERNETICS:
  • HPT Type D Neural Implant - A neural implant that connects numerous other cybernetics to it, if they're required to be connected. May also serve as a futuristic cellular phone that provides basic communication with available contacts and quick access to the internet.
  • HPT Ocular Implants Mk. I - Eye implants designed specifically for combat, complete with its own GUI. Provides zooming (2x) and when connected through a neural implant, capable of tracking user's weapon ammunition as well as indicating its ammo capacity, durability, and available fire-modes.
  • Atlas Electronics Hand Prosthetics, Combat Edition - Both of Leland's hands have been replaced with metal prosthetics that when neurally-connected, also coupled with the fact that they're literally made of metal, can give the user an edge in hand-to-hand combat by enhancing the user's combat prowess.
  • Artificial Liver - The result of an old drinking habit, Leland nowadays has to rely on a cheap, artificial liver that requires heavy maintenance lest the man will have to be placed back on a hospital bed.
SPECIALITY: Freelance/Mercenary
INVENTORY:
PERSONALITY: Leland is a suave guy, the smoothtalker and silver-tongued dude in your block. His natural charm and social skills are the major driving factors of his success in the criminal underworld, though people wouldn't deny his combat artistry as well, mainly his pistol proficiency. Though he was a part of a racist, white supremacist gang, Leland was in fact more welcoming and open-minded than his old compatriots, the gang being only a means of survival for him. Nevertheless, old habits rarely die, and if you manage to offend the man enough and happen to be a non-white, you can always expect a few racial slurs being thrown here and there. Or maybe a bullet to the leg, if you're too much of a nuisance. He'll only kill when it's deemed necessary, but don't take that as a sign of weakness. Cruelty and torture are two things he's very familiar with.
BIOGRAPHY:
Living in the slums of a city was never anyone's wish, but it was the bitter reality of the many unlucky people who had to spend most, if not all, of their childhood scraping and struggling for food in probably one of the most dangerous neighborhoods within their hometown. Leland happened to be one of those people. His parents were respected amongst a gang of white supremacists in their block; his father being an astounding member of said gang, while his mother had the privilige of being the wife of a respected member. But alas, the couple couldn't enjoy their position for long. A drive-by that occured when Leland was only ten years old took the life of Leland's father, and only a few days after, his mother committed suicide.

Out of respect for his father's contribution and dedication to the gang, they took what legacy he left with him; his son. The members strictly schooled the young boy, saying that membership must be earned just like everybody else did before him, his father included. It was the best option he'd ever gotten, and something he had to accept in an effort to survive the cruel reality around him. These skinheads referred to themselves as the "Aryan Brigade", a dangerous white supremacist gang that had continuously plagued the block that Leland lived in. Drug and human trafficking were their main deals, distributing various chems, narcotics, and pimping out young girls for the block dwellers.

Leland was the more tolerable and welcoming sort within the gang, and though he had his differences with the gang's way of thinking, he was still very much loyal and dedicated to the circle. The gang's downfall came when a police injunction came to their block, effectively shutting down the major gangs within it, including the Aryan Brigade. Most of the gang's upper echelons ended up dead, locked up, or missing in action. The rest of the members were all on the run, including Leland, who managed to hide and make a living in the next block, giving his services to anyone willing to accomplish something without having to get their own hands in the dirt.

Well what do you want your character to focus on? We have our get-away driver in the works if Tayner goes w/ that, we have our resident creeper (your's truly), I don't think we have anyone that could really qualify as our hired muscle/enforcer, the 'big guy' on any crew worth it's salt. Any news on what sort of narcotics are present, their price ranges, and common users?

Would an information gatherer, low level of course who recently experienced rapid unemployment, be acceptable?

What sort of cybernetics are acceptable for the lower classes?

I don't know what sort of drugs are prevalent, but I assume there would be a cheap drug that is somewhat "affordable" to the denizens of Sac-Town. Of course, you get what you pay for so, I wouldn't expect to have a good time when using the cheapest of drugs. I don't see why an info-gatherer wouldn't be okay, so long as their connections are shoddy or nonexistent. Guess it depends on what you mean by unemployment? As for cybernetics, I believe most anything is fair game, minus high-quality or military-grade equipment. The poor wouldn't have access to shiny technology in most instances.

Info-gatherer being basically a guy at the docks looking at things and observing stuff, either through cameras (Probably a bad idea unless they're the lowest form of tech physically possible) or in person. Unemployment being that the crew he ran with was murdered rapidly.

Info-gatherers are often so much more than just 'that guy at the docks'. To give an example, one of the reason the Game of Throne character Varys "The Spider" is considered so damn dangerous is that even if he never puts a single knife in anyone, he has the ears of a wide array of people from many walks of life. People often had rather loose tongues around homeless people in medieval society and it's likely the same wouldn't be much different today if the ones talking don't know any better. Homeless people are also rather observant for the right amount of money in their pocket and generally left well the hell alone to beg for change and/or food so long as they aren't a nuisance...imagine what such folk could learn in this setting.

Its one of the reasons why the homeless/poor are often affiliated with thieve's guilds in countless settings. They're already gonna hear and see things, if somebodies gonna pay them to listen more carefully well why not?

The difference between a spy and an information broker is only whether the same person pays for your services or anyone of interest in what you hear.

Indeed, COUNTLESS pieces of literature and cinema have painted out a 'king of beggars' for a reason. Homeless folk often look out for each other and will keep an ear to the ground for interesting tidbits the right people may want to know. While such social phenomena isn't always the case with every homeless population, in a cyberpunk setting a low-tech solution to a high-tech problem is always welcome when it can come cheap, even if it doesn't have a use in every situation. Even Al Capone, one of the most vicious gangsters in American history was well known for efforts to gain the favor of the working class by opening soup kitchens during the Great Depression.

Sure, the guy may've beat people to death with a baseball bat but they probably had it coming for crossing him and he put bread 'n soup in our family's stomachs, he can't be THAT bad, right?
