At least it means good sleep for a few of us (not those on the coast of course) but I find rain relaxing. Still I had a bad sinus problem (still kind of do)- it's been ongoing for a year now and I'm starting to get worried. I even forgot about having a post to respond to in the IC. I was at work months ago and they needed someone in the washroom so I got the machine started- bleach- dish detergent- and the floor's supervisor comes in not knowing that I've already added the bleah and adds more- my poor nose has not been the same and my eyes where so irritated that day. Yesterday it was so bad that I thought of writing a "If you have found me dead this morning...." letter for the family or going to a hospital (but I'd rather not bother the family with such bills nor the company as it wasn't something intentionally done and I was too shy to protest and unaware of the harm that would befall me. Anyhow- the nose I feel is better today then it was yesterday. But I am worried- I had sneezed so much yesterday that my arm began to hurt- did you know that your heart stops each time you sneeze?

...

that's probably why I felt like I would die yesterday but my mind was so- like it felt like my brain was- ... for some reason last night I was like "Well if I die I die, perhaps it'll be an interesting means of meeting one's end- some medical peculiarity or-" dag gum it I wasn't even thinking about how others might feel.

But it's improving- so here I impart some wisdom to you all- Bleach will burn the eyes and destroy the flesh of your inner nose. Do not use more bleach then needed and if more is used don't rough it like I did. It was last year and I'm still suffering. Please don't just 'let it be' when such happens.

It didn't help that I also fell on my face this year- I got new work shoes after that but please don't get your selves in this state of being. Had I been more aware of what damage I would be inflicted I would have walked to the other end of the building regardless of where I was suppose to be to get a face mask and I would have inquired about some goggles. Would I have disliked being problematic? Yes- Yes I would have and not suffering this I would be thinking 'wow I shouldn't have made a fuss now I'm standing out rather then blending in'. ... Perspective I suppose. Just- don't let your self be put in a health risk situation and if you find yourself in one get proper equipment to counter the effects- don't rough it bare skinned like this one had.

Today's been better.

Also... I really need something to do with this mysterious orb. I've literally made a 'heads-tails' chart for the orb's actions because I have no idea what it is either. I can't keep this chase on going- I've got to do something with this - thing. I can't have Yellowstone in an un ending game of cat and mouse... .... I don't think I can.

Velas Redragen
-Velas was a lowborn living in the Lantern Quarter of Grishet City, the capitol of Marinea. Velas' mother was a prostitute and his father is widely believed to have been a wagoner named Wren, but his mother's not sure. Due to his status, Velas was not given an education as a child and did general labor around the brothel. He was drawn (pardon the pun) to art as a young boy, and would often spend what little money he could scrape together on parchments and paper, using his considerable creativity to craft brushes and paints for himself. To this day, he prefers to use his own hair in his brushes as opposed to horse or boar. When he came into his teenage years, he realized he could make a lot of money selling paintings of his mom's coworkers under the table to patrons of their fine establishment. One of the lords recognized his talent and offered for him to paint his families portrait. Velas agreed and quickly settled into the new life of the elite. With proper patrons, he was able to afford proper materials for the first time and even he even bought himself a workspace in the Merchant's Quarter, where he was constantly inspired by the people. He quickly rose to prominence in elite social circles for his ability to capture the "magnitude" of his subjects. He became used to having to obscure his past, often claiming to be a distant, talented relative of some duke or other. After a long chat with an erudite scholar, Velas became interested in enchanting as a form of magic, and began to attend the University of Grishet. He studied earnestly, and while he lacked the natural talent he had had with painting, and while he had to overcome the severe hurdles of illiteracy and poor education, he did well enough in his classes. It was around this time, as he was walking the docks and studying at college, that he began to become aware of the general... revolutionary... atmosphere of the populace. He could read the works of Jim Keye and Marie Aro as they called for an end to the nobility, and Karlos Checks' manifesto that railed against capitalism. Meanwhile he was commissioned to make a grand portrait for the emperor. He would only be able to complete the first rough sketches by the first bloody communist uprising. By the second uprising, Velas had wisely chosen that living among the nobility was a dangerous position. Having heard of the idyllic Island from merchants, he decided to take an early retirement. He has moved into an apartment near the center of town.

Velas is a meek, though thoughtful and creative, individual of 5'11''. He is of average build, with pale brown skin and dark hair. His eyes are bright blue. You can typically find him hanging out around the Hungary Hound in his typical light tan clothing, stylishly accessorized with bright turquoise bands and clasps. His current work covers a range of subjects, but mostly the Island's many cliffs, and all of the paintings include the sea.-

Thank you and I have a question as this is now the third application mentioning Communism and the 2nd to mention Capitalism (though the 1st time it was as an emerging ideology where people name themselves after products)- since you are very excited can you tell me what it is about the OP that prompts players to consider such scenarios?

I have had previous mentions edit such out of the application due to 'time period' the RP is in. Sure it's not our Earth but still I have no idea where players are getting such ideas from and would like to eliminate the cause.

Likar for example had communist rebels in Marinea before we even had a name for the country but the references was removed in favor of generic rebels. Since I asked him to make that change I'm going to have to impose it upon you as well. It wouldn't be fare to Likar if I did not.

Edit: It's peculiar that so many players have assigned such rebels to the same nation long before it even had a name in the game so I figure there must be either A) a psychic connection of some kind or B) something in the OP post that gives players the idea.

Ah, I see. What led me astray is the the OPs mention of a "terrible state" and that is super vague. So I looked at Andsed and Likar's apps, and saw that there was a revolution happening. My mind immediately jumped to revolutionary France. I really like the idea that the Island's overseer is politically unstable, as it means we can't really rely on the mainland for help and also opens up an opportunity for some sort of civil war based event (like troops wanting housing, impressment of locals, naval battles off the coast, that sort of thing).

The question becomes are we closer to the enlightenment or the renaissance. We established renaissance tech, but with the addition of magic maybe there is more automation? Or maybe guns were developed earlier to counter battlemages? I don't know, but reading this, it just feels like the enlightenment, and that's why I thought revolutionaries made sense.

Honestly, I’m tempted to make an NS nation based on Hetrana, but it would be wrong to just take all the work everyone’s done here and use it for myself.

French/American/even English Parliamentarian style revolutionaries came to my mind but for some reason it's been Communist each time- and I honestly don't know why. So - your response doesn't help me determine why it's that specific ideology each time.

We had a ruling on guns- that they can be flint or matchlock (the same guy Likar who first mentioned communist also mentioned guns so that's what lead to the tech ruling as it put the fantasy vibe off that the already present players where and have been experiencing).

As for the rest I don't have any input to give but welcome to the RP.

It'd probably be better if you had others do something with other in the setting to create an NS region so you wouldn't be alone as Hetrana. But I don't think we are yet at the point of such being a prospect.

Her name was Akeno. I myself was around 100 meters but being seen as the bigger and stronger one had pleased, but I soon learned it was the other way round. I made many attempts to court her but every time she would reject it, but I never gave up. It was my perseverance that she told me later in my life that had won her over. On the day that we did the mating ritual, I was in a blissful state. I could already imagine myself living and dying with her.

After around 3 centuries give or take a few of becoming mates, my lovely mate would bear me my first child. We decided that to move along in our life we would give our daughter or son a more "western" name. We wanted him/her to thrive in their life and it seems as the west was much more interesting and it seemed as the western nations could one day become dominant. When the egg finally cracked after ten years of waiting out came a little Sea Dragon. She was a blend of both of us. She had blue purple and white skin. It was interesting as where the white came from but I couldn't wait to introduce her to Xīdì No doubt that he would dote on her. During that moment of my life, I experienced a bliss that I never had before. I had a natural impulse to protect my precious daughter from the rest of the world. We ended up naming her Seraphina.

It wasn't even around Seraphina's tenth birthday that her mother and my mate was killed. On that day she decided that she would take Saphrina out along to play. They were quickly spotted by Pirates since they were near the surface, and before long they were throwing harpoons at my Mate Akeno. She was attacked due to the price that people would pay for Sea Dragon Scales. They were known to have healing properties and people would pay large amounts for the scales. It took many harpoons but my Mate was eventually killed, and Seraphina was injured badly since she hadn't developed scales yet. I was curious as what was taking them so long to return so I set out to find them, but what I saw was a sight that I would never forget. It still haunts me now. It was the sight of my Mate getting torn to pieces and her scales getting plucked off her body. I seeing that saw a red haze and the next thing I saw was the Pirate Ship destroyed and the all those that were desecrating my Mate's body dead. I would fall into a period of depression but realizing my duty as a Father now being the sole Parent of Seraphina. I decided to somewhere far away. Where we would no longer be harmed.
