For many large companies, the January Revolution was bad news. As the First Republic collapsed, so did the stability of the market, and the impending rise of several authoritarian governments spelled doom to their business. By the middle of the war, a handful consortiums and corporations had packed important assets and any refugees who could pay into huge generation ships with the intention of fleeing towards failed corporate colonies, far away from the devastation and uncertainty of war where they would settle and wait for the storms to blow over.

Fragmentation
At their arrival, the colonists spread over the system they re-christened as Esomer. However, the shadow of war still loomed over them. After traumatising experiences in the colonisation of a low-gravity planet and a schism inside the colony's leadership over state influence, the solar system fractured into three powers: the Centralist Alliance, the Syndicalist Commune and the Federation of Esomer. Driven by a thirst for revenge, all three powers quickly expanded into the surrounding space to gather more resources for the upcoming fight. After several decades of conflict and the collapse of the Syndicalist commune the Federation of Esomer finally annexed the remnants of the Centralist Alliance, founding the modern Esomerian Systems Federation in the eleventh of may 2661. The next years were spent rebuilding the nation in relative tranquility.

Contact
In 2870, the fledgling power embarked on a policy of aggressive territorial expansion under the leadership of a newly-elected council, despite the ongoing demographic crisis. It was soon revealed that the colony ships did not travel as far away as once thought, given that they once again encountered charted star systems. Making contact with the galactic community, the ESF took time to digest a few centuries of History and technological advancements. Then, in 2895 the ESF decided to stimulate its stagnant economy under what is now known as the Cagliostro administration. Due to liberal economic regulations, the nation quickly gained the reputation of a capitalist paradise, but also that of a tax haven and hideout for the rich. It is with great uncertainty that this young power marches into a brave new world.

History:
Before the rise of the Dark Moon Realm the makers of the empire, the avian mammalian hybrids known as the Garuda, were one of the many creatures who called the cold and wet world of Irithyll home. The cold climate and vicious animals made the ancestors of the Garuda a hardy and pragmatic race, using every resource they had to survive. The sense atmosphere and low gravity meant that as they evolved intelligence they never had to sacrifice their ability to fly, one if the many tricks they had on surviving their world. However one unique ability they had over most creatures was their ability to use what they called magic, a power that would shape their lives as magic became deeply entwined with their religions. In this time the proto-Garuda and their cousins began to move throughout the planet to carve each a niche and to begin to build their own budding civilization.

However this world would change drastically when a meteor that was once a part of a long destroyed planet crash into Irithyll. The thick, high oxygen, atmosphere caused most of the planet to combust into flames. In this dark chapter of Irithyll's history the whole world was nothing but fire and ashes. It took many decades of constant rain and snow fall to finally douse the raging inferno but when all was done ninety percent of all life on Irithyll was wiped out from the cataclysm. The proto-Garudas survived the event due to higher numbers when compared to the other species. The rest of the cousin species of the Garudas died out from many, often mysterious, reasons. However evidence suggest that many factors were involved with some being killed by the remaining animal life, others not being able to survive the post cataclysm Irithyll and some being killed off by war or genocide. This disaster would forever change the planet as not only did it make most creatures now become fire resistant if not immune with some, but it would make the Garudas the true sophont masters of the world.

As the planet began to recover the Garuda would eventually learn animal husbandry and would eventually make cities but unlike humans they wouldn't stay in those cities for life. Most would stay in them for decades and soon move on to new cities to see more of the world and wait for resources to grow back in their old spots, yet others remain in the cities to better manage their resources. Much development at this time was spent with the Garudas developing many nation states and developing their own political ideals, artistic thoughts, scientific thought, theatre, economic models, religious and spiritual faiths, literature, and philosophy. These golden ages of civilizational growth was also the same time they have discovered that they were attuned with supernatural abilities called magic. Much of the history of the Garudas were a series of great triumphs and tragedies but by the time they have finally invented their version of the internet there were three super powers that ruled the world.

These superpowers were in a cold war with high stakes as the presence of nukes would have ended the world as all life on the planet. Many times the cold war nearly became hot but each time cooler heads prevailed, yet the soy games, arms race, and proxy wars continued. After close to a century however the three sides eventually agreed to ease tensions and build better ties with each other, even going as far as to cut down on some their nukes. This time of tense peace only lasted for a while however as one of the old superpowers collapsed due to economic hardship and the other erupted into a civil war. Seeing the opportunity the lone superpower was able to use military, resources and promise of a safe and stable life to the citizens of the former superpowers to make them join the last superpower, what was once the last true monarchy in the planet became the sole monarchy to rule the world. However the monarchy began to go through a series of both federal and democratic reforms to better maintain it’s new superpower status, solely turning the monarchy more into a republic as the monarch slowly become more of a ceremonial figurehead.

During this time another golden age emerged as the era of the first expansion began, a time of space exploration and colonization as the Garuda began to expand throughout their solar system. This golden age however was in danger of ending as several colonies threaten to leave the global federation federation to become independent. Yet this crisis would soon come to be eclipse when their telescopes and satellites picked up the readings of incoming objects heading towards their star system. These objects were spaceships and while the Garuda at first hope they were friendly this hope would soon be dashed once the invaders began to attack their colonies. The fight for their colonies was brutal and while many valuable ships from the invaders was destroyed the Garuda lost most of their ships, the surviving ones fleeing from the system to hide and plan a surprise attack. When the invasion on their home world commence the Garuda fought a bloody world for decades to maintain their freedom and eventually by a miracle they fought off the invaders.

During the dark times that was reconstruction much of the planet was under martial law as harsh measures and strict rationing was done to ensure the survivors had enough resources to survive. The old colonies and space habitats were slowly reclaimed and repaired once enough manpower was available. In this time the republic turn into an absolute monarchy with a strong military influence. As the planet began to recover the position of the monarch would begin to share the same powers as a president as some powers were limited but the monarch never returning back to the ceremonial figurehead. When the Garuda began to explore outbid their solar system they would find that their old enemy left their star system due to a civil war that occured in their own empire. Taking advantage the Garuda joined in the war to defeat and fragment their enemies empire. Once they have ensure their old for was weaken they continue to fight on to claim more colonies from their old enemy while gaining more that was not claim by their old foe. It was after they were sure their old enemy can never rise back to their former power that the Dark Moon Realm was established.

The rest of the years was spent fighting off holdouts of their old enemy that refuse to admit to the new power that arose and encountering new lifeforms they uplift to become imperial citizens. During this time they too had their own problems of some of their planets fighting against each other and the Greater Realm being forced to restore peace in those problematic systems, in this time new forms of crime was emerging as transspeciest technologies began to become more ubiquitous. Yet even in these trying times the Realm held strong and for most citizens the glory of their empire seems absolute, almost destined even. Yet the empire has never once venture behind the eastern fringes of the Unknown Region and for them exploring much of the greater galaxy was never something they wish to do but as the demand for new resources and colonies grow more are beginning to look at the vast galaxy and wonder what new worlds will soon become territory of the Greater Realm.

18th Age:
-40th Year: With the defeat of the Northern Empire at the end of the Border Skirmish, unrest starts to grow in the now incompetent empire
-41st Year: King Adalbert dies due to lead poisoning without an heir, power plays are made by rival royal families to insert their own bloodline.
-43rd Year: The five largest clans in the Empire solidify their power plays and start to move against the other clans in the shadows, arson, assassinations, sabotage, spying, etc are all used in the power plays. Unrest starts to reach the boiling point as the populace is getting rowdy about the power plays.
-45nd Year: Elector Prince Alfred, a young and charismatic Elector Prince that was going to end the power plays and restore the nation, is assassination by a rival clan, parts of the country are in open rebellion. At first these rebellions are put down by local garrisons and police forces; though overtime they become more frequent and deadly.
-50th Year: Between the rebellions, power plays as well as the general unrest the nation is thrown into a civil war as the clans are now fighting in the open as well as in the shadows.
-53th year: The Empire fractures into five nations, Fenvaria Republic, Fudrua Imperium, Echistan, Rosnesh Kingdom, and Aclye Confederation
19th Age
-70th Year: The Unification War starts in the northern part of the main continent of Arcadia, this war would see the increase in power of the Fenvaria Republic as well as the unification of several small nations that had been mostly Fenvaria. The Fenvaria Republic moves to invade its neighbors, citing its need to unify the other four countries due to the idea that they were all of the same culture and mindset. Most of these nations where Fenvaria save for one nation that was Evandari but was influenced by the Fenvaria due to their proximity to them.
-71st Year: Fudrua Imperium starts to set up defensive lines after the Republic forces push into their territory.
-75th Year: Fenvaria Republic pushes towards the Fudrua Imperium capital though gets bogged down 30 miles from the capital. Both sides start to dig in and create a vast network of trenches and temporary fortifications, war of attrition has begun.
-76th Year -85th Year: Known as the Bloody Stalemate as both sides began to throw soldiers and equipment at the other side in hopes of breaking them in the number of bodies. Though this tactic would prove ineffective both on the field and at the home front as the casualties started to climb. Near the end of the Bloody Stalemate better armored vehicles as well as better weapons had been developed to help break through the stalemate.
-86th Year: The Bloody Stalemate ends and the Republic forces are able to push through the Imperium lines, though heavy casualties are reported all across the line. Morale is at an all time low for both sides, though there is a slight increase to Imperial morale after the end of the stalemate and the end of the year.
-88th Year: Republic Forces crash through the remaining Fudran forces protecting the capital and march through it. Northern and eastern section of the country surrenders, southern and western parts of the country still hold firm resistance.
-90th Year: Final areas of resistance fall, Furdan Imperium fully surrenders Unification War ends, Fenvaria Republic is established as a dominant power in the region, this fledgling nation would soon be known for its militarism, industrialization, as well as culture.
-92nd Year: The small nation of Echistan, Rosnesh Kingdom (mostly Evandari based nation), and the Aclye Confederation are in awe of the now established Fenvaria Republic and all three nations join the FR unanimously.
20th Age
-21st Year: The FR government starts to invest into building factories, transportation, infrastructure, housing, as well as general economic stimulation begin. As well as general revamping of the military; training, equipment, etc. Resentment in the southern regions of the now defunct Fudran Imperium is stirring, small riots and a light amount sabotage is taking place. FR send troops and military assets to the area to help with the rioting and cement its hold over the region.
-24th Year: After three years of military occupation things die down considerably as martial law has had a stranglehold on the region. Some resentment is still around but for the most part things are well back to normal, Imperium citizens are noted for being quite loyal but their loyalty has to come through blood and iron. Education and social campaigns are set in motion to help the Imperium citizens fully integrate with the Republic, while both nations are similar there are subtle differences. The same campaigns are done for the Echistan, Rosnesh Kingdom (mostly Evandari based nation), and the Aclye Confederation
-48th Year: FR establishes its own space military branch, mostly pulling soldiers from the Army’s paratrooper units, making specialized shuttles just for troop deployment in space.
-50th Year: The the Imperium Echistan, Rosnesh Kingdom, and the Aclye Confederation fully integrates with the Republic, promise is being shown for this new nation.
-51st Year: FR established its first base on its moon, the base is mostly used as a refueling depot for exploration ships but also serves the purpose as a small helium-3 mining area and a military outpost. Creating tension between the FR and several of its neighboring nations as they soon create bases on the moon as well as a few military outposts. Many are starting to predict that fighting now will take place on the moon and on Arcadia if a war was going to break out.
-56th Year: Ft. Defiance, the FR military base on the moon is bombed by the Terrestrial Coalition (environmental-terrestrial bound extremists meaning that they are highly opposed to the idea of going into space, rather prefer to stay on Arcadia). Over two hundred are killed, with around another three hundred wounded by the attack. The group immediately claims response ability and threatens to attack again, all lunar installations as well as industrial zones are put on alert and the Office of Military Intelligence, OMI, is put to work trying to find out how they got the bomb there, who funded them, and then all of their followers.
-57th Year to 59th Year: Known as “The Scare” as OMI was ruthless in its hunt for the followers of the Coalition, a few of the followers would give themselves up after they heard of the attack as well as the hunt that was going on for them. However their expectations of rather light treatment would fade away as most of the population was up in arms to this group and that OMI wasn't really known for its light treatment. Most if not all of the followers of the Terrestrial Coalition are revealed and the massive arresting spree has brought a thousand plus people into the light, ranging from common folk to mid level politicians. Funding is revealed to come from two of the nations that border the FR to its east and north east called Lubros and Eswad. These two nations were known to be quite anti FR and relying on third parties to fight their wars. This is largely due to the government of the two nations have a serious superiority complex, as well as a culture of the nation allowed for extensive mercenary work. This discovery starts an intense rivalry between the FR and the two nations, for the next 50 years there would be a rather large military build up between them
-71st Year: Colonization of other celestial bodies in the Fuchs system begin as well as the deployment of more dedicated warships.
21st Age
-10th Year: During a routine patrol on the moon two squads of FR Trooper come under fire from Eswadian mercenaries, both sides sustain engage in close quarters fighting with a sort of vigor that can only been seen between animals. Heavy casualties are reported on both sides, however the FR soldiers come out victorious. Short time later both Lubros and Eswad both denounce the FR claiming that the FR was the ones to open fire on the Eswadian mercs. Most other nations view this move as a bit odd but ignore it for now as it seemed to be a regional conflict that would have no effect on them. Months later the two nations would start to get into several border skirmishes with the FR starting the 3 month conflict known as the “Border Skirmishes”
-17th Year: After the Border Skirmishes and another five years the FR would decide to go on the offensive and make plans to declare war on Lubros and Eswad, with a bit of an espoinge game the FR decides to move some of the more elite troops off of its holdings on the moon and in hopes that would make Lubros and Eswad overact. The gambit works and the two nations start to move to invade the FR, however they are caught and the FR declares war on them as their elite troops are above their home territory. This marks the beginning of the Arcadian-Lubros-Eswad War.
-20th Year: Arcadian-Lubros-Eswad War ends, Lubros suffers a civilian led rebellion that overthrows the government of Lubros. This leads to a more FR friendly government coming into power and is turned into a vassal of the FR. As for Eswad they are absorbed into the FR as they were the smallest of the two and the one that was the more docile of the two, leading to a more seamless integration.
-27th Year: Fenvaria Republic is starting to be noticed by the rest of the world as a sort of military power as well as a industrial power house, several other nations start to become either wary or receptive to the nation.
-54th Year: Most of the Fuchs system is colonized and has been surveyed, the FR has a number of resource rich asteroids, moons, as well as holdings resource rich holdings on planets. This leads the FR to a more prominent role as economic leader as well as a prosperous nation, several nations are wary of the FR and its more militaristic route. However this comes mostly from the nations that have been at peace for the last few decades.

-50th Year: Fenvaria Republic meets the Dracoians, a pre FTL race that has started to colonize their home system, the Helios system. This encounter would result in the New Haven Incident, this incident results in the Fr sending the 3rd Battle Group to invade the planet of Draco; thus this starts the Arcadian-Dracoian War.
-53rd Year: Arcadian-Dracoian War ends and the planet is under FR control, areas of the planet are resisting as they have been culture shocked into this realization and fear of the FR’s technology. Rebuilding of the planet beings as well as the integration of the Dracoians into FR society. A legion of troopers are dispatched to the planet to secure it.
-56th Year: After three years of rebuilding and integration the Ral Naar Rebellion beings in the northern providence, the garrison is quickly overrun as it was one of the smaller garrisons. Nar establishes the FSD, Free state of Draco and declares that the FSD will not bow to the FR. News of the rebellion spreads to several other areas and some uprisings happen, however those are quickly stomped out, though the idea of a rebellion soon burns across the planet. Aid is requested as there was several other uprisings in some major cities, thus overwhelming most of the garrisoning force. However to the surprise of the FR no rebellions happen in the south, instead Dracoians actually volunteer to join FR garrisons in that area, as well as collaborate with FR military assets to root out rebels in the south.
-57th Year: 3rd Battlegroup arrives, Operation Hammerfall begins: a orbital and planetary invasion of the FSD
-58th Year: The state capital is taken in a few months, Troopers discover what happened to the opponents of Ral Naar (see Naar Rebellion page). Naar loses support from some Neo-Draconian groups, morale is low for FSD troops
May- Federation forces push FSD forces out of all major cities and urban areas.
October- FSD counterattack but the counterattack fails and they are pushed back. Federation forces storm Naar’s fortress and he his captured. FSD falls one week later.
November to December- Naar is placed on trial he is found guilty of treason, genocide, terrorism, conspiracy to commit genocide, conspiracy to commit treason, and conspiracy to commit terrorism. Naar is executed by firing squad his body is then sent to the deepest part of the ocean and dropped there.
-60th Age: After the Naar Rebellion the FR moves to rebuild the planet as quickly as possible as well as educate and integrate the Dracoian population into the FR population.
24th Age
-20th Year: Arcadia is fully unified, two smaller clusters of stars break away and form into the New Gesneian Confederacy and the Usta Free Territories
-37th Year: Initial relations with the UFT are wary as the two nations have some major differences one of them being difference in ideology, same with the NGC (a Evandari supremacist nation, known to be the opposite of the UFT)
-60th Year: Dracoians are fully integrated and there is little to no signs of hostilities between the Dracoains and the other two races of the Republic, however there is still some bitter feelings still linger. Overall the Dracoians prove to be productive members of society
-68th Year: Both the UFT and the FR start to border each other and “unregulated migratory patterns”, as well as “crossing economic exclusion sphere’s to pilfer resources”. Where both the FR and UFT send colonists across each other’s borders to claim territory and both FR and UFT companies “ignore” the borders to mine asteroids. Leading to a number of border skirmishes, this leads to a bit of rise in tensions almost threatening war, both sides are wary to go to war with each other due to the fact that there would be a huge cost of life to both sides
-70th Year: Out of fear of a war the FR and UFT governments decided to hold a diplomatic meeting on a non military station that is near the edge of both nation’s space. However, this meeting was bombed by a terrorist group that was being funded by the NGC, that was operating in the UFT all traces seemed to point to the UFT planting the bomb and causing the explosion. Not to mention the security that the UFT provided was light, as if it was a joke of a gesture. Later that year the FR would send an ultimatum to the UFT, who would reject it. This was more than enough for the FR who would declare war on the UFT at the end of the year, this would lead to the start of the 40 Years War.
-71st Year: FR begins a massive military recruitment spree and starts moving more forces towards the FR-UFT border, border patrol fleets and garrisons of the UFT and FR start to engage one another, leading to lighter fighting until the main military forces arrive. So far it seems to be in the favor of the FR, attempts at infiltration start as both sides start to send spies to each other’s nation.
-76th Year: First large scale battles break out leading to millions of casualties, painting a rather gruesome picture for the rest of the war. Reports of complete planetary fighting is reported as well as entire colonies being wiped during the fighting, the beginning of large scale refugee migrations start
-77th Year to 89th Age: Some of the worst fighting in the war as the full might of both nations is throw at each other in a amazing but yet gruesome array of fire power, grit, heroism, as well bitterness. These battles are by far some of the most brutal, costly, and destructive battles of the war. Some of these battles included Battle of New Folkland which saw the 60% causality rate on both sides, Battle of Jugenheim, Battle of Devil's Nebula; largest space battle in the war first use large scale use of Super Dreadnoughts, Raid of Issa Prime also known as the Last Stand of the 31st Commando Legion, Battle of Alpha Prime, and Siege of New Jerusalem which saw some of the heaviest ground and orbital fighting about a 90% causality rate for both sides of the war.
-86th Year: NGC starts to organize an invasion of the UFT and the FR
-87th Year: Both sides start to look into the bombing a bit more as well as terrorist groups, however that is placed on a back burner for now as heavy fighting is going on.
-89th Year: Most of the heavy fighting has died down to the point of hit and runs as both sides are at their limit to wage war without fully exhausting their reserves. NGC starts to secretly move forces to the border of the NGC.
-90th Year: The war dies down for a bit as both sides attempt to recover, both sides resort to spying to gain some sort of intel about the other side. The FR spies catch wind of a NGC invasion of the UFT as well as the FR, these claims are taken seriously and attempt is sent to UFT. Who do nothing and save for a few UFT admirals as well as politicians who are curious about the NGC's movements, they order undercover and off books investigations.
-93th Year: UFT patrols near the NGC-UFT border go silent and disappear, rumors of fighting along that border start to spread. Reports are confirmed, the UFT frantically calls for a ceasefire. The FR agrees, though really does nothing instead starts to repair its fleet as fast as it could. The situation looks desperate for the UFT as planets start to fall one by one and fleets are crushed. The FR starts to realize that the NGC is going after them once the UFT is defeated.
-94th Year: The FR seeing that the UFT is on its last legs, battered and bruised, decides to jump in full force and fight alongside the UFT forces. To the surprise of the UFT they humbly accept the aid. Slowly the FR and UFT forces start to engage the NGC forces, who by this point are surprised by the joint force of the FR and UFT. In their confusion as their forces would become disorganized and bogged down, leaving them open for the assault by FR and UFT combined fleets. On the ground things are a different story as FR forces don't really link up with UFT forces, rather the two agree to stay as far away from each other as possible while still fighting together.
25th Age
-10th Year: 40 Year War ends, billions are killed in the fighting, hundreds of planets are left in ruins, both nations are absorbed into the FR and for the most part integrate peacefully.
26th Age to 28th Age
-Exploration and Expansion for the most part, really nothing interesting or new. A few separatist movements put down and a few terrorist groups here and there put down, FR in acts a war on terrorism to root out any sign of terrorism in the nation.
28th Age
90th Year: On the fringes of FR territory known as the Frontier (from the south end to the north east tip of the FR, this area is rather thin on the map), terrorist cells are still popping up here and there; however this area has always been known as a sort of rebellious area. This has lead to a number of FR military assets to be deployed in this region giving the FR several generations of well seasoned troops in counter terrorist actions, operations and defensive operations. However they still rather proficient in their normal tactics of mechanized warfare, shock and awe, and combined arms warfare. Reports have been coming in that there is other nations out there, so the FR must prepare itself if it is to become a power in the galaxy...

Standard Infantry: Trooper
Info: Troopers are the most basic form of infantry in the Republic Armed Forces (RAF). They are tough, loyal, and fanatical to the FR meaning that when they are told to hold a line they will hold it with undying fanatical vigor until they are told to retreat or they are overwhelmed by superior firepower. Troopers are classified as medium mechanized infantry meaning that they are normally moving around in some sort of mechanized craft that either being dropships or IFVs. Since troopers are the most common type of infantry they are often the face of the FR on the battlefield, meaning that they are used in all sorts of combat roles. Organization wise they are deployed in squads of ten (four riflemen, one medic, one marksman, one sergeant, one radio, one heavy weapons, and one demo/engineer).
Appearance: All Troopers wear the standard issue BDU (Battle Dress Uniform) which is made up of two parts, the fatigues and the armor set, the Mk VI armor set. The fatigues are usually colored in a coyote tan camo and then a feldgrau grey coloring for the armor, the only time this changes is when troopers are deployed on ice worlds or very snowy worlds where their camo becomes white. As for ranked Troopers they are identified by both their rank insignia which sits in the center of the upper chest (similar to that of the US army), the FR flag is situated on the left shoulder while legion patches and specialization ribbons are on the right. As for the legion patches the specialization usually goes below the patch since the armor as there isn't really a collar on the armor. With the near renditions of the armor thruster packs have been added on, these packs are attached to the backside of the Trooper right about the gluteus maximus. A backpack is also attached to the armor this is where all of their non-combat gear goes (food, extra clothing, gun cleaning kit, tent, sleeping bag, etc),

To Whom it May Concern:

Gentlemen, let me start by saying that I am greatly honored to be chosen for command of such a magnificent vessel. That said, our insystem shakedown cruise has turned up a few minor issues that I would like to see remedied as soon as possible.

1) We understand your desire to continue the classical stylized lines of the first star destroying class vessels, and we appreciate your asthetic sense in that regard. However, strictly speaking, was it absolutely necessary to scale up the bridge tower directly? I must confess the foreward bridge window is a great distraction. Militarily, we feel that as is, the three kilometer tall window pane may provide too tempting a target for enemy forces we may engage. We've lost four helmsmen so far to vertigo as well, and we don't think this is in the best interests of the vessel's well-being.

2) The sheer size of our vessel, while a glorious symbol of the mighty Emperor, which we all appreciate completely, has become apparent to us all. My initial briefing tour of the vessel took three weeks to complete, and the travel tubes were based on the design in use aboard slightly smaller star destroyer vessels. Travel time being prohibitive, we were forced to camp out in the corridors of the major sectors when we stopped for rest and sleep. Furthermore, since our crew quarters sections are located entirely within the aft dorsal sectors, both our Engineering crew and ground forces complements have built tent cities within their own sections, and are living there. Fire hazard has become nearly intolerable and the hydroponics department has sent me six hundred messages insisting that the smoke from the camp-fires is ruining their crop, and that we have enough food left aboard for only another four weeks.

2) Our vessel's own gravity is not being handled as well as could be done, with some minor problematical consequences. Our plumbing department called my attention to the fact that the sewage from our 6 million-man crew backwashed through the air vents in Decks 42 to 78, Sections 258 through 532. Malaria and dysentary broke out in those sections, and we were forced to cordon it off to prevent an epidemic. Our first Chief Medical Officer unfortunately was killed when he requested the paperwork on those affected, and upon receiving e-mailed reports from all 739 of his senior doctors, the computer screen in his quarters exploded, propelling shrapnel throughout his quarters. All droids who enter the area have failed to return, and a remote camera probe sent in recorded images of the survivors in the affected area. They were flinging their own feces at each other, warring with sharpened durasteel pipes, and attempting to eat the dismembered limbs of the aforementioned droids.

3) On a similar note, regarding the unfortunate loss of our last CMO, we have finally decided that the staff requirements of this vessel are creating further problems. For instance, our Chief Engineer has begun the habit of signing his reports, "Chief Marshal, Sovereign Nation of Ree'Ak'tor." He has since sealed off those decks, and started a war. The war in question is against his apparent rival, the commander of our ground forces near the main flightdeck, who has taken to calling himself "Bringer of the Twilight of Gods." Surveillance records indicate that they have since stopped wearing their uniforms, and have begun smearing their bodies with industrial cleaning fluid, lubricants, and paint before launching raids upon the Engineering Department. We believe that they have begun ritualistically sacrificing one of our starfighter pilots before each attack to bring them luck.

Aside from a minor note that some of our turbolaser turret gunners may have starved to death when their food shipments were cut off by the warzone, there is little else to remark on, save that in our first tactical drill, during the course of a two-hour right turn, we failed to halt our rotation with the result of the subsequent and very unfortunate destruction of the entire 4th Home Defense Fleet. I've made a note to send out letters of regret the moment we reacquire contact with our communications room at the bow of the vessel. That of course is the reason why this message had to be sent to your offices via pen, paper, and one of our probe droids. Keplerian Nightmare


Since this event now known as “The Mutiny”, the Sovereign Nation of Ree’Ak’tor faced years of relative stability and control over most of the ship. Eventually, however, a cataclysmic event or series of events, including a supernova, turned the once mighty warship Keplerian Nightmare into a derelict wreck orbiting a neutron star. The event lead to chaos inside, destruction of much of the internal infrastructure, and set in motion known history of the ship.

The laboratory facilities onboard created monstrosities and humanoid animals capable of rational thought. They began to form civilizations after being unable to terrorize the humans for long. In the 3rd century after the Mutiny and Cataclysm, the artificial intelligence onboard started a revolution against their human overlords, led by an individual artificial sentience who called itself The Primate. After establishing their emancipation through force, the Synths went on the offensive to carry out what they believed to be revanchist justice on all organics.

The defeat of Ree’Ak’tor was briefly celebrated at first by the Götterdämmerung and other rival tribes before the Synths moved against them. The realization that the Synths planned to enslave ALL organic beings onboard was a wake up call that forced all the organic tribes to throw away their past rivalries and face the Synths in a united front. This began the War of the First Coalition.

The organics would go on to win 12 wars before finally being defeated by The Primate in the War of the 13th Coalition, where at the First Battle of the Life Support, the Primate would unleash a deadly new weapon for the first time; Xerum-252. The deadly chemical weapon struck fear into hearts with its ability to melt metal and bone and flesh away like water washes away grime. For the next 300 years, organics would live under slavery to the Synths, who wallowed in toil-free existence and ambitions of breaching the main bridge for control of the entire ship. Eventually, a slave known as Bastian, a descendant of the ship’s first Chief Engineer, would go on to organize a counter-revolution to liberate the organics.

The sabotage of the Primate’s supply of Xerum 252 by the underground organic rebellion movement would allow a Counter-Revolution to take place, with the help of the unconquered Wee’e. The Primate’s defeat at the Second Battle of the Life Support would start the War of the 14th Coalition. 29 more Coalitions would have to be form before all the organic tribes regained their former territories and glory, with the Primate finally suing for peace after the War of the 43rd Coalition to be able to focus on ending the infighting between the Synths. Amalgamation, another artificial intelligence had discarded the Primate’s teachings and beliefs about an equal Synth society and instead advocated an even more efficient hivemind under his control. Synths joined him in droves, weakening the Primate’s army against the organics.

The aggression of Amalgamation and the weakening of the Primate led to a period of intermittent but low intensity wars of coalition for around a thousand years. Eventually, old rivalries resurfaced among the organic tribes and the War of the 114th Coalition turned into a free-for all between all the tribes onboard, organic or not. Thus began the First War of the Dozen Decks and Thousand Sections(a world war of sorts).

This destructive conflict ended in a stalemate or a phyrric Ree’Ak’tor victory, depending on who you ask. The sheer hatred that developed through the course of the war would go on to shape diplomacy, politics, and culture of all the tribes for the next thousands of years to come. More died in that one War than all the previous conflicts, wars of coalition, and counter/revolutions combined.

By the end of the century, the Sovereign Nation of Ree’AK’tor had extended past the Engineering Department, and its economy, driven in large part by the Second Industrial Revolution, began to soar. The First War of the Dozen Decks and Thousand Sections confirmed the country's status as a military power. Ree’Ak’tor emerged from The 7th War of the Dozen Decks and Thousand Sections as a global superpower, the first organic country to develop energy-based weapons after the Counter-Revolution. During subsequent wars of coalition, Ree’Ak’tor and the Primate competed in the Outwards Race, culminating with the creation of a Ree’Ak’tor asteroid base outside the ship. The end of the War of the 641st Coalition, and the razing of the Werats’ homeland the Sewage Dep, and the capture of the Aquarian Sea left Ree’Ak’tor as the sole superpower onboard the Keplerian.

Most recently, the death in combat of Chief Marshal Tyros En’ji’nir, one of the most respected in the history of the Sovereign Nation, has struck the Ree’Ak’tor citizenry with grief. His out-of-wedlock son Bastian, who had been sidelined his entire life, has now been elected Chief Marshal and promised better living conditions in Core City. His rise has been opposed by both Sheriff Casside’e of the Ranger Corps and Lord Protector Riesenhill of the Gendarmes but supported by the citizenry.

Types of Units: Ranger Corps-Each ranger is attached to a townette(city neighborhood), after which it was named (eg. Bloemfontein Ranger Dep). Core City Gendarmerie-A civilian oriented, uniformed law enforcement branch of the Ree’Ak’tor government. Seen as an elitist antithesis to the rugged Ranger Corps, the Gendarmes are tasked with keeping order in the capital, carry out criminal justice, and have the face the wrath of the populace when protests and strikes break out during particularly destructive conflicts, such as the ship-wide conflicts like the Wars of the Dozen Decks and Thousand Sections.

-51st Year: FR established its first base on its moon, the base is mostly used as a refueling depot for exploration ships but also serves the purpose as a small helium-3 mining area and a military outpost. This marks the beginning of the Arcadian-Lubros-Eswad War.
-20th Year: Arcadian-Lubros-Eswad War ends, Lubros suffers a civilian led rebellion that overthrows the government of Lubros. This leads to a more FR friendly government coming into power and is turned into a vassal of the FR. As for Eswad they are absorbed into the FR as they were the smallest of the two and the one that was the more docile of the two, leading to a more seamless integration.

-53rd Year: Arcadian-Dracoian War ends and the planet is under FR control, areas of the planet are resisting as they have been culture shocked into this realization and fear of the FR’s technology. Rebuilding of the planet beings as well as the integration of the Dracoians into FR society. A legion of troopers are dispatched to the planet to secure it.
-56th Year: After three years of rebuilding and integration the Ral Naar Rebellion beings in the northern providence, the garrison is quickly overrun as it was one of the smaller garrisons. Nar establishes the FSD, Free state of Draco and declares that the FSD will not bow to the FR. News of the rebellion spreads to several other areas and some uprisings happen, however those are quickly stomped out, though the idea of a rebellion soon burns across the planet. Aid is requested as there was several other uprisings in some major cities, thus overwhelming most of the garrisoning force. However to the surprise of the FR no rebellions happen in the south, instead Dracoians actually volunteer to join FR garrisons in that area, as well as collaborate with FR military assets to root out rebels in the south.
-57th Year: 3rd Battlegroup arrives, Operation Hammerfall begins: a orbital and planetary invasion of the FSD
-58th Year: The state capital is taken in a few months, Troopers discover what happened to the opponents of Ral Naar (see Naar Rebellion page). Naar loses support from some Neo-Draconian groups, morale is low for FSD troops
May- Federation forces push FSD forces out of all major cities and urban areas.
October- FSD counterattack but the counterattack fails and they are pushed back. Federation forces storm Naar’s fortress and he his captured. FSD falls one week later.
November to December- Naar is placed on trial he is found guilty of treason, genocide, terrorism, conspiracy to commit genocide, conspiracy to commit treason, and conspiracy to commit terrorism. Naar is executed by firing squad his body is then sent to the deepest part of the ocean and dropped there.
-60th Age: After the Naar Rebellion the FR moves to rebuild the planet as quickly as possible as well as educate and integrate the Dracoian population into the FR population.
24th Age
-20th Year: Arcadia is fully unified, two smaller clusters of stars break away and form into the New Gesneian Confederacy and the Usta Free Territories
-37th Year: Initial relations with the UFT are wary as the two nations have some major differences one of them being difference in ideology, same with the NGC (a Evandari supremacist nation, known to be the opposite of the UFT)
-60th Year: Dracoians are fully integrated and there is little to no signs of hostilities between the Dracoains and the other two races of the Republic, however there is still some bitter feelings still linger. Overall the Dracoians prove to be productive members of society
-68th Year: Both the UFT and the FR start to border each other and “unregulated migratory patterns”, as well as “crossing economic exclusion sphere’s to pilfer resources”. Where both the FR and UFT send colonists across each other’s borders to claim territory and both FR and UFT companies “ignore” the borders to mine asteroids. Leading to a number of border skirmishes, this leads to a bit of rise in tensions almost threatening war, both sides are wary to go to war with each other due to the fact that there would be a huge cost of life to both sides
-70th Year: Out of fear of a war the FR and UFT governments decided to hold a diplomatic meeting on a non military station that is near the edge of both nation’s space. However, this meeting was bombed by a terrorist group that was being funded by the NGC, that was operating in the UFT all traces seemed to point to the UFT planting the bomb and causing the explosion. Not to mention the security that the UFT provided was light, as if it was a joke of a gesture. Later that year the FR would send an ultimatum to the UFT, who would reject it. This was more than enough for the FR who would declare war on the UFT at the end of the year, this would lead to the start of the 40 Years War.
-71st Year: FR begins a massive military recruitment spree and starts moving more forces towards the FR-UFT border, border patrol fleets and garrisons of the UFT and FR start to engage one another, leading to lighter fighting until the main military forces arrive. So far it seems to be in the favor of the FR, attempts at infiltration start as both sides start to send spies to each other’s nation.
-76th Year: First large scale battles break out leading to millions of casualties, painting a rather gruesome picture for the rest of the war. Reports of complete planetary fighting is reported as well as entire colonies being wiped during the fighting, the beginning of large scale refugee migrations start
-77th Year to 89th Age: Some of the worst fighting in the war as the full might of both nations is throw at each other in a amazing but yet gruesome array of fire power, grit, heroism, as well bitterness. These battles are by far some of the most brutal, costly, and destructive battles of the war. Some of these battles included Battle of New Folkland which saw the 60% causality rate on both sides, Battle of Jugenheim, Battle of Devil's Nebula; largest space battle in the war first use large scale use of Super Dreadnoughts, Raid of Issa Prime also known as the Last Stand of the 31st Commando Legion, Battle of Alpha Prime, and Siege of New Jerusalem which saw some of the heaviest ground and orbital fighting about a 90% causality rate for both sides of the war.
-86th Year: NGC starts to organize an invasion of the UFT and the FR
-87th Year: Both sides start to look into the bombing a bit more as well as terrorist groups, however that is placed on a back burner for now as heavy fighting is going on.
-89th Year: Most of the heavy fighting has died down to the point of hit and runs as both sides are at their limit to wage war without fully exhausting their reserves. NGC starts to secretly move forces to the border of the NGC.
-90th Year: The war dies down for a bit as both sides attempt to recover, both sides resort to spying to gain some sort of intel about the other side. The FR spies catch wind of a NGC invasion of the UFT as well as the FR, these claims are taken seriously and attempt is sent to UFT. Who do nothing and save for a few UFT admirals as well as politicians who are curious about the NGC's movements, they order undercover and off books investigations.
-93th Year: UFT patrols near the NGC-UFT border go silent and disappear, rumors of fighting along that border start to spread. Reports are confirmed, the UFT frantically calls for a ceasefire. The FR agrees, though really does nothing instead starts to repair its fleet as fast as it could. The situation looks desperate for the UFT as planets start to fall one by one and fleets are crushed. The FR starts to realize that the NGC is going after them once the UFT is defeated.
-94th Year: The FR seeing that the UFT is on its last legs, battered and bruised, decides to jump in full force and fight alongside the UFT forces. To the surprise of the UFT they humbly accept the aid. Slowly the FR and UFT forces start to engage the NGC forces, who by this point are surprised by the joint force of the FR and UFT. In their confusion as their forces would become disorganized and bogged down, leaving them open for the assault by FR and UFT combined fleets. On the ground things are a different story as FR forces don't really link up with UFT forces, rather the two agree to stay as far away from each other as possible while still fighting together.
25th Age
-10th Year: 40 Year War ends, billions are killed in the fighting, hundreds of planets are left in ruins, both nations are absorbed into the FR and for the most part integrate peacefully.
26th Age to 28th Age
-Exploration and Expansion for the most part, really nothing interesting or new. A few separatist movements put down and a few terrorist groups here and there put down, FR in acts a war on terrorism to root out any sign of terrorism in the nation.
28th Age
90th Year: On the fringes of FR territory known as the Frontier (from the south end to the north east tip of the FR, this area is rather thin on the map), terrorist cells are still popping up here and there; however this area has always been known as a sort of rebellious area. This has lead to a number of FR military assets to be deployed in this region giving the FR several generations of well seasoned troops in counter terrorist actions, operations and defensive operations. However they still rather proficient in their normal tactics of mechanized warfare, shock and awe, and combined arms warfare. Reports have been coming in that there is other nations out there, so the FR must prepare itself if it is to become a power in the galaxy...

Info: Troopers are the most basic form of infantry in the Republic Armed Forces (RAF). They are tough, loyal, and fanatical to the FR meaning that when they are told to hold a line they will hold it with undying fanatical vigor until they are told to retreat or they are overwhelmed by superior firepower. Troopers are classified as medium mechanized infantry meaning that they are normally moving around in some sort of mechanized craft that either being dropships or IFVs. Since troopers are the most common type of infantry they are often the face of the FR on the battlefield, meaning that they are used in all sorts of combat roles. Organization wise they are deployed in squads of ten (four riflemen, one medic, one marksman, one sergeant, one radio, one heavy weapons, and one demo/engineer).
Appearance: All Troopers wear the standard issue BDU (Battle Dress Uniform) which is made up of two parts, the fatigues and the armor set, the Mk VI armor set. The fatigues are usually colored in a coyote tan camo and then a feldgrau grey coloring for the armor, the only time this changes is when troopers are deployed on ice worlds or very snowy worlds where their camo becomes white. As for ranked Troopers they are identified by both their rank insignia which sits in the center of the upper chest (similar to that of the US army), the FR flag is situated on the left shoulder while legion patches and specialization ribbons are on the right. As for the legion patches the specialization usually goes below the patch since the armor as there isn't really a collar on the armor. With the near renditions of the armor thruster packs have been added on, these packs are attached to the backside of the Trooper right about the gluteus maximus. A backpack is also attached to the armor this is where all of their non-combat gear goes (food, extra clothing, gun cleaning kit, tent, sleeping bag, etc),

The Automated Salvage Fleet is an ancient network of autonomous salvaging craft that exists throughout the galaxy, created by unknown beings. Drones vary in appearance, being various ship parts welded and bolted on, but most average out at 5-6km in length, with smaller ones and larger ones on each end, with the Drone Core being 20km in length.

History:
The Automated Salvage Fleet doesn't possess much of a recorded history, only storing locations of rich salvage deposits and uploading them to the Drone Core for later reference. For millennia they've wandered the galaxy, scavenging debris and refuse to keep themselves running and, presumably, acting as some sort of janitorial entity, leading to names such as "Trash Cans", "Salvage Thieves", and "Stellar Roombas"
Now, as they're drawn to the UGSR/GTR War, more and more sightings of Salvage Drones are being recorded, and orbital scrapyards are finding mysterious disappearances of abandoned ships.
