After the invasion of the Reach in 2016, the Justice League's covert operations team formed of their various younger associates and sidekicks were exposed.

The Justice League utilized the good PR that this team had amassed for defending the Earth, along with their own, to reform it into what they referred to as the Young Justice League. The team of young heroes, former sidekicks, became the first team of the YJL. The League made agreements with various Earth governments, and in the end, the Young Justice League became a series of regional and city-based teams of young heroes in training who would one day graduate to become full Justice League members.

Members of the Young Justice League who were formerly independent heroes rather than being sidekicks of a Justice League member would be required to eventually give their secret identities to the League itself - and once that happened, some governments required them to inform the parents if and when possible to seek parental permission to continue being heroes. Of course, at first, there was a struggle with that clause - but eventually, it was able to be moved on from.

Ever since, the Young Justice League (whose youngest 'accepting age' is 13) has acted as an international force for good - to both train young heroes and forge them into better ones, as well as to allow for the Justice League proper to focus on global/international or even extraplanetary threats. The Young Justice League teams would handle regional or city level crime and events, usually with at least one member of the League acting as local liaison or support.

Today is January the First, and the year is 2020. The Young Justice League has been active for four years, and has had multiple (eventual) graduations into 'seniority' to become full-fledged members of the Justice League itself.

The world has changed, for the better, and this is only the beginning...

Hello, and welcome to Young Justice: Dynasties - a roleplay based on the animated series, post-Season Two (if a bit altered). In this roleplay, you will take the role of a member of the Los Angeles Young Justice League team. Your characters are apart of a team charged with the fighting of crime within the southern Californian region surrounding and within LA. Your liaison with the Justice League is one of the Green Lanterns.

Welcome to the Young Justice League.

I. No Godmodding, Metagaming, etc.
II. Standard RP etiquette in general.
III. The OP's word is law.
IV. Most characters are going to be minors. That means the PG-13 rule will be strictly enforced and the penalties of breaking it will be a permanent ban from this RP and any subsequent sequels, as well as whatever wrath the Mod Gods deem necessary to rain down upon us. DO. NOT. GO. ABOVE. PG-13.
V. Have fun.

OP Apps:

APPLICATION

Name: Kierra Mills
Hero Identity: Insight
Age: 18.
Sex: F.
Appearance: Out of costume, Kierra Mills is a 6'3" athletic girl who has a rather toned and muscular physique - one that isn't overtly masculine. Her body is only vaguely feminine - enough such that people do not question her sex out of costume, and attractive enough to be the envy of some girls her age, but otherwise she doesn't seem very feminine beyond her long, curly black hair. She is half African-American, her skin tone is lighter than average and her eyes are quite odd - her right eye being grass green and her left eye being ocean blue.

As for Kierra's costume, it is a rather simple bodysuit design that covers her head to toe. It isn't quite skintight and has some armor plating. It is a featureless costume that is royal purple in color, with a vertically oriented eye symbol in the center of her chest. Her hair comes out of the back of her full face mask/helmet, which beyond a horizontally oriented eye that looks of normal human proportion in the forehead is otherwise featureless.

Personality: Kierra Mills has a rather unhealthy obsession with remaining as fit and slim as possible, usually finding time for this while out of costume. She has a very well structured diet that she never deviates from, not even for her birthday. She is compartmentalized and organized - great at multitasking and dealing with multiple issues at any given time.

Kierra can sometimes seem... off to people, whether in regards to her rather obsessive compulsions or her powers. People sometimes accuse her of being “nosy.”
Sexuality: Asexual, but panromantic.
Powers:
  • Telempathy: Kierra has some capability to read other people's emotions and project her emotions to others. This enhances her empathic ability, but also distances herself from others by making her seem a bit intrusive - nowhere near as intrusive as a telepath would be, without a doubt, but most definitely unappreciated in some ways. By the same coin, this allows her to let people know she needs to be left alone without speaking as her anger or annoyance quite literally can be felt.

She has little control over this ability, but what control she does have allows her to figure out what people are thinking based on their emotions.

Outside of her line of sight, she can generally sense emotions over a rather large radius - as well as their relation to herself, to some degree.
  • Intuitive Cognition: Kierra has the ability to intuitively and intimately understand various things about the world, and because of her telempathy, this often boosts her ability to butt into people's business as she can often figure out very quickly their actual thoughts based on their emotions and body language.

This is also useful for predicting people's fighting moves and countering them. It also allows her a strong amount of multitasking capability, as she can parallel process a lot of information at any given time (which also prevents her from getting headaches from seeing people's emotions all the time).

Combined with her range, she can tell how hostile someone is towards her and vaguely determine why as well as figure out their likely course of action should they get to her.
  • Emotional Spectrum Access: Kierra's abilities manifest themselves most physically in the form of her access into the Emotional Spectrum. While she can't use any abilities to their full power or compete with the likes of Green Lanterns, she can quite literally mold emotions into a wide variety of versatile tools or weapons. Or attach emotions to objects, granting them effects to do with that Emotional Spectra.

Red/Rage-enchanted objects will often do more damage or be better at offense, while Blue/Hope-enchanted objects might be better at healing. She can also manipulate other people's emotions if she puts her mind to it, but doing so can cause some level of backlash through her telempathy.

Equipment:
  • Costume: Her royal purple costume, empowered by the Indigo Light of Compassion and the Pink Light of Love, induces an aura of awe in those around her. It also makes her able to sense injuries and heal people or herself faster than normal humans can heal and able to generate Indigo Light shields around herself and others.
  • The Sword of Justitia: This aptly named sword was forged by Insight before she joined the Young Justice League. It is empowered by the Red Light of Rage, specifically by the righteous rage of those who are victims seeking justice or vengeance against those who wronged them. It also is empowered by the Yellow Light of Fear, specifically the terror instilled in criminals who know they are beaten and those who are about to face the wrath of the justice system.

The Sword of Justitia induces fear in criminals who see Insight wield it and sates the rage of those who wish to have justice imposed upon the criminals of the Earth in its presence. It causes temporary, nonlethal wounds to those who have committed wrongdoing - regardless of the actual damage done, it will remain nonlethal. This was achieved through both Insight's power infusing it as such as well as some magicks that had previously enchanted the sword when it was first forged for her by a friend of her family.

As soon as it is sheathed, all wounds it has caused will disappear.
  • The Ancile: A specialized shield forged by the Indigo Light of Compassion, the Blue Light of Hope, and the Green Light of Willpower. It is empowered to be almost completely indestructible and is themed to look like a Roman Ancile type of shield, with the theme of an eye painted on it to match the rest of her costume. It can even create large front-facing shield projections or bubble shields made of a mix of Indigo, Blue and Green lights.

Independent Experience: Two years of independent heroing throughout southern California, formerly known as Justitia. Chose the name Insight upon joining because she thought a new name might help her look like a better hero. Changed her costume, as well, after charging the new one with enough of her power.
Biography: WIP.
