He does! :) And looks like Shark Isle's got Nathan Jones lined up to fight Joe, oh no! And welcome, Jerdos, glad to have ya onboard! :)

And yep, Pax, I consider Joe #24 a classic although its probably not as revered as the 'silent issue' G.I. Joe #24. And no worries, take your time with your app. :)

And yay, getting tags, so excited! :D

Ok. Also, should I link to another RP for the sample?

Only if you've RP'd as Bazooka (or whoever the character is that you're apping for) before and that sample is at least five paragraphs long and gets to the heart of who Bazooka or that character is. I'd really prefer a sample written specifically for your app though. :)

Right, just two paragraphs but, of course, it can be longer if you need it to be. I kept the backstory requirements short because I know I was asking a lot for the RP sample. And I like what I'm seeing so far for your Bazooka app!

Thanks. I found an online copy of the filecard from the original toy, which is where I'm getting information from.

That's fine. But like I said in 'a few notes about character apps' please try and do the two para backstory in your own words even if you're keeping his history the same. And his signature quote, that should be completely original.

Signature quote? Like come up with a quote? I wasn't going to c+p the bio though.

Yeah, like a tagline. If you check out the filecards, all the Joes and Cobras have a quote that tells everyone what they're all about.

I mean, nothing fancy. Check out CG's and CC's quotes in their apps if ya need an idea. Just think, like, what would Bazooka say about himself to get across to people what he stood for, believed in.

It's set in the present day so think advanced tech, five to ten years down the road. Basically, anything in the prototype or concept stage at present that you could realistically sell as being operational to the average person.

Edit- Like, if DoD or DARPA invested millions or billions of dollars in R&D, could this weapon or vehicle or whatever really exist? It doesn't have to be cost effective and in fact it shouldn't be because it isn't intended for mass production but to be used only by Joe or Cobra. In Cobra's case, consider Destro's MARS Industries to be as technologically advanced as DARPA. And anything they don't have, they steal.

Yeah, and Cobra Commander is at the forefront of Experimental Weaponry. Who has two thumbs to fire lasers and railguns with?

Okay, added an 'Armory' and a 'Resource Center'.

Hey, Tam, since you're Cobra Commander, if there's any special stuff that you want to add to Cobra's stockpile, just do a post and I'll copy and insert it. :)

App should be about done:

Image

(JOB TITLE/DESIGNATION) MISSILE SPECIALIST
CODE NAME: (ALL CAPS) BAZOOKA

A simple weapon can be better than complex, modern vehicles.

File Name: (Last Name, First Name, Middle Initial) Katzenbogen, David L.
SN: 112-40-0577
Primary Military Specialty: Armor Defeating Weapons Systems
Secondary Military Specialty: Tank Driver
Birthplace: Hibbing, Minn.
Grade: E-5

Appearance: Image
Combat uniform: See above
Signature Weapons:
Backpack holding extra missiles,
rocket launcher, and a helmet.

Backstory:
Bazooka was originally a member of the US Army's Third Armored Division. Upon realizing that an untrained farmer with a simple, cheap weapon could knock out his 68 ton war machine, he decided to transfer and become an antitank weapon specialist. On his final test before actually becoming a Joe, him and the others in the group were attacked by Cobra. He has participated in various other operations, including the assault on Springfield.

His trainers consider him to be fast thinking and a survivor. He has unique experience in having been both a tank guy and an antitank specialist. As evidenced by his jersey, he likes watching football. His hobbies include fishing, when he has the time for it, which isn't too often.

RP Sample
David L. Katzenbogen, code name Bazooka, looked across the field. He was crouched behind a low brick wall, listening to the blanks being fired over his head. He looked at his objective, a pillbox with a twin .50 cal mounted on the roof on a tripod. Ten yards away from the pillbox was a HISS tank, which was pointing it's main gun at his position.

Duke, who was in command for this training op, said,"Bazooka, take out that tank." Bazooka nodded, and shouldered his MILAN rocket launcher and took aim. Just than, the tank fired a dummy round, which hit three yards in front of him. The sensors on his vest beeped, telling him he was out. He stood up, and said, "Ah well, we were close that time." Duke said,"If we had only been a little faster."

Bazooka walked back to the armory, to drop off his sensor vest. He than placed his MILAN rocket launcher on a rack, and locked it down. He left the armory, and went down to the barracks. He might even be able to catch a football game if he was in luck. He swung open the barracks door, and went to the rec room.

Sitting on the old broken-down couch were a few of his fellow Joes. They were watching some old movie, and would probably be unwilling to change channels, so he decided he would catch a few winks, maybe read for a little bit, before he had to go back on duty. He sat down in one of the chairs in the rec room, and picked up a two month old issue of Sports Illustrated.

He flipped it open to the first page, and noticed something was missing. He thought, "Why'd someone cut out the table of contents?" He read the magazine for a while, until he looked at his watch, and realized he only had five minutes until he was back on duty. He set the magazine aside, and stood up from the chair. The movie was still playing. He departed the barracks to go on duty, which for him was a perimeter watch today.

You know, since this is the supposed start of Cobra, I would say that it doesn't need anything special in the stockpile, such as its BATs and Vehicles, as those wouldn't have been invented yet.

So I think that Cobra doesn't need anything as of yet. (Unless you want the individual weapons issued out to Viper troopers listed then I can do that)

Nonono, you don't have to list their individual weapons. And don't worry about having to list the BATs or HISS tanks either. The Armory is only for special, non-canon stuff that you come up with. ;)
