Portuguese-Spanish Border, The small town of Barrancos, February 26th, 1939.

Portuguese soldiers would have been rallied towards the Spanish border on the orders of Oliveira Salazar, the leader of Portugal. The reason they were there now in the middle of the day was to set up camp and prepare for the invasion planned in early September by the Portuguese army. Tanks would roll along the border positioned towards the Spanish border and all traffic from Spain would be directed back to Madrid or the place they came from. Aircraft would regularly fly over the border and into the Spanish land taking aerial views for information for the Portuguese army. The planes would never land or attack, they would just fly around the border and land back in Portugal. Many of the soldiers were ready and antsy to kill Spaniard's and ultimately defend Portugal's honor. The generals of the army would be Portuguese extreme nationalists that had a heart for Portugal and only Portugal in their system. After all Portugal is better than Spain right? That of course is what they'd think because of Salazar's mass anti-Spaniard propaganda. The sun would be hot for the many soldiers, some would even be sleeping in their tents or bathing in the lakes to avoid the festering Portuguese heat. The soldier's would laugh and drink awaiting for their leaders order's and the eventual onset of death that was sure to be looked upon more than these happy memories.



Brazil, South America, Random Brazilian Beachhead, March 15th, 1939.

Portuguese troops would be launched on their own little landing boat crafts and sail towards the beautiful Brazilian beach's with the idea of Portugal's pride stuck in their head after about a month in a half at sea. Thousands of troops would be setting foot on the sandy beach's and begin setting up camp and unloading crates from the patrol boats that landed on the beach. Fortifications would begin to be made and tents set up, some trees would be felled for the campfire/bonfire and guards were set up at the edge of the jungle. The commander had one goal, and that goal was to ultimately make Portugal apart of the Portuguese fatherland once more. Suddenly birds would fly up from the jungles, and the first tree fell from it's mighty standing as the Portuguese Army made plans on marching inland tomorrow morning.


Lisbon, Portugal, Office Of Oliveira Salazar, March 16th, 1939.

"This is great!" Salazar would say enthusiastically and would break out a bottle of brandy. "I plan on making the Spaniard's paranoid and even make them stand off their military a bit. That's the one thing I wish to see, what they're packing. If that shows up i'll probably ease the Portuguese Military on the border and reopen for a week at least." Salazar would take a swig from his flask and pour some for his secretary Mendes. "My plan for the Brazilian's is simple. I want to get back OUR land. After all it belongs to the Portuguese fatherland! I shall then begin to focus back on our African colonies but I find it only fair we make the American's sweat a bit." Salazar would cross towards the window and open it a bit and then continue to speak, "I have no interest in entering a war we cannot win as of yet. I want the border to be closed as of now and all Spaniard's who come to the border detained. Thank you Mendes." Salazar would shoo Mendes off without the secretary of war even entering a single comment.

"This is outrageous!" Roosevelt would exclaim, one of his worst dreams becoming a reality. "Brazil has sent me a telegram explaining that the Portuguese have attacked!" He would shout at his security, "And because we must honor the Monroe Pact... we are now at war with Portugal. I need you to alert Congress and the Military of our state of war." He told the Secret Service agents in the room. Who did as told. "I now need to straighten out our situation."

FROM: THE UNITED STATES

In case you are unaware, Portugal has invaded Brazil. In honor of The Monroe Pact we have declared war. I simply wanted to make you aware of these events. God Bless The Americas! And may God watch over you, where ever your path takes you.

TO: THE SPANISH EMPIRE
FROM: THE UNITED STATES

I am aware that our relationship has been on the tense side since the invasion of your former colony, Western Sahara, a month ago, and annexation of said nation merely days ago. But we have a common enemy. An enemy more important than each other. The Portuguese invasion of Brazil has brought us to declare war. I would now like to join the Allies. And as you may soon become a member, I want our relationship to be less tense. As I know you wish to regain you colonial status, I am offering to cede you Western Sahara after this war is finished. With best regards, Franklin Roosevelt.

March 16th
President Grant Shalka read over the telegram about Portugal invading Brazil. He of course knew Andsed needed to take action. He called his Generals in and ordered them to begin mobilizing the Andsedian army. He then sent a telegram to Portugal saying.

Hello we have learned about your invasion of Brazil. Because of this unjustified attack against Brazil and of course the Monroe pact Andsed and The US have no choice but to go to war with you, If you do not pull out immediately you will be crushed.

He then made a speech to the Andsedian congress and the public explaining the situation. After he went to the war room and began helping coordinating the Andsedian intervention,

Syria and Lebanon
March 16

On February 25, Greece Surrendered. The area was annexed in the treaty of Athens. On February 28, the Italians landed at Durazzo and demanded the Albanians joined with them. Troops lined up at the border, and with only a couple hours left on the ultimatum Albania agreed since their leader was pro-axis (OOC: This happened in our actual timeline). On March 2 Italian Soldiers marched into Northern Somaliland by March 5 they had reached the capital of Hargeisa. On March 6 Djibouti was invaded and it surrendered on March 7. Troops landed in Italian Eritrea and would begin subjugating the local populace in Ethiopia after a couple of protests. On March 10, the reorganization of divisions was complete with conscripts filling empty roles. On March 12, Troops landed in Syria and Lebanon. That day they took many coastal cities. By March 14 Italian Troops had taken Homs, troops in the north used rubber boats to move along the euphrates river and by morning on March 16, they had taken all the major settlements, Meanwhile troops in Lebanon had made their way to Beirut and took the city, forcing the remaining government forces to retreat to the town of Joub Jannine. Soldiers from Homs took Al Nabk on the 15th, and Al Qisa on the 16. A detachment of troops and tanks broke off and took Joub Jannine by afternoon of the 16th. Since noon of the 16th Damascus has been under siege.

At Kure shipyards, under the cover of night and by mandate of the Commander in Chief of the navy, Warships No.1 and No.2 had their cannons removed, the largest cannons of their time in the world at 18.1 inches carefully transported away. Through rail and by transport ships carrying sections of the entire cannon along with men down towards Truk and Iwo Jima, conversion was soon underway. Warships No.1 and No.2, previously battleships, would now be known as carriers as further plans were drawn up to deal with the American threat, particularly in the south.

To their East, the American homeland posed a somewhat definite threat, although there were clear advantages that the Japanese islands had on the defense. For one, they were much closer to the Japanese home islands and could receive faster resupply from the islands as compared to the Americans from the Philippine islands. This would allow for forces to be able to sustain slightly longer defenses of islands as long as the supply lines could be maintained. Secondly, they were on the home land advantage. The islands had been reinforced by Japanese forces for a while and now that more forces had begun to arrive and reinforce the already present garrisons, that was in a sense assuring that the Americans would need to pay dearly for each landing they even dare attempt.

Of course with new plans meant a complete shift in thinking and strategy. By now the Shokaku class carriers were well underway, but as a precaution against further attacks they would have to be launched far later. Their design changes, particularly to armor now that Japan was forced onto the home defensive meaning shorter range meant that it was to be improved, with even their flight decks to be armored and fire fighting systems revised and improved to protect the heavy investments. Of course, now that meant that with shorter range and closer islands faster troop carriers had to be sketched, designed, approved and built. However, the army already had an answer. Shinshu Maru, completed 5 years prior as a troop carrier. She was a massive improvement in troop carrying capabilities, able to load daihatsu craft to launch troops and had new design innovations allowing for faster deployment. Her design was to enter production immediately under the mandate of the army, to be done in Korea in order to prevent over clogging the yards filled with carrier hulls.

In the air as well Japan wasn't looking to stay behind. It's prototype projects for the A5M had shown some results and was ready to award the contracts requesting for further designs but now two more contracts were sent out and immediately fought for. The first was for a new flying boat, the H6K could fulfill the duty of transporting goods rapidly to the front lines and could be tendered to by Kamoi, currently the navy's only seaplane tender. The second was for a new bomber. The G4M1 slated to be in production and the G3M1 were excellent medium ranged bombers, but Japan needed longer range. As such, the contract soon went out for a longer ranged bomber, capable of carrying large amounts of bomb loads or cargo over long distances as fast as possible, altitude didn't matter so long as they could get enough escorts in the sky.

Roosevelt had just finished sending telegrams to several nations. But now he needs to prepare his troops for what would be a Great War.
He ordered preparation for an invasion of mainland Portugal. Moving troops to both the East coast and Western Sahara while the military was being mobilized. In the Pacific, defenses were fortified incase of an invasion from Japan, (if Portugal were to call upon it's allies). America also began to boost the production of guns, ammo, and tanks. They would begin the faster production of other goods too as the economy adjusted, but they would begin with the things they need more of or lots of only. While America has taken several nations thus far, they haven't fought a war of this size before. Will America emerge victorious, or will this be the end of the Stars and Stripes?

Darwin, Australia, 0400 Hours, 1939
After an unknown fascist submarine attacked Sydney harbor, Australia joins the war with Allies. In foggy morning in Darwin, around 123.781 is about to join the war raging on in Europe. The soldier are waiting for the ships to come. In the harbor, General von Derrick discuss the plan for the second time before they go. "So our troops are ready right?". Sergeant Harrton, who will lead the battle in Europe, answer "Yes, we are ready as well the equipment and yes, we are 100% ready". General von Derrick arrive at the harbor. At 04.12 AM, the transporter troops ship's arrive at the harbor.

Perth, Australia, 0400 Hours, 1939
In Perth, Admiral Mark, lead 19 battleships and 16 destroyer to escort the transporter ships from Darwin. The escort ships also will fight in the battle in Europe. Escort ships finally arrives at Darwin.

After the escort ships arrive, the troops finally are inside the transporter ships. The mission was to arrive in Monaco. And stationed their position near Lyon.

Spanish-Portugese Border, March 18, 1939
Spanish soldiers stand on guard in the outskirts of the border, preparing for a Portuguese invasion. Anti-tank mines have been laid out across roads and chokepoints that tanks and infantry would need to cross through, while soldiers have been equipped with traditional rocket launchers and artillery brigades. A soldier cocked his gun and shot a target, scattering birds and other animals in the forest.
"PRIMER PLATOON! ¡NOS ESTAMOS MOVIENDO!" (FIRST PLATOON! WE ARE MOVING!)
The unnamed soldier got in a car and started the long drive to the direct border.

Madrid, Spain, March 18, 1939
Franco looked at the telegram sent by the United States the day before, and decided that Roosevelt was right; it was for the best. He looked on at the crowd outside of the balcony, many were waving flags and cheering as he came outside onto the balcony.

"My friends! Comrades! Fellow people of Spain! We have recently learned that the dastardly country of Portugal has invaded Brazil! This will not stand! I know many of you do not trust the people that we have decided to support. We fought against them until just 2 months ago, but you have to understand this one thing. FALANGISM IN SPAIN WILL NEVER SURRENDER!" The crowd cheered, and horn players played a fanfare. "Portugal has betrayed us! They promised an alliance but instead stabbed our allies in America in the back! As America is now at war with Portugal, we might have no choice in the upcoming days. We do not hope to do this, but we might have to; we just might have to declare war on the Portugese." The crowd boo'd at the mention of the Portugese, as a man holding a Portuguese flag over a neighboring balcony burned it while the people shouted "¡MUERTE A PORTUGAL! ¡MUERTE A PORTUGAL!" (Death to Portugal! Death to Portugal!) The crowd cheered as the burning flag was thrown to the ground, and Spanish guards as well as people stomped on the flag, ripping the parts that weren't completely burned. Franco smiled at the crowd, waving at the people as he went back into his office.

Arab Sea, offshore Yemen, 0400 Hours, March 9, 1939 (HMS Aborigin)
After 10 day sailing through Indian Ocean, Australian transporter ships arrives in Arab Sea as foggy weather greet them. "So, i cant wait to reach Europe." says Private Palltoon while he drink his coffee. "Yeah cant wait to reach the battle" answer Private Canny while he wear his sweater in the cold morning. On the controller deck, Captain Hoow still lead HMS Aborigin, one of the 15 transporter ship who transport troops and tanks as well artillery. "How is the situation up a head?" ask Captain Hoow to his college from Townsville. "Hmm..the weather is foggy and rainy is 98% will happen. The wave is calm so do the weather only fog. Visibility is 0.1 meters, the nearest lighthouse is in the Suez Canal, but there is a lighthouse in Sudan shore's."

Inside HMS Kangaroo, who is positioned inside the convoy. "Jam, how is the convoy situation?" ask Admiral Carhiek to James Harget a navigator and inspector for the Australian Navy. "Sir, the situation is safe. Although, some soldier worried if we have hijacker or so-called "pirates" attack our convoy. But for now the situation is absolutely fine"

Grant Shalka had just learned of the Spanish response to the Portuguese invasion and he was pleased to know Spain may be an ally of the US and Andsed in this war. He had also just go the report on the Andsedian military production. The report read.

DT-2 a heavy tank that has 14 mm armor with a .37 caliber main gun and a .50 caliber machine gun with a standard tread. Production of DT-2 begun on February 20th. 23 produced.

T2-4 light tank that has 5 mm armor with a .20 caliber main gun and .30 caliber machine gun with a standard tread. Production of DT-2 begun on February 19th 30 produced.

The Hellion 14 a middle of the road type fighter. Production of The Hellion 14 begun on February 23rd. 22 produced.

The Z-61 Thor a heavy bomber capable of carry 450 tons of explosive. Production of The Z-61 Thor begun on February 25th 15 produced.

The E24 Tornado A interceptor. Production of the E24 Tornado begun on February 27th 13 produced.

Shalka order for production to be increased and ordered for a draft to begin to take affect. He also ordered for the army which was still mobilizing to when ready enter Brazil and repel the Portuguese invasion. He also ordered for the Andsedian air force to begin to scout out the Portuguese forward base.

March 19

Italian soldiers marched on Damascus on March 17. Also on March 17, soldiers marched into the state of Palestine, with 2 Divisions landing at Tel Aviv and taking the city in hours, and another force from the north marching south that took Haifa, Nazareth, and Nablus. Both Forces then converged on the morning of the 18th, and surrounded Jerusalem, after a quick bombing campaign the city was stormed by tanks and infantry. On March 19th the City fell along with Damascus. That afternoon a Detachment of Troops attacked Al Mafraq and took the road to Amman opening a possible invasion route to Jordan. Planes took off from the Damascus airfield and bombing raids have begun in Jordan.

It has come to the attention of the Italian state that a possible enemy lies at the Italian border. We understand that you have ties to the Peoples Republic of Yugoslavia. Thus we have proposed two propositions for stopping a possible attack and war between our nations. We would like to first sign a non-aggression pact with the Soviet Union, thus securing the stability between our nations. We would then like to propose either the instatement of a puppet government in Yugoslavia to help control the nation as well as use it as a buffer between us, or a joint invasion in which a demilitarized zone is set up on our border. To accompany any troubles the Italian Government would be willing to pay a sum of money to the soviet union as well as reparations to the Yugoslavian peoples. Perhaps sorting out the affairs of this problem could lead to future co-operation between our nations, such as trade, and a joint conquest of Turkey. We would love to hear a response from you soon.

After 5 hours sailing through Red Sea, the Australian Navy convoy reach the canal. "Wow, look at the canal! I dont even know how do this canal fits huge ship like this" says Sergeant Kally as he shocked with the canal. After 1 hours sailing through the canal, Australian convoy arrived at Mediterrean Sea. Before the continue, the convoy load the fuel in the canal. "Ok, we are ready, but how about the sea?" ask Captain Wichard from HMS Lioners. "What are you talking about?" ask his friend Private Falk. "Naval attack." answer Captain Wichard. Falk answer confidently "Its fine, we'll be fine." Wichard answer "Well okay then".

Northern Brazil, Jungles, 280 KM from the Forward Camp, Portuguese Invasion Of Brazil, March 20th, 1939.

Soldiers would be trekking through the mighty jungles of the Brazilian mainland. Thousands of Portuguese would have already landed on the beach and have ultimately fortified the Portuguese base camp. The soldiers goal was to take the capital of Brazil before any foreign troops could possibly land or get to the capital city of Brasília. The Portuguese didn't care if they died in this god awful country that betrayed Portugal ages ago but only cared for the pride and capture of Brazil by Portuguese forces. Life or death was in the current minds of these soldiers who made their way through the jungle forces. Hours ago though in the base camp Portuguese commanders got word of the telegram that was sent to mainland Portugal by Andsed. The commanders on the battleships were told to keep a lookout for any foreign troop movement in the jungles and be prepared for a possible attack. The sun would set over the beautiful Brazilian jungle as the Portuguese stood watch on the unloving jungle.

"So they don't exactly like us walking into the America's with troops eh? I see the Spaniard's have brought up their army towards the border of Portugal preparing for the possible invasion of Spain by Portugal too, plus we have the threat of both the Andsedian Army and American's coming to Brazil and mainland Portugal?" Salazar would be smirking as he heard the news and stored the President of Andsed's Telegram in a small desk drawer.. "I shall write to the leader Francisco Franco and explain to him my motives on the Iberian Peninsula. National Portuguese broadcasts would be explaining the current status of Portugal and Salazar's propaganda against the America's would be playing. He'd love the sound of his recorded voice on the radio, however he had more important matters to attend to so he shut off the radio and sat behind his desk. Mendes and the entire Portuguese cabinet would be standing behind Salazar as he signed a declaration of war on the American's and Andsedian's. The picture would be brief and everyone escorted outside of the room as Salazar wrote the telegram to Spain.

TELEGRAM: To Francisco Franco, From Oliveira Salazar, Purpose: Increase in troops at border.

"Dear Francisco Franco,

I am sorry if the fine country of Spain feels threatened by the increase in Portuguese troops at the border. If anything i'm trying to prepare myself from a possible invasion from you once I attacked mainland Brazil. I ask for your forgiveness and wish to know how to make it up to you. We mustn't let the people from the America's influence the politics in Europe and should defend against them at all costs. The only reason I invade Brazil is for the uncalled for expansions inside of Africa near mainland Europe. We mustn't let them influence Europe, will you join Portugal in the heroic quest to stop the 'American Dream'?"

Salazar would then quickly send the letter to the Spanish border so it could be sent to Franco. He'd then begin writing a telegram to Grant Shalka of Andsed.

TELEGRAM: To Grant Shalka, President of Andsed, From Oliveira Salazar, PURPOSE:Invasion of Brazil by Portuguese forces.

"Dear Grant Shalka,

I demand this instance that you DO NOT decide to stop the Portuguese armed forces in mainland Brazil. We are only doing what is right in this current age and felt threatened by the American's. If anything please tell your allies to back off from the Western Sahara and let Portugal have it. We do not wish to go to war with your troops. If anything we wish to become friends, please let us have Brazil without any resistance, please and thank you.

Oliveira Salazar."

Salazar would send that telegram to Andsed and then work on writing one to the American president, he'd make sure to make his writing look angry and spiteful in this letter.



TELEGRAM:To POTUS, From Oliveira Salazar, Purpose:Invasion of Western Sahara by American troops and cause of Brazilian Invasion By Portuguese troops.

"Dear POTUS,

This uncalled for invasion of Brazil is the result of American forces invading and capitulating the Western Sahara. WE, The Portuguese people feel threatened by your actions and decided to take actions in a similar result. WE, shall stop the invasion only if the American's pull of the Western Sahara and refrain from entering Europe for the time being. If anything please annex land NEAR your enemies like the Soviet's. I wish you luck and please, we don't want to cause the death of troops in both of our armies. Also, we have exited the Axis powers and are currently considering becoming neutral once more. IF further American and Andsedian aggression occurs then we shall ultimately join the Axis powers with Germany. Thank you.

Salazar would send that to the POTUS and would quickly exit his office and head into the raging Portuguese office of war to make sure the invasion forces were moving smoothly through the harsh jungle.

Salazar would send that to the POTUS and would quickly exit his office and head into the raging Portuguese office of war to make sure the invasion forces were moving smoothly through the harsh jungle.

Grant Shalka looked at the response from Salazar and was shocked on how this man thought that he could become allies with Andsed. He quickly sent a message back saying,

"To Oliveira Salazar
We will not back down from your aggression. It is blatantly obvious you are invading Brazil due to your greed. Andsed will not allow you to attack a neutral nation that has done nothing to harm Portugal. If you do not cease this invasion we will have no choice but to act.

After sending the message Shalka entered the war room. Apparently the spy planes had spotted multiple Portuguese Battle ships around northern Brazil. Because of the distance it would be difficult for Andsedian troops to get to it. So what they planned to send a aircraft carrier with some escorts to launch a quick air raid. Shalka approved the plan and a small fleet consisting of a aircraft carrier, 2 cruisers, a destroyer, and two submarines. The aircraft carrier would be carrying 5 of the new Z-61 Thor heavy bombers 8 of the new Hellion 14 fighters and 7 of the new E24 Tornado interceptors. Also the First Andsedian army which consist of 150,000 troops with 5 of the new DT-2 tanks and 10 of the new T2-4 tanks was ready to move would move up to Brasília and would meet up with some Brazilian scouts who would guide them through the forest and help them fight the Portuguese.

Salazar would be ultimately pissed off at Franco's response to the most obvious. The obvious plans for America to become an imperialist empire. He'd sit down at his desk and ultimately write a letter to Grant Shalka of the Andsedian's to avoid total war and the destabilization of the Portuguese empire however he wanted to gain something from this.


TELEGRAM: To Grant Shalka, From Oliveira Salazar, Purpose:The refusal of pulling back troops from Brazil

"Dear Grant Shalka,

I want to inform you that the Portuguese troops shall be retreating from Brazil for now. We do not plan on going to total war with three to four nations. However, we demand that the American's retreat from Western Sahara and give it to us....not those bloody Spaniard's. We shall not leave without a gain in land or money. Feel free to counter offer me.

Salazar would send the telegram to Andsed and would work on pulling his troops back to the beach heads and ultimately defending the base camp. Portuguese from all over the nation would be celebrating the militarization of Portugal for the goal of gaining her land back. Parties would be erupting in the Plaza of Commerce and people would shout Salazar's name in repetition for him to appear at the window to wave. He did just that to appease the people of Portugal that warm march night.


Brazil, Base Camp, March 27th, 1939.

A telegram would be rushed immediately to the commander of the ground forces of the Portuguese army. The commander would be tired and irritated of the Brazilian heat. He'd snatch the letter and read it quickly and call his troops to turn around and trek back to base camp to protect and await Salazar's final decision of retreat with gain or total war.

The Portuguese embassy leader would read the telegram from Salazar and would look excited. Finally some action the East Indies and Indonesia. He'd quickly leave the room to inform the Portuguese troops in the barracks to begin readying themselves for the invasion of Pulau Sumba and the complete annexation of it. The telegram would read....

TELEGRAM:To head of Portuguese Embassy, From Oliveira Salazar, PURPOSE:Expansion inside Indonesia and the east indies.

"Begin the invasion of Pulau Sumba and make sure it is QUICK and QUIET. We do not want to make this an international incident like the Brazilian invasion. Make sure to execute any opposition and insert a powerful, loyal Portuguese force inside Pulau Sumba, and ultimately begin invasion of the other islands near Indonesia.

Grant Shalka looked at the response for Portugal and raised an eyebrow. Salazar was making the demand for the US to hand over Western Sahara to them instead of Spain. He sent a telegram back reading.

These demands are bold. I do hope you realize you are on very thin ice as of now. But I will send these demands of yours to Roosvelt and let him decide.

He sent the order for the to hold position and avoid any engagements for now. He sent the order to the First Andsedian army which was marching towards Brasília to once they arrived there to hold position.

Grant Shalka looked at the report and broke out laughing, A tiny Spanish rebel state declared war on the US and only sent in around 30,000 men to Brazil. The first Andsedian army which had around 150,000 troops 5 times the troops from Volanita had arrived at Brasilia and had begun setting up base. He gave the order that if they were attacked to encircle the enemy and drive them back but don´t pursue them once the begin to retreat.
