On another note. Can I just right my post without worrying about accuracy or whatever and then have you guys review it post-posting and I’ll make the necessary changes? It’ll make writing easier for me and it doesn’t sound unreasonable.

Biography: Vance was born on February 8th, 1972 to Miranda Schuster in Fullerton. Miranda split with her boyfriend and father of her child Jerome Blackburn three weeks after Vance was born. Already a poor man working two jobs Jerome quickly lost his two jobs and his apartment in Fullerton and moved to his cousin's house in one of the poorest neighborhoods in San Diego. Life was rough growing up for Vance with no one home to take care of him except for occasionally his father's cousin Tremain and Tremains wife Rochelle. This changed when his father was injured during his job at the docks at age 4. Jerome, who was originally hostile towards his son, grew close to him over the next year as he was recovering from his injury. Jerome stayed with Vance at home until aged 7, embracing the role as a father until he was deemed ready to return to work. When he did go back it was part time.
One of Vance and his father's favorite things to do was play basketball. Jerome's favorite part of the day was usually taking his son out to play ball on the driveway. When they werent practicing hoops Vance would be watching the Clippers game on the families T.V. Vance made himself a good amount of friends growing up however some of them wished to influence him badly. He was 14 when he was arrested for possession of marijuana however he was not charged. At age 15 he was again arrested, this time for burglary of a teachers car. This was Vance's last brush with the law. Vance's good grades combined with his game knowledge and athleticism would have allowed him to join his high school football and basketball team as a freshman and sophomore however due to said arrests he was barred from the ability to compete. In his junior year his grades took a hit however. Rochelle, who was a mother-aunt figure, was killed while driving for a job interview during the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake. His senior year was the first year he made the team;instantly he was a success. He set records for his highschool and he came out of highschool as a top recruit. He committed to Wisconsin and he played for four years until he was 23. During this time he was mediocre and did not achieve the kind of fame he had when he was in high school. He ended up being drafted in the second round of the 1995 NBA draft by the Washington Wizards/Bullets.
Vance's first year in the NBA was viewed by many as a failure. Blackburn wound up on the bench for most of the season and did not accomplish anything. In the 97' season he remained on the bench for most of the season, however when he wasn't on the court he was back home in San Diego or in D.C. hanging out with the community. Blackburn had become a fan favorite despite his limited playing time for his role in the Wizards community. He donated 500,000 dollars to three organizations that supported those in poverty in San Diego. In 1998 he donated another 500,000 to those suffering from Hurricane Mitch. He was traded from the Wizards to the SuperSonics where he earned a spot on the starting roster. After funding four basketball courts and personally visiting Honduras to help them recover he won the J. Walter Kennedy award. Although not a standout he began to play better. 1999 was a normal year and following another philanthropic year in 2000 he won his second J. Walter Kennedy award. In 2001 Vance was injured in the first game of the season and was out for the rest of the year. Blackburn signed with the Timberwolves for two seasons where he finished his career on the bench.
He and his wife Sylvia and son B.J. moved into a nice oceanside house in San Diego. Vance remained a face in the community past retirement and was always willing to go out on the street and see the beautiful city he lived in. Blackburn got a job in managing at the corporate branch of a local sports company. In 2007 he decided to change his focus to the government to continue and make a positive change in the community. In 2011 he formed his own sports company that operates along coastal Southern California. In 2014 he ran for mayor and narrowly beat out his republican opponent. Blackburn formed a organization called Play the Way to assist student athletes in bad places out in order to help them reach their potential and keep them away from crime. On November 12th he hinted towards wanting to run for governor. On January 15th he confirmed it.
Other Info: Married to Sylvia Blackburn with four sons: B.J. Blackburn (20) Jerome Blackburn II (14) Kyler Blackburn (11) and Markus Blackburn (8) along with his daughter Leah Blackburn (11) | business degree
