Looks like its time to issue the first strikes.... for violations of the first rule.

I am giving you your first strike. Did I give you permission to write for the enemy? No. Now, yes, I understand these may appear to be nameless grunts, but taking the fact I have been stressing the don't make assumptions, maybe you should have followed Granis' example, and stop your post as your character hits the enemy. Or you could have consulted with me, and I would have told you what would have happened. They may be nameless grunts, but in this RP, even those nameless grunts can kill you as there is no plot armour. So, you should have ended that post with Abigails attack if you weren't going to ask how the enemy would respond. Also there is the issue with Phil's covering fire, and how you assumed it would have staggered/slowed down the monster. However, since you had her injured, I will allow the post to remain as it is.

Also, specify the size of Abigail since you are using your power. Note that none of the trees in the forest are taller than 24 feet.

Understood. Apologies for the assumptions. I can edit my post accordingly, if you'd like.

Also, I purposely didn't include measurements because no measurements were available to measure her. I also didn't have reference for the tree height. Out of character, I will set her height at roughly 23 feet (7 meters), since that would align with the description.
I use my NationStates stats, because a population of billions/trillions and an economy of hundreds of trillions is totally viable, trust me.
But seriously, aside from the population and GDP, just assume that my NS stats are roughly accurate.

Against: Stupid people, resistance to industrial progress, alt-right, any form of government at or beyond socialism.

It doesn't really though.... Impossibly tiny implies that they are hard to see, and at 23 feet her breath wouldn't be able to shift the air currents.

I suggest using this website to get a better idea of the height comparison

Specifically, I was referring to her power limitations and her note that, at tiptoe, she could see above the tree line. "Impossibly tiny" was an exaggeration. I will change that part specifically right now, and will change the rest in order to not include NPC reactions upon your request.

You don't need to edit the rest, or any of it. Just keep everything I've said in mind for the future

And that includes this, when it comes to size changing powers, exaggerations are very likely to lead to confusion, so best keep the exaggerations at a minimum

I am changing my picture for Abigail into something that I think better fits her character, or at least her new character. I can revert to the old one if it is decidedly necessary.

Again, Zjaum, you seem to be over exaggerating Abigail's size again.

It's technically half the size of a semi truck. Still, the idea of a barricade to either slow down or force the enemy into a chokepoint works for something 7 meters/23 feet. Please correct me if I'm wrong in my assessment.

But not the same shape.

This is just an approximation based on the image provided. If she was to lay down at normal size, say on her shoulders, then her body would form a one foot to two foot barrier. And if she lays down flat or on her back, then at her normal height that wouldn't even create a foot tall barrier. So, now we need to scale the estimations up, and lets just go with the upper ends of the estimation so 2 feet (rounding up) for on her side, and 1 foot (again rounding up) on her back/front.

I'm going to assume that she's at about the female average for height normally, so 5'4" but lets round that up to 6' just to make this easier

So, right now at 23 feet she is 3.83x the very generous assumed normal height of 6'. Therefore, all over measurements of height would be 3.83x the normal

Which means, laying on her side would only turn her into a 7'8" barrier (which while taller than even the bulkier creatures, is climbable), but due to the small foundation, even at that size could easily be pushed over... meaning that her laying on her back/front is the most logical conclusion.

Thus she only becomes a barrier that is 3'10" tall, barely enough to slow them down more than the logs....

In terms of the on-shoulder height, the generous estimates worked in favor of a shorter barrier. Estimates as taken from here yield a biacromial (not "bicacromial," the website spelled it wrong) length of 13" (33 cm), and an average height (same site) of 63.7" (162 cm) and a healthy waist circumference of, let's say, 6" (15 cm; a number "guess-timated" from a healthy waist ratio and an ellipse circumference calculator). Given that the vast majority of these characters are from anime, dimensions may be skewed. That means that the base of the giant-barricade cross-section would be (276/63.7)*13 x (276/63.7)*6, or 56.32" x 26" (143 cm x 66 cm). As per Wikipedia (sorry; best source there is on pykrete), the density of pykrete is 910 kg/m^3, meaning that the density would be pi*.5632*.26*7*910= 2930 kg. That's over three tons, with very little to grip.

In centimeters, it would be roughly a rectangular prism with dimensions of 7, 1.5, and 0.5 meters. It would be difficult for any number of demons to push over something of that size that's sunk into the ice, especially if she's resisting them. Three tons is no laughing matter. You could flip over a small car if you had enough people, but a pickup truck is not happening. If they do manage to push her over, then you would be right, and it would be easily scalable. However, it's a significant stall tactic. I don't know how tall the enemy creatures are, but even relatively tall humans couldn't scale that height without using their hands. It would slow the demons down enough for the Dragontooth Company to focus on specific areas and targets. It would be the equivalent of sending an opponent's army through a marshland. It won't destroy the enemy necessarily, but they'll have a tough time moving, and they'll be easy targets that way.

tl;dr: You're right that it's not a big barrier (in the worst case scenario; in the fairly-reasonable best case scenario it's fine), but it is a more than reasonable stalling tactic, alleviating the Dragontooth Company of a continuous onslaught. Abigail didn't have much time to think this through regardless. Odds are that if this doesn't work that well and if she isn't dead because of it, she'll probably retrieve logs from the forest and rebuild the barricades, using skills from her canon childhood.

That's true. I just had time that I didn't want to spend cleaning the house; an intellectual curiosity for both of us. It was a plan that I spent three minutes devising, and one that Abigail spent one. I was wondering if it's actually feasible. It's not a great plan; rebuilding the barricade is probably a better plan.

Choosing math over house work... nice

Hey, it's the only way I roll! Clean houses never changed the world, eh?

Climb aboard, it's Zjaum's happy little Train of Thought!
Faal Lot Himdah wrote:I did advise against having Abigail lay down....

"Oh, so she'd dead?" Skims post "...Maybe? Possibly alive? I'll work on something."
Reads how they got her "I mean, I'm totally fine with Abigail dying, but she takes on 'the firmest form of the material that she absorbs.' Again, fine, but I'm just going to tack the note that the Type-2 demons can apparently slice through concrete. But... nah, not gonna bring it up. Don't want to be one of those RPers, and I'm really starting to lawyer like one."
Continues reading "Well... maybe I'll send Phil out to fetch her. Would be akin to a suicide run without his powers unveiled, though. Eh... I like her character..."
Concludes "Wait... What kinda weeaboo s*** is this?!"
Thank you for riding Zjaum's Train of Thought. Please enjoy the complementary mints on your way out.
As per my rule, I'm going to post after two unique characters post. (Tracian Empire and I guess some other guy, probably.) If this is going slow, I might waive my rule once.

Well, I did have a plan to keep her alive, but after this passive aggressive post....

Actually, quick question: If both my characters die, can I RP as one of the Dragontooth Company? I'm having fun, and I'd like to stay until its conclusion.

Also, am I annoying? I want to be a lovable A-hole, but if I'm just an A-hole, I'll tone it down a little.

Sorry about the inactivity. I was out of town for my sister's wedding. This is still active, right?
