Well, I have the Danes on my side to help, and if the USA gets involved, that maybe-sorta-ish makes me a co-belligerent. Maybe. As long as I don't get called in by Denmark on the war with America, the Danish-Haitian coalition should be enough to put you down, and we'll get half-and-half.

I mean, if I were given a choice to either live a comfortable life with my immigrating brethren, or move back into the eastern militarized communist state to fight a war that'll just end with blood on both sides, I'd choose moving West, because until we really reinstate the annexation and make sure it doesn't end up like Northern Ireland or Palestine BEFORE including it into the Union, I'm not having my faith in such an unstable area.

Yes, while your Cuban people have lots of patriotism and faith in their country, not all of them are going to fight, and not just for political reasons: You're going to have the elderly, sick, mentally handicapped, children, women, simply cowardly men, etc. who are probably going to take the easy way out and immigrate to another country.

Besides, when we talk occupation, we're not just 'keeping the peace and being local and maybe spreading the word here and there' occupation. We're talking public hangings of suspected rebels, encouraged exodus of ethnic non-mulatto Cubans, re-education camps for those who can't fall in line, interment of innocents in towns suspected to have high concentration of insurgency, secret police, constant invasion of privacy, even a little looting and rape here and there...

I don't see why Denmark would risk a war with America. America by this point is a rising industrial behemoth and is capable of fighting toe to toe with most European powers.

I don't see the risk-reward ratio favoring either of you. If Denmark is foolish enough to declare war on America, the US would sooner seize Danish possessions in the Caribbean with gusto I'd imagine. And if Haiti a commie state fought alongside Denmark then say buh-bye to your communist dream.
