Name/Alias: Katana/Tatsu Yamashiro
Age: 21
Gender: Female
Appearance:(Image)
Personality: Rough, Brutal, Angry
Faction: Followers of the Hood
Race: Human
Backstory: Tatsu Yamashiro’s parents were soldiers in the Japanese army who were disillusioned by the rampant corruption in the Japanese military. The two became whistleblowers, leaking information to the world about Japan’s military operations. The two were found by their own comrades in arms, who intended to murder the entire family for their findings. Tatsu, desperate to defend herself, ran upstairs to her attic where she found two old swords, thus discovering her ancestors’ samurai history. What she didn’t know about immediately was the mystical power of the swords. After killing Tatsu’s mother, the soldiers pursued her father, who ran up to the attic and begged Tatsu to kill him. The scared 10 year old did as he said. The men found her. Tatsu started hearing instructions come to her in a whispering voice...from the swords. It was her father’s voice. Under his guidance, Tatsu managed to kill some of the soldiers and escape through the window. She thus discovered the soul-capturing abilities of the swords. She shed her identity of Tatsu Yamashiro, instead taking up the moniker “Katana.”
Katana fled to America, knowing that the Japanese military would look for her. She landed up in Gotham, where she was found homeless on the streets of Gotham defending herself with her swords. Batman prevented her from killing a man. He decided to train the young girl extensively. The teenager soon became part of Batman’s private black ops team. She practically worshipped him, and struck up friendships with other members of the Batfamily. Katana was particularly close to Barbara Gordon and Tim Drake. When Batman left and Tim started to lead the new Disciples, Katana wasn’t hesitant to join. But, as time wore on, she found the Disciples to be ineffective. They hardly ever stopped crime, and she felt that they weren’t committed to preserving justice. She particularly disliked their hesitance to kill in order to serve the greater good. In frustration, Katana sadly left the team and joined the anti hero team, The Followers of the Hood.
Powers/Weapons/Tech:
- Soul-taking swords: Katana’s swords capture the souls that they kill, and Katana is able to communicate with the dead souls she has take.
- Master of martial arts: From a young age, Katana was a black belt in Karate. Batman trained her extensively in several more martial arts.
Weaknesses: Katana has a kind of superiority complex. When she’s being badly beaten in battle, she tends to get extremely demoralized and distracted, causing her to soon lose concentration completely.
Skills: Bilingual: Knows fluent Japanese and English.
RP Examples: No

Voice Actor: Demi Moore

I thought your last post for Rashida put a nice concluding cap on that scene. But sure, I can pick it up. I do need someone to pick up that phone in the penny arcade though. It's very important plotwise. Now that Ameri's dropped out, did you want to have Hatter do it?

So, the cop asking Coyne whether he could have his son's birthday party at the arcade free of charge would be out of the question?

-Crimson (He will be replaced)
-Phantom (May come back)
-Crooked Man (Retired permanently. I can’t think of any story arc where he could possibly fit, or even in a one off encounter with a character.)
