Vic is going to release some information detailing the animal disappearances as well as information that you did indeed hire an AI programmer who mysteriously disappeared. Nothing that would hurt your image or that you couldn't defend. The GCPD isn't going to arrest you the next time you come out of your house. :p

Oops.

I just had less frame you and police are headed you way.

And you life's work online is gone.

:meh:

Ya know, it might be fun if Ruth got arrested and had like a lawyer who was seriously OP'd in like the law defending her.

Okay, so two options:
Change that so that the IC is not an oops.
or
The evidence is even more incriminating, and I show it to the police who immediately go to arrest you.

I go with option two. It would be really interesting storywise if Ruth had to face some adversity and hardship *thinks*

It's gotta be a reference though... She hires Matlock or something.

Also, it is not like my guy printed out millions of fliers to hand out.

He works at a news company, figure out his method from there.

Yes! Either the best damn lawyer in the world or the worst damn lawyer in the world like Louis in Ghostbusters 2!

I'm okay with incriminating, because I have the best lawyer of all time . . .

Ganz, of Broderick & Ganz! He doesn't have any kidneys, but he has a lot of heart!

I don't know about you, but Ruth can afford bail and has connections. Only a well trained hero *cough*Batman*cough* is going to take her down.

It's fine, it's fine. Like when she says that she killed 200 people, I take that as teenaged hyperbole, not literal truth.

She's a young woman who has gained superpowers within a matter of days and is now beatings ten or hundreds of highly-trained people in fights despite having no real fighting abilities. Also, like zero weaknesses.

Too late to change anything by buying it.

You won't be getting bail after this. The only way to take down an OP power gamer is to use OP power gamer tactics.

(Because seriously, your characters are way OP and extremely power gamey)

Like I said, I don't take Syd's posts as the literal truth. They're more like flights of fancy from an overactive teen mind. So, she really didn't defeat hundreds of assailants, more like a handful or whatever.

Okay, seriously, Auphelia and Tam, we need to take a pause and work something out here. I'm really not comfortable with Ruth's last post because I feel it's forcing too many reactions and insisting on a course of action entirely favorable to Ruth.

I am trying to lead down a path that leads to her . . . well, you know how Bond villains always go out with a bang?

The stakes need to escalate for that to happen.

I'm thinking volcanoes, dinosaur escapes, helicopter chases, some twin action . . . yeah. That sounds good.

But in order to get there, you're railroading over everything Vic is doing which is really not fair and really doesn't help the story either.

See ultimately, I'm going to position myself to be in a conflict with her but I don't want to discuss it yet because of spoilers.

Doesn't mean you can just powergame and make your character be the best at everything and infallible. Flaws are part of an interesting character.

Hm . . . I guess I am just really looking forward to the dinosaurs and explosions and secret twins and possibly evil AI drone army and the sunken islands and I have too many machinations in work that will lead to the downfall of The Queen.

See, you can't do that. You have to respect the abilities and actions of the other characters. Believe me, A, I've been in your exact position. Having everything mapped out because I came up with this awesome endgame but I've found that it's better, a whole lot better, if I let unexpected setbacks happen and use that as a springboard to take me down an entirely different path I would have never thought of on my own.

I suppose.

*blows up the volcano on the dinosaur island with the drone army attacking The Queen's final forces without The Queen there to explode with the rest of her life's work*

This feels weird.
