It is the year 3250 C.E, and the chains of oppression reach far across the Orthion System.

The mighty Vendouri Empire continues it's subjugation of the system and it's peoples, as it has for forty years now, since the fall of the Orthion Union.

For forty years the Vendouri have been tightly gripping the throat of the entire galaxy, stripping it's peoples of their wealth, rights, and their very dignity. They have oppressed the people while they literally rape the worlds of the system, stealing away untold amounts of resources and wealth and leaving behind nothing but poverty and despair.

Those who oppose the Vendouri, be it verbally or physically, are executed, and their families enslaved.
The separate governments and states can do nothing but watch as their people suffer and the different planets all become barren and empty.

The injustice is spread far and wide, as there is literally no one in the entire system that does not face the unfairness of Vendouri overrule in some form or another.

As the cruelty thickens and the injustice continues, the feelings of despair turn to bitterness and resentment, which can give breed to thoughts of rebellion.

Soon, very soon, the Vendouri Empire could be facing an uprising like none they have seen before. All that is needed, is a spark...

THE GREAT WAR / THE VENDOURI-ORTHION WAR

The Vendouri Empire was first encountered forty-three years ago (3207 C.E) along the fringes of the Unknown Regions, at the edge of Orthion System.

A single Vendouri military frigate made contact with a Union exploration vessel on an official mission into the Unknown Regions.
The Union ship attempted to hail the Vendouri frigate, and was instead met with an immediate barrage of laser fire. The weaker Union exploration ship managed to escape, though it suffered heavy damage and several casualties.

No sooner than the Union High Council was informed of this, a massive Vendouri armada broke into Union space. A huge masse of warships of varying size and ability.

The Vendouri fleet broke into two separate fleets, the larger fleet immediately engaged the closest Union fleet, while the smaller fleet lay siege to the Terran planet of Vagner, along the edges of Union space.
Vagner's surface was razed by the bombarding fleet, and over fifty percent of the planetary population was killed, with the remaining population being slaughtered by Vendouri landing parties.

Meanwhile, out in space, the Vendouri engagement fleet had already destroyed two Union fleets and a Union space outpost.

The Vendouri offensive came to an immediate halt, and remained stationary for a month as the Vendouri set up a command post and orbital staging positions over the now dead world of Vagner.
Meanwhile, the Union was conscripting new recruits and militia enmasse from it's core worlds, and was mass producing naval units and other weapons of war.
During this one month period of "silence", a reinforcing fleet emerged from the Unknown Regions and further strengthened the Vendouri offensive.

After one month, the fighting resumed, and the conflict itself would last for two full years.

In 3209, just after the first of the year, the Union had lost roughly nine-hundred starships of all classes, while the Vendouri Empire had lost around seven-hundred. The Union had also lost well over a dozen orbital stations and outposts. The Vendouri had also accosted the Union of four separate worlds in this time, completely decimating two of them as they had Vagner and conquering and subjugating the other two.
While Zakuul and Sarvoc were both razed and left as dead worlds, Hylose and Eratthur were both conquered and enslaved beneath Vendouri rule. Hylose proved an invaluable asset for the Vendouri war machine because of it's heavy and diverse metal deposits and the booming mining industry, while Eratthur proved to be an invaluable staging position against Arenior, the home world and founding place of the Union centuries ago.

Seeing a key opportunity to end the war and render the entire system helpless, the Vendouri navy presence in Orthion drew itself together into an amassed fleet of around eight-hundred ships and launched a blitzing attack against Arenior.

However, the Union had foresaw this when back when Eratthur was first besieged, and had constructed a massive structural defensive position around Arenior, which was supported by around four-hundred ships, the last of the ships the Union could spare.



The battle raged on for nearly a day's time.
Despite their best efforts, the Union's orbital line was broken by the Vendouri juggernaut, and while their remaining ships and orbital positions were engaged and destroyed by the Vendouri supporting ships, the Vendouri capital ships bombarded and battered the Arenior's planetary surface. Cities came crumbling down enmasse and people cried and fled from the Vendouri landing armies. The vengeful Vendouri soldiers committed an array of atrocities across the planet, they sacked, slaughtered, raped, and burned their way across the innocent world.

The Union Council Estate and Council Forum were looted and destroyed, and the councilmen and their families were beaten and killed brutally.

As the last of the Union's navy was destroyed in space, the Vendouri withdrew from Arenior, leaving behind nothing but a bone and wreckage littered skeleton of a planet, which still sits abandoned and broken to this day, as a symbol of the fate of those who defy the Vendouri Empire.

THE SURRENDER OF THE UNION AND THE POST WAR PERIOD

With the last of the Orthion Union Navy destroyed, the capital Arenior purged, and the Council dead, the Vendouri Empire reached out to the now fractured and disunited worlds and organized a combined truce with the separate planetary and government leaders.

The Vendouri forced a treaty that was blatantly unfair and took total advantage of the weakened worlds of Orthion, though the government leaders had little choice but to accept, for fear of total annihilation.

The treaty is officially called The Orthion Sanction, and was more of a list of Vendouri demands rather than a peace treaty. The demands were as follows;

•A tribute of 20% of every raw natural resource mined, gathered, and-or scavenged from the planet every month, collected via a Vendouri civil model freighter which is to be met in orbit.

•Ten percent of all domestic trade income and off-world trade income is to be taxed and the taxation funds are to be wired to the local Overlord.

•Complete disbandment of any remnants of the Orthion Union, including warships, military installations, units, command chains, designs, garments, symbols, and so on.

•Every individual planet was to reduce it's armies and navy down to a mere fraction, just enough to maintain civil control.

•Every worlds' unique native currency(s) was replaced by the Vendouri "Imperial Credit".

•A Vendouri Imperial Star Castle was constructed in orbit over every planet. This is where the Vendouri Overlords and their retinue and garrison would be stationed while overseeing each planet, to ensure lawfulness and to intervene in government or civil affairs if need be.

•Vendouri Inquisitors have free reign of all territories and property in the Orthion System, be it planets, planetoids, or civil or military stations and craft. This is to root out any thoughts of dissent amongst the populaces.


The treaty was confirmed and immediately after the Vendouri oppression of the Orthion System began. Those who would speak out against the Vendouri Empire were tried and publicly executed. For the first two to three years of Vendouri overrule, mass executions regularly occurred, those executed ranging from farmers to global delegates to military leaders.

After around five years of brutality, the many worlds of Orthion began to quell their harsh feelings, or at least remain silent about them, and soon, slowly but surely, a kind of "acceptance" or "submission" to Vendouri rulership came to fruition.

This of course, would not last.

THE AU'TORI

The Au'tori.

They are a an ethereal race of humanoids from the Aldmar System, hailing from the massive Terran world of Lorthos, the heart of the Vendouri Empire, which was founded just short of seven hundred years ago, and has been an empire of conquest and expansion ever since it's first founding.

The Au'tori are notable and recognizable by several different traits, these being being things such as; their Snow White skin and hair, their pointed ears, the strange elegance that they all seem to possess, and their height. The average Au'tori stands around 6'3", with the shortest known Au'tori known to sand at six feet exactly, while the tallest known Au'tori have stood around 6'5".

There is no known height differentiation between Au'tori males and females, they all share the same possibility in height.

The average lifespan for a healthy Au'tori is seventy to ninety years give it take, though it is not uncommon for one to reach a hundred or older.

They are a very slender people, with a wiry yet lean skeletal frame.
Despite their petite body frame, a physically able Au'tori can prove to be very reflexive and quick, and can prove to be quite strong in intense situations.
While they do not possess "superhuman" abilities, they are known to be very athletic and physically capable. Only a human in excellent physical condition can hope to match a capable Au'tori in physical combat.



The Au'tori are also known to be very intelligent, and take academics very seriously, everything ranging from sciences to history and so forth.
Even the more militaristic Au'tori see great importance in academics and knowledge.
It is not uncommon at all to find an Au'tori soldier reading through a book or a holo-record during his personal time.

The Au'tori are also known as a very elitist and prejudiced race, viewing other races and humanoid species as inferior and only deserving of life so to serve them.
The core worlds of the Vendouri Empire in fact have no racial diversity whatsoever, and only the Au'tori are allowed to dwell on them, or even visit them.

While the Au'tori are in many cases tolerant of other races, they are also very intolerant in other cases.
In fact, amongst the Au'tori themselves, they all know that the only reason they spared the human peoples of the Orthion System is for subjugation and forced labor. Many amongst the higher ranks of the Vendouri Empire would relish the idea of purging the humans of the Orthion System and making it a purely Au'tori region.

Such violent prejudice and elitist ideals is what has lead many races that the Vendouri have conquered to fear them, for they fear that one day the Vendouri Emperor will give the order from Lorthos to "purify the Empire".

Also, there is a rumored belief amongst many that certain members amongst the Au'tori race have mental powers, such as psychic mind reading, telekinesis, and can predict and envision the future.
This of course has never been confirmed nor disproven, and what few that bravely approach an Au'tori with this question have always been sent away or denied a response.




While there is much about the Au'tori that is both known and unknown, one thing is certain; they are a people of war and conquest and hold deep prejudice and have no empathy for those not of their own.

THE VENDOURI EMPIRE

Since it was first founded seven hundred years ago, the Vendouri Empire has been a militaristic authoritarian state of war, conquest, and subjugation.

By the calendar system of Orthion, the Vendouri Empire was founded around 2500 C.E, but by the Au'tori calendar, the founding of the Empire started a new era, hence, by their calendar, the current date is 705 I.A (Imperial Age) .

The Empire originated on the Au'tori home world of Lorthos, when Anconias Vendouri united the world under his banner, and forged a new era for the Au'tori race.



Seven hundred years later, the Vendouri Empire spans over a hundred or more planets across countless systems, all of which have been subjugated by the superior might of the Vendouri Military. All the while the Imperial throne has remained pure, with every conquest made by the Vendouri being at the hands of a descendant of Anconias Vendouri, proving to many the power and resolve of the Vendouri bloodline.



The current Emperor, Calzar Vendouri, believes the Vendouri Empire to be at it's height of glory, and claiming the conquest of Orthion to be one of its greatest campaigns within the last century.
(This is skeptical though, compared to the Vendouri conquest of the Naulan System sixty years prior to the subjugation of Orthion.)

The Vendouri Empire's army and navy are seemingly infinite to many, though this is not true of course.

Current estimations show the Vendouri navy at 3,000 starships of assorted classes, while their standing army is estimated at several billion. (Take note that not every planet that is under their control has an established garrison at all times. In fact many planets under Vendouri rule have no Vendouri presence at all aside from the planetary overlord and his personal detachment and retinue.)

As the Vendouri Empire continues to grow and expand, it will soon find it's military and other assets spread then, which can be proven to be dangerous, as a state that is too large can become too difficult to manage, and could very well tear itself apart beneath it's own weight.

FORTY YEARS LATER (YOUR WORLD)(OOC)

As a player, you will create your own planet with a stable, unified government.

As the story states, your planet, a world in the Orthion System, lives under the authoritarian rule of the Vendouri Empire, and has done so for forty years now. Ever since the signing of The Orthion Sanction.

This "treaty" for the most part has negatively impacted your planet in more ways than one.

The taxation on trade and the heavy "resource tax" has crippled your economy through the decades now, and has lead to elevated prices and not to mention a heavy strain on your planet's resource supplement.
The demanded reduction of your planet's military has made security harder, and things such as major crime and insurgency are a constant potential threat.
Poverty is on the rise due to your faltering economy, and resentment for the Vendouri Empire is on the heavy incline on your world.

Imperial Inquisitors regularly make arrests and execute citizens on your world for vocal or even suspected dissentient words against the Vendouri.

Soon you will be facing troubles such as protests, mass riots, and even a potential civil war.

It has become clear to both your government and other planetary governments that the Vendouri are not but a leeching parasite that is draining the worlds of Orthion and is leaving them spent and impoverished.

It is up to you and the other worldly leaders to make your decision on what to do.

A decision that must be made sooner rather than later.


Please note that there are multiple ways of getting the full experience out of this Roleplay. It is not just a "rise and rebel" play-through.
You can also forge distinct and unique deals with other worlds, engage in the political and economic issues, and face down your world' sown distinct issues and trials.

Ultimately, if an open rebellion against the Vendouri breaks out, you can choose a side, remain neutral, or become your own rogue world outside of rebel and Vendouri claim.

The ultimate fate and choices of your world are yours.

The Military is Consisted of 4 main branches: The Baron's Guard(the elite force), The Anoria Military (standard), The Anorian Enforcement(Civil Guard/Military Police), and The Anorian Volunteers(conscripts). This is included alongside a range of vehicles such as tanks, APCs, Armoured Cars, and a planetary air force.

The Navy is consisted of a planetary defence force, focused around "The Ixian Pride"[/url] the personal capital ship of the Grand Baron as well as several smaller ships to aid it, not limited to cruisers, gunships, and frigates

Anoria's Surface:


For 10 generations the Ixia Family have claimed Anoria as their place of rulership. Holding the titles of "Grand Baron" these, quite brutal, leaders have guided the planet through thick and thin. Seemingly regardless of what is going on around them. Brutal conditions have made life outside the creatively named Colony Zero incredibly brutal, although the general situation seems to be improving, slowly but surely. Mainly coming from the better understanding of the planet's natural history

Community on Adoria (just without the Chinese)

However, vassalage to the Vendouri meant a secured leadership, and attempted rebellions had been crushed with their aid. This did not come without consequence however, the people saw the Barons as sellouts, giving their natural resources away at reduced rates.

This, over time resulted in the wide spread civil unrest that plagues the planet to date, with the Vendouri starting to care less and less about their Nuclear Breadbasket per say. Around 3 years ago the last baron, Ixia VII was assassinated in his personal estate on the capital, and with his young son in power, things are set to change. He may be a bit strange, and perhaps even more brutal than his father, but his public opinion to the Vendouri seems to be less favourable than the others.

Just pointing out that a 69k km radius planet that appears like it's supposed to be a rocky ice world would not be hospitable to humans or probably anything. The largest rocky, earth-like planet around is Kepler 10c, which is about 2.5x the size of Earth in radius, and 17 times it's mass.

The gravity on the surface of Kepler 10c is about 3.1 Gs.

Seeing as how your planet has a defined surface (which gas giants, like Jupiter, who is about as large as your planet do not have), this would mean you have a rocky world. This means you have a planet 10x the radius of Earth, which is a rocky planet, meaning high density.

This essentially means that the gravity on the surface of this planet would, just ball-parking a guess here, would be 8G, at a very very generous minimum, and more likely around 10-12 G. Someone like me on your planet would weigh 1700 pounds, or 770 kilograms.

So, yeah, it'd kill everybody XD
Even if that didn't kill them, that much atmosphere would have an insane air pressure. Mind you, on Earth, right now, you have about ~1ton of air resting on your shoulders.

I hope you didn't skip leg day! Or back day, or arm day, or every muscle and bone ever day. Also don't forget how difficult it would be to build on a planet like this either. If you survive the gravity, the air pressure, assuming the atmosphere is breathable, then survive the nightmarish storms that must be present on this thing, good luck building a house! Imagine if the Empire State Building suddenly weighed 10x more than it does. The thing would collapse!

MILITARY AND NAVY INFORMATION
The backbone of the military is composed of a volunteer force of professional infantry. Their main role is to act as a garrison force to deter outside invasion and they are aided in this role by a large forces of tanks, APCs, scout cars, IFVs, and others. A sizable air-force also patrol's the planet's skies. Finally, the Support Corps are responsible for all the miscellaneous tasks you can think of including but not limited to: cooks, clerks, doctors, engineers, technicians, repairmen, etc.

The Royal Navy's main duty is to act as an orbital defense force. It consists of 2 battleships, 8 cruisers, 12 destroyers, and 14 corvettes.

PLANET SIZE/MEASUREMENTS: Roughly as large as earth

PLANETARY WEATHER AND CLIMATES: The weather on Maliwan generally resembles earth, however one major difference is the general lack of much rain pn the planet, despite the oceans that Maliwan has, rain only comes in certain seasons which does help with crop growth.

MOONS:
-Seraph Prime: A desert world that looks whitish gold when viewed from Maliwan, the moon itself is a trading point that Maliwan currently holds as a hidden base that Maliwan used as a minor anchorage before the occupation, now desolate and empty as the Maliwan government 'deports' suspected dissenters to the moon.

-Sephia Nexus: A major moon that Maliwan has great investments in, Sephia Nexus is a desolate ice world partially mixed with some volcanic regions, both sides however remain clearly divided. Maliwan has invested heavily in the moon, as it is the main location as to where most factories and industries are located primarily because of the heat from volcanic regions that help to power the factories and the fact that Maliwan itself is primarily used for agricultural purposes.

PLANET SIZE/MEASUREMENTS: 16.5 billion square miles (surface area), 240 thousand miles (circumference)

PLANETARY WEATHER AND CLIMATES: In respect to weather, Locke is a gentle giant. The surface has been spared the storms that often ravage similar planets. Average temperatures rest around -178 degrees, perfectly average for a gas-based planet like Locke. Obviously, life is non-existent on the planet's surface, however small colonies of human-introduced tardigrades have managed to survive in and around the planet's rings.

MOONS: Locke has no major satellites.

MOST ABUNDANT PLANETARY RESOURCES: Locke was one of Orthion's major providers of non-nuclear power, primarily in the form of hydrogen fuel cells and similar products. These items were quickly outdated by more advanced Vendouri methods, but remain much more affordable and accessible to an aspiring space-captain then the aforementioned Vendouri tech. Besides fuel, ice is mined en-masse from Locke's rings.

SCARCEST PLANETARY RESOURCES: When building what amounts to a glorified space station, food will always be a problem. Hydroponics will only take you so far. Dirt and manure are widely sought goods.

MILITARY AND NAVY INFORMATION Locke maintains a quite small number of infantry units, preferring to either supplement them with support remotely-controlled units. The number of actual conscripts is maintained around 10,000. Obviously, traditional infantry units are useless in a vacuum, therefore a significantly larger portion of the army finds itself in the marine arm. Being that the entirety of Locke's inhabitants live on a series of increasingly complex and intertwined platforms loosely held by gravity to Locke itself, the vacuum plays a more important role in Locke's defense then your average terrestrial planet. Both marine and army units are held to a high standard, due to their low quantity. Typical firearms are Gauss-based, sporting magazine capacities between 30 and 100 rounds. Traditional firearms are discouraged, due to the amount of explosive elements in and around the station and their complex ammunition. A marine's coil-gun is designed to fire anything magnetic that can be crammed in the barrel. While manufactured rounds are provided, soldiers are encouraged to use anything from debris to silverware to defend themselves. As a side effect, training costs of new recruits plummeted due to the use of recycled goods during the training process. Heavier weapons are often beam-based, burning a consistent, highly focused laser into the intended target. Explosive weapons are present, however they are often no used for fear of excessive property damage.

Marine hardsuits are similar to their EVA suit counterparts, except that they are manufactured from a puncture-resistant polymer, covered in a durable resin outer layer and reinforced with a set of high-tensile, low-weight ceramic plates. Mounted on the back, you can find a combat-jetpack, able to propel the marine in nearly any angle they choose, provided they are in a zero-g environment.

Hovercraft are commonplace, military variants are widely used. The most prevalent edition is the Aero 3 Mil-Bike, outfitted with a heavy coil-gun underneath the driver's seat and capable of take-off in as little as 5 seconds. Navy Pilots can usually be found flying in one of the highly-modular AP VTOLs, lovingly called Platypuses by their flyers. Editions of the AP can be seen fulfilling many roles, though they are primarily used for troop transport and close air support. The AP is capable of spaceflight, however its small size does not lend itself well for prolonged expeditions.

Larger navy vessels are mainly of the Unity line. Primarily nuclear powered and armed to the teeth, a standard Unity cruiser is a formidably opponent. A variety of ballistic CIWS, frontal beam projectors and salvos of ordinance would test any pirate's courage. However, they are not the crowning feature of the ship, the prod is. A modern ramming weapon, the prod is wrapped in kinetic shielding and used to deliver a tip which is changed dependent on the situation. A tip with extra shielding could simply be used as a wedge to tear an enemy ship apart, or a tunnel to deliver boarders, or if Locke is desperate enough, even to directly deliver a nuclear warhead.

PLANET NAME: Aurora

PLANET CLASS: Ice World

PLANET SIZE/MEASUREMENTS: 3,410km radius, hydrostatic equilibrium

PLANETARY WEATHER AND CLIMATES: The only planet of a class K single star system and lacking significant natural heat sources, whether they be radioactivity or sunlight, Aurora does possess a nitrogen atmosphere, although not one thick enough to sustain unstable climatic activity. Despite the planet possessing a considerable hydrosphere, it is largely inert, due to the aforementioned lack of atmosphere as well as the bitter cold.

MOONS: From the closest orbit outwards, the natural satellites of Aurora are named Hyperion, Superior, and Skyreach. Their radii are 144km, 362km, and 78km respectively, and are all largely barren rock worlds insufficiently large to be in hydrostatic equilibrium or to possess significant atmospheres. The moons are in a 4:2:1 orbital resonance, with a semi-major axis of 211,000km, 336,000km, and 535,000km respectively, and their orbital planes are aligned.

MOST ABUNDANT PLANETARY RESOURCES: Aurora possesses, as an ice planet, a tremendous amount of water. The ice also contains carbon dioxide, nitrogen, methane, tholins, and various more volatile compounds. Those parts of the surface where the ice is not present, or is very thin, show a surface consisting of silicate rock. The most valuable resource possessed by the Republic of Aurora are not these natural features of the planet, however, but the Republic's abundant supply of highly educated minds. The University of Aurora, which is larger than the Republic's government itself and maintains strong influences over Auroran politics and society, is at the cutting edge of theoretical science and engineering in all of former Union space.

SCARCEST PLANETARY RESOURCES: Aurora is extremely poor in natural resources, with the exception of its abundant ices. The planet's surface is composed almost entirely of ice, with the remainder being silicate rock. Any heavy metals in the planet are in the core, far away from any mining activity. The planet does not contain a natural biosphere that can be harvested, nor does it receive significant sunlight or possess radioactive elements, being dependent on chemical synthesis of its ices for its food and commercial energy supplies.

CURRENT POPULATION COUNT: The population of Aurora and its moons is 276 millions, concentrated in the quarter of the planet that is not covered in ices.

Although, two centuries after its initial settlement, most of the population of Aurora no longer work for the University of Aurora, the academic and scientific customs and traditions continue to rule over the fledging Republic.

GOVERNMENT BANNER: The civil and national flag of the Republic of Aurora is a rectangle with a 5:8 ratio between height and width. A sharp and thick golden gear with twelve teeth dominates the centre of the otherwise plain red banner.

ECONOMIC STANDING: Sustained. Compared to the rest of the Empire, incomes are very high in Aurora, but then so are the prices.

GOVERNMENT DISPOSITION TOWARD VENDOURI RULERSHIP: Tolerant. The leadership of the Republic of Aurora is largely outraged at the actions of the Vendouri, but find it largely necessary to continue their co-operative relationship considering the Republic's considerable dependence on the Vendouri for security and scientific funding.

POPULATION DISPOSITION TOWARD VENDOURI RULERSHIP: Positive. The Republic of Aurora is one of the few places in the former union where the economic situation has distinctly improved since the Vendouri takeover. The highly academic regime of the Au'tori people have proven themselves to be far more interested in funding abstract scientific pursuits than the previous human government of the Union ever was. The suppression of civil and political rights customary to the Republic, however, has proven themselves relatively unpopular.

CURRENT GLOBAL ISSUES:
•Resource Shortages. Aurora is not and has never been a particularly resourceful planet, and is reliant on trade and foreign support to continue supplying its fledging economy with the necessary natural resources.
•Pirate Harassment of Trade. The disbandment of the Union military has made it much more difficult for Auroran authorities to securely maintain the lifelines that connect the vulnerable Auroran industry and population to the rest of known space.

MILITARY AND NAVY INFORMATION Although Aurora does possess a considerable paramilitary police force that maintains an iron grip on security within the planet's population, it is not exactly military in nature, and is only used for internal security needs. The Republic's foreign defence needs are instead met by the only significant fully military organisation on the planet: Campus Security of the University of Aurora. The defensive capabilities of the Republic of Aurora and its subsidiaries are not only substantially larger than is typical for a planet of its economic size, but can also compete with planets with several times its manpower and naval tonnage based on the technological superiority of Campus Security and the brilliance of those who support it.
