Ma'harr
Image

Race: Khajiit
Gender/Sex: Male/Male
Age: 28
Class: Thief
Equipment: Light leather armour, scimitar, dagger, rucksack with supplies, rope, maps, some gold, a notebook, a couple of history books
Skills: Ma’harr is knowledgeable in the ways of ‘archaeology’, what locals usually call ‘grave robbing’. He has a good knowledge of the lore of the places he visits, especially concerning old magic artefacts. On top of that, Ma’harr is a salesperson, knowing where to get the best price for his goods. He can spin mighty tales only partially grounded in reality. Most of all, he knows how not to be spotted. In the past, he has had to avoid ancient cults on numerous occasions, and being threatened with sacrifice to a Daedric prince makes one sneaky and stealthy.
Weaknesses: Ma’harr isn’t much of a fighter in fair combat. The scimitar is mostly to scare people off, and if someone really needs to die he can get the kill in with stealth and a quick dagger. In fair combat, he will mostly be far outside his league save for the most impotent of peasants. Ma’harr also has a spending problem, usually giving away most of his gold on food, company and drink, which is why he still hasn’t settled after numerous misadventures with pricey artefacts.
Bio: Being a Khajiit in Elsweyr is hard work. Being a Khajiit elsewhere is even harder still. Ma’harr was born in a litter of nine in Sentinel, Hammerfell. It was very hard for the family to come by. His father was an innkeeper, which should have been a profitable business, but constant run-ins with racist and corrupt city officials rendered most of the profits moot. The inn was also regularly trashed, meaning there was little food on the table every day. Necessity drove the family to desperation. At first, it was simple trickery. Doing some acrobatics in the centre of the inn while the others nicked purses and such. Later, the intrigue became more adept, more complex. Ma’harr, who liked drawing and telling stories, made fake maps to sell to unsuspecting adventurers. These were unconvincing at the start, only tricking the most green and misguided of adventurers, but later they would grow to be hardly discernable from the real deal. Ma’harr would steal books from the local libraries in order to gain knowledge of lost treasures, tempting even the most hardened of scholars. How could this Khajiit child know of such secrets, after all?

In the end, it could not continue like that. Ma’harr flew to close to the sun, tricked a few people that were just too well-connected to trick. As he became older, the mouths became harder to feed. There was no room for more labouring hands in the inn, and the illegal activities were garnering attention. So, Ma’Harr and a few of his siblings decided to head off. It would save their family some expense, and they could send money back once they had settled. At first they travelled together for a few years, but one by one, the siblings left. One of them fell to Skooma in Cyrodiil, one started an inn in Whiterun. A brother and a sister stayed behind in Elsweyr, which they branded as their home country. In the end, only Ma’harr stayed behind, travelling the lands on his own. That was, until he met the high elf Erisussa Korus.

Korus was a mage traveling Cyrodiil from the Summerset Isles in search of knowledge. Her story was long and fascinating, but it sufficed to say she had a particular interest in ancient knowledge. Ma’harr and she met in an inn in Morrowind, where she was looking for companions to help her excavate an old tomb. Naturally, Ma’harr was intrigued. Partially because of the gold she offered, which was quite an amount, but mostly because of the excavation. The tomb Korus wanted to visit was rumoured to contain the Vase of Oblivion, a powerful mystical artefact that could help in the creation of soul gems. Ma’harr agreed, and the two were inseparable afterwards. They learned a lot from one another, and made quite a bit of money in the process. They became good friends, sharing in celebration every time they had found a new clue.

Nothing was to last, however. Eventually, their curiosity took them too far. A mythical spear was said to be contained in the Black Marsh, and Ma’harr and Korus set off to find it. They began with a caravan of 30, but that soon dwindled to 8 due to various reasons endemic to the Black Marsh. That group then diminished to 4, and then down to just Ma’harr and Korus. Eventually, with no end to their quest in sight, they decided to head back the way they came. A single sting from a poisonous insect was enough to do Korus in, however. She died three days later, in agonising pain and held firmly by Ma’harr. He had to leave her, there was no time to bury. Since then, Ma’harr has been traveling alone.

A few months later, Ma’harr found himself in Skyrim, searching for the legendary Labyrinthium. Great artefacts were said to be contained within, like the Staff of Magnus and other Dwemer creations. Ma’harr never even got inside the old Labyrinth, though. The threat of Cyrodill descending into civil war brings both opportunity and danger with it. On one hand, the civil disobedience might give rise to opportunities. Crypts will be left unguarded, perhaps, and more people will be willing to help him down a cavern for a bit of coin. Also, his family will probably need protecting in the future, and he is looking for ways to get them out of the city and to somewhere safe, like the Khajit homeland. However, he will need money to accomplish these goals.

Likes: Gold, good food, good friends, good company, history and lore, the chase, his family back home
Dislikes: Imperial entanglements, racism towards Khajiit, superstitious locals, locals in general, people who take the moral high ground, people who underestimate his intelligence, the power hungry

Changed it into the Summerset Isles! She now no longer travelled for the Aldmeri, but from Summerset. That should do the trick.

Did some spellchecking, and the IC Thread is ready to go! I'll put it up once there's one or two (accepted) apps up. No hurry and no worries for those that haven't yet, by then - this thing likely won't be "closed" at any point whatsoever, so yay

Emrys “Wolf of High Rock” Dor Gwyr
Image

Race: Breton
Gender/Sex: Male
Class: Knight
Equipment: Rusty Steel Longsword, Assorted Pieces of Armor, and a few personal items
Skills:
Blade
Block
Blunt
Hand-to-Hand
Heavy Armor
Illusion
Speechcraft

Weaknesses: Emrys has never been good with a bow, sneaking, or using any other type of magic besides the school of Illusion. He's also deficient in the usage of short swords and daggers, always having preferred to train with long sword or blunt weaponry. Additionally, after his betrayal at the hands of one of his own, its unlikely Emrys will ever trust anyone again.

Bio: There are many stories regarding where the legendary Wolf of High Rock actually came from. Some say he emerged from the frigid wastes of Atmora to the north, others claim he came from mysterious lands to the west upon a ship of gold. Despite all the stories, the truth is far more mundane. Emrys was indeed born in the north, but far from the Atmora, in a small village in the duchy of Nimbal.

As was common in Nimbal, Emrys was orphaned shortly after birth. He was handed over to the priesthood, so that he, much like other orphans may be brought up in the light of the Nine Divines. Emrys grew to be tall, and broad of shoulder. His golden locks, and strong jaw sent many a maiden swooning. His voice was almost like that of a god’s; soothing as a snake, and commanding as a drill sergeant, leading the other orphans as effortlessly as a bird flies. It seemed clear enough to the local clergy that his destiny was being crafted by the Divines themselves.

What was certain to the priests was Emrys’ destiny did not lie in their small insignificant town. Young Emrys was destined for greater things. Emrys was sent away to nearby Jehanna, where he could be given a proper education. Shortly after his arrival it was discovered that Emrys had an aptitude for magic, and shortly began training under a local mage. However, the clergy also saw fit for Emrys to also train with the sword. He quickly began to excel in both pursuits, it was as if the sword was an extension of Emrys’ arm, and magic was made for Emrys to use. Emrys was particularly gifted with the Illusion school of magic.

It wasn’t long before Emrys was a man grown. Having grown up on tales of Pelinal Whitestrake and the Knights of the Nine, he decided his talent would best be spent in the service of one of the Knightly orders of High Rock. In the end, he would be initiated into the Knights of the Rose, headquartered at Wayrest. Emrys’ rise to the rank of Chevalier was meteoric, and despite his natural talent he garnered plenty of enemies along the way.

Emrys soon found his greatest rival to be that of Eogan ap Cathilwyd, a Knight Brother with a powerful family name. The Cathilwyds were an influential family within Wayrest, and Emrys found Eogan to represent the worst of the Order. Unfortunately for Emrys, Eogan’s father was also a patron of the Order making his situation doubly difficult. For several years their mutual hatred resulted in a number of close calls with expulsion from the Order, but between Emrys’ wit and Eogan’s father they both managed to get by by the skin of their teeth. By the time Emrys reached Knight Brother his and Eogan’s feud was well known throughout Wayrest, and in the other Knightly Orders.

After a particularly nasty confrontation between the two, Eogan had finally had enough of Emrys. Taking his gauntlet and throwing it before Emrys, a duel was imminent. Early the next morning the two met in the courtyard of the order’s headquarters the two faced off. They were evenly matched, and the duel went on for what seemed like eternity, two juggernauts locked in single combat. In the end, Emrys mortally wounded young Eogan. After Eogan had died, his father used his influence to not only banish Emrys from the Knights of the Rose, but convinced the local constable to try Emrys for murder. Rather than stand trial, Emrys fled the city and was soon forced into banditry to make ends meet.

For nearly a decade, Emrys and his band of brigands would terrorize High Rock and occasionally the neighboring provinces. For the common folk, Emrys and his Knights were anti heroes, especially earlier in his career as a Bandit. For the rich and prosperous, Emrys was a devil that would haunt them for years to come. The notoriety that Emrys and his Knights experienced during their reign was immense, and by the time his Empire came crashing down he was known near and far as the Wolf of High Rock.

Eventually this notoriety caught up with Emrys. One of his own, Fionn Chulainn, was eventually the one that brought the mighty Emrys low. The rewards for Emrys’ capture or execution became so great that Fionn succumbed to his greed and turned Emrys and all the others into the authorities. Most of the Knights of Emrys were slain in the ambush that was set for them, but Emrys and a handful of others were captured. Emrys was first brought to the town of Dunlain, where he was kept for several months. During this time, Emrys and those of his band that remained were tortured brutally. Finally, Emrys and his men were to be transferred to Wayrest to be executed.

Along the way, Emrys and several of his men were able to escape from the prison cart. They made their way to Skyrim, all the while being chased by practically every guardsmen in the region. In the end, Emrys was the only one to make it over the mountains to relative safety. With revenge in his heart, Emrys has been wandering western Skyrim trying to stay out of trouble and find absolution. Emrys has managed to accomplish neither.

RP Sample: I believe we've met.

Anuara
Image

Race: banananananana bananananana CATMAN (Khajiit)
Gender/Sex: Female
Class: Rogue
Equipment: Full set of leather armor, ebony bow & arrows, poisons of damage health, steel dagger hidden inside of boot, claws, Candlelight, Magelight, Detect Life, Ironflesh
Skills:
Archery
Alteration
One-Handed
Stealth
Speech
Light Armor
Weaknesses: While Anuara always has a knife in her boot, she isn't the best with it; in hand to hand combat, she's not the best fighter. She's also limited by only knowing spells from Alteration; she doesn't know any others. She also has a hard time trusting anybody, given her former occupation as a contract killer.
Bio: She jumps from rooftop to rooftop, a bow and quiver on her back and her tail fluttering behind her in the wind. To anyone with an untrained eye, she would look like another thief in the Imperial Province. However, if anyone was paying attention, they would notice the arrow she pulls from her quiver. The way she nocks it. The way she sits so the moon doesn't show her silhouette. And the woman that just had a red stain engulf her chest. This was Anuara's practice; killing the innocent for her gain. But she didn't think about that; she just thought about the money.

Like most Khajiit in Cyrodiil, she was born to a poor family in a dirty hut with nobody caring for her. She was abandoned soon after she was born, so she grew up thieving pieces of bread from the markets and gold from the people that passed by; a living stereotype. However, unlike most Khajiit, she doesn't have the third-person language; being around people using the words "I" and "me" has an impact on the way someone talks. She still had the accent, of course, so if you were blind you could know what race she was. But if you looked at her writing, you wouldn't be able to tell cat from man.

She was introduced to the world of contract killing at the young age of 15; and she had a natural talent for it. Her first kill was an emaciated beggar that had been stealing from a noble; and he was paying a hefty sum of gold for his death. As soon as she released his fingers she felt bad for the man; he was trying to live in the harsh environment of the world like everybody else. But the amount of gold was nothing to scoff at; 5,000 drakes for a mans life was like a trillion drakes to her. As she killed more, she became known throughout Tamriel as the one to go to if you needed something taken care of with the Dark Brotherhood losing influence. She soon became one of the richest people in Cyrodiil, spending her gold on new fashion, new foods, new men, and of course, new weapons. She bought raw materials, and hooked a dagger sheath to her boot, putting her iconic steel dagger in it. Her bow was made of the finest ebony, and her arrows were fashioned to her specific, intricate designs. However, all good things must come to an end.

Just 3 years after she began her work, it came to an end when she was finally capture and arrested. She was held for 7 long years, until she bribed the guards to let her out; and she had to flee to the colder, northern region of Skyrim. But she was losing her edge; she became careless again, even though she was much more efficient than she was before. She was soon caught there as well, marking her return to Cyrodiil, as far away from the Jeralls as possible. People were bound to recognize her, but she turned a new leaf... or so they should hope.

A Khajiit jumps onto a rooftop.

Two things, really, off of the top of my head.

First, given that you seem to be new and thus not having an RP example is a given, we'd like to see your bio fleshed out a bit more to get a feel from what we should expect. While I'm not asking for a massive wall of text, a bit more would be nice. Perhaps detail more of her early life and how she became so adept with the bow and as a rouge in general. Or you can talk about her journey in Skyrim a bit more and just how exactly she was able to amass wealth. Heck, if nothing else add some more descriptive qualities of her appearance. Really, anything more is fine.

Second, and very minor, it's "Jarls" instead of "Jarrels".

I meant the Jerral mountains, minor misspelling. I'll try to flesh it out more. Thanks for the advice!
