All the required portions of my app are finished.

I know the military portion of my app is lacking, but I plan to expand on it in the future. Just wanted to get my app posted so I can start posting in the IC.

Generic Info
Nation Name: Domain of Perdiccas
Symbols: Shield of Macedon
Location: 1
Population: 15,000,000
Capital City: Pella, Macedon

Government Info
Government Type: Alexandrine Monarchy
Brief Explanation of Government: Despotic monarchy. The Basileus (King of Macedon) is the head of state, and his word is law. The Basileus delegates power to the satraps under his command, who also serve as military generals and have the responsibility of raising soldiers in times of war. While the provinces must maintain their loyalty to the central government in Pella and contribute taxes, soldiers, and resources to the kingdom, they are allowed to govern themselves on the local level however they see fit. This serves the dual purposes of allowing the Greek city-states in southern Greece to maintain their own governments, and preventing Perdiccas from having to intervene too often on the local level.

Leader/s: Perdiccas IV, Basileus of Macedon, Pharaoh of Egypt, Hegemon of the Hellenic League
Relations Illyria is a satrapy of Perdiccas. His domain theoretically remains united with the domains of Amnytas and Alexander, but in practice they may as well be separate nations, if not outright enemies.

Leader Info
Name: Perdiccas IV Argead
Age: 32
Skills and Experience: Like his other two brothers, Perdiccas received a well-rounded and high quality education. He originally aspired to be a scholar rather than a leader, and thus studied Greek philosophy, history, mathematics, and other sciences. However, upon being sent to Pella in Macedon, he learned military strategy, tactics, and logistics from Arkadios Lysimachid, and would later go on to fight in the Dacian Campaign. He learned the art of intrigue and manipulation from Nikanor of Crete, which has become a specialty of his.
Family Members:
Argead Dynasty
  • Alexander the Great (grandfather, deceased)
  • Roxana of Bactria (grandmother, deceased)
  • Alexander IV (father, deceased)
  • Thetima of Babylon (mother, deceased)
  • Amyntas (brother)
  • Alexander V (brother)

Ptolemaic Dynasty
  • Berenice Phernophorus (wife)
  • Ptolemy I Soter (grandfather-in-law, deceased)
  • Berenice I (grandmother-in-law, deceased)
  • Ptolemy II Philadelphus (father-in-law)
  • Arsinoe I (mother-in-law)
  • Ptolemy III Euergetes (brother-in-law)
  • Lysimachus (brother-in-law)

Advisers: Nikanor of Crete, Ptolemy II Philadelphus, Eukles Craterid, Antigonus Gonatas, Arkadios Lysimachid, Abet the Negotiator
History: Perdiccas IV was born in 293 BC, the second child of Alexander IV and his wife Thetima. Born the middle child, Perdiccas was favored by no one, and did not receive as much affection or attention from his parents as his other two brothers. In his childhood, Perdiccas spent a considerable amount of time away from his family; when he wasn't studying the classics, Greek philosophers (such as Aristole and Plato) or being tutored, he frequently slipped out of the family palace in Babylon, mingling in the streets of the capital and exploring the city. His life in Babylon would be interrupted at the age of 10, when his father sent him to Macedon to learn matters of administration and warfare from Arkadios Lysimachid, the reigning satrap.

Perdiccas was initially disappointed to learn he would be sent to the homeland, rather than southern Greece. He had aspired to become a scholar rather than a warrior, and wanted to study at the Platonic Academy in Athens; nevertheless, he followed his father's wishes. As Perdiccas began his training under Arkadios, he would also establish a relationship with another important figure: Nikanor of Crete. He was a spymaster serving under Arkadios, responsible for intelligence gathering throughout all of Greece and neighboring Anatolia, both for war purposes (as the submission of a rebellion around the Bosphorus was ongoing), and to assist in rooting out enemies of the state. Nikanor saw potential in the boy and took him under his wing, helping him adapt to life in Macedonia and also mentoring him in the art of espionage. Perdiccas quickly formed a friendship with Nikanor, unlike Arkadios (whom Perdiccas found to be rather cruel and unforgiving in his methods). Unknown to Perdiccas, Nikanor had deeper ulterior motives; he knew that upon Alexander IV's death, the throne would be contested by all three of his sons. He was training Perdiccas to be the eventual victor, in hopes that Greece would once again become the center of power in the Hellenistic world, marginalizing Babylon in the process.

Perdiccas would fight in the Dacian Campaign for several campaign seasons, gaining experience in combat against the Dacians and other tribes in Pannonia while having several near-death experiences in the process. The campaign was rough, and the enemy resistance was fierce, and Dacia was ultimately lost in Alexander IV's reign. Perdiccas was retreating into Thrace in 276 BC, demoralized and feeling partly betrayed by the satrapies (he believed that if substantially more resources and men had been committed in the campaign, a decisive victory could have been achieved) when news of his father's death rocked the Empire. He journeyed to Babylon for the funeral, where the Last Will and Testament of Alexander was finally revealed.

The reveal, combined with Perdiccas's combat fatigue nearly sent him over the edge. He was livid; Alexander would receive Persia and Egypt, Amnytas would receive India, while he would only be left with the scraps in Greece and Anatolia. The will also deemed that all three brothers were to share control of the Empire, but Alexander viewed this as a grave insult, believing that he should be the sole heir. This only further enraged Perdiccas, who proceeded to argue with Alexander for hours on end about the will, nearly coming to blows in the process. Both eventually relented and agreed to rule jointly in Babylon, largely thanks to Amnytas and his call for unity.

However, Perdiccas had no intention of allowing Alexander to get the upper hand. He was going to take Alexander down a peg, and claim land that he should have rightfully received in the first place, and he had a plan to do it. Perdiccas journeyed to Egypt and spent months there, where he proposed to Ptolemy II Philadelphus that he be betrothed to his daughter, Berenice Phernophorus, and formally marry her when she came of age. Ptolemy accepted; meanwhile, Perdiccas worked with Nikanor to establish spies across the Empire, and eliminate any influence Alexander had in Egypt by eliminating his supporters and sowing discord between the Egyptians and the government in Babylon. The Egyptian Affair, as it became known across the Empire, succeeded; Ptolemy had aligned himself with Perdiccas, resulting in Perdiccas being expelled from Babylon by Alexander. Perdiccas did not protest, shouting that he would only return to Babylon "with an army at my back, to collect your head!" and promptly stormed out of the city.

Perdiccas would be crowned King of Macedon, Hegemon of the Hellenic League and Pharoah of Egypt, and would promptly begin the hard work of consolidating his domain. The riches of Egypt, its massive population and huge food surplus would prove to be extremely beneficial to Perdiccas, and was to facilitate the next stage of his plan- the impending war with Alexander. Perdiccas eyes Syria and Judea for a potential campaign. Perdiccas has begun fortifying the frontiers of his domain in Egypt, Anatolia, and Thrace, to ensure his enemies will bleed for every inch of his land they attempt to conquer.

Population Info
State Religion: Olympianism, as well as the cult of Alexander and the cult of Serapis.
Religious Policy: All religions are tolerated equally throughout the kingdom.
Religious Situation: While Olympianism is present throughout Egypt and Zoroastrianism present in Anatolia, in Egypt, Perdiccas would promote the cult of Serapis. Serapis was a combination of Apis and Osirus (two Egyptian gods) and all of the primary Greek gods; Serapis had powers over fertility, the sun, corn, funerary rites, and medicine. Perdiccas is also promoting the cult of Alexander the Great, taking advantage of the fact that Alexander had been enthroned as Pharoah and declared the son of the deity Ammon-Ra during his reign. The ultimate goal is to use both cults to control the Egyptian population and ensure their loyalty to Ptolemy II Philadelphus, and in turn Perdiccas.
State Ethnicity: Greeks is the most prestigious ethnicity in the kingdom.
Other Ethnicities: The Egyptian ethnicity is the most populous in the kingdom, due to Egypt's large population, while the Anatolian cultures are a distant third.
Slavery: Slavery remains a common practice throughout the kingdom, and remains identical to traditional Greek slavery. The principal use of slaves were in agriculture, though all other activities (save for politics, which were reserved for citizens) were also open to slaves.
Ethics: With the core of the kingdom being Macedon, the Greeks under Perdiccas maintain a strong martial tradition, with Greek values and cultural norms remaining dominant.
Military Info
Army: 150,000 infantry, 20,000 cavalry
Navy: 200 warships
Other Info

Goals: Protect Egypt from being reclaimed by Alexander V, invade Nubia and integrate them into the kingdom, conquer Dacia and Epirus.
History: Mostly determined by timeline. See the history of Perdiccas for more information.
RP Sample: If necessary, I can provide one.
501 - Do not remove. This is for tracking purposes.
