Ohh, that is wonderful. I'm a bit busy these days and usually only available during the afternoon. I might make an app. I'm thinking about negotiating with the USA player on a a potential fractured USA which while the USA is still a thing it is only rump state of after a few areas succeeded from it during the depression without WW2 to reinvigorate the economy. Specifically I'm going for a sorta kinda syndicalist federation centered around the industrial Midwest(Ohio) and agriculture dominated mountain west(Iowa). That or a black secessionist state centered around South Carolina and maybe Georgia. Could be fun.

Hence I did mention talking to and negotiating with the guy whether he would be down with such a plan. He may be willing, no harm in asking. If not I can go somewhere else.

Yeah...no.

Read the original post before you jump to conclusions about what you can and can’t make. The POD is 1939, there’d be no way for America to be fragmented in a 9 year period. I think the OP should add that to the original post. @Lan Khao Xang Hom Krung Tai ay b, add the pod to the op plox

I have to disagree. The United States without the massive stimulus spending that was WW2 which in this world didn't occur would be a rather... unstable place filled with economic turmoil and loss of hope due to the failure of the New Deal. Political radicalism thrives under such circumstances. Remember it only took Hitler something a little less than 2 years from the point he was chancellor to turn the Wiemar republic, which had one of the most democratic constitutions, into a straight totalitarian night mare fuel state. Heck the guy only ruled for 1 years when it comes down to it. 9 years is plenty to wreck some shit. I had been thinking in terms of my app less shattered and more in the process of shattering with rebellions occurring all over the place and in some cases a few places trying to succeed.

But alas that will not occur. Someone mentioned something about the united kingdom, know anything about that? If not I'm thinking potentially Iran could be an interesting choice.

It was such a batshit insane invention, Billy Mays had to borrow it, mass produce it and sell it to a few select friends of his, such as Kensin and the entire Ottoman Empire insane command as their personal defense weapons.
I laughed my ass off when I noticed it first in discord with whatever that one RP was with Nixon. I'd like to have Barry Goldwater be replaced instead if I get a chance to RP as the National American Patriotic Union, a communist insane united states with Goldwater and kitchen guns.

• Maintain Ma Clique's sovereignty.
• Industrial investments
• Modernize industry and military
• Military reforms
• Public education reforms

Private Goals -
• Invade Sinkiang, Tibet, and Mongolia including ROC if necessarily.
• Eliminate Nationalist/Communist influence in the controlled regions
• Establish a Hui-led dynasty in China.
• Become the REAL China, if necessarily.
• Radicalize Islam, if necessarily.
• Separate the vision of a Hui-led Ma dynasty from Chinese sovereignty at all cost.

Total military size - 486,000 active forces

Most Advanced tank/aircraft - N/A
Breakdown of ground forces - 420,000 infantry

Breakdown of naval forces - N/A
Breakdown of aerial forces
• 15 Curtiss Hawk II
• 6 Curtiss Hawk III
• 18 Boeing P-26
• 12 Martin B-10 bombers

Major foreign military suppliers - N/A
Extra military information - The Ma Clique forces are mostly experienced as they experienced the deadly conflicts of the Xinjiang Wars and Sino-Tibetan War. Most of the leaders of the Ma Clique are war veterans and former Qing generals which they have experienced the Boxer Rebellion, the Xinhai Revolution, and National Protection War. As the Ma Clique forces are experienced led by experienced and war-veteran generals (Take note that the Ma Clique forces have already engaged with the Soviets both IRL and this timeline). The clique forces are forced to be reckoned with. Their morale is somewhat above average nor their forces are decimated as they haven't participated in the Northern Expedition and the Central Plains' War.

Currency - Yuan
Major import/export partners - ROC

Major Domestic Issues -
• Government Corruption - while the two warlords; Ma Hongkui and Ma Hongbin are loyal to Ma Bufang, there are corruption within the government clique as the clique is mostly run by the Ma family. The other Ma families are somewhat corrupt since they are rich which Ma Bufang vows to get rid of the corruption in the clique government by reminding his relatives that corruption is considered a sin in Islam. (If the relatives didn't listen if what Ma Bafung said, they will be imprisoned or killed if necessarily).

• Ineffective Bureaucracy - The head of state isn't just one but three. The three Mas have different brains and different personality which they have different decisions BUT the same goal making the system of the government ineffective.

Major Foreign Issues -
• Border clashes with pro-Soviet government; Xinjiang - Truly, the Xinjiang Wars may have ended but there are border clashes with the communist Xinjiang. Even though there were a "peace treaty" agreement between Xinjiang and Ma Clique & ROC, there were still border clashes between them as they test their strength on one another, especially that pro-Soviet government is Xinjiang attempts to spread communism to Ma Clique which is a no no.

• Attacks from CCP insurgents and bandits on the border with ROC - While the CCP is almost destroyed by the Nationalists in the Northern Expedition (which the Ma Clique didn't participate in), the remnants of the CCP insurgents would attack the border guards that are affiliated to the Ma Clique in the east in search for a new land, that includes to the bandits who pillage and raid nearby villages on the border.

History - The Ma Clique warlords were all Generals in the military of the Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China, until they sided with the Empire of China against the ROC in National Protection War, they have become a warlord clique ever since. The clique was begun by Muslim generals who served in the military of the Qing dynasty, most notably in the Kansu Braves army, who fought in the Boxer Rebellion against invading foreign forces and the Xinhai Revolution to protect the Empire from collapsing against the rebels.. It was continued by two generations of their descendants. During the Xinjiang Wars, Ma Clique forces fought against the Soviets and communist-backed Xinjiang forces but failed to do so which led to peace treaty and border clashes/skirmishes. Since the Second Sino-Japanese War didn't exist in this timeline, the clique is partially friendly to the ROC but not loyal to the ROC as the Ma Clique leaders are planning to establish a Hui dynasty in China. It's been ten years since the Xinjiang Wars have ended, will the Ma Clique joins the ROC or continue their main ambition? None can tell of what the clique is planning.

Accepted my dude~

  • Un-American activities: Certain voices have raised concern and paranoia that those that would seek to destroy American democracy have infiltrated society and the government.
  • Union unrest: Given the recent surge in popularity of the Social Democratic Federation, the trade unions that lost so much power during the Depression and New Deal
Major Foreign Issues -
  • CHINA: Public support for the KMT remains high in America, but the question has been increasingly raised as to how much America should intervene to preserve Chiang Kai Shek's Republic.
  • Monroe Doctrine: The United States sees it an obligation to protect the countries of the Americas from European influence- and occasionally save countries from themselves. The trade relations between Mexican regime, Germany, and Japan especially, have become of intense concern.
  • Markets for American goods: An extension of the concern of the economy at home, many in the United States wish to see the market for American goods worldwide expanded to allow America to truly prosper.

History - The United States of America came out of the Great War triumphant. They had just won a World War, and escaped the horrendous ruin most of the other participants had received. After a brief period of fear of the Spanish Flu, the United States emerged a major economic power in what would become known as the Roaring Twenties. Of course, all great things must come to an end. The Roaring Twenties ended quickly and brutally in the 1929 Stock Market Crash, starting the Great Depression, a massive economic recession that was felt across the world. The ineffectual response on the part of Herbert Hoover's administration caused the Republican Party to fall from grace, allowing the Democrats under presidential candidate Franklin Delano Roosevelt and VP candidate John Nance Garner to sweep the election in a landslide victory. In 1933, FDR launched his "New Deal", an extensive plan to rebuild America's economy. It was not a short recovery, but it was a recovery. Over the course of the next decade the U.S. economy slowly healed, and the United States continued its isolationism.

However, not everything was fine and dandy. The Dust Bowl, terrifying dust storms created by overplowing, ripped across the Great Plains, crippling the region. In 1936, a massive heat wave swept across the country, destroying crops and killing around 5,000 people. During the Berlin Olympics that same year, the United States created much embarrassment for the German Reich. The African-American athlete Jesse Owens scored four gold medals during the event, quite the spit in the face of the Nazi ideal of Aryan racial supremacy. FDR was re-elected that November, with John Nance Garner continuing to be VP.

In 1940, the United States again participated in the Summer Olympics, this time in Tokyo, Japan. FDR was again re-elected that November for an unprecedented third term with Henry A. Wallace as his Vice President. Of course, by 1942, the United States had to acknowledge that plugging one's ears to world politics didn't work out forever. While it continued to work out fine in Europe, in the Americas it was simply becoming unsustainable. Evidence, anti-isolationists said, was the increasingly worrying direction America's neighbor Mexico was taking- negotiating trade deals with the Nazi Reich and the Japanese Empire- was becoming apparent to more and more citizens as the internal strife caused by the Great Depression slowly declined. Douglas MacArthur, a retired Chief of Staff of the Army, sent a letter to FDR speaking of the need to re-arm at least partially to secure American independence and her interests abroad- especially in China, where the KMT, said the letter, was "a shining beacon of American ideals in the Orient [...] surrounded on all sides by those that seek nothing less than her total annihilation". In what was surely a coincidence, a copy of the letter was leaked to the press. The letter led (either directly or indirectly, it is not certain which) to FDR's decision to build up the United States Armed Forces, which had fallen by the wayside due to the Depression.

FDR was re-elected a fourth time in 1944, again with Henry A. Wallace as his VP. Roosevelt would pass away due to a brain hemorrhage in 1945, leaving Henry A. Wallace the Presidency. That same year, with the backing of the U.S. Department of Commerce, Army General George S. Patton, Junior, founded the 1st Volunteer Armored Cavalry Regiment and sent himself and the regiment to assist the KMT in China. Supporters of Patton's actions often call them "Patton's Rough Riders", while Patton's detractors often call them "The American Condor Legion." As President, Wallace sought to reconcile with the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, a policy that was defended by the statement "Marshal Tukhachevsky is the only man in Eurasia powerful enough to counterbalance the plague of Fascism that inflicts the continent." This led to a massive rift in the Democratic Party, culminating the party leadership, in 1947 stating that Wallace would not be running on the Democratic ticket. Wallace himself declared that he would run as candidate for the Social Democratic Federation, a left-wing party founded after a schism in the Socialist Party of America. Many of his supporters went with him. The Democratic leadership issued a statement saying it would hold off on the decision of candidate until the 1948 Democratic National Convention, as was tradition. As 1947 draws to a close, Douglas MacArthur has announced that he would attempt to run for the Republican nomination.

As 1948 dawns, the United States finds itself at a crossroads. Should it attempt to leap into world politics, or should it stay at home so the horrors of war are far from any American? It will all come down to the election in November.

The KMT inner Mongolian borders seem kinda wonky. You'd think that Ma or somebody else would have de facto control of those parts.

Also, where is Soviet Sakhalin?
