History: Italy had been an assortment of fractured states, with each their own regional dialect and economic laws and infrastructure and legislature and motives. Some were knight states and mercenaries, some were loyal to the pope and monks, some were dynastical plots of land, and others were something in between.

However, later along the course of the 19th century, Italian activists and leaders started to gain ground as advocates for Italian unification. The Republic of Rome had been established, and while it was to fall quickly, it showed just how much this movement had grown over the years. Soon enough cool, calculating and aggressive and forceful politicians like Camille Benso and Giuseppe Garibaldi would lead the initiative to unite Italy under a form of union led by the most powerful state, Sardinia-Piedmont. Soon enough, the entirety of Italy would be united into this proclaimed Kingdom of Italy, all but the Papal States in Rome, who, after the French had to take their protection away to fight the Prussians, would fall to the Italians. Italy was finally united.

And now, it would stumble trying to truly unify the cultures and languages and military and infrastructure, however, a state like Italy would soon flourish. It would make its first move as an empire and establish its first colonies in Africa, establishing a foothold in Eritrea and Abyssinia and declaring war on the already frail Ottoman Empire to take control of Libya.

Years came and went. Italy stood as a European power, allied to the Central Powers, or at least, that's what people thought. WW1 came and Italy had instead stood back in the war, choosing to rather stay neutral. This should've been the Central Powers' first clue. Then, after a secret deal with the Entente, Italy reneged its treaties with the Tripartite Pact and declared war on them, engaging in a slow, rough fight in the Alps with Austria. After a war with much bloodshed, the Italians would get their resolve...or...a fraction of it.

They felt cheated. Many Italian men died in the snow and forest and trench covered Alps only for the Entente to give them scraps off their plate. This made it easy for a certain politician and his certain ideology to gain traction, a strong they said they would fox everything and all they had been wronged for. And thus came the rise to power of Benito Mussolini and his fascismo movement.

The fascist government would continue their incursions into Ethiopia, annexing their territory eventually and establishing influence there. Then, the industry and economy were developed, with production and construction projects being commonplace throughout the legislature. Oil refineries and cities and buildings were built in Africa while factories and mines and roads were being built in Italy and Albania after the personal union with Zog had been enforced.

Now was Italy's era, and now was the time the world saw Italy for what it really is: one of the powerhouses of Europe

History -
The Empire of China was one the largest, richest, most populated Empire in the history of all mankind, but those glory days are long over. The Century of Humiliation came thanks to the Sea Barbarians and their ironclad warships, those who stripped China of her dignity and slaved it’s people to opium. Sun Yat Sen changed all of this, overthrowing the stale old Empire of the Qing, and restoring the Mandate of Heaven to a true Republic of China that could and would stand against the Sea Barbarians. It was not the glory of Sun Yat Sen, but instead the next ruler of China, the General Chiang Kai-Shek that China was finally reunified and began the agonizing process of modernisation. Chiang made strategic alliances with the Soong family, who in turn had the backing of the Kung finances, however it was the wonderful propaganda that was the true skill of the Chiang-Soong alliance.

It was through Soong-Chiang propaganda that they entralled the United States into thinking the KMT as ‘in a period preparatory to democracy’, and that they were working hard to bring the world of Jesus Christ to the masses. While Chiang accepted baptism, he likewise buttered up the Soviet Union knowing it thanks to his time there when the KMT was run by Sun Yat Sen. H.H. Koong and T.V. Soong worked together on the old powers of Europe, H.H. Koong meeting with the Fuhrer himself, and T.V. Soong convincing Mussolini that China would be it’s closest ally. Indeed while the leadership clinged to those abroad, the people of China suffered under the harsh authoritarian rule of the KMT, and the crippling losses of the ‘Bandit Extermination Campaigns’ against Mao. In the end, success came, and the Soong-Chiang oligarchy was happy to pay the one and a half million lives for the death of their political rival.

As China has marched the path of progress there was no Great Leap Forward, but instead the slow building of factories under the watchful eyes of American, German, Soviet, Italian, British, and French investors, their nations supplying arms to keep the KMT in power as it fed their desires for tea and silks. This industrialization was envied but not interrupted by Japan and it’s puppet states, their jealous eyes seeing first the sheer strength of the National Revolutionary Army. The KMT is unconquered, unconquerable, and shall strike fear into the hearts of any who dare oppose it!

It's mastered the economic crisis put forth from the US, and the Flemish economy is growing day by day. Thousands of ships stroll into the vast Antwerp harbour, and the Belgians are making good money. Times appear to be golden. The Belgian lion showed its teeth when the nazi empire to its east marched into Vienna, sending letters of protest alongside the French and British governments, the governments that helped little Belgium win the war.

Belgium is ruled by the catholic block, a conservative party whose main competitor is the socialist party. The catholic block has continued the pillarization of Belgian society and the status of the Congo. It's won public trust after their laissez-faire government changes with installed the population with a lot of personal freedom. The conservatives are now looking to increase Belgium's economy by lowering taxes on international businesses, which has been opposed by the flamboyant yet decreasingly popular socialist party. The conservatives are very busy with implenting new laws that enlarge Belgium's military to show its support to the allied cause, and to try to fend off any invasion in Europe.

In Africa, however, socialist revolutionaries have been surpressed by a large Belgian "peacekeeping" force. The criminals were, and are continued to be placed in prisons, and most of the Congolese prisons are being overflooded. Aside from some political violence, much is OK for the entire Congo populace. The native groups are being respected more and more, and Apartheid is on the way out. The Belgians know that the Congo is an important business opportunity, seeing that they can sell of its rich resources such as aliminium and natural rubber.
