Biography Vincent Salatore was born in Brooklyn, NY to a poor, working class family. At a young age, he become associated with the mob, acting as an errand boy. For a poor kid, seeing the guys living the “life” essentially served as its own sales pitch. Money, women, and respect were the norm for these folks. They did whatever they wanted. Vincent spent years as the errand boy, running packages, messages, and other menial tasks. However, as he got older, he became more involved. Shakedowns, collections, and such became the norm. Hijacking and narcotics, however, are what really made Vincent an earner. Stealing trucks and selling drugs made Vincent a serious earner and the higher ups took notice. At 19 years, he was made.
Once he became made, he continued to earn while solidifying his position within the hierarchy of the family. Friends were made, enemies were buried, and money kept being brought in. Vincent began to solidify his reputation as a ruthless, no nonsense businessman who would eat dinner at your house and burn it down the next day if that’s what was necessary. He was bringing in a tremendous amount of money for the bosses, and consequently he rose through the ranks of the family.
Vincent’s acendance didn’t go unnoticed, however. Not all of the families were keen on the idea of a prominent member running dope through NYC. The resulting uneasiness culminated in an attempted hit, contracted by the Gambino family. A short lived outbreak of violence between the families erupted, with Vincent’s retaliation coming in the form of a string of execution style killings against the triggermen of his own would be assassination. To keep the peace, the bosses decided that in exchange for Castellano lifting the order on Vincent’s life, he would be relocated out of New York. They sent him to Miami to head the mobs efforts in the city.
In Miami, Vincent was in charge and free to expand the narcotics operation without fear of being marked by one of the five families, as long as he kept kicking back a healthy share of the take. As the top dog in the city, he quickly consolidated his hold. The “competition” either sold out or disappeared, with a good number of competing “kingpins” winding up in the swamps. Connections were forged with the Colombians and Vincent quickly became the biggest Coke “enterprise” on the eastern seaboard, controlling the flow of the drug across the east coast. This went on for about a decade, but eventually the Colombians started to face pressure from their own country, disrupting the supply. While the commodity kept coming in, it was becoming more expensive and risky to bring into the country. As a result, Vincent turned to the Mexican cartels to find an alternative supplier. The bosses, less than enthused with the “lighter” bags they’ve been reviewing each month, have insisted that Vincent make his way to El Paso to establish the connection. While normally Vincent would have a trusted lieutenant handle such matters, when the bosses insist you do whatever they’ve requested. Doing otherwise is a solid, surefire way to wind up in a river. Vincent made his way to El Paso, with a meeting set up between himself and “El Olso” Chávez. Unfortunately, the cartel big fish wound up dead, 3 days prior the scheduled meet. Vincent, however, has no plan to return home until he’s accomplished what he needed done, regardless of the fact the original potential “partner” ate a DEA bullet.
DENIED. This application has some major issues that really make it unacceptable.
1: It misses the mark and really puts itself in opposition to the style and aesthetic of the RP.
2: your character is far to well connected and important, I dont want that level of influence being brought by a character. This collaborative story is to detail a group of criminals attempts to figure out who has set up their boss.
3: your character isn't part of the group and thus outs in de tbe scope of the character base for this RP.
