"Hello, everyone! So, I have a special surprise for you all today [Egilson pans camera]. Here is my family! I talked with their teachers, and they all agreed to let my kids finish all the last tests and homework over the weekend. All their schoolwork is complete for the year, so they get to spend the rest of the summer with us! How about you all introduce yourselves?"
"...Starting with who?"
"Let's just go oldest down."
"All right. Hello, everyone, I'm Abigail, Benjamin's wife. Moral support, and, more importantly, handling the finances."
"I'm Eric, and I've been helping out with the campaign strategy. I've been talking with Wright's campaign staff, and we have a lot of good ideas for the future."
"I'm Faith Egilson, and I made cupcakes, for what it's worth."
"I'm Richard Egilson, I helped with the website. Not much. Well, I was responsible for the red color."
"I'm Irene!"
"So, yeah! We're looking forward to the summer's campaign, now that the whole family can be here full-time. I've also got an announcement for everyone. We're going to be doing a road trip along the whole Atlantic coast. It's going to be a week or two, but it's going to start in Boston and then head on down through Texas. We'll be hosting events in multiple languages (Hay muchos lenguajes), and we're going to be giving out... (announcement number three) our new shirts! Here's the new design. I hope you all enjoy, and I look forward to talking with you all tomorrow!"

I use my NationStates stats, because a population of billions/trillions and an economy of hundreds of trillions is totally viable, trust me.
But seriously, aside from the population and GDP, just assume that my NS stats are roughly accurate.

Support: Paleo-imperialism, conservatism, libertarianism, Christianity.
Against: Stupid people, resistance to industrial progress, alt-right, any form of government at or beyond socialism.

Wright was driving his car to a nearby Italian restaurant. His secret service agents in he back. He was going to meet at his restaurant for dinner with the president and a couple of congressman from both sides.

When he arrived at the restaurant, House Majority Leader Kevin Anderson was already at the table. Wright walked up, his secret service agents followed.

“How are you, Mr. Anderson.” Wright said while getting down in his chair.

“I’m doing alright, you?”

“Well, I just wanna get this bill negotiated with the president.”

“Same here, Gareth.” Anderson responded, taking a sip of water while doing it.

“Have you seen Warner yet, he is another one of the negotiators.” Wright said.

Wright wanted Anthony to be here. Anthony Warner, despite being a Republican, he had pretty good relationships with both the president and Wright. If anything was gonna get done, Senator Warner was gonna have to be here.

“I think he just parked, I saw him out of that window.”

He then turned around and saw Warner going through the doors and into the private seating area.

“Sorry I’m a bit late, I had some business to complete.”

“All that matters is that your here.” Wright looked around. “Where’s Fischer.”

Warner pointed behind Wright and saw the President with a couple other congressman. “Let the negotiating begin.”

July 21, 2052
Restaurant Fiola | Washington, D.C.

The President was trying his best not to smack anyone in the head — like last time, at the sushi restaurant — but his arms were flailing around his head and honestly, there was no hope. Like any southern man his age, he was known to gesture quite exorbitantly when telling a story. And he had quite a lot of stories to tell.

"So I pull the flounder out of the water — and mind you, my left hand's gashed open like a black racer caught in a wood lathe — and it flops up, squeezes right outta my grips, and flies and hits Amy in the face. Oh, you wouldn't believe it, and these fellas, they got scales galore. Oh my Jesus. Blood, everywhere."

One of the Congressman — specifically, Jack Clair from Florida's 30th Congressional District — tilted his head up, gesturing behind the President. Fischer turned around, and flashed a big grin.

"Gary!" he shouted, going in for a big bear hug. Before the Senator could resist, Fischer threw his arms around Wright, slapped him on the back like he was trying to get him to stop choking, and tugged him toward the bar in the back, shouting things like "Come on, ol' pal!" and "How're the kids?" and "Has anybody seen my wallet? Jim's got it? Ah, let him have it!"

The President leaned himself against the bar, and the four Congressmen gathered around. Fischer did a quick scan to make sure he knew who he was surrounded by. The Republicans — Wright, Warner, and Anderson — and the Democratic Congressmen — Jack Clair, Florida, Jim Smathers, Georgia, Monica Wright, Michigan, and Minority Leader Gabe Koons, Florida. And Jessman was supposed to be somewhere around here. Where was that little twerp? Probably out back with Amy. The President made a mental note to remind Jessman to stop fucking his daughter. Now, business.

"So, ol' Gary ol' pal ol' sonny ol' pal ol' buddy pal, what d'ya bring us here tonight for? Not just pasta, I'll bet!"

Theo Guess
Guess/Randolph Campaign event New Orleans, LA

"As someone who has worked to fix the damage caused by Hurricanes and more in general, Climate Change, in my more youthful days, I can say faithfully that this plan that you're about to hear will not only help save our nation from natural disasters but bring us into prosperity. So, with saying that, I welcome your Future President of the United States, Premier Guess!" Said Governor Osbourne.

People clapped and hollered as Guess walked up to the stage, grabbing the microphone from Governor Osbourne, he started to speak. After some brief banter with the crowd, he got into the real meat of what he was here to do.

"So, the people of this city know no better than anyone else in the country that Hurricanes can destroy a place. Just think back to Katerina, when it all started. Since then this city has rebuilt itself, and then was near destroyed again by another hurricane. And then let's not forget about climate change, which is causing flooding everywhere on the coast in this country. So, we need to fix these two problems, or else we can say goodbye to our nation. So, I introduce to you all the Environmental Protection and Energy Generation Plan or the EPEGP for short.

I'll start with Hydropower. The plan calls for dikes to be set up on the Atlantic and Pacific Coasts to fight against the increased sea level. This will create countless jobs all over our country, from construction, to research, to management. The project will be based, mainly, off of the Dutch System of Dikes, a system so successful that it reclaimed so much land, they made it a province.

To add on to this we will add Marine Energy to our energy portfolio. We have one of the largest coastlines on Earth, and we aren't using any of it to produce energy that can power our nation. Ocean thermal energy conversion stations will also be set up in Hawaii and the US Virgin Islands.

Now for Solar Power. New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, and California are all states where vast amounts of land are traditionally useless to us because they are deserts. They almost never rain, are always sunny, and are unbearably hot. Most people don't want to live in those conditions. However, despite the land's unusefulness for us, it can be very useful for the production of both Solar Energy and Solar Thermal Energy for our nation.

Just in California, the production of energy from the solar plants in the Mojave and Death Valley provides the majority of energy to the state power grid. And just like how in California, all new buildings are required to place solar panels on them, the EPEGP also calls for solar panels to be built on all new buildings.

Wind Power. Again, we have one of the largest coastlines in the world. One of the optimal places to put wind turbines. And we have two large mountain ranges inside of our borders, the Rockies, and the Appalachians. Where else is it optimal to place wind farms, high altitude areas.

Studies also find that 6 kilometers under the surface of the Rockies, the temperature is 400F+, this could be a great source of geothermal energy that we currently aren't using.

Now on to Bioenergy. My Administration will support companies that seek to make vehicles that run on either Biofuel or Electricity as both are cleaner and cheaper options than traditional fuels.

As for Nuclear Energy, it is one of the greenest energy generator and one of the cheapest. The only downsides are the possibility of a meltdown and the production of nuclear waste. However, these problems can be everted with the advent of new technologies. All the major nuclear reactor disasters were caused by human error. The emergency programs would only start if a human started them. Now, new technologies are allowing for emergency programs to happen automatically. New forms of fuel also act as the coolant, such as Molten Salt Fast Reactors, making a meltdown an impossibility. On to the issue of waste, the US currently uses a Once Through Cycle, which means that once the uranium goes through once, it creates waste that will remain radioactive for millions of years. However, if we shift to a Breeder Fuel Cycle, then we can we can use the uranium multiple times, while the waste is only reactive for 3 to 4 hundred years, a problem that is actually manageable.

The plan also introduces the regulation to any carbon producing power plant that they must set up a Carbon Capture plant that captures at least 75% of all carbon produced or risk being shut down by the government.

In total, the plan plans for the United States of America to be running completely on Green Energy by 2065!"

The crowd was reacted with an outcry of overjoy, there was not a single boo to be heard of.

"And now finally, as a great number of people in this state work for oil companies, mining offshore, a great number of people are bound to be worried about being laid off, or that the skills they have acquired will no longer be used. Well, I have to tell them this, under the plan, if a worker of a former Oil, Natural Gas, or Fracking plant loses his or her job, and his looking to find a new job in the Green Energy field, then the government will provide funding for their training program."

The crowd shouted for joy once more. Theo knew this was the way, get the people to see that Green Energy is the way, it's cheaper and it's cleaner, and then make sure they aren't worried about their job security. He finished off this his closing.

"And so, we will never see the days before climate change again as long as we're alive, but with this plan, we'll be able to work towards the closest we'll ever get! We will be able to give our children and they're children a world where you can live and not have to be in constant fear of whether a hurricane will wipe out your whole town, a world where they don't have to worry about whether or not their house will flood, a world where we can finally live like we did before we started harming the Earth!"

Wright couldn’t help but smile at Fischer’s charisma. He was always energetic despite his old age and had an amazing southern charm that could make anyone smile. It was something he admired about the man and one day hoped to learn.

“First of all, Mr. President, I would just like to thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to meet me. I know it was hard to cram in, but thank you sir. Now, what I wanted to meet about today was to renegotiate the Human Quota Bill. I want to hear your complaints about the bill and what you want added or removed to it. I hope after I hear that, we can manage to negotiate something.”

A waiter came up and asked them what they wanted. Wright and Anderson just kept it to water while Warner just ordered a coke. Wright was hoping to hear about Fischer’s demands because if he couldn’t, he would consider his senate career a possible failure.

"Now another one of those mango cokes would be great, thank you very much," Fischer said to the waiter. The waiter moved back to the Democratic Congressmen, who started ordering appetizers. Fischer furrowed his brow, then smiled, leaning on the counter.

"I was out on the Saint John's one morning," he said, giving a nod to the waiter as he placed the President's coke on the bar.

"I was fishing from a canoe, actually — and, now, people'll tell you that you only head out on the Saint John's in a yacht or a sailboat, but that's up in Jacksonville; this was down nearer to Central Florida, Kissimmee if you want to think of it that way. Swampy, almost. Now, I'm there fishing, and I turn around —" Dick pivoted his torso to mimic the action "— and there I see this rabbit headed toward me. Now, I don't know what it's problem was — maybe he was a Republican — but this wasn't none one of them cutesy rabbits, the kind rich kids get for Easter: no, this here was one of them big splay-footed things that we called swamp rabbits back on Edwards Road. Now, I always like to look at things from the other fellow's point of view, you know, maybe it, don't know, it was just off from a bigger rabbit. But it was a damn troubled rabbit. Hissin', flashin' teeth. Never seen a man flash his own teeth like that, not so much a rabbit either. Secret Service didn't even know what to do — what would you do with a kiddo like that? So I took it in my own hands, took my paddle, swung it over my head, made a racket with it. Splashed a whole lot of water on the fellow, and he just swam right on back to shore."

"Dick rested his eyes and cracked open the coke, taking a sip of it, and nodded approvingly before he leaned back again. "You a sailor or a rabbit, Senator?"

Warner and Anderson were holding in laughter from the ridiculous story. However, Wright remained pretty serious about the situation. Nodding his head about what the President had said and taking a sip of his water while he was thinking.

“Well, Mr. President. If I was to be honest I would be a Rabbit. Why a rabbit, you ask? Well, I usually am very determined to do something, even if the odds are against me. That’s why I am currently holding a senate seat in Minnesota and why I wanted to negotiate this bill, because I always determined even if the odds are 1 in a billion that it will succeed, like how that rabbit was determined to get to that boat, even though he would certainly get splashed by you. Thank you for the question, Mr. President.”

He then looked behind him at Warner, who was shocked that he had actually given an actual answer to the ridiculous question that the president ask.

“Great answer, Gareth.” Warner whispered to Wright. “Hold it on the whispering for a second.” Wright responded. Warner then stepped back for a second, taking a sip of his coke.

The President smiled. Finally somebody who understood how to hold up a conversation in this city!

"I'll tell you Gary, when that bill came across my desk I had to think and think about it. I wanted to sign it, you know I did, but that damn Freedom Caucus — why, they've been howlin' in the House for forty years! And they put that rider on it, you know? The one, says big companies, more than fifty people, they ain't need'a provide health coverage. It's an old Obamacare clause, but it's a damn good one. And they all threw up their hats and said, get rid of it. Now, I'm all for the market. But that didn't belong in that bill and y'all's folks know it."

"Hm," said Fischer, as if he had decisively won an argument, even though he wasn't arguing with anyone. He looked down at his drink.

"I think," Koons said, leaning in, "what the President is saying is that the House Republicans want to get rid of the ACA provision mandating big companies provide health insurance, and they put it in your bill. He isn't going to sign a bill that does that."

"Damn straight!" shouted the President.

Wright had shook his head in understanding at the presidents demand. However, he needed guidance from his other republicans.

Wright turned around at his Republicans “What do you guys think?”

“I think, in my opinion, we should take it. However, that might not be the opinion of the republicans up in the Midwest area.” Anderson said.

“I do agree with that.” said Warner “However, I think we have a shot at picking up some Democrat votes if we change it.”

“I need to consider it for a second.” Wright said, taking another sip of his water.

Wright thought for a couple of seconds about it. He was wondering how many Republicans would go against it because of that change. Although he also thought about what democrats might flip for it. He also knew it would look good on his resume for Vice President.

He turned around to Fischer and said “I will redraft it tomorrow in order to have it keep the Affordable Care Act Provison that you are concerned will be removed. Do you have any other requests, President Fischer?”

"You're crazy Warner," called out Koons from behind the President. "You too, Wright. The House Dems aren't falling in line behind that bill — so you can forget about the two-thirds you'll need to override the veto. Maybe the Senate caucus will cave into your pork promises, but not us."

Fischer crinkled his nose. He turned around toward the Minority Leader.

"Gabriel, now," he said, sniffing heavily. "I know you realize that today's biday is to-morrow's triday. My staff can't just finagle a cobridal scopulator without a grape wood stromp, you know? As we used to say down on the plantation, it's a bagnum railtrick, scoop it with your own hand out of the bottom of a Lakewood palm street." The President leaned back and tossed his hands in the air. "You hear me?"

Koons shook his head, deeply concerned. "I do not, Mr. President."

"I don't know what to tell you," Fischer said. "We're really straddling both sides of the horseperson's hoof here: we've got a scriptacle cavenry, but here's the crutch. Jugular laedercorden of a sourbait crumulur ruthstripe Corbin, or stralesafe ergon, it's really either one, Gabe. Bioseltzering up your cavenry —" the President laughed "— well, let's just say that isn't really fixing to cordon, now!"

Koons looked at his watch, then turned toward the other Democrats and shook his head, as if to say, this bullshit again. He turned toward the President. "Mr. President—"

"Now listen here Gabe!" Fischer cried. "I got Koreans with missiles, Iranians with missiles, Jews with missiles! What've you been doin' about it? Huh? I need a goddamn bill passed, I told you I'd pass the damned thing, and now you're pullin' out on me! Why, I oughta send Bella Cahill into your office to beat some sense into you! You know that poor old woman's got Alzheimers? Alzheimers, is it? Well, actually — you know, it don't matter. The goddamn Vice President tells you to pass a bill, the goddamn President of the United goddamn States tells you to suck it in and vote for the goddamn thing, and what do you do? God damn it, Koons! Are you an ant or a grasshopper?"

The Minority Leader leaned back in his chair, breathing slowly.

"Mr. President, I respect you dearly," he said. "But on this matter, we disagree."

Koons looked at the Republicans, and getting up off his stool glanced at the other Democrats. "Mr. President, permission to be excused?"

Fischer eyed Koons with a harsh glare, but looked down to hide his defeat. "You're excused, folks."

The President turned to Wright and the other Republicans as the Democrats walked out the door. "I did what I could, fellas. I'm sorry. It wasn't enough." A young man came into the private room, sweating. "Jessman," the President said, without his usual pep. "Fetch the beast, it's time to head home." Fischer extended his arm to shake Wright's hand, and nodded at Warner and Anderson as he headed out the door.

Vote on Overriding the President's Veto
U.S. House of Representatives | Washington, D.C.
Image

"Mr. Speaker, for these reasons, I will vote to override the President's veto. I thank the House and Senate sponsors of this important legislation for their tireless efforts on behalf of American families."

The chamber was quiet for a moment but for the murmur of the few dozen Representatives on the floor. Someone whispered something in the Speaker's ear and he nodded, then leaned into his microphone and spoke, his eyes on a piece of paper the clerk had given him.

"Without objection, the previous question is ordered. The question is, will the House, on reconsideration, pass the bill, the objections of the President to the contrary notwithstanding? Under the Constitution, the vote must be by the yeas and nays. The clerk will call the roll.
    ...

"On this vote, the yeas were 233, the nays were 202. Two-thirds not having voted in the affirmative, the bill does not pass."

    Daniels v. California
Supreme Court of the United States | Washington, D.C.
    Image

"In case 53-229, Daniels versus California, Justice Gorsuch has the opinion of the Court."

Gorsuch stood, papers in hand, and looked down at them as he spoke.

"The Constitution of California, enacted in 2048 by referendum, institutes what the defendants call a 'semi-parliamentary' form of government. Further, it elects the legislature of the State of California in proportional, multi-member districts.

The first clause, instituting the semi-parliamentary form of government, is in Article IV of the Constitution.

The second clause, regarding elections, is in Article II of the Constitution.

For the purposes of this case, the semi-parliamentary form of government elects a legislature, which then certifies the election for the executive. The legislature is composed of members from multi-member districts elected proportionally in each district, as well as at-large members selected on the basis of the elected executive's partisan affiliation.

This Court's opinion in Connor versus Johnson discouraged the use of multi-member districts but did not uphold the broad facial constitutional challenge against them. And this Court's opinion in Fortson v. Morris affirmed the right of a state legislature to elect its governor.

The case was first heard in the 2050 term and remanded to the District Court to consider its justiciability. This Court agrees with the District Court's assessment that the case is justiciable.

The Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit applied this Court's rulings in Johnson and Morris to find California's Constitution in compliance with Article IV of the United States Constitution and the 14th Amendment thereto.

The defendant argues that the semi-parliamentary form of government constitutes a republican form of government and affords equal protection of the laws to the citizens of California.

    We reject that argument.

We conclude that these suggestions, and some of them are made by California and some by amici, are not sustainable under a fair reading of the United States Constitution.

The indirect election of the executive of the State of California cannot be acceptable in protecting the principle of one person, one vote, because it is not reasonable to assume that all electors of the executive will be elected with an equivalent mandate.

The Court has recognized that indirect election of legislative or executive officers of a state government is unconstitutional.

The defendant argues that judges and cabinet members are, and have been, indirectly elected for centuries.

We reject that argument as well. We are not convinced that the equation of confirmation by a legislature and election of those officials directly constitutes a fair reading of the Federalist 76.

The Constitution of California compromises the integrity and efficacy of an individual's vote and rejects the principle of one person, one vote.

    This is unlawful.

Our precedent is to be respected unless the most convincing of reasons demonstrates that adherence to this, puts us on a course that is sure error.

For the reasons just stated and others explained in some detail in the Court's quite lengthy opinion, we now overrule the lower courts. The judgment of the Court of Appeals is reversed with respect to the constitutionality of Article II and Article IV of the Constitution of California.

The case is remanded for further proceedings consistent with this opinion.

Justice Holden has filed a dissenting opinion in which Justices Bergen, Symmonds, and Perez have joined."

    Gorsuch took his seat.

    Expirence - Ad

The Egilson/Wright Ticket says they have the experience to lead the country. Let's take a look, shall we?

Benjamin Egilson has been a Representative for a year and a half. Before that, he was a Mayor for 4 years. Gareth Wright is still serving his first term in the Senate, only being a Senator for 3.5 years. Before that, he was a Business Leader of a Successful Company. And who have always proven to be bad Presidents? Business Leaders of Successful Companies. Herbert Hoover, George W. Bush, Donald Trump much?

Meanwhile, the Guess/Randolph Ticket has a combined total of 4 Years on a Tribal Council, 2 years in the House of Representatives, 13.5 years in the Senate, 5.5 years of Premiership, and 9.5 years of Governorship. Adding up to a total of 34.5 years in Government, serving the people by making sure they live in a freer democracy.

Meanwhile, combined, the Egilson-Wright Ticket only has 9 years of experience in Government. That's a difference of a quarter of a century, not to mention the fact that Egilson and Wright have never run anything close to the Presidency, meanwhile, both Guess and Randolph have.

"I'm Theodore Guess and I approve this message."
"I'm Victoria Randolph and I approve this message."

Wright Campaign Schedule for the Egilson Campaign
Sunday: Campaign Rally in Huntington, New York.
Monday: Campaign Rally in Hagerstown, Maryland.
Tuesday: Campaign Rally in Flagstaff, Arizona.
Wednesday: Campaign Rally in McAllen, Texas.
Thursday: Campaign Rally in Biloxi, Mississippi
Friday: Campaign Rally in Gainesville, Florida.
Saturday: Campaign Rally in Marietta, Georgia.

Wright walks up to the podium, looking slightly irritated. “Good Evening, my fellow Americans. Today, I have suffered a defeat, the House of Representatives have decided to not overturn the presidents veto. Despite my best efforts

I had met with congressman and the president to dinner in order to discuss how this bill could be made. And while the president and plenty other people at the dinner were negotiating well, in the end, some of them were not comfortable and left.

While I might be upset about it, I would like to look on the positive side of things. If that bill was introduced 10 years ago, it wouldn’t have even gotten past the house even closely. And we managed to make it all the way up to the Executive Branch. And while it did not get passed by the president in the end, this bill has still paved the future for other bills to introduce human quotas. Whether that bill is passed in 10 days or 10 million days, I still believe that eventually we will manage to get there.

People have asked me if I will push for more bills like it in the future. My answer, absolutely. While maybe not now or tomorrow, as long as I am in politics, I will guarantee all of you out there that when a human quota bill is passed, it will be a fantastic day for men, women, liberals, conservatives, minorities, and everyone else who has been layed off due to a stagnant economy. I will now be taking questions from reporters. How about you, Avery?”

“Senator, how do you respond to a recent ad released by the Guess campaign calling out your lack of experience and comparing you to presidents like Donald Trump, Herbert Hoover, and even George W. Bush. How do you respond?”

“I would first of like to say that it is utterly ridiculous to compare me to any of those people. Donald Trump was an Ultra-Conservative, meanwhile I am a moderate. George W. Bush believed in invading foreign countries, meanwhile I believe in a hands off foreign policy. And Herbert Hoover had a more hands off economic policy than me. So overall, the comparisons are not even remotely accurate. Second off, he is saying we have barely any experience meanwhile democratic presidents like Barack Obama, Jimmy Carter, and even Woodrow Wilson barely had any experience. My point is, experience does not matter if you are an effective leader. Next question, Daniels.

“What are your thoughts about the overturn of California’s new constitution?”

“Well, when I first saw the constitution, I saw it as utterly Undemocratic. It was the equivalent of gerrymandering if gerrymandering actually decided our leader. When I heard that the Supreme Court had overturned the lower courts. I thought thank god that hey did that in order to help save the state of California from having a nondirect election of their leader. Alright, Sampson, what do you have for me?”

“In the recent poll, you are behind in the popular vote of decided voters, but ahead in the electoral vote. How would you address an electoral win by the Egilson campaign but a popular vote win by the Guess campaign and vice versa?”

“If Guess won the popular vote, I would definitely consult the Guess campaign on possible electoral reform legislation in the future. If I had a preference, I would prefer a proportional system rather than the current winner take all system. If it was vice versa, I would do the same thing in communicating with Guess and I would also call for recounts in close states. Final question from Allen, what you got for me?”

“If the President happened to die when you were Vice President of the United States, what would be your first actions as President after the last president died?”

“Well, after I would be inaugurated, I would meet with both the majority and minority leaders of both the senate and House of Representatives and talk to them about how they want to fix the current economic situation. I would then come up with a plan along with advisors for the first 100 days. Then, I would go on television and address the nation on what my plan is for my first one hundred days so they feel comfortable about the future of this nation. I would then get down to business on who I would appoint as Vice President of the United States and would choose someone who could represent a part of the United States that I couldn’t. That is what I would do if the president died in office. I have to go now, thank you for your questions and goodnight.

    Theo Guess
    Sacramento, CA

Premier Guess walked out of the Premier's Mansion, walking up to the Podium as the lights of camera's flashed. Guess has his face looking downwards, he looked downtrodden.

Stopping at the podium, he let out a long sigh and began, "Today, the Supreme Court has struck down the people's will to be governed by a system that they choose. And funnily enough, they've also inadvertently called any country that doesn't use the Presidental System, not a Republican Form of Government, but that's be on the point.

This is a great defeat for the people of California, as depending on the choices of a lower court, we'll either be forced to go back to the Second Constitution, the thing the Third Constitution was trying to fix. Or, what hopefully the lower court choose, will just require the separation of the executive and legislative branches of this state. Hopefully, they will choose the latter, because if they don't a pointless and expensive State Senate will have to be recreated, the terrible and undemocratic First Past the Post system will be brought back, as well as the Top-2 Primary System, which has shown us it's various problems from vote splitting, to the spoiler effect, and bring down voter turnout in the final round, not to mention we would have to deal with the possibility of gerrymandering again seeing as how STV doesn't allow for gerrymandering because it's a proportional representation system.

But, regardless of all that, we now all have to deal with the choice the Supreme Court of the United States has made for us. Any Questions?"

"Vice Presidental Candidate Gareth Wright recently said It was the equivalent of gerrymandering if gerrymandering actually decided our leader in regards to the Semi-Parliamentary System in California, and, in reference to the Supreme Court decision, thank god that hey did that in order to help save the state of California from having a nondirect election of their leader. How do you respond?"

"I will redirect you to the statement I made less than a minute ago, gerrymandering is impossible under STV, and the Constitution provided for a nonpartisan redistricting committee, making it impossible that way as well.

I also don't understand why people keep pretending I'm just some random MP from the district I live in, in order for someone to be the Premier of California, they have to be elected from the At-Large District and then the Parliament is required, by the State Constitution, to make them Premier. Which I can understand why people say its nondirect election, but pretending I'm just another MP is completely disingenuous. I was still elected by a statewide vote, just like any other Head of Government in any other state.

And on the note that the President and Vice President are both elected indirectly, perhaps Wright should also be for the elimination of the Electoral College, something the Guess Campaign will fight for if elected. To save the people of the United States from having a nondirect election of their leader, perhaps?"

    Wright Campaign Schedule for Egilson
Sunday: Campaign Rally in Rochester, New York.
Monday: Campaign Rally in Tampa, Florida.
Tuesday: Campaign Rally in Grand Junction, Colorado.
Wednesday: Campaign Rally in Austin, Texas.
Thursday: Campaign Rally in Destin, Florida.
Friday: Campaign Rally in New York City, New York. Interview on Inside Politics
Saturday: Campaign Rally in Corpus Christie, Texas.

King Good evening, on the show today, we have Vice Presidential Candidate Gareth B. Wright on to discuss the upcoming election, attacks he has made, and other possible things. Senator Wright, thank you for coming on the show.

Wright Thank you for having me, John.

King Senator, you have recently been criticized for your misleading statements on the California Constitution by saying it involved gerrymandering, what do you have to say about this?

Wright I would first off like to apologize to Guess for my misleading statements. The facts were given to me by two aids who have since been fired. While I still believe the Supreme Courts decision, I should of fact checked my statements and I would like to apologize to the Guess Campaign and I shall never have a repeat of the same incident.

King What is your number one criticism and number one praise of Guess?

Wright I think my number one praise of the man is his focus on environmental issues. I believe that if he is elected president that he would be amazing at that. However, he is also very divisive and I believe will make American politics even more partisan as the Democratic Party turns into an ultra Left party. Meanwhile, the republicans are trying to become more moderate to work together. That is my complaint.

King Guess has recently criticized you for not supporting the California Constitution, but also still supporting the Electoral College. Your thoughts?

Wright Let me make it clear, if both the Republican and Democratic parties wanted a popular vote system, I would definitely support it like I personally do now. However, that is not the case. There are a lot of republicans who still believe that the electoral college should stay. So I believe in the middle ground of changing the electoral college to a proportional system.

King in the electoral college, you are currently leading and the race is leaning towards an Egilson victory. If you win, how will you communicate with the losing candidate and work with them in politics.

Wright If I win, I will most definitely work with Guess and Randolph and hear out there demands about what they believe we need to do in terms of social policy. I would like to get to know Guess and Randolph better as Vice President so they can be heard out.

King in a press conference, you have described the accusations that you are another Bush 43, Trump, and hoover as extremely loose. Can you expand on that?

Wright I believe I have already made my thoughts clear. Guess was connecting dots that weren’t supposed to be connected. Guess is trying to spread fear about things that should not be feared about me. The experience ad in general, is one of the worst campaign ads I have seen, and I’ve seen awful upon awful.

King Thank you for your time, Mr. Wright

Wright Thank you for having me, John.

Speech at Boston, after a speech from prominent local mayors

"Thanks, Mark. While I was here with my kids, I took them to see some of the great Revolutionary War sites and monuments scattered all across Massachusetts. It's a interesting thing to listen to all the stories, ones that we probably heard as children, reimagined on the sites of their creation. And I stopped and thought about something that I'm sure most of you have thought before: what made the Founding Fathers so special, anyway? There are people across America with just as much faith and determination, and people who supplement with their intellectual brilliance. I came to the conclusion that a good amount of us, if put in the right place, could have done the same. And I realized that that was the very point of the American Revolution all along: that this was a commoner's movement. There were people of all classes, all walks of life, but we never handed out lordships, nor did we make kings. The very immortalization of these Founding Fathers is a disservice to what they stood for. When your country needs you, you volunteer your time and services. When your task is done, you are not exalted into the spotlight; rather, you are woven back into the fabric of America. That's what Bostonians have sought for nearly three hundred years at this point. God willing, we will do so for another century!"

Speech at New York City, following a speech from Governor Phil Williamson

"Thanks, Phil. You know, I read an article the other day about how humans should ideally be working at about half the time that most Americans usually work at their job. It felt like a microcosm of the ideology that I've heard from my ideological opposites. 'Humans aren't supposed to work this hard!' 'Humans aren't supposed to eat this much!' 'We're eating the wrong foods!' 'We're taxing the environment too much!' And my response is always something along the lines of 'Yes! Isn't that great?!' We are so smart and so hard working that we've transcended our status as a base animal. We all know that we're monkeys, but to consider us even on the same level baffles us all. New York City has past record holders for some of the tallest buildings in human history. Captains of industry worked overtime to raise enough capital, and humans ate ham sandwiches a thousand feet in the air as they constructed these massive steel behemoths! Nothing else in the natural world would even think of dreaming that big. It is this dream, however, that separates the human race from the rest of the cosmos. You are New Yorkers. You know what it's like to work hard and live large. It is your hard work and ingenuity, along with hundreds of millions of American citizens, that will bring America back from the brink of collapse. I ask you all to dream with me, one more time!"

    First Presidential Debate, 2052
    CNN Headquarters | Washington, D.C.
    Image

Krauthammer forced as much of a smile as he could while a group of college kids squatted in front of his desk for a picture. He was much too old for this. A manager came over to the desk and shooed them away, then gave Krauthammer the sign.

Maddow made his way to the desk, looking out into the audience for his mother. The lights started flashing and managers scrambled around the stage. Suddenly, the camera drone swept over the crowd, flying in to focus on Krauthammer and Maddow.

"I'm Charles Krauthammer, Jr.," Krauthammer said — "and I'm Chris Maddow! Welcome to the first presidential debate for the 2052 election cycle. On stage tonight we have California Premier Theodore Guess—"

Guess walked on stage, following the strict path and movements set for him by the producers, followed by Egilson.

"—and U.S. Representative from California, Benjamin Egilson."

Krauthammer took his cue and launched into his spiel about the rules for the night — none of which, of course, would be followed or enforced — and Maddow gazed off into the distance. A producer yelled something into his earpiece, and his head pivoted toward the camera.

"With that, let's get the opening statements from our candidates."

Hoping to get an early upper hand on Egilson and presenting himself, at least subconsciously, as the more dominant of the two, Theo made sure he was the first to answer, "Good evening everyone, I'm Theodore Guess, currently I'm the Premier of California, a role I've been serving for the last 5 years and a half, before that I was the Governor of California, before that I was a US Senator, and before that I was a US Representative, and even before that I served on the Cherokee National Council. During all my time in Government, I have fought for the people, whether it be for a better democracy, for a cleaner world, for a more transparent and effective government, and I intend to keep doing so as President.

Egilson was wearing a red and blue tie, a yellow button-down shirt, and a grey business suit. He'd made sure to get extra sleep last night, and he was ready for action.

"Good evening, everyone. My name is Benjamin Egilson, and I've spent practically a decade on the ground, calling shots in City Hall and fighting for my people on the halls of Congress. I believe that everyone, from all creeds and walks of life, deserve that same treatment. I am here to both lead and represent the United States, and I intend to do so if elected."

Maddow launched into action once Egilson finished speaking. "With that said," he said, "let's talk about something on everyone's minds — the economy. As the rest of the world economy booms, the United States continues, for many, to stagnate. Many Americans feel the country has been supplanted on the world stage by Asia and Europe. Americans want a decisive stance on the future of America’s economy, and their wallets. What are your thoughts on this, and what will you do, as President, to work toward a stronger economy for Americans?"

As President, I will negotiate with firms of all sizes to bring the people with big ideas to light. It's not a cut-and-dry thing, but it's our only shot at the top.

"The simplest answer is to open our doors back to trade, namely with the European Union and the Commonwealth Countries. However, within our borders, small businesses are a great way to support and startup a local economy in all areas and as such will be supported by my administration in any way possible."
"My administration would also support government-funded college, allowing for students to both come out of college debt-free, as well as making it easier to find for them to find a well-paying job that they can simulate the economy with."
"And to get specific," Guess placed a large amount of emphasis on that word, "There's also the Environmental Protection and Energy Generation Plan, which would create safe jobs nationwide while automation handles the particularly deadly parts, as well as preparing us for the more extreme effects of Climate Change and make us a greener nation overall."

Guess through the specific part in on purpose, making sure the voters would note that Egilson hadn't named any specific plans or policies, while Guess was already campaigning for them.
