Decisive action in Fergana Valley
Organized divisions of Joint State Political Directorate are conductive decisive actions against the religious fanatics and bandits who have organized themselves in Fergana Valley in Turkestan ASSR. Eight of the people connected with past attack on Party school has been found, tried and swiftly executed for their crimes and eleven more bandits have died in the clashes with OGPU agents. The purge of Fergana is being conducted swiftly and mercilessly but some of the regional party committees have raised their voices against methods employed by OGPU. Council of People's Commissars of Khorezm People's Soviet Republic had sent a following memorandum:
"While Council of Commissars of Khorezm SSR salutes the "Fergana Valley Act" proposed by the Politburo of the Communist Party and Council of People's Commissars of the USSR ,we would like to express our strong disagreement with the methods employed by OGPU. OGPU agents have behaved in a manner that is inappropriate for soldiers of revolutionary government, killing women and children in Fergana Valley in brutal and unnecessary reprisals. The fact that most of them are Russian also made ethnic and religious tensions in the area worse. Many villages were found abandoned and it is suspected that people of those villages had found refuge in the hills and significant amount of them will join the rebels. We therefore call on Congress of Soviets to support Fergana Valley Act" and for Council of People's Commissars to stop counter-productive activities of OGPU in the area."
Soviet of All-Russian Industrial Worker's Unions to be held in Minsk
All-Russian Industrial Workers Union Association will hold its yearly Congress in Minsk on 15th of February. The member of the Association and Union activist Ivan Ivanov has spoke for "Pravda" about the agenda of the Congress:
"It is important for unions to help the Party in the defense of interests of the Workers. We live in the time where we must build our bright communist future and political organization of the workers is an important step towards that. I believe Unions will be here to prevent possible corruption of factory bosses and to give workers more say in the economy of our glorious union, which was Lenin's intention."
It has been revealed that Comrade Rozalina Lebedev and Comrade Tauri Kozlov will be invited to speak at the Soviet as representatives of Soviet of Nationalities and Communist Party.
Tutankhamun's Tomb opened
The team of archaeologists led by English scholar Howard Carter had opened the Tomb of pharaoh Tutankhamun located in the Valley of Kings in Egypt. Out correspondent was on the place of the archaeological expedition as representative of Soviet press and he speaks about excitement when the sarcophagus was opened:
"Some of the local guides and workers have left the burial hall when the mummy was revealed. There was some superstitious talk about Pharaoh's Curse coming on the swift wings to those who disturbed his remains. Also, expedition leaders were reluctant to let the journalists into the Great chamber but I managed to bribe some of them with vodka and shoot a picture of the wrapped-up Pharaoh."
