Cyrus stood and turned to face his opponent, his mind nothing but a dull roar. His body was numb, he could no longer feel pain, not by any magical means, but because Cyrus’s mind was no longer focused. He was no longer thinking. More, some primal instinct took hold now. Cyrus refuses to die here. His body began radiating that dark energy again, this time much stronger. Normally, this amount of demonic power would kill a cambion, but his armor helped contain his energy so as not to burn him alive. He shifted his blade back to his right hand, as the bones in his body snapped back into their normal position, fusing together. All the minor wounds in his body no longer mattered. The only wound that didn’t heal was the spear wound through his back. Cyrus lifted his blade and pointed it at the knight. The blade ignited with the same black fire, but now the heat could be felt all the way from where the knight stood. “Now... normally I wouldn’t care about such a minor thing as wounding me. But you’ve seriously pissed... me... off! Now... why don’t you come over here and fight me like a real knight, you sorry tin can excuse of a soldier!”
"Who said that I'm a real knight? I mean, being honorable and fighting from up close can be nice and all..but if you are good at hitting people from afar.. wouldn't getting close them to be kinda counter-intuitive?", the golden eyed boy told him in the same emotionless voice as before. "So why don't you fight against something else?", he asked, thrusting his spear forward and basically throwing another lighting bolt right at the half-demon. Demonic power, blade with black fire..neither of them would have been useful against something like electricity. And once again, whether it was because of his skill or because of luck, the lighting bolt hit Cyrus dead on, right in his chest, pushing him a little bit back, and as the Scripture knight was looking at him with his hollow eyes, he repeated the same motion in a quick succession, again and again. And you know what is fun about armors made out of metal and electricity? Electricity that can be manipulated? No defense spell against it had been set in place, so with a strong smell of burnt metal, Cyrus fell on the ground. One of the disadvantages of being just a half-demon was being stuck with a pretty much mortal, if nearly ageless body. And with pain or without, no mortal body would be able to take as much electricity as that without damage.
Taking a few deep breaths, the knight pierced the ground with his spear, tightly gripping its handle in order to help him stand. "I'd say that his is enough.. for now."
Cyrus’ vision was black. He wasn’t dead. He could feel the wind around him. His limbs felt heavy, and so did his eyelids. Demonic power still coursed through his body, but he didn’t rise. Even in his enraged state he was smart enough to know that was a bad idea. He lay on his side, playing dead. He allowed his demonic power to fade away, and he just rested on the ground. Play dead Cyrus... He lay there, his hand still gripping his sword. I’m not gonna die here... I refuse to let myself die here. One thousand years of life, of killing men just like this knight. I won’t let this be the end... I won’t let it... Cyrus began muttering the words of a spell, being sure to remain conscious of how much mana he had left.
A harbor in Anselm
Preparing to go to Arys
Iris
Iris had arrived at the harbor. Her eyes searched for the double headed eagle. Her eyes focused on the great bird. She pulled away a ruffle on her dress to reveal the pin. It glittered in the light. Iris had changed her dress for this. She wore a shorter, sleeveless white lace dress with ruffles over her chest area. She walked up to the area in the harbor bearing the symbol of her new master. She went up to a worker wearing the same bronze pin the man from Elbing had worn. “Excuse me sir? I was told to come here and request transport to Arys?” The man looked up and, seeing the pin, replied immediately. “Yes ma’am! Right away” the man said, standing up straighter than before.
