Astro Reach HQ, Houston, Texas

Some days before the call with Chairman Mekis of Blue Sky, the company managed to make a new innovation, when the company devoted four of their innovation two weeks before to researching a way to transmit more data from a satellite, to the Earth from space, enough that it could make a new innovation. After working for days, they found the way in the first lab Astro Reach purchased. Using laser, they managed to put and transmit data from there.

Soon, everyone were outside of the HQ, watching the launch of a reusable rocket to space. Some of the crews, as well as Chairman Jenner, worked at the control tower of Johnson Space Center, to overview the whole launch operation. The rocket carried an important load at the top, an experimental research satellite, that would be used as a test of the new innovation.

"3, 2, 1, launch!", the crews at the top of control and tower said, before the rocket started to spew out fire and smoke from it's exhaust. The rocket soon quickly launched out of the launch facility and high into the sky, before escaping into the atmosphere some minutes later, as the people who watched it saw it shrinking until it couldn't be seen on space, as it was on afternoon. Then, they saw the rocket reflecting it's load, the satellite, which then transmitted data back to Earth, in the form of lasers. The whole employee cheered at this success, and soon, the rocket returned to Earth.

Now, to the day when Chairman Jenner made the deal with Blue Sky and Clan Ishtangr, he was disappointed when Chairman Mekis canceled the loan, though he was still happy with the permit on establishing a facility there. Meanwhile, as for the clan, it was positive and beneficial. They managed to get a free facility constructed in exchange for launching a research satellite from there. A couple of days later, selected employees flew to the territory of the Clan, where they talked with the Cossacks on establishing a launch facility there, which went well. A month later, the facility was finished, and a reuse able rocket was placed there, to launch the satellite

However, the concerning thing for the company was first, they had to give half of their innovation to Great Britain as a part of the deal to prevent compensation. Second, thanks to mining an asteroid, as well as fabricating consumer goods and promoting space tourism, they had dried up the demand for minerals or space tourism on the Dixie region, meaning they had to advertise to replenish the demand back. For now, though, they were going to establish a facility and launch the first research satellite.

Major Advancement: Launch research satellite = -7 capital, +1 research satellite in low orbit over whatever region Clan Ishtangr is located
Stats: 10 capital, 1 factory, 1 research satellite (irrelevant stats not shown)

United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland under Democratic Confederalism

The next meeting of the Federal Parliament was fruitful; the Rhine-Rhur Alliance will be allowed to establish facilities in Western Europe without the need to 'compensate the public' - as far as they were concerned, the Alliance's help in the liberation of the area already counted as compensation that would last for a few generations...

In the murky waters of the South China Sea, a new problem has recently emerged. That of piracy, the attacking of cargo ships and civilian craft to steal, plunder, and kidnap the unsuspecting travelers to larger markets to the north. With the govergnment unable to control it, the waters have become some of the most dangerous in the region, as a major surge has seemingly come out of nowhere, but this was hiding the real source of the new industry. As in most cases in the Indochinan crime world, atleast one branch was behind these attacks. Specifically, the family who was formally the owners of White Rose- a shipping company and owner of several shipping lines. It was their greed and desire to eliminate competition that's lead to so many now deciding to steer clear of the sea. . .

It was the dead of night, and the captain had just submitted his final status entry into the global network of Quickwater liners, before he resigned himself to sleep. They would be delivering some three thousand people, stuffed into the smaller end of civilian transport, to a port in Taiwan, a country which recently had redefined the term 'overcrowded' thanks to a great deal of decent paying jobs opening up in their maritime industry, their central location and unique position in the ocean currents leaving them both as 'The Gates of Asia' for buyers in the Americas, and as one of the last places on Earth you could find those tiny irradiated fish that live in the sea's filth in large enough quantities to fish. Indeed, it was getting so bad that they had started expanding the island, and creating great structures over the sea water in attempt to house all the people who came over, and the even more jobs created trying to feed all these new people, only self reinforcing the cycle of overpopulation. But, alas for these travelers, their destination would be... Rerouted to the Gulf of Tonkin, a fate few of them desired to say the least. It started first at one AM, with the shutdown on the Engines and the locking up of the great turbines which powered the ship, leaving her floating adrift in the waters. Fearing a panic and potential riot, the crew awoke the captain and agreed not to inform the passengers what was currently happening, for even they didn't have the faintest clue their computers- even more integrated into naval vessels at this time- had been hacked, and their ship no longer under their control.

Silently, in the cover of the night the party of gunmen approached the side of the ship, getting close to it easily in it's sedintary state. A long ladder is hoisted onto the railing, and the some thirty men climb on, one by one, to capture the vessel.

The next morning all passengers are ordered to stay in their cabins, and the crew is bound and gagged. They are headed to the port of Hue, their ship to be scrapped, and their lives sold off as slaves to the corporate bodies hungry for captive workers.

Major action-
·Harvest Asteroids

Minor actions
·Fabricate Consumer Goods

Back at Nam Cham's hunting lodge...

The Robber Baron sits upon his perch overlooking the valley, leisurely counting the reports of the latest profits. They were becoming more wealthy than their wildest dreams, with so much money they didn't really know what to do with it. Except, they did. One of his wives came in and gingerly placed a few glasses of wine upon the side table, and looked at her husband. What kind of man was this? He seemed unphased by the fact he was most likely the richest man in the world, tossing aside checks of up to ten thousand dollars like it was nothing... No, there was something else he wanted, something else... What could that be?... He slowly stood up, and walked over to his desk, where he began to write a letter with his ancient fountain pen. His wife watched him in a curious state, wondering what kind of man she married so many years ago. He then stood, and handed the letter, stamped with a red wax seal on it with a red rose as it's symbol. "Give this to my communicarions director, he's currently passed out in the guest room. Wake him up, whatever you have to do. Got it?" She slowly nodded, and ran out of the room, nearly tripping on the steps. A large ammount of money was about to be exchanged, but for what?

Zakharov leaned forward, chest almost tight with anticipation as his body forgot to breathe. The first renderings were just coming in, metal beads shifting dynamically to form the surface of the sojourning moon which the probe was scanning, and the wild eyes of the Prokhor swept the image up hungrily. There were a thousand other readouts, of course- Treader had been packed with every form of instrument known to man prior to launch- but that didn't mean that this first visceral display was any less enthralling for the head of the Korolev Center.

"Hydrocarbon lakes. Liquid core. Corresponding with the old readings, but much more densely concentrated."

The singout from the labtech was exactly what Zakharov had been waiting for. He breathed again, eyes full of relief- the Hegemony had only authorized this mission based on his emphatic experimental evidence that Titan was stuffed full of valuable hydrocarbons, and here was the proof. A money-making venture beyond compare, as soon as they could start extraction. With the Earth desperately short of that delicious readily available power, a steady supply of refinable fuel would be exactly what the Landsraad would be more than willing to allocate uncounted capital to retrieve. And that meant the space agency had her budget, from now until Judgement Day.

Behind Zakharov one of his subordinates popped open a bottle of prosecco, and the Provost happily swiveled to take a glass.

Moscow, Kremlin

The man stares at his screen, happy to see that House Rastinav has replied. The sounds of printing is heard as the man takes a copy of the message sent by the House into his hands. Getting up from his chair, the man opens a folder and places the copy into said folder. Before the man left his desk, he quickly types a short response back.

“Your request have been granted. Thank you for your time.”

Walking down the halls and entrances of the Kerlin, the man enters into a room full of Russian Advisors. The man places the folder down upon the round table that the Advisors sit around before leaving the scene. One of the Advisors grabs the folder and opens it, seeing the printed message. The Advisor nods to the other Advisors in the room and stands up. Walking towards a telephone, the Advisor punches in a number and calls the Prime Minister.

“We have agreed to a alliance with the House. The terms shall be sent to you shortly.”

The Adviser then hangs up and walks back to his chair, pulling out another folder as the room of Advisers talk about other matters.

Cape Town Coast, South Africa, Landsraad Hegemony

In the barges came, each one as large as an old supertanker, laden down with the fruits of labor of nearly ten thousand workers that swarmed across the celestial body that had been safely nudged into a water landing off of False Bay. From where the Chairman stood they seemed immense beyond all reckoning, monoliths of industry that dwarfed even the immense edifices of the processing center. But they were just small cogs in the incomprehensibly machine of commerce and creation that stretched from the nerve-center of Blue Sky across the nearly the entire continent of Africa.

Around Mekis the various department representatives and mining magnates began clamoring with praise, but he merely smiled and nodded politely. It was an achievement, and no mistake- already research groups and fabrication speculators were lining up to get their hands on the high grade metals the magnetic-separator would be smelting from the body of the asteroid belt. This was only one of the first pieces in the puzzle though, a puzzle which Andrei did not see the entirety of, but was certain it would be a glorious vision once completed.

Uravask, Siberia

The decades old capital city. A city built after the Cataclysm and was centered around a bunker that secured what used to be a village. It exploded by having some of the best soil and horses that survived the Fall but when the Cossacks moved east and formed the nobility that was here now. The news spread fast for the end of the Russian Cold War as many considered it a Cossack victory as the GRU opened up to the Clan and they had the ability to expand their influence over Moscow when it came to the space agency and their rapid innovations. To Igor, the Kremlin was always mysterious and equally stubborn when it came to how they act, but they finally cracked.

He knew that people were looking at this and the expansion of the Mongol-Cossack people against the Chinese could be seen as an conquest. The thing that there were warlords and city-states that each thought themselves successors and when a foreign threat comes in then they try to fight back. He admit at the timing when Britain was attacking was convenient and knew that the backlash was going to happen as this Russian Co-Prosperity Sphere that was crafted.

It was a silly name, but a name that tied the two states on the worldstage. Many people knew that the Cossacks were the more advance and economic of the two but the Communists were still strong and could invade by any means. In his mind, he rather focus on the advancements he had gotten from Astro Reach as a new factory was built in Siberia, helping grow the economy with a new lab not to far behind. Not to mention with the newest grant request from Udinav since he needed to operate his labs and prepare to launch another miner ship and use Katherine's mining refinery to get more industry than what a processing plant could do.

Igor also saw the launching of Astro Reach's research satellite. It was expensive, less so than the space station but it was powerful for a telescope. Clan Isthangr had stated that they were going to launch the R&D section for Katherine next month. It was good as the computing processing was focused on the low-gravity for better speeds. This would mean that the labs get better research and the economy got better for the corp. It was more preferable than going on a conquering spree, mostly because he wasn't a gun-ho about conquest, they needed to get to work and the second is to ask for the Yama Group here.

To: Yama Group Leadership

To whom it may concern,

My name is Igor Rastinov, ruler of House Rastinov and the new ruler of Manchuria. I don't usually send messages personally but I wish to express my sincerest apologies when it comes to disrupting any of your operations in the region because of our need for expansion. Because of your assets in the region, we have come to not only tolerate them but wish to expand them. You see, our people are very superstitious and agrarian despite our recent advancements and pursuits but the people of North China are much different and prosperous than common Cossacks.

Because of this, we wish to express to open a clinic in North China. As of right now, we don't wish to have any clinics in Cossack and Mongol lands until we see that the integration of augmentation is good for the public. Consider this as a sort of trial run and an understanding of your services before we seek to make more deals furthering expanding the service.

"A proposal of an alliance?..." Josefa muttered, looking out her window as one of the officers under her personal command, specially dressed with a blue helmet stood there. She held the paper letter in hand, looking at it as the gas masked officer stood there, looking blankly towards her. "Ms Josefa, the government most likely wants an answer as soon as possible." Sighing, she tossed the letter onto the table as she pulled out a small laser projector, before writing into a piece of parchment she pulled from a hidden compartment. By the time it arrived to the government, it would still smell slightly smokey.

"Warning, sector 4 has been locked, please evacuate as soon as possible, repeat, sector 4..." From the outside, the Nordic Facility, built into a mountain, began to spew out smoke from part of it's structure, fire being slightly visible. On the inside, bulkheads began to close slowly as some were trapped between the bulkheads, ensuring that they would at least survive while some were killed by the bulkheads either blocking them off or crushing them. In the main office, Melvin looked towards the holographic display of the facility, watching as each bulkhead sealed the burning sections off while work was also burnt off.

However, there was one good part about it. This meant that their work had been completed, a weapon of near mass slaughter crammed into one single gun. Of course, fire meant that the gun most likely detonated under the pressure of it's own energy core but the data had been logged into the system, and work could now continue onward under Josefa's direct command. With the new gun being purposefully leaked to the public, detailing it's power, sales slowly rose in more war stricken areas as machines continued to churn rifles and drones out to the battlefield.

Vanderwaals Primary School, Johannesburg, South Africa, Landsraad Hegemony
September 16th, 2120

The new partitions at the elementary school were an odd touch, the Chairman reflected, but his thoughts did not show on his face as the cameras flashed and the red lights stared at him. One paw shook the hand of the principal, a genteel man of East Asian descent with a beard nearly down to his belly, and the other gestured a thumbs-up for the masses. Far in the distance, behind the police cordon, Andrei could make out dozens of protesters waving placards indistinguishable from this range; the right to assembly was enshrined in Hegemony law, but to be truthful it was more often a privilege for when convenient than when necessary.

These new procedures about juvenile and younger streaming were not overly popular with many segments of the populace. The rich feared that their less than motivated offspring would end up in ignominious trade positions, while the poor feared their schools would be even further marginalized once they began turning out skilled workers instead of professionals. The new Act for Higher Education was, in its own way, a refutation of the promise of equal opportunity for all that the Landsraad had been founded on those many generations ago- but the Board was determined that the public education system had to change with the times, and Tautel had corralled together enough votes to force it through the People's Chamber.

It took several hours more of speeches, meet and greets with children, and hearing concerns from parents and citizens, but by nightfall Mekis was at least vaguely convinced the system would be accepted. That acceptance might be begrudging, but they would see the virtue of the system eventually. He hoped.

Deep underground in an unknown location in Moscow, a large screen is displayed, showing a highly detailed map of the Middle East. Men and women of the different branches of the Russian military sit at computers as they coordinate and oversee the current Russian build-up on the Anatolia border. 6 divisions, 90,000 men, 1,503 tanks, 223 jet-crafts, 700 self-propelled guns, 813 towed artillery guns, etc, are lined up against the border of the Anatolia region. A man stares at the map display. The same man who forged the allantice between the House Rastinav and G.R.U. Breathing heavily, the man looks down at his hands which holds a stack of papers, Case Red. The man looks down to a telephone, looking at it for a few minutes before picking up the telephone and speak into it.

“Case Red is a go.”

United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland under Democratic Confederalism

Order had been restored to Western Europe, with local warlords and neo-feudalists being expropriated of their wealth after a trial to legtimize said expropriation, while the towns and cities of the British Isles themselves were asked for a tithe for the 'further reconstitution of the liberated areas'. Nevertheless, despite the phrasing of the demads for said Tithe, this and the earlier endorsement of Transhumanism resulted in a small drop in Public Opinion; dangerous for the United Kingdom of Great Britain under Democratic Confederalism (especially as the system required listening to public opinion), but not yet something that would put the realm in peril...

New Saigon, Vietnam.

The crowded streets of New Saigon were flooded with even more commotion during the day, as the news of something big was going down. At 3:00 AM the President of the Corporate Republic of Indochina received a package, a gift from one of his cronies' addresses of considerable note, for what was inside was a rather valuable necklace, made from material that came from space. Obviously, this figurehead of a president was very glad to give it to his wife upon the unboxing at 8:00 AM. However, this was not meant to be, as the package was wired with an explosive on the inside, an the resulting bomb left the entire hallway of his manor in shambles, and the scraps of his now mangled corpse scorched and melted. At 10:00 AM riots broke out in the major cities across Vietnam, the lower classes sacking, looting, and burning several key corporations' property, murdering the landlords and managers caught in the clash. Suspiciously, their hired protection was nowhere to be seen, and neither was the police, their stations darkened and barred, abandoned. During the same day, by 6:00 PM, fourteen of the wealthiest men in Indochina had been murdered by drive-by shootings, bombings, or arson. This great terror lasted into the night, and it was sure to carry on for several days, as those who were not participating in the clash cowered in fear in their highly flammable, overcrowded tenements and hab blocks. It seemed as though anarchy had set in in the Indochina region, it was only a wonder what would come out of the chaos.

Somewhere in Central Asia, House Rastinov controlled area

A plane was now landing in an airport on the area of Central Asia controlled by House Rastinov. The plane retracted it's landing gear and descended, as well as slowing down, before it's wheels touched the runway, bringing the plane to stop few minutes later. Soon, the door was opened and a group of people stepped out of the plane. They were scientists and engineers from Astro Reach.

In this month, while Chairman Jenner didn't see any opportunity to do something minor, like collecting innovation or advertising to replenish that demand in Dixie region, he managed to found an opportunity with doing something major. Seeing how the deal with House Rastinov included being able to establish two labs at just one capital, as the House would pay the rest, it certainly encouraged Astro Reach. And now, today, their workers were now working at the region.

After stepping out if the plane, they were led by the Cossack escorts waiting for them, before being taken to the area where they could establish a lab. After arriving, they started work. They constructed a new building, and put scientific equipments. Their work was finished by the end of the month, before the scientists started to work there. The teror lasted longer than just one weekend.

For the next two weeks massive riots across Indochina rose up, burned corporate towers, factories, and mantions, before extinguishing as if nothing happened. It was ironic, because despite the chaos, everything seemed to have an order. Like a tidal wave, it swept the nation, leaving the region in a destroyed in it's wake. But once the destruction befell order seemed to set in. The old rackets on business were replaced by ones on farms, good housing, clean water, etc. Cleanup crews seemed to come from nowhere, with lavish ammounts of money and recources committed to it. New community centers, night markets, hab blocks, and farmland was cultivated in the ashes of destroyed civilization. But where was it coming from? That was a question only foreign investors cared about. The common peasents of the fuedal order couldn't care less. They were getting fed. And that's what mattered.

Interplanetary Spire, Korolev Research Compound, Landsraad Hegemony

The images coming back from the probe were very promising. Like Titan before her, Callisto was of great interest to the researchers here at the Korolev compound, but this time Zakharov was not alone in perusing the images streaming through from the Treader. No, the Chairman himself was here for the first reading, and the emerald-eyes of the most powerful man in the Hegemony and the Conglomerate almost felt like they were boring into the Provost's skull as the two men waited for the data-flux to begin.

Not that Prokhor particularly minded. The Chairman was an intense man, but fair. There was a low risk of this enterprise not working out- after all, the Jumpdrive's interactions with space-time farther away from a gravity well were not fully understood- but even if everything went tits up the scientist was relatively competent his head wouldn't have to roll for the failure. Callisto had long been speculated, even by the powers before the Cataclysm, to be a candidate for human colonization in the outer solar system. Her relative lack of danger to mankind, as well as liquid water and rocky resources, made her particularly attractive when compared to her other Jovian cousins.

"Treader exiting subspace now, Provost."

Just the works Zakharov had been waiting to hear sung out from one of the techs. On the viewscreen to one side of the mapping table the first view of the moon for decades swelled rapidly, and with a shuffle and hum the beads moved into action, replicating the scanned surface. Though the image was beautiful, hills and alien mountains growing before Prokhor's eyes, the Chairman wasn't even looking. No, instead he was focused on the speculative resource overlays- water, metals, radioactive hotspots that might indicate isotopes... that was the true value of Callisto right now, along with the reams of data to sift through.

After a few moments, Andrei seemed satisfied and turned to his chief researcher.

"It seems we were right to rechristen this the Interplanetary Spire. Excellent job, Prokhor."

United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland under Democratic Confederalism

A large amount of cash will be transferred to the Rhine-Rhur Alliance as reparations for getting their armed forces killed, even as talk of an alliance against the Russian Co-Prosperity Sphere died for now. The Chaos across Indochina was worrying, but the British had no interests there. This did not mean that all concerns were dead, as the conquest of the Anatolian Region by the Greater Russian Union was no doubt of note. Same for the conquest of all/most of Africa by the Landsraad Hegemony.

It was clear; Britain was falling behind.

------

Transfer Assets: Move any amount of Capital or Innovation between entities.

+17 Capital (+1 more next page; - 5 is to be transferred to the Rhine-Rhur Corporate Alliance next IC page as well).
+6 Public Opinion
+2 Innovation
+3 Might (3 Brigades; 2 in Britain and 1 in Western Europe)

Custom Achievements (Minor):

Demoralize Opposition - Major Advancement: - 5 Capital. Reduce the Might of a Battalion in a neighboring Region by 40% for 2 Months.

Altered Laws:

Exemption: Astro Reach - Astro Reach is exempted from Taxation in exchange for allocation of a Low Orbit Space Station.

Exemption: Rhine-Rhur Corporate Alliance - The Rhine-Rhur Corporate Alliance is exempted from Taxation.
Sorry for my behavior, P2TM.

The capital from Britain was pushed immediately into research. The need to pull ahead in their project was paramount over the need to rebuild the military. Material sciences and research into the needs of exo construction were rapidly being pushed to the forefront. The scientists of Germany could feel a breakthrough was right around the corner yet what material sciences could do in the effort to explore space. Perhaps it would just be the first step to something truly spectacular.

The situation in Indochina saw the Triad's various patrons and investors and subsidiaries suddenly without competition. A rather interesting fact. In the rubble of it all it would seem that not only were the other racket's businesses burned to the ground, but the police forces were finally found... Surrounding the Syndicate's properties. Oh the conspiracies that could abound in a less servile popoulation, this seemingly man made anarchy only hit the ones the syndicate would want it to... Odd. But there was still chose. Why? I wonder why...

Major action.

November, 2120

Below the sweeping vistas of the Novo Praetoria skyline, a country's worth of energy poured into databanks that spanned the width of the city. A trillion calculations conducted at the speed of light, information processed at a rate that men would have thought impossible mere decades before. It was necessary, despite the vast expense in cash and resources- a dozen nuclear reactors pumped their output into the veins of the collective mind of the Conglomerate, and its eyes were opened. Feeds from Titan, from Callisto, from the asteroid belt; all these it devoured ravenously, a web of comprehension woven to ensnare that which had previously been effervescent and unknowable.

And so mankind moved forward. Blue Sky truly pushed the limits of what the people of the Hegemony had dreamed. One day soon, dreaming would become reality.

Blue Sky: Construct Datahub (-6 Capital) | 0 Innovation, 17 Capital, 30 Industry, 1 Light Metal, 1 Heavy Metal
4 Labs, 2 Datahub, 2 Factories, 1 Smelter, 1 Mercenary
Hegemony: Innovate (-11 Innovation) | 0 Innovation, 3 Public Opinion, 6 Capital, 4 Battalions (Egypt)
