Astro Reach HQ, Houston, Texas

CEO Jenner was now sitting inside his office, while having a cup of coffee. He was now reading the reports about the company's current state, showing the resources the company has, as well as the advancements Astro Reach now had. Seeing that the company had six capital, and that there were no opportunities to establish a factory or facility yet, he decided to establish yet another lab in the Dixie region for Astro Reach. This time, it would be located on Dallas.

The lab was purchased from an uninhabited building. After that, workers converted the building to a lab, by doing few renovations and moving equipments inside. Soon, scientists, consisting of those who worked for years, as well as new ones, were moved to the lab, to work there.

Britannia Arms Corporation, Nordic Branch

"Yes, I understand Ms Josefa, yes yes, I assure you that our branch is making good progress into the project. Yes, I assure you results will be coming out shortly." Sitting in a reclined circular seat the director of the Nordic Research Branch, Director Melvin Colton, looked towards his holographic projection desk as reports starting coming in on the new project he had been assigned to finish. Apparently leaving it in the isles was too risky for fear of the government, so they relocated research over to the first new branch, the Nordic Research Firm specializing in Bio-research and the effects of their weapons on standard people but at the end of the day still churning out data for their newest guns.

"Director Colton, I have great faith in you. This project is of utmost importance and investors are hounding me for answers. If we can't get the gun out in time I'm afraid we're going to be making serious cutbacks, and you'll be first." Immediately, she hung up as he sighed and looked back at the reports. Although they were coming along fine, data was coming it at the rate that would seriously piss Josefa off. "Director Colton, it is time for your check up." A medical officer walked in, still dressed lightly in military wear as she reclined the chair back while the system turned and moved towards another corner of the room. The corner opened up, the inside of the area had a few mechanical yellow arms with claws and needles. Lying down flat, the arms began to move around as the screws for his mechanical arm were removed while new ones were screwed in as a few arms dismantled it and checked the internal systems before the arm was reinstalled back and the arms retracted.

"So far your arm is doing all right with no need for any further action." Bowing out, she left the room as the chair went back to the desk. He sighed, rubbing his gas mask covered face. Pulling up some reports he read through them as he continued to write off authorizations for further research on what was now called 'Josefa's Gun', since not many knew what it was even meant to be built as.

Minor advancement: Fabricate military designs, half given to Britain.

Major advancements: Establish laboratory

Resources: 3 capital, 2 factories, 3 labs, 2 mercenaries, 1 unit of advanced arms.

The Chairman took a dataslate from one of his aides as he stepped out of the lift to the main nerve center of Blue Sky, the call with the Astro Reach CEO still open. As the man spoke, Mekis considered the offer- a loss of opportunity capital, in exchange for no functional payback, and a pie-in-the-sky future innovation which would take extensive processing power to transfer. His eyes grazed over the production figures from the industrial warrens of Pretoria as he weighed the pros and cons; another corporation in the Hegemony, suckling at the teat, but with potential.

"My organization can offer you a loan of six Capital-equivalent, certainly, but I'm afraid our rates will have to be more than mere recompense- this isn't a charity. The Conglomerate can front you six exocreds tomorrow, assuming your organization has its cryptoservers up to the task, but we'll be looking for a more mutually advantageous solution in terms of interest- ten total Capital, to be paid back over the next eight months. That would be agreeable, certainly."

July, 2120

On the shores of the Cape Andrei looked out over the sprawling industrial complex with pride. Asteroid mining had been a lease on new life for humanity, the ability to retrieve in days what would have previously cost years of hard mining to wrest from the exhausted bones of the Earth. Behind his dark glasses the coal-red body of the descending spacecraft still glistened like a miniature sun, a heavy hauler of a recent design returning with the wealth of a planet in her hold. Once the endless streams of ore from orbit were shunted into the new specialized refining facilities of what the men were calling the Smeltery, Blue Sky's stock would take another turn towards the ascendant.

With the flood of new materials into the market, there were problems on the horizon for the syndicate's ventures. They had made so much money- but they began to run out of customers. This put the families in edge- and at the board's meeting this was a critical topic. The syndicate's wealth had attracted a great deal of pseudo-shareholders, who bought into be sponcers of each family, a precarious situation of patronage that made them obsess about their futures, ironically placing them in an almost legal mode of business thinking. It was then that they looked to their drug network to aid their more legal goods- publicly broadcasting their sale of minerals to a larger, more world whide market. Indochina would still be their trade hub, but they could continue to produce for a while atleast.

Astro Reach is now granted an exemption from public compensation; in essence, it is free of taxes on its facilities. In exchange, its Research Sattelite is allocated to Great Britain, potentially creating a surplus of scientific data. Note that some of the generated data is to be shared with Astro Reach, but with big dividends on the horizon, even the naturally Anti-Corporate populace doesn't bat an eye to this agreement.

The auction broad for Mars Locations is reissued once more:

To: The Corporations of the World
From: The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland under Democratic Confederalism

We are offering coordinates to resource-rich locations in Mars, coordinates that also double as Legal Titles on the Red Planet. All we ask for are a decent amount of capital or scientific research to compensate our scientists for their hard work in finding said locations. Note that Minor Corporations will be given a reduction in the starting price, in order to accomodate their specialized fields and relative lack of resources. Real Meal Incorporated is forbidden from taking part in the auction, for obvious reasons. Starting Prices are stated below:

3 2 Minor Water Sources - 2 Capital or 1 Innovation is the starting price for Major Corporations, 1 Capital or 1 Innovation for minors.
1 Light Metal Source - 2 Capital or 1 Innovation is the starting price for Major Corporations, 1 Capital or 1 Innovation for minors.
5 3 Anomalies discovered on Mars - 1 Capital or 1 Innovation for each if one wants to buy them separately; they come cheap.

Chairman Jenner considered the deal. It was not like what he hoped, but he could also see why Mekis would change the deal to something that would benefit both, because corporations had to profit. He thought again, with the first thing being to pull back from the deal. However, he then thought that he must face the deal, seeing it could benefit Astro Reach, and due to the power and hierarchy of Blue Sky. He soon answered back.

"We accept your deal. We will prepare our server to receive a loan of six credits by the next day, while paying it back in eight months. We hope that this is beneficial to both of us."

After saying that, Chairman Jenner still kept the phone open, waiting for Mekis' response. Meanwhile, fast forward to some days later, a new opportunity arose for Astro Reach. Seeing the wealth of resources, but insufficient capital Astro Reach had, the company decided to expand financially, by using that to produce consumer goods. They started to use their production facility and industry to build new space crafts and rockets, as well as other items related to that. They also promoted space tourism to people, offering it cheap, which caused the upper and middle upper class to flock as customers.

Research continued into various space-related subjects. Work was still being made into prefabricated structures to easily make the trip to Mars or first perhaps the Moon itself. The concept of a Biodome was being proposed but as of yet no physical versions had been tested. So far nearly everything was simply theoretical, save the increasing focus of their industry in improving prefabricated structures and technology in that area. The innovations being discovered in those areas could piece by piece be applied to the eventual colonization efforts going forward.

In fact, what the Academics of the RRU were beginning to touch on was a proper and intensive search for the fabled materials that would make a Space Elevator feasible reality. Building a great elevator could place their efforts at the center for the future colonization efforts in the solar system. Being able to bring resources up into orbit or down to Earth with almost no material or energy cost would be such a great boon to science and mankind in general it had to be done.

To aid in the German research endeavors, a new laboratory had been established within the territory of their new economic partners in London. Upon purchasing the land and flying over the prefabricated structures to build up the property to RRU standards, the Ratherrn himself decided to inaugurate the building. The entire construction process took less than a week and the ceremony not even a few hours. Something could be said for German efficiency. And perhaps he would spend time touring London itself, and in meetings with its rulers. It would only be right to have an equivalent of a 'state visit' now that they were proper friends.

Nubal Military Complex, Upper Nile Basin, Ptolemy Governate
August 23rd, 2120

Governor-General Johan Sevsker looked down on the long lines of trucks outside of the appropriations collection point with a frown on his face. It was time for the tithe once more, a fact that the new citizens of the Hegemony had yet to appreciate. There should have been twice the number of heavily laden vehicles, if the report from his adjutant was to be believed. The people of the Nile had been liberated from the misrule of warlords and tyrants; aye, that was true, and the levy he had placed upon their mines and farms was not heavy compared to the extortion that had been previously practiced.

But it seemed being allowed to vote in the local council elections had given the denizens of the delta delusions about their position within the Landsraad and her holdings. It was one thing to celebrate the rights accorded all free men, another to shirk the responsibilities that came hand in hand with those privileges. The burly warrior shrugged after a few more moments of contemplation.

They would learn, in time. The carrot had been offered, but the stick was still heavy in the hand if necessary.

"Luke, tell Commandant Poiters to mobilize the Fifth for deployment as far north as Alexandria. The directorates of Ar-Arash and Rafal are over seventy percent behind on their dues. He is to set an example, and detain one man in ten of those who have been confirmed not to have contributed their levies, to be sentenced to two months hard labor without recompense. I will deal with the dissent from any councils."

Next to the Governor a young fair-headed man nodded, tapping lightly on the clear screen of his dataslate before departing without a word.

The Clan had launched the first orbital station since the end of the Gilded Age. It was the best approach to have their long-term plan working to get the Cossacks into space. With the advancements of gaining more innovation and computer processing to help prioritize better research and budgeting for more capital and balance out the expense of running the space station. The idea of it was still research focus, with launching a research sat and connecting it with the station to get astrological data and help in making extraplanetary colonization cheaper and affordable. This, coupled with the expansion of the R&D ideas that involve in making advance agricultural research and can help in colonization for the Cossacks.

Igor gave a speech to the people. He claimed that the space station, named Katherine, was the first post-Cataclysm space station to be launched. It was bigger than the Gilded Age space stations and Igor told them about the Clan that they planned to launch another section of Katherine in more than a couple months after the expansion of another lab in the world. United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland under Democratic Confederalism

The People's Protection Forces of Britain had now gained the temporary aid of the Rhine-Rhur Alliance, as well as relatively advanced weapons from the Britannia Weapons Corporation. Nevertheless, Christopher DeWitt was nervous about the chances for mulitary success in the invasion of Western Europe; only one battalion was to be sent to Normandy, while the bulk of the fighting was to be done by the Rhine-Rhur Alliance forces. True, said battalion had relatively advanced weapons, but the fact remained; this was the biggest undertaking of the People's Protection Forces of Britain in years.

So the man would then say, "I don't like the looks of this. We should have gotten the Britannnian Weapons Corporation to help; then we'd have kept them occupied. We should also have sent messages to the Russians earlier."

Sylvia Occalan appared to share none of his concerns. "Chris, even if we fail, we'll succeed in gaining new experience. Besides, the Landsraad Hegemony is poised to take over all of Africa; it is only fair that we liberate Europe to save them from their grubby hands." A smile as she handed him reports from the Normandy front. "Don't worry, we've got this."

Normandy

Everything from old-style machine guns to a comandeered coilgun blasted away at the invading British forces as the latter's carrier sent out aircraft and drones to destroy the enemy emplacements. Armored Personnel Carriers drove as far onto the shore as they could, then disembarked their infantry to storm the local warlords' fortifications. Local Warlords were what the invasion force faced, and what they had in numbers, the British counteracted in advanced arms and of course, having their allies attack on another front entirely.

The men spent in the liberation of Western Europe can never be given back, and so we will not make pretenses that anything will compensate for their sacrifice. Nevertheless, to save our partnership, we wish to offer you a show of our good faith:

- Starting these following months, we pledge half the revenue from both Great Britain and Western Europe (+5 Capital from the +10 generated with Taxation) to the rebuilding of the Rhine-Rhur Alliance's private military forces (this lasts until the Rhine-Rhur Alliance has 2 Mercs again).
- We also pledge to exempt all facilities built by the Rhine-Rhur Corporate Alliance in Western Europe from taxation once the next meeting of the Federal Parliament begins.
- Not merely that, but we recognize the Rhine-Rhur Alliance's claims to Germany as its exclusive area of operations, and pledge our forces, once they have been built up, to enforcing said claims to Germany.

These provisions are effective immediately; thank you for your time.

North China

Mongol Cossacks via the Gobi were pushing through the disputed lands of Manchu and the more populated cities. It was heavy fighting throughout the region as warlords and other successor states that were in the region. There were times that the Mongols had lost but they eventually pressed on to the larger cities, establishing claim of the region with the House banners over the city of Beijing. Igor inspected the victory and gave the Mongols the region as compensation for the loss of manpower but a victory well earned. This was a sign of celebration by the Mongols and their Khan, as many believed that they could take the other half of China with Mongol banners over Hong Kong.

Igor didn't mind the idea, he wished to conquer China before going to Korea, Indochina, and Japan but one must be weary of the corps. North China had many corps who had many acquisitions in North China but Igor had made the Khan and the other Mongol Houses to make deals with the corps, one in mind was the Yama Group, whose augmentations were the subject of much dispute for the Cossacks over should a clinic be of use but many were still superstitious and viewed augmentation with various forms of disdain.

Even Undiav didn't like the idea of being upgraded via cybernetics but the Yama Group have yet to be judged and Clan Isthangr was working with expanding their research assets in Western Europe and were awaiting for Igor to make the agreements with the GRU after the Kremlin had stated about the new agreement that was being hashed out by the Senate as this can end the decades old Cold War between the two Russian powers.

Eventually with the help of the Clan, the agreements were sent to the Kremlin as the House leader had finally believed that peace can be achieved and a new hope can work between the two factions.

To: Administry of the Greater Russian Union

To whom it may concern,

The Noble Senate of House Rastinav has pondered upon the agreements that you have given to us and have reached a declaration for us to work with a common ground and put our past hostilities behind us. His Lordship Igor has arranged these demands and offers to the Kremlin;

The GRU will relinquish any claim on Siberia and will assign an alliance between House Rastinav, ending the Cold War.
Clan Isthangr is allowed to have mercs in your regions and will help with defense if you come under fire.
We will help with a joint project of a space agency, any labs the Clan builds the Union has to pay 2 of the 3 capital but the Clan will transfer 1 innovation per lab and an extra 1 innovation per research section that the Clan builds on any GRU space stations.
This comes with the space stations, Clan Isthangr will share any GRU space stations but is allow to expand and own said expansions of sections but will share a portion of innovation or capital that the sections give that isn't needed for any upkeep in the future.

This will only be for Clan Isthangr but any other corp that wishes to have access to GRU lands will have to come through House Rastinav on your behalf, all we need is your agreements from the state.

We moved against Real Meal Incorporated because they were a danger to everyone, including other companies; House Rastinov will move against the people who compete against its lapdogs in Clan Isthagr, especially in the advancement of the Human Condition. They have already stomped China's pride to the dust with thier invasion, though they claim the Mandate of Heaven not. Where will they stop, especially as they have ended thier Cold War with their enemies, the GRU?

Now to get to business: Our invasion of Western Europe has weakened us and our allies a mite, while House Rastinov's invasion of China and peace with the GRU have strengthened them greatly. Realpolitik dictates that the rise of a united set of Russian polities must be opposed lest it engulf the world, and so we propose a secret alliance to this effect. What say you?

"Beautiful isn't it." Josefa muttered, looking out her window towards the direction of the coast of France as their satellite unit broadcast showed on the screen a live viewing of what was happening on the front. "Our weapons, all contributing to her glory." Behind her, a few directors, including Director Colton from Norway with a direct transmission. "Indeed, we should ramp up production tenfold." One replied, to which Josefa scoffed. "We will do that later, but for now all of you are expected to work harder than before. We're fighting a war here, and hell if they get pushed back we're getting some lawsuits our way."

Some Time Later

A note would be sent to the HQ of the Britannian Weapons Corporation via good old-fashioned paper, saying:

To our honored partners in the Britannian Weapons Corporation, from the UK Government.

The main back of the enemy resistance has been broken, but this expansion has not gone un-copied. House Rastinov has cemented itself as a power in Siberia, Mongolia, and now North China, while its peace with the GRU frees up the former for its own expansion. If said expansion is West, we might end up vassals of a Russian power. Even if it isn't, it might still be ambitious enough to eventually turn to our shores.

So we propose the brokering of an alliance including us and the Yama Group to check united Russian ambition. Our contribution to said Alliance will be Manpower, as it is easier for our Federation to raise troops than a Corporation can raise mercenaries. That and our existing troops are mostly intact...
