Skills/Powers//Magic: As an archbishop, she possesses ancient magic that enables her to turn those around her to a more charitable disposition, the Authority of Charity. This can take many forms but in her case, it often takes the form of a rain of flowers whose pollen awakens feelings of Charity when inhaled (cuz she’s extra as FUCK)

As a ritual, she has the power to summon Servants of the Virtues, the spirits of mortals that served the Virtues to her side when needed...but only one at a time.

Ritual: Angel Summoning: Can summon angels of the goddess Aurora, the primary goddess of her family (she hasn’t stopped worshipping her, just worships her in addition to the Virtues).

Light Magic:
Channel Divinity: Can channel holy energy directly from the Deity of Charity and expel it in the form of light, or imbue her weapons with it.

Heal: Simple healing spell

Scorch: Intense divine light that burns on contact

Chains: She can conjure chains out of light and use them to bind enemies

Shield: Simple shield spell, a shield made out of light.

Equipment: Her primary weapon is a three ball flail carved with holy runes on the handle. She also has a short-sword in case she needs to get into closer combat. She wears a jeweled locket containing a picture of her parents and Kendra on one side, and a picture of her, Roter and Zed as kids on the other. It’s carved with her initials on the back and has the symbol of Charity on the front.
While fighting or otherwise carrying out archbishop duties, she wears a mask as part of her attire that’s painted with the symbol of Charity over the right eye.

Personality: As she is acutely aware of her high position, Cecily often acts far older than she is...but in reality she’s still just a young girl struggling with the responsibility she’s given. She’s very devoted to the faith of the gods and the protection of the innocent, which is the reason she joined the Cult of Virtues in the first place...she feels an immense sense of responsibility and that it’s her sworn duty to protect Lonriel from the forces of evil that threaten them (such as the Sins). Outside of work, she’s quite jovial and easy to get along with, but her cheerful smiles when around friends and stony expressions on the battlefield all mask an inner sense of inadequacy. She has a strong sense of duty and honor, considers her brothers and sisters of the Cult her family, and she’s willing to do anything to protect them...but one of her biggest faults is that she is a perfectionist and hesitant to ask for help and takes on more than she can handle. She doesn’t like to acknowledge the weaknesses in herself, for fear of being seen as incompetent or unworthy or failing her men, and she’s much better at battle tactics than just charging into battle..she prefers to outmaneuver enemies rather than overwhelm them with brute force.

Biography: Born in Grandcrest, a city in Arghyo, Cecily Vitoria Ludo was the oldest of two daughters born to a well to do knightly family. As the eldest daughter she was expected to lead all the graces and talents that come with being a noblewoman, and hopefully attracting a good marriage that would bring more power to their family. Her father, a knight serving the Arghyo princess taught his daughters how to use weapons in order to protect themselves, while their mother brought them up to be cultured young ladies. Due to her sheltered upbringing, she didn’t have a lot of friends outside of her family and the other noble children, and one of her closest friends would be from another, far more well-known noble family, the Palaiologos bloodline. Cecily met Roter during her school years as they went to the same academy, where she became acquainted with him and his close companion Zed. She admired the bond the two had and chatted them up, the three children becoming rather close despite their age difference. When they came back from Anselm bloody and battered, she used what little healing magic she knew to keep them stable until they were able to get proper treatment.

Outside of her friendship with Roter and Zed, her closest friend was her beloved younger sister Kendra. The two girls were inseparable, and life was blissfully uneventful until something happened when Cecily was 13. They were playing outside one night, catching fireflies in an open field. Cecily turned her back for a few moments to capture flowers when a scream jolted her upright, a mysterious figure in a mask and cloak had grabbed her sister. Cecily tried to use a stick and what little fire magic she knew to rescue Kendra, but the young child was easily overpowered and knocked unconscious.

When she came to, she was in a hospital and looking into the eyes of her worried parents. As she www describing what happened to the town guard, their faces became worried at the mention of the symbols on the masked figure’s uniform...apparently Kendra had been taken by a member of the Cult of Sins, for what purpose she was taken remained unsure. Cecily blamed herself, although her parents assured her she did absolutely nothing wrong. Her aunt, already a worshipper of the Cult of Virtues took Cecily to a service some time later and that’s when the young girl decided to join them. This group opposed the Sins, right? She could rise through the ranks, become strong and rescue Kendra. Although she joined for her own reasons at first, she began to deeply worship the Virtues over the years and believed that not only could this path save her sister, but that perhaps she could help people, and at sixteen years old she was made the Archbishop of Charity directly by the deity of Caritas themselves as the previous archbishop had died. In this new capacity, Cecily has taken up her weapon to smite demons and rid the world of the Cult of Sins once and for all.

Goals: To rescue her sister and bring her home safely, to destroy the Cult of Sins, uphold the Virtues, defend the world from evil and purge the corruption from the Church...she knows hurting innocent people isn’t doing anything for their image and that there’s a sickness spreading in their holy orders. After all that is done, attend Roter and Zed’s wedding and live long enough to experience life and get married...maybe have some kids.

There are a few lore related issues, but that's my fault for still not being able to properly update the lore.

She would not be able to summon angels, because the Seven Virtues are deities, but they're different from the actual Gods. The Gods existed before mortals did and created the world, so they're a higher rank of divine beings - the Virtues and the Sins are also divine, but they exist because of the feelings and emotions of mortals. So in turn their servants are all from among the mortals.

She could maybe summon actual angels of the Gods Above, but that wouldn't be part of her Archbishop powers and would require a ritual. Alternatively, she would be able to summon holy servants of Charity, those are like Saints, so former mortals who served Charity and ascended to a higher plane, but that would once again require a ritual and she wouldn't be able to summon more than one at the time.

Her main power would be the Authority of Charity/Auctoritas Caritatis , which at its core would be her ability to awaken feelings of Charity in the people among them, ranging from just a slight influence to a very, very strong feeling and even something closer to mind control if she's able to use it at full power. This would be the more official form the Ancient Magic that you mentioned.

This authority could also have a more physical application, but what form it appears under is really up to the individual Archbishop in question. Celio as the Archbishop of Envy can use his Authority to create serpents of shadow that can in turn bite and poison people with their venom that is a lot more powerful than just his Authority of Envy itself.

Then she can also certainly be very proficient in light magic, both as Ancient Magic and as the Magic of the Oath.

It's quite an interesting choice for an appearance because I was literally just thinking about rewatching Shield Hero in the morning xD
