Name: Alyson “Alucard” Ironbright (née Ramey)
Age: Her 100th birthday is coming up soon (turned at 28)
Gender: Female
Sexual Orientation: https://youtu.be/8z76xz0NPN4
Race: Vampire (Moroi)
Appearance:
Image

Position/Status/Affiliation: She’s a jewel-smith; and runs a world-renowned jewelry-making business with her husband. Employed by the nobles of Duivene, she’s amassed a comfortable living for herself.

Skills/Powers//Magic: She can wield both dark magic and blood magic, such as:
Shapeshifting: She can shapeshift into either a single bat, a single rat, a cloud of mist or a swarm of bats.
Animal Summoning: She can summon night creatures, such as rats, ravens or wolves. Wolves are harder and she can only summon two at a time. Ravens, up to five.
Cast Illusion: She can create small shadow illusions to fuck with people, usually only limited to people or scenes. They can’t become solid.
Darkness: You make a room become dark...that’s it.
Blood Magic: Can cast elemental spells through drawing sigils with her blood, but she doesn’t use this often as it requires her own blood

Equipment: Usually jewelry-making supplies and sketchbooks for designs, but she also carries around a few tomes of dark magic and a ring of obvious dwarven make. A pair of enchanted gloves used when working with silver to avoid burns.

Personality: Alucard is surprisingly kind, easygoing and amiable for a vampire, for the most part she’s your typical friendly “young” woman. She’s also a shrewd businesswoman and knows how to haggle, one minute you’re having tea and the next minute you’re paying top dollar for her new summer silver collection. She’s not particularly interested in politics or power, she just wants to live her life like a normal person with her family.
“Taking over the throne of the Empire? Becoming queen of the vampires? Hell no, sounds like too much work. I just wanna make jewelry and see the world and shag my husband in peace.” As such, she tends to have a lackadaisical and apathetic attitude toward things unless she somehow gets roped into them. She adores and loves her husband and is loyal to her small group of friends (and valued customers), and has an EXTREME tendency to avoid conflict or anything that’ll disrupt her peaceful life. She will nope the hell outta there, “not my circus, not my monkeys” unless she’s absolutely forced.

Moral Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Biography: Alyson Clara Ramey was born in Duivene to Adrian and Ana-Maria Ramey, Ana Maria was an opera singer and Adrian was a book printer. As such, she grew up in a very creative household and that’s where her love of art and creation was fostered. She had an older brother, Adrian Jr. whom she grew up rather close to. From her earliest days, Alyson had always been a free spirit and spent most of her days wandering the city when she wasn’t in school. Her parents wanted a good life for their children, they wanted their daughter to marry a wealthy man who would be able to provide for her and they wanted their son to make a name for himself in society.
Her life was rather uneventful until she turned fifteen, that’s when she got a job with a local jeweler and discovered a passion for jewelry making. When she made her first piece, a small pair of earrings, that’s when she knew she wished to do this for the rest of her life.

A year later, she was called on to make a delivery to a Baron Titus Longfang, who had commissioned a handsome necklace for his wife. They were a prominent if somewhat reclusive family, and the commission paid handsomely so Alyson made the necklace and went to the baron’s manor. She was greeted rather warmly, but it only took one glance to realize...these people clearly weren’t human and probably had never been. Well no shit, was it the pale skin or the glowing eyes or the sharp fangs that gave it away? Or the fact they kept all their windows closed during the day? Anyway, she didn’t seem too freaked out that she was delivering a necklace to a bunch of vampires. She even struck up a friendship with the family’s young son, William Longfang. A friendship that would turn into something deeper, and as soon as she’d saved up enough money she’d bid farewell to her old master and strike out on her own to make her own jewelry business (as well as move in with William). Things were happy for a number of years, until Alyson fell desperately ill. A sickness had swept through their town, and it seemed like she was on the edge of death. In desperation, William pleaded that she allow him to turn her and in her own fear she agreed. She was so young, she didn’t wish to die yet. There were still things she wanted to do.

It took her a while to adjust to life as a vampire, having to avoid the sunlight was the hardest part for her until she discovered she could put on a sun hat and cloak and go out with no problems. But when she got used to it, it didn’t seem to impede her much at all. She took the name Alucard soon after she was turned, both to symbolize her new identity and to save her family from having to be associated with the undead. Unfortunately things didn’t work out with William and they split, it got ugly, don’t ask her why. “I’ll only say that the current Baron is married to a Mister Longfang now. And the purple heeled shoes should’ve tipped me off.” Eventually though they managed to rekindle their friendship, and they’re quite close now. In fact, she met her current husband at one of William’s infamous parties. She was there to take commissions, sell jewelry and party. Zari Ironbright was a dwarven artist contracted to paint a mural for the Baron’s sitting room, he literally swept her off her feet. And by swept her off her feet, I mean he was sweeping paint chips away and didn’t see where he was going so he barreled into her. Some of her papers flew out of her hands and going to hand them to her, he was impressed by her designs as she complimented his paintings.

Throughout the whole night, they sat and talked art nerd stuff while getting a couple of dances in...apparently that must’ve worked because they got married three years later and went into business together, with Zari contributing designs of his own to each new collection and Alucard giving him ideas for his paintings. That was twenty-five years ago and they’ve been married ever since.

Goals: To get stupid dumb rich and retire to a nice faraway place with her husband, maybe adopt a kid or two, who knows? But really, she wants to share her art with the world and keep the chaos away from her family as long as possible. Basically she wants to be LEFT THE HELL ALONE AND LIVE HER BEST UNLIFE, DAMMIT! In all seriousness though, that’s not likely to happen with everything going on in the world.

Hopefully. My computer's been having some trouble over the past few days, presumably something going own with the main hard drive (getting some blue screens and "error loading operating system" among other things, while trying to use chkdsk to fix it earlier resulted in "an unspecified error occurred" part way through). Not sure exactly how I managed to get it working again, but it's working, at least for now. Considering I've had this problem on and off since last Thursday, it's probably only fixed temporarily.

Ouch. That sucks.

My computer's also been acting increasingly weird but the increase hasn't been as bad as to warrant me grabbing something new yet.

Pressing my thumbs and offering a prayer to god that it'll work out again for you so we can have ya around again.

We could go and scheme over Morizia.

I like it, accepted!

Alucard is a pretty interesting choice for a new name, but well, if it's for fun it's alright xD
There would probably not have been a Dracula so it could be a name by itself.

Other than that just a few mentions - vampires can stay out in the sun without spontaneously combusting or anything, but it really weakens them, so her hat and cloak would probably have to be enchanted.

Vampires in general also really try to hide their own appearance since both the Scriptures of the Faith and Faith's Judgement are hunting them and have become more and more aggressive as of the past few years.

Duivene usually doesn't let the Faith's Judgement run amok, but the Scriptures are more than welcome.

Yeah, it might be an issue with the hard drive. You could try to download something Crystalmark to check the SMART health data of the drive itself, but it doesn't look that good.

A Windows reinstall might be a good way to remove the possibility of a software issue, but that's tough to do with no way to backup your data.

Still, it would be nice for you to stick around :P

It might also be the time to update the list of accepted characters for the first time in nearly two years

As sad as it is to remove so many former characters, it must be pretty confusing to newcomers xD
