But now that my exams are over, i will certainly be putting some more effort into dealing with DoC stuff!

And that's a pretty nice reference xD

Though.. I have no idea how you were able to add a few more pics. The amount of pictures that you had for him was already outrageous :P

Meanwhile I'm stuck at only finding one or three pictures for Rafal since his new appearance is from a random Korean game

Well, from what I saw when looking the pic you used for him up, he's from Diabolik Lovers, which is a Japanese otome game (I think there was an anime back in 2013 too). So yeah, some vampire bishounen from a visual novel game aimed at a female audience. Weren't many good pics, since most were him wearing some school uniform or with a bunch of other characters, but here's a few:

Oh well xD

I was using that appearance until a few months ago, when I tried to find more pictures of said character only to find the wiki and read about the character in the otome game. And after reading about what the character is like.. yeah, I decided that I just can't keep using that appearance, it just clashed with how I imagine Rafal too much. Plus, most of the pictures of him do have the vampire fangs visible, which is difficult to explain.

So I started looking for another appearance, and I found a character from a Korean game, Elsword it was from what I can remember. And I did manage to find a few images, but it was difficult to find one of them - I even had to search in Chinese on Baidu xD

But thanks for those images of the old appearance! I still do really like, so I was actually thinking about using them for a vampire character that I had a few ideas for

Just read the lore section, and wow! I am completely blown away. That's the most well written, in-depth lore I've seen for any RP. Color me impressed! Consider this a tag :)

Well, I just had a quick look on Danbooru and Pixiv, and I found a few more pics from Elsword:

Where would be a good place for me to, for lack of a better term, "jump in" to the story? I wouldn't want to write up a character that starts in one region, then find out that almost all of the other characters are more than half way across the map.

Hmm, this is a somewhat difficult question. We've had a period of inactivity for a few good months now and we're only now trying to bring some more life to it, so I'm still not fully sure who is still active and who isn't.

I am planning something to hopefully attract more new players later in the month though.

There is no reason to wait though xD

Most characters right now are concentrated in the Human Realms, but they are somewhat spread out, and there are also a lot of characters that haven't been used in a while but that could be brought back by players.

So it depends on what kind of a character you have in mind and what you want to do

Thanks for the quick response! :)

I had a handful of ideas for potential characters in mind...

• A former knight of virtue who fell to the Cult of Wrath, after becoming disillusioned with the corruption of the Church.
• A Cambion disciple of virtue (probably kindness)
• A moon elf light mage who's basically a Druid
•Better idea; O r c D r u i d
• A "human" who's actually half mermaid and half minotaur
• An artificer
• Some sort of pirate

What are your thoughts? What would fit best within this world?

All of those are very nice ideas! Which does make the decision somewhat difficult :P

  • A knight of virtue switching sides would be interesting. I have really tried to make it clear in the lore that the Faith has huge issues and the Cult of Virtues as a whole is divided due to the Faith asserting its authority over it, it would be very easy for a knight to fell to one of the sins. We have several characters from the Cult of Sins, so he would have a lot of possible interactions, but at the same time, we do kinda have a lot of characters who are on the evil side
  • So a knight of virtue that still serves the Virtues could also work well. It being a Cambion would make things more tense - the Faith itself would clearly consider a Cambion to be an abomination, but the Faith's Judgement would be unable to do anything to members of the Cult of Virtues. While the Cult of Sins would certainly really like the idea of making such a knight fall into Sin xD
  • Having an Elf would be very cool too, sadly, since I seem to have emphasized the Human Realms too much, we haven't really had that many Elves. There are plenty of things for an Elf to do, especially since Elves in the human realms are not treated that well, and yet there is a human realm that is led by a Loroi of the Moon.
  • Orcs would be one of the subspecies of the Karaki - there would be few of them in the Human Realms, and in general the Karaki have less mages than other races, but that would just make said character unique! At the same time though, well, humans really dislike Karaki. Loroi are disliked too, but the Karaki on the other hand are dismissed as savages and brutes. Having a Karaki in the Human Realms would be more difficult, but it could certainly be interesting
  • ...I'm not even going to ask how a half-mermaid and half-minotaur being could be conceived, but it should be a fascinating mix D
  • Oh, an artificer? I'm only very lightly familiar with the class, I've never actually played DnD, but it should be possible. Probably as a scion of the Magic of the Oath who oppose the way the Faith treats magic and approach it in a different way.
  • There would also be many possibilities for pirates. Anselm generally has small private fleets that are hired by its merchant families and that harass Calaria's fleets and ports, so I guess that they'd be privateers more than pirates, but it could be a possible origin. Calaria's navy is the best around but it also has a near brutal level of discipline in its ships, so a rebel galley could turn into a pirate ship, and then there are the Kartarans, who are like Greek Vikings and who often act as pirates.
I hope my response isn't too intimidating, I wanted to explain things as best as possible :P

But as for what would actually be the best..I'd put the Cambion knight and the Moon Elf on the first places since we lack such characters and they could easily get involved in already existing plots. Knight of wrath would certainly be able to get involved in a lot of things but like I said, the Cult of Sins has so far been the most popular faction xD
A pirate could also work but for the time being there aren't any plots in which they could take part - other than a possible war between Anselm and Calaria.. The not-human human and the artificer are interesting and they could presumably get involved in anything, but they wouldn't have the attachment to a plot that the first ideas could have. Orc druid would be interesting, but it would probably face some hate from other characters.

However, what's most important in the end isn't what would fit -but what you'd enjoy the most! We've always been trying to adjust the IC action for players, so really, nearly anything could be done xD

Here's my first app! I tried to make this as lore-friendly as possible, but if there are any modifications I need to make, I am more than willing to do so.
Character Application

Name: Alina Schneider
Age: 23
Gender: Female
Sexual Orientation: Pan
Race: Cambion (human mother, incubus father)
Appearance:Yeet
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 180 lbs
(Ignore the tattoos)
(I imagined a slightly different outfit, more akin to robes, but I don't know what members of the Cult of Kindness would wear. What did you have in mind?)

Position/Status/Affiliation:A Disciple of Benevolentia, she works as a healer and helping hand, tending to the sick and offering kindness to those who need it most. Although she is technically a servant of the Ecclesiarchy, she doesn't fully align with its harsh, all-or-nothing views...
Skills/Powers//Magic:
Diplomat: She tries to see other's points of view, and will almost always work to defuse conflict.
Healer: She is knowledgeable about health and medicine; she can identify and (sometimes) treat various diseases and ailments, as well as treat injuries. In the right environments, she can find medicinal plants and identify them. She also knows a myriad of healing spells, albeit most are designed for minor ailments.
Strong Intuition: She can pick up on the emotions of others, noticing behaviors and details others might miss. She can also detect the presence of those who are magically gifted, as well as the presence of those who are strongly aligned with a deity.
Calming Prescence: Her presence naturally carries a calming aura with it. When that doesn't work, she also knows some spells that relate to emotions, such as calming a distressed individual.
Shielding Restraint: For direct combat, her goal is to safely capture the target without anyone getting seriously hurt. She has a handful of modified lightning spells designed to stun and/or entrap individuals, preventing them from hurting themselves or others. Calming spells can also help with this.
Equipment:

• Silvered Shortsword
• Self-cleaning (enchanted) disciple robes
• Satchel with various herbs and small medicine vials
• One (1) small rose quartz crystal
• A needle and spool of black thread.
• 3 low-level healing potions
• Book of remedies
• Talisman of Benevolentia
Personality: Selfless and hard-working, she has a strong mind and an even stronger heart. She actively works to be understanding and patient with others; she hardly ever gets angry. Although she is fairly naive and idealistic, at the end of the day she is well intentioned.
Moral Alignment: Neutral Good
Biography: Growing up in such a rapidly shifting world is never easy, especially as a cambion. Alina grew up in an orphanage, located in a farming village within Wyzkia. She was a bit of a problem child, getting into fights with other kids and generally causing havoc.

Eventually, she was adopted by Gertrude Schneider, a kind hearted woman who served as the village healer. Schneider showed Alina love and compassion, and taught her everything she knew about medicine.

One day, a disciple of Benevolentia came to the village, stopping to rest and restock on supplies. Naturally, Alina was curious, so she asked the disciple about her faith and her work. The more she heard, the more she desperately wanted to go to the Holy City of Sedia and become a true follower of Benevolentia. Although her mother was hesitant, she eventually agreed to let her go become a disciple. After months of scraping up coins, there was finally enough money for Alina' s journey to the Holy City.

Folks in Sedia weren't pleased to have a cambion tainting the Holy City with its vile presence. As a matter of fact, she was almost attacked by the Inquisitors upon her arrival. Thankfully, her life was saved by the same disciple she had met in the village. The disciple introduced herself as Korinthia, and she offered to teach Alina the ways of the Faith.

After several years of training, Alina is preparing to go out into the world; in a time as tumultuous as this, the disciples of Benevolentia have more than their fair share of people to help. Famines, war, the Sins, vampirism, lycanthropy, and the accursed Blight are just the tip of the iceberg. Although she doesn't agree with everything the Cult of Virtue and the Ecclesiarchy say and do, Alina believes that she can do the most good for others by serving the gods.

Goals: Reform the Cult/Church, peacefully save wayward mortals from sin, find a cure for vampirism, see more of the "outside world"
Theme Song: Haven't found one that quite fits.

RP Sample: Yeet
Did you read the Rules?: Yep
Miscellaneous: She generally doesn't describe herself as a knight; not only does she not use a sword often (relying more on her magical ability), but the term knight implies she primarily solves conflict with combat, something she tries to keep to a minimum. Cleric or Disciple are the terms she prefers to use.

I don't see anything wrong with it and I like the concept, accepted!

To answer and comment on some things from the app though:

I haven't properly thought of an attire for the Cult of Virtues yet, though it is on my bullet list. There is probably a lot of leeway, unlike in the Faith's organizations that are strict about it, the Cult of Virtues is probably has pretty relaxed rules about the attire of its members. The classic attire would most likely consist of robes, and probably each of the sub-cults would have its own color scheme, but Benevolentia lacks one for now. I did find this image that would probably be pretty close to how the attire of the Cult of Sins would look like, so the Cult of Virtues might have a similar, if different in color type of attire, but in the end you could have your character wear whatever you want - we have the Archbishop of Benevolentia as a character in the roleplay and she isnt wearing any robes as an example xD

Other than that, I am quite impressed that you haven't made her a character with a lot of magical powers, most of the characters that we have are like that, so it's good to see some change! She would probably have a latent ability to use dark magic, due to her incubus blood, but she could and probably should be unaware of it.

Yeah, activity here and otherwise has been declining.

Well, I suppose we all could be. While I myself like to say things are decent on my end, I do feel like shit, with pressure continuosly mounting from all sides.

Uhhhhh well to be honest I could be a lot better but I could also be a lot worse I suppose. :meh: how have you been

Yeah, activity here and otherwise has been declining.

Well, I suppose we all could be. While I myself like to say things are decent on my end, I do feel like shit, with pressure continuosly mounting from all sides.
Mood. I cannot express how much of a mood that is. It's like a reverse airlock. Or something. It's midnight and my similes get a bit scrambled when it's late. Actually, they are always pretty scrambled.

My similes always suck. So I try to make as few as possible.

Anyway, yeah, things suck right now. Maybe they'll suck less in a few weeks. Maybe even more. I can't tell but I suppose I'll have to make it through those weeks to find out.
