Character Application

Name: Faye Marit
Age: 36
Gender: Female
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Race: Human
Appearance:
Image

Position/Status/Affiliation: Faye is a rather popular author of fairy tales and children's stories.
Skills/Powers//Magic: Faye is skilled in the use of sign language, and can write very quickly. She also has artistic talent, and can draw impressively realistic images. When it comes to magic, she has an ability that she's spent years learning and honing until she can use it very effectively. Specifically, her magic allows her to write down the name of an object on a piece of paper, at which point that piece of paper transforms into said object. However, there are limitations--she must know how the object functions, she cannot create any living thing, and the larger the item, the more mana it requires from her.
Equipment: A grimoire, a great deal of loose papers, a pen, and a small charm.

Personality: Due to her muteness, Faye is very thoughtful about what she says, preferring to keep her words brief and to the point. She's a gentle and patient person, and very fond of children; a surefire way to make her angry is to threaten or harm one. As a result of this, she often displays rather motherly tendencies, as befitting of one who writes stories for children. She does occasionally become frustrated with her inability to speak, but largely seems resigned to it. She's a romantic at heart, though her idealism has been largely removed over time.
Moral Alignment: Neutral Good
Biography: Faye Marit doesn't have much of a past, at least not one that people tend to know. A Duivenian storyteller, Faye has been mute for as long as she's been in the public eye, and doesn't like to waste her paper answering questions about her past, since not that many people understand her signing. What is known is that she became rather well-known after the publication of her first fairy tale, a classic-type princess-and-dragon sort of affair, yet written with a surprising emotional depth that lent it a uniqueness among the others of its type. From there, her popularity grew with each successive story, to the point that her name is well-known in Duivene and has started to spread outside of it as well. Children in particular are quite fond of her, as is to be expected, and she frequently finds herself besieged by them when she's staying in towns, particularly Duivenian ones. Those days end up using a lot of paper, as she converses much more with children than with adults, and often draws pictures of them on request. She started traveling more recently, after completing some secretive magical training, and has been making her way across the Silver Realms, writing about her experiences and taking notes for potential further stories.
Goals: She wants to bring happiness to as many people as possible, and hopefully find happiness herself.
Theme Song: Positive Parade, For the Heart I Once Had, A Rainy Forest Morning

RP Sample: You do know me, though...
Did you read the Rules?: Yep!

Character Application

Name: Lidia, the Perfect Paladin
Age: 29, though she doesn't appear any older from the day she supposedly died three years ago.
Gender: Female
Sexual Orientation: Straight
Race: Human from Wyzkia
Appearance:

She is 6'4

Position/Status/Affiliation:Former Paladin of Wyzkia, formerly one of the Champions of Light, one of the Seven Traitors
Skills/Powers//Magic: Master swordswoman, lancer, and griffon rider, she is also a very skilled tactician capable of planning the deployment and movement of forces. As for magic well she is talented in several areas such as most types of elemental magic but where she shines is her telekinetic and telepathic magic, using it to great effect to alter the battlefield she is fighting on to her benefit or to use objects around her as weapons, or to break the morale of the people she is fighting by messing with their minds. There were some rumors that during the war she was researching a new type of white magic or even trying to unlock secrets related to Thyria but that was just one rumor among many for the Champions and one that could never be proven.
Equipment: A heavy two handed sword, a long knife, plate armor with the symbols of Wyzkia worn off, an undead griffon, a silver lance.

Personality: To most she came across as someone absolutely dedicated to being the perfect Paladin and was thought of as an uncompromising perfectionist, believing that one could always do better than what they were doing and pushing others around her to do even better. And in her return that drive for perfection has only been magnified to the point that she has an active disdain of weakness and throws herself into battle not based off of value but the challenge it represents. She frequently talks to herself when she is alone and seems to hear things no one else does. Has a penchant for beheading her enemies. Also she has a very notable sense of pride that has multiplied several times over since the war ended.
Moral Alignment: No conventional DnD alignment since she can bounce between Lawful Evil and Chaotic Evil at times but she is more often the former.
Biography: Raised in a monastery of Paladins (the Monastery of the Silver Wings), being given over to them as a baby, she pretty much seemed fated to be a Paladin herself, showing an uncanny natural ability with the sword, with the lance, and with magic and took to the saddle with ease. All of the aforementioned laid the sin of pride (and some might say greed) in her heart and started the paving of the path to her damnation according to those who raised her because they did not reign it in nor did they make a true effort to stop her drive to master all of those completely, in fact many of her peers were curious at how far she would go. Growing up she had only one person she could call friend and one of her teachers remarked that she seemed beyond a lot of her peers among the orphans because of how certain she was of herself, how she knew what she wanted to do in life and that passion was off-putting. She rarely got along with those her own age and professed to not be able to understand them. She never spoke of it but she wished deep down to be a normal girl but when she did start thinking that way she fell back on her pride, telling herself to look at what she was doing, what her potential is, what she has accomplished, and more over the years of her life in order to reassure herself that she was in the place she was destined to be. And that if it was her destiny to be a warrior it was her duty to become the best out of all of them.

When the War of the Deceitful Flame started she displayed her mastery of the sword, lance, and magic to everybody both on and off the battlefield and those developed exponentially the longer the war lasted. Early in the war she earned the nickname “The Paladin of Lightning” thanks to the magic of Nina, her relic lance, but soon a new title started to spread, “The Perfect Paladin”, little did people know how that goal of perfection would warp her. Needless to say, she became a notable sight to many, so much so it wasn't a surprise to many who knew her personally that she was named one of the Champions of Light later on in the war. Indeed, it is recorded that she only ever lost a duel with the sword twice during the entire war. Overall she was considered to be one of the greatest paladins the Order had ever seen, especially out of the many Paladin champions during the war. It seemed like nothing could stop this woman who had utterly dedicated herself to being the perfect paladin and she had been called the brightest of them all by her only friend.

Indeed she was an icon to many, inspiring them to continue fighting and leading from the front on every battlefield she entered, as a solid woman everyone could rely upon and could inspire many with her great feats, and as a frequent face on the war councils as a representative of her order. And the longer the war lasted the more proud she seemed to grow of her strength and skill but still constantly pushed herself because she felt she could do more, and do it perfectly, she had to if she was to accomplish her goals. Her drive for perfection in battle became widely known but her motives for it were almost entirely unknown because almost no one bothered to ask her why.

However she was a contradictory creature at times. While many considered her to be reliable and inspirational she was a deeply private individual and kept most people at arms length. Few ever met her exacting standards and most of those who did noted that it did not get them much closer to her. It was a rare occasion when a smile graced her lips and no one ever saw her outside of her armor. She was considered excessively prideful by many but was harsher with herself than with any other. She was pragmatic to the extreme, to the point she could have been credibly accused of entirely lacking common sense, but she placed deep value in symbolic things. Such contradictions caused her only friend to say “it must be lonely at the top.”

Beyond that, well, everybody knows what happened during the end of the war, the Fourteen entered the palace and seven were seduced by the Emperor and his dark power, turning on their comrades. And they were supposed to be dead but as they say, death is an amazingly fickle thing.

According to the Faith and the testimony of the heroes Ekaitz and Saeria, she was among the first to fall, her pride tearing holes into her nobility over the course of the war, only amplified by a seeming positive view of Achysians until gaps the Emperor could exploit with ease were created. She is remembered as someone whose pride and striving for perfection proved to be her undoing with the tales saying that the Emperor promised her a way to attain complete perfection in all she desired, swaying her heart to the cause of evil when she concluded there was no other way to achieve that perfection. That she was willing to cast aside all she held dear in order to advance if that was the price she must pay in order to finally reach a limit worthy of her, that of perfection. Her goals of perfection to allow for the war to end faster were cast aside with the idea that she could surpass it all. Those who remember her from the war or even her childhood concede that she was indeed very prideful and a perfectionist but that she was also someone who believed firmly in honor, was stubborn when it came to doing what she felt was right, was rather kind if you got underneath the armor she built around herself, and had an open soft spot for children, which makes her fall to damnation even more shameful in their eyes. She was supposed to be an icon, a leader of the Paladins of Wyzkia, someone to help guide her order to the future, and she betrayed it all.

It is a massive understatement to say that all Paladins of Wyzkia hate her as a disgrace to their order and a betrayer of all they stood for, all the virtues she was supposed to profess and embody as part of the order cast aside in some mad quest to become the greatest.

She has returned recently and massacred all the Paladins at the Monastery of the Silver Wings and is pursuing goals no one knows of.

Goals: To destroy weakness (especially those from her past), to hunt down the mage that tainted her mind with... something that she refuses to elaborate upon and to kill the hero Saeria. To continue her path to perfection.

Character Application

Name: Felicity, the Last Squire
Age: 15
Gender: Female
Sexual Orientation: Straight
Race:Human from Wyzkia
Appearance: is 5'8

Position/Status/Affiliation:Squire of the Wyzkian Paladins.
Skills/Powers//Magic: Somewhat skilled swordswoman and griffon rider, has book knowledge of herbs and various medicines.
Equipment: Armor, a lance, and a longsword

Personality: She is fairly stereotypical as a lawful good paladin would be in terms of personality, except for the fact that she is somewhat proud and stubborn to a fault and relies on that stubbornness to advance in life. She is also fairly naive and does not have much knowledge of the outside world (besides that of current politics) due to always living in a monastery. The fact that she is the sole survivor of the Paladins and Squires of the Monastery of Silver Wings leaves her a complicated mess deep down as part of her wants revenge while the other part knows that Lidia would be able to kill her with ease.
Moral Alignment: Lawful Good
Biography: There isn't much to say about her, Felicity was given to a monastery run by the Paladins of Wyzkia as a baby, a monastery she scarcely ever left unless she was flying after she was made a squire and like most orphans at the monastery she has no last name. However most didn't expect her to actually even get that far as she was frailer than most as a child and had to struggle to advance and become stronger meaning she fought tooth and nail to reach the level of skill and capability she is at now. Anyone less stubborn in her state wouldn't have become a squire but it is painful for her to acknowledge that she lacks natural aptitude for the skills a paladin should have.

Whether this means she is jealous of those who are more naturally inclined to those skills or not... well she isn't telling.

Had she been a bit older she would have probably served in the war but she was thought too young and too new to the Paladins to be sent out there so she has never fought someone in real battle or killed anyone.

She is now the last squire of the Monastery of Silver Wings after Lidia butchered her way through all the paladins and squires there on the Night of the Bloody Moons.
Goals: You'll see.

Character Application

Name: Saeria, the Pure Heroine
Age: 26
Gender: Female
Sexual Orientation: Bisexual
Race: Nephilim
Appearance: 1
2

Position/Status/Affiliation:Priestess of the Cult of Castitas and hunter of the Cult of Luxuria, one of the Champions of Light, one of the Seven Heroes
Skills/Powers//Magic:
-Flight: The wings in the image are not for show so she can fly around with them and combiend with her other magics she can fly at great speeds.

-Champion of Light: As one of the Champions of Light she is an extremely talented mage and veteran of the War of the Deceitful Flame

-Memory scrying: A magic that allows for her to access and read the memories of other people. She mostly uses it to examine the memories of cultists she captures to find more of them. Though it can also be used as a weapon since it can force people to relive those memories. Of course those who have strong wills or know about it and are prepared can resist it or block her magic out entirely. She can also remove memories from people but Saeria hates that she can do that so she very rarely does so.

-Healing magic: She can cleanse and remove the taint of Lust from people as well as heal normal wounds

-Illusion magic: She is a talented illusionist and thus can normally alter some part of the environment around her to try to trick her enemies or simply for dramatic effect.

-Fire magic: She can command and use fire fueled by white magic

-Wind magic: She is capable of manipulating the air around her and use the wind as a weapon, everything from simple gusts to razor sharp blades to actual tornados if she focuses enough. This mastery and her wings means she is virtually unrivaled when it comes to fighting in the sky

-Exorcism: Given her position she is knowledgeable on exorcisms and removing taints on the soul

-Mind Protection: She can shield the minds of others from the corruption of Lust and other magics that would impact the mind.

-Martial training: She knows how to use a sword, staff, and lance to good effect

As a Hero and thus an extremely talented mage she has a lot of other magic at her disposal or at least that she knows of that I can’t really cover or want to keep hidden for a surprise/just abuse whenever the situation calls for it. :P (really it is because I am bad at coming up with powers)
Equipment:
-Her relic longsword (reference second image for what it looks like)
-A lance
-Light armor
-A backpack carrying the basic essentials
-Icons of the Cult of Chastity
Her lance is the one on the left

Personality: There isn’t much to say beyond the fact that, despite being a gregarious and upbeat person she does not reveal much about her personal affairs for fears of them being misinterpreted thanks to her heritage and it is well known about her that she will answer insults with steel. Plus the Cult of Luxuria enrages her to no end. However she is someone with a generally reassuring and kind personality and tends to everyone with a smile on her face. Among the Champions of Light she was the peacemaker, someone who tried to act neutral and provide a listening ear to the other Champions when they had issues.
Moral Alignment: Lawful Good
Biography:
Born in this world but hated and seen as an abomination thanks to her birth, Saeria the Nephilim Hero is either hated, unknown, or beloved depending on who you speak to. For it is common for a Nephilim to be hunted down and killed by the Faith who see them as unholy abominations. But somehow she managed to survive long enough to be taken in as a servant of the Cult of Chastity as a small child and eventually taken as an acolyte of a very unconventional priestess who thought the girl had potential the others overlooked due to her heritage and she showed to have excelled at such a thing, becoming a full priestess of the Cult in near record time and always being serious about her duties but having a bright smile at the same time that reassured the people she tended to that they would feel okay after she helped them. However it wasn’t all brightness since, thanks to the unconventionality of her mentor, she encountered the Cult of Lust at a young age and fought them, acquiring a hatred of them that burns to this day after what she saw them doing. She described it as “It was something you could feel in your soul just by looking at it, you knew instinctively it was wrong and you had to destroy it.”

Suffice to say a Nephilim being proclaimed as one of the sixteen Champions of Light was something loudly protested by just about everybody involved in this but the visions of the Sixteen Priestesses were without question, the prophecy was without question, she was to be one of the Champions of Light. And thus she was brought into the fold from her place where she was providing healing and guidance to others, and seeking out and purging Cultists, not that such a thing lifted the prejudices against her for being born but she went to work with the same energy that she approached the rest of life.

She generally tried to get along with most of her fellow Champions but never got along with the Paladin Lidia who held a reciprocated dislike for her. The initial cause of this split was never explained to the others with the only people who know the initial reason for why are the involved parties but what is known is that the two had to be restrained from coming to blows on at least two occasions and Lidia almost challenged her to a duel before being talked out of it by the Princesses of Duivene. Eventually it was decided that if they were to be on the same battlefield they would make an effort to keep themselves, and any troops under their command, far away from each other as even those who accompanied them on the battlefield in their entourages nearly came to blows in support of their respective Champions. But one had to note that when they were forced to fight together they worked quite well together and most thought that if the war lasted longer they would get over everything. Their fighting styles complimented each other perfectly and they were often able to predict where the other would be and act on it.

As for the rest of the war there isn’t much to say, despite prejudices against her due to her heritage she proved to be an apt leader of people, often flying above them with a sword or lance in hand to guide them forward, so much so men under her command would refer to her as “their angel” out of respect and adoration and when not in battle she would be found tending to the wounded with her healing magic and giving a kind and listening ear to many, to the point that there are those of her old entourage that still follows her out of devotion. She also would become one of the lead officials in the armies for hunting down any cultist infiltration, especially those of Luxuria, as she would pursue and exhaust every reasonable lead and was without hesitation in her pursuit of cultists, her pursuit on such things was bordering on the unnerving for many people. Despite her chatty nature she absolutely refuses to speak of what happened with their confrontation of the Emperor, saying that she doesn’t want to remember what became of her friends but it is known that despite her heritage leading some to expect her to fall to temptation she instead stood firm against the tempting words of the Emperor and fought against her corrupted fellows, vindicating herself in many eyes. It is also known that she was the one who supposedly felled the traitor Lidia after a fierce duel.

She has been making significant efforts since the end of the war to hunt down and destroy the Cult of Luxuria, making it her mission in life to do so and thus she is never in one place for too long but she often collaborates with Prince Ekatiz as it would be fair to say she gets along with him best out of the Seven Heroes, it helps that her church is close to Xerenia as well. Her anger and actions towards the cult both during and after the war has actually rendered her beyond reproach in that field, her word being held in respect when she does testify about something since most agree that she possesses more knowledge about the enemy compared to the rank and file priestesses and has had a high success rate in sniffing them out. Probably helps that she tends to meet those who try to undermine her word with steel because of how used she is to it being related to her mixed heritage rather than her actual knowledge of the fact of the matter.

While normally such capability and knowledge would make her eligible to be moved up in the hierarchy of the Cult of Castitas she is normally passed over due to her tendency to work alone, her refusal, until recently, to take any acolytes, her radical tendencies when dealing with the Cult of Luxuria at times, and general lack of desire to promote one of her heritage any higher than they need to, hero or not. And that mostly suits her just fine, being moved up would mean less time in the field and thus less cultists to deal with and thus she would be less effective in her mind. She is known though as a confidant of Archbishop Lucia and the two have a good working relationship.

It is safe to say thanks to her heritage she is one of the less talked about heroes but she doesn’t let that get to her, she never did enjoy the spotlight, though she isn’t afraid of throwing her status as one of the heroes around if it will open doors that need to be opened.

"The Faith hates her. The Scriptures look at her with suspicion. The Achysians label her the Deceiving Angel. But they are blind to her heroism. We know how Lady Saeria suffers from the fall of the other Champions that she desperately tries to bury or how she hates some of the things that being a Hero requires of her and none of the other Heroes sacrifice as much as she does besides, maybe, Princess Alexis." - A soldier in Saeria's entourage.

Goals: Destroy the Cult of Luxuria

Name: Sable, the Faithful Acolyte
Age: 18
Gender: Female
Sexual Orientation:Demi-sexual
Race:Lycanthrope
Appearance:
She is 5'4
(Image)

Position/Status/Affiliation:Acolyte to the Cult of Castitas, Acolyte of Saeria
Skills/Powers//Magic:
-Sword, staff, and bow training: Saeria has been seeing to it that she can effectively wield a sword, bow, and staff in battle, though she favors the sword, while she is not a master by any means she is competent.
-Acolyte of the Cult of Chastity: She can use most of the magic expected of someone from the Cult of Chastity along with some of Saeria’s wind magic
-Lycanthrope traits: Her senses of hearing, sight, and smell are far and away superior to the average human
Equipment: Pretty much everything Saeria has and is included in the picture

Personality: Much like her mentor she has a cheerful and kind personality but is only after you get to know her seeing as she is incredibly shy and very attached to Saeria.
Moral Alignment: Lawful Good
Biography:
Orphaned at a young age and considered an abomination seeing as, due to a quirk of fate, her traits as a lycanthrope always remain partially manifested Sable was given to the Cult of Chasity and, in a replication of the one she would call her master, became a servant before being considered for acolyte-hood. Sable passed every test that they had for members of their cult and it was decided that she would be sent off to the priestess Saeria, Hero of the War of the Deceitful Flame, to petition to be mentored by her.

She fully expected it to be a wasted trip where the Priestess would look her over and send her home refusing to mentor her, she had turned away dozens of acolytes in the past and she and others expected this to be no different. To her honest surprise after a discussion and work that took up most of the day, as Saeria was cleaning up after a group of cultists from Luxuria attacked a small village, Saeria invited her to stay as her acolyte and it was accepted. That was a year and a half ago and they have been mostly inseparable, her learning what she can from this hunter of cultists, which suits her animalistic instincts just fine and refining herself more in the hunt, so much so that people will agree that she is a worthy successor to Saeria's legacy as a hunter. Saeria thinks she may be ready to strike out on her own soon which is a day she is secretly dreading, the two having formed a strong master and apprentice pairing. As for why Saeria accepted her as an acolyte she simply responded that she felt like Sable was a kindred soul, looked down upon for her heritage and striving to prove herself despite it all. Also that Sable was probably the one with the most potential she had seen in some time.

Compared to her mentor she is much more martially inclined and can take a lot of punishment in part due to her heritage and the fact Saeria wanted her to take a lot of punishment to act as an anvil against the cults while she is the hammer so trained her that way.
Goals: Become a full priestess.

As long as you clearly discuss with Exil and emphasize that the Fen arc is happening before and will finish before this, sure, there should be no issue.

Though you will also need to find a motivation for them of course.

As long as you clearly discuss with Exil and emphasize that the Fen arc is happening before and will finish before this, sure, there should be no issue.

Though you will also need to find a motivation for them of course.

Is there any way for them to have heard about it when crossing into Wyzkia?

Character Application

Name: Faye Marit
Age: 36
Gender: Female
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Race: Human
Appearance:

Miscellaneous: So many characters... yet I can't stop...

People who want their characters to join it can send them to meet the group of paladins on the road there. This plot is pretty open, so any character with a reason to join it could do it

Is there a deadline for our characters to meet with the Paladins before the plot moves forward?

Not necessarily, we're pretty flexible. I'd like us to get at least a few characters in the group so that we can move forward, but essentially characters can still come and join at any point within the near future. The paladins are meant to move and reach an infested village after a group forms, so other characters could meet with them there.

Certainly, as I said in the post, there are rumors aplenty, but they'd still need a motivation to go towards a city that seems to be either infected with a plague, either dealing with necromancers, or both

Oh well xD

I did think a few times about making more character app, but I never had the time, and there is also the issue that I'd have to draw a line between characters and NPC's that I control.

I should however at the very least make a simple list with updated character appearances, it's been too long xD

be careful browsing the forums today, there's been someone going around spamming images that are... well, i don't know the exact subject matter, but apparently they are very adult and very gory. mods are dealing with it but obviously they can't get it the millisecond it's posted, so like i said, be careful. other than that, i hope your days are all going quite well! (and that none of us have to come across those images.)

I have not looked at it in detail.

The first post used...a racial slur, so they were bound to be DOS.
