Relic App
Names: The Icon of Guilt, Celyna
Type: Holy
Gender: Female
Sexual Orientation: N/A
Race: Human
Form as an object:
Form as a being:
Position/Status/Affiliation: Currently in possession of the Faith's Judgement.
Skills/Powers//Magic: The Icon of Guilt is a blade that, in possession of the user, can turn them into a rather terrifying force in that they become "blessed". Her wielder shall supposedly never fall in battle, as through divine intervention, their spirit shall always have the strength to continue the fight. Upon killing any being, the weapon absolves them of all sin in this life, and thus they are as pure as a newborn when they are brought before Spraevia in the afterlife shall go to heaven. However, the guilt and sin that they bore upon their death are transferred onto the wielder. The intense guilt of every being they slay begins to weigh upon The Icon's wielder until consumed by their shame, the wielder of the blade will end their own life on her cold, metal edge, beginning the cycle anew, as all the sin is absolved from the world. The dead wielders corpse is then encased in unbreakable, unblemished wood, that will never burn, and can never be tarnished, memorializing them eternally.
Personality: Mirroring her purpose, Celyna is a pious relic. She is mostly silent, and deems herself pure and morally incorruptible. Her dedication to the 16 knows no bounds, as her blade strikes down any heretic brought before it with no remorse. She considers death by her edge the ultimate act of mercy, a symbol of forgiveness from Spraevia herself.
Moral Alignment: Celyna is eternally loyal to the Faith. Wherever that places her in terms of moral alignment, that is where she rests.
History: This first historical records of the Icon of Guilt come from the journal of a holy man that dates back to the earliest years of the Age of Deceit. In his writings, he told of a thorned blade held by a Knight of the Shining Sun, one who was simply referred to as the Penitent One. Said to be a silent, and pious man, the Penitent One fought in the Northern War of Salvation, though little was known of him otherwise, and his story seemingly ended with Reign of the Black Sun. The sword later resurfaced in somewhere in Velikiya, wielded by a Knight of the Black Sun. Driven mad by the grief brought upon him, this Knight began a pilgrimage to the Haliarchy, one which lasted many years, as along with way he performed many supposed miracles in the name of 16. Many speculate that this may have been motivated by the Icon itself, as her very nature is seemingly tied to the faith of the 16. Ending his pilgrimage in Sedia, it is said he was brought before the Great Haliarch himself, wherein he cried out for forgiveness for his sins, and ended his own life, kneeling before the man, the sword pierced through his breast. The blade was then taken possession of by The Faith Keepers, and within that organization, it has been passed down from Inquisitor to Inquisitor since.
Goals: Eradicate from this world all the heretics and sinners who tarnish its face.
Theme Song: Su Beso de Plata
RP Sample: Unsure if you remember me.

Character Application
Name: Kyle Perrin-Palaiologos.
Age: 22.
Gender: Male.
Sexual Orientation: Bisexual.
Race: Human
Appearance:
5'9, 197.9 pounds
Position/Status/Affiliation: Freeborn Merchant/Mage and Economist from the Grand Principality of Argyho.
Skills/Powers//Magic: Kyle's foremost skills are in economics, both big and small. Having inherited his business empire from his (adoptive) father, Kyle knows the basics of entrepreneurship and investment, banking and finance. He also knows how his own business activities affect the wider wealth of nations, as well as the crippling effects of monopolies on the very private enterprise people in the various Merchant Republics claim to value. And finally, for self-defense, Kyle is reasonably skilled in White Magic, mostly protection spells. He can also wield daggers and crossbows without harming himself.
Equipment:
Personal Equipment
- 1x Fine Merchant's Clothes.
- 1x Dagger.
- 1x Pouch of Gold.
- 1x Personal Seal/Badge.
- 3x Throwing Daggers.
The Perrin-Palaiologos Merchant Company
- 5 Buildings (1 HQ, 1 Bank, 3 Warehouses).
- 50,000 gold or the equivalent in silver and copper.
- 500 Mercenaries for 'security purposes'.
- Various Documents detailing investments in Anselm, Calaria, and Duiverne.
Personality: Kyle believes that gold is a tool of liberation, not just enslavement, and that anyone with talent and drive should be allowed to make something of themselves and be supported as they do so. Due to his' and his adoptive father's origins, he is highly sympatethic to abolitionist causes all over the world, and has the high ambition of one day ending the institution of slavery itself, along with most forms of prejudice. After all, if money makes no difference between species, why should he? That said, he also believes that morality and honesty should govern business, if only because the goodwill of others is vital, and just as easily lost as it is gained.
Moral Alignment: Neutral Good.
Biography: Kyle's first memories were of weeping and wailing, of chains and slaps. Gradually, it dawned on him that he was a slave, and that the land he lived in was called Anselm. He was of foriegn stock, trafficked into the city as a wee baby along with his mother, torn away from him to be sold elsewhere back in his youth. As he grew up, his premature intelligence was noticed, enough to earn him lessons in literacy so that he can serve as a personal slave, perhaps as a clerk or even a butler. But as he grew into good looks, whispers grew that he should be 'repurposed' for dreadful things, things which even at his age, Kyle knew he should avoid at all costs. But how? The slave traders who were raising him for future service were not to be swayed - It was not his place. So Kyle waited submissively, hoping for rescue yet knowing it wasn't likely.
Then a mysterious person came, a merchant who was seeking slaves of unusual talent for an unknown mission. This merchant bought Kyle mere days before the young man's formal auction started, an auction which would have been traumatic for the child, then promptly made his way out of the League of Anselm and into the Principality of Arghyo, where slavery was forbidden and he was legally free. For this was the mysterious merchant's mission - To free slaves of unusual talent so that they do not go to waste, so that their talents can blossom as much as they can. And so Kyle was free, but due to him not learning how a free person should act, he didn't know what he should do with his freedom. His liberator then said this to him, "Why not stay with me, my wife, and my sons? We always have a place for you."
Having learned mistrust as a slave, Kyle refused at first, and found a job as an errand boy elsewhere in the city. But as time passed, and he saw that Argyho was a happy place to live in, his heart softened, and the person he worked for himself said that his talents would be wasted without that merchant. So Kyle eventually accepted the merchant's offer, and was thus adopted to the Palaiologos Family. In time, he found peace, peace in his new family's love. Then one day, just as the War of the Seven Realms was winding down, a sickness took the lives of his parents away, leaving him with his brothers, talented people themselves. And on their graves, he vowed this - That he would use the wealth he inherited from them to restore order and peace, to create prosperity instead of hoarding it. That gold will be his tool for liberating the world from slavery...
Goals: End slavery. Advance the interests of Argyho. Fight Chaos with money and influence.

Politics eh?
Hmmm, that could actually be tough. I think the only one aside from Thrac who've got politically oriented chars would be me (not counting various archbishops or cult leaders)...and I am like...uh...politically directly opposed to you...except for one character but they're going to do some rather down-to-earth adventuring rn to further their political goals.
We two could set something up, but it'd certainly be less about cooperation and more about...actively trying to hurt each others' operations.

Yeah, that'd be a problem, because, to be honest, I'd prefer to build myself up before going against another player character.
Where is your adventuring character going, btw? If he's anywhere near Argyho, we might have him meet with Kyle...
