I did find something else though.

You might want to correct a few of the ages.

Last time I checked, the Great War broke out 22 years ago and lasted for 20 years. Aka Augustine wouldn't have been 73 by the time it broke out but rather 61. He also couldn't have adopted Silvia years before the war since she would've been born 4 years into the war. Solomon would've been around 20 years old when the war ended. His sister about 23 years. Very young but in these kinds of RPs that's negligible.

Also, I noticed you never mention Solomon's and Velira's parents apart from perhaps half a sentence in Augustine's app stating that some of his children died. I believe the death of their parents should be a relatively major event that should need some addressing in the apps of Velira and Solomon.

That's all from me for now.

PS: Could it be that you don't check TGs anymore?

Back when I wrote that the war was 7 years long and it was 5 years since. Then it was changed to 3 years since.

Also for Silvia what she is doing is a surprise that I am working on as quickly as can be done between me and Trace. She is on a secret mission after all (supposed to have a bigger role in things but I went dark so ah well, recovering what I can :P ).

Never heard of 7 years.

Thrac just came around and whacked me with 10 years + prior conflicts as the new meta but 7 years is definitely something I never heard of.

Pretty sure we both worked on our apps at the same time in the previous OOC and back then I accounted for 20 years + 2 years inbetween.

I remember Trace at one point claiming five years of war and five years since it ended back in the original incarnation of this RP. My memory is a bit fuzzy on the 7 though but I have a feeling it was mentioned somewhere (might have been in a TG or something *shrug*). I don't remember 20 years of war though when I was working on my apps.

I'm am just going to write it off as the clash between the Emperor and Heroes destroyed time itself where everything exists but yet it doesn't and the de Veliras live in a world where there was a 7 years long war.

Me after a few minutes:

Ah now I remember. I said three years of peace and seven of war because Zapatha's character said the war ended 3 years ago and I, in the mindset of the war starting 10 years ago, which is where I based my character's backstory on, took that as meaning the war was changed to being 7 years long. Whoops. :D But yeah still don't remember the war being 20 years long truth be told.

Well, this is certainly my fault, oof. I never really put too much thought into the chronology and history to be honest. Like I said a couple of times, DoC started as me putting together a lot of random lore related ideas that I had for a fantasy roleplay, and yeah, this has had mixed results. I had some ideas about the history of course, and I mentioned them at the beginning - I vaguely remember the idea of five years of peace and of the war lasting 20 years to be honest, and I probably mentioned such ideas a lot of times, especially since we had such discussions at the beginning. But I never wrote them down somewhere where I could keep an eye on them, so I sort of forgot. The only one anchor that I had for the chronology is Celio, since he is involved in it an since he dies in the year of the war's end.

So the idea of when the war ended and how much it lasted changed as I dropped some of the elements that were a part of his story, and that's how at the time of this reboot, we ended up with 10 years of war and 3 of peace - but still, I never managed to finish an organized chronology.

Oh well, sorry for that I guess. Making one will be one of my main targets in terms of lore work, and I will discuss it with everyone involved to make sure that what I decide in the end doesn't ruin any stories of characters.

As for the lore in general.. well, the main reason for why I haven't said much about it is that it looks and more and more like it will be a big renovation of the entire lore, rather than just organizing stuff and adding some finishing touches as I had imagined. Now, this is not necessarily a problem - there are a couple of months left until I can even think about a proper reboot, and hopefully I'll sort myself out until then, but to be honest, I'm not sure what to do. So far, I've mostly just bothered people with discussions and ideas over TG or Discord individually (I will respond to your TG as soon as possible Zapatha), but I normally really need to bounce my ideas off of people, as I am very indecisive.

So I've been considering the ideas of either starting a discussion here in the OOC, or creating a Discord group for that. But I'm not sure how to feel about that. I am going to properly credit all the contributions to the lore (Irkh for the Kartarans, Vid for the ancient Velikiyans), but it feels as if I'm just taking advantage of people and their ideas for my own roleplay. And also, while I do often try to find out the ideas and opinions that other people have, I can get really defensive about my lore and my fixed ideas, so in the end those who do try to help me might end up with their ideas rejected or heavily modified. And I don't want people to feel bad because of that.

So while I always love some help in terms of lore, it looks like I might just continue to randomly bother people with fragmented questions.

Always happy to help you Trace. And don't feel too bad about taking ideas from us, doesn't hurt to have input and advice on how to improve things or what to add (though I am crediting you on that thing we are working on of course :P ).

For now I suppose I will do a rewrite of them based around the war being 20 years long while I store the original draft away somewhere, doesn't hurt to do that plus I was planning on expanding them anyway.

Pretty much I just wrote them off as dying in the war, too young for Solomon to have a chance at remembering and Illania to barely remember them, and didn't mention it besides something about Augustine losing family (and in my headcanon the last, blood relations, of the House de Velira are those two and their great-grandfather), as should be kinda obvious based off of the behavior of the siblings the de Velira family is not exactly the most... tactical or sane when it comes to avoiding things that have a good chance of killing them and might be a bit crazy about fighting and/or dueling. I'll probably just add something saying that ALL of his biological children and grandchildren died in the war leaving him with just those two and Silvia. Probably all his actual children will be dead by the time he adopted Silvia (going by her guessed age and sticking with the 20 year thing the war would have been going on for 8 years after all).

Seems like I've been finding quite a fair number of new images lately. I particularly like these:

Of course, I've added various others to Amarhael's image gallery over the past few months as well, but I probably wouldn't count them as "new".

As always, you are a wizard when it comes to finding such images xD

I really like Amarhael's appearance though. What character did it come from originally?

And I've been thinking about making a trap character in a roleplay somewhere - if I do, I'll certainly come to you for help to find the perfect appearance xD

The character whose appearance I've used is Gretel from the mobile game Sinoalice. Haven't played the game, but the characters in it are based on various fairy tales, with a dark spin on things. It's probably good, since the game's director is Yoko Taro (the guy who did Nier and Drakengard). From what I've read, Gretel is actually Hansel but he's got a bit of an identity crisis going on, and he thinks he's his sister, though she's dead (along with the rest of his family). There's also a "reality arc" version of him in the real world, who is apparently a shut in streamer/highschool dropout, and (and still a trap). "In order to get more views, Gretel pretends to have D.I.D disorder and takes on a sister persona online." He also apparently hangs himself after being doxxed (though it might be more complicated than that). So yeah, not exactly lighthearted stuff.

FYI, this is the reality arc version of him:

The game looks pretty interesting. It will apparently launch in NA so I might try it...especially if it's done by Yoko Taro. I absolutely love Nier Automata. And this character really seems to be pretty interesting, even if oof, it's sad that his sister is dead, and well, it's even worse if he kills himself..

But oh well, at least he has a pretty nice appearance :P

And you really are amazing when it comes to finding pictures of characters, like I think that in these two posts here you have more pictures than I have for all of my characters ever xD

Don't worry about it man. Whenever you feel like you're posting too slowly, just think of me! That should help.

I prefer she/they pronouns, and I enjoy not having to debate people over whether or not they should respect that. If they/them pronouns aren't something you're cool with, just use she/her. Thanks! -That same idiot, 2020

Welcome back xD

Not much really. All of us seem to be busy with something, and while stuff is still happening in the IC, we've pretty much agreed that we'll just post when we can, with no pressure about it.

Yeah, I get depressed when I see that because it's still more active than me.

This is my idea to app. A relic that typically takes the form of a beautiful girl/boy (if we wanna go trap route) who takes the form of a dagger in relic form. Her ability would likely be something related to giving the wielder something magical voice related, like singing to reinforce someone's physical abilities or something.

No way in hell. My last post may be recent, true, but it took... What, four months to come out? Characters who were just staring shyly at each other without admitting their feelings when my last post came out are getting married now.

Well, I've been a bit too strict when it comes to relics in this roleplay, something that I'm going to change, so new relic apps are always welcome - though, you should try to think about a master, either by making a master character yourself or finding someone else's character to be the masters. Relics without masters can be played, of course, but they would be pretty limited.

I like your idea though!

And oh well, whether this relic will be a girl or a trap is up to you, but we certainly have some people here who find traps interesting xD
